My mom, brother, and I went here Friday night. We hit the jackpot pot because there wasn't a wait! We got greeted by one of the managers and she was so sweet. We had Brooke as our waitress who was attentive, sweet, and gave us suggestions since it was our first time there. From watching the interactions, all the staff seems friendly. Drinks- I had the cucumber press and Moscow mule- both were delicious. The cucumber press is so refreshing. They are a little bit pricey, but worth it! Appetizer- mini corn dogs- they were delicious. Soup- wild rice soup- amazing! I would come back from Chicago just to eat it! Meal- I had the rip special. The ribs were tender and the meat fell right off the bone. They were out of this world. Lucky for me I got one of the last ribs available. Overall this place is a gem! I will be coming back again and again when I'm in town from Chicago! read more

I have dined at the River Inn twice and both times have been an exceptional experience. They have a diverse menu with a dish to please just about anyone. The owner is so sweet. Jody and the gang are great. From their Cucumber press to their cozy bar area, to their 3 porch with fireplaces. All food is great including steak bites, tender tin man, spicy meatloaf sandwich, did I mention the rib specials that fall off the bone? Yes it's smaller, yes it's always packed.... there is a reason for it :-). Always accommodating to families with kids as they all understand and accept it's sometimes hard to wait. We live in the area and this is, without a doubt, our favorite restaurant. Yes, the wait can be long but it is worth it. In all of the times we have been here, I have NEVER seen any server, bartender, manager, owner etc EVER lose their composure despite the crowd that they have to navigate thru and manage. It is most certainly "cozy" but they go above and beyond to make sure your needs are met. And the food is superb. We have had the ribs catered for parties (amazing) and my favorite is Bab's Spinach Salad with Salmon. Everything his delicious! My family and I love the River Inn. Their menu is broad but everything is good. It can be tricky getting a table so I would recommend before 6 or after 7:30 most nights. They would get five stars if there was more seating. Definitely try the ribs or pizza. The sandwiches and wraps are popular too! Good eats! read more

Best food and service in Wright county. They always have amazing food and I love that the owner is always there greeting people, helping and you can tell she cares about her customers. The only critique would be expand as it's so crowded every time we come. Called ahead, explained we had an elderly woman in our party, spoke to Jody. The entire staff was amazing. They seated us immediately at a table close to the entrance and near the restrooms. Stopped here on a Friday night. We had a 15-20 minute wait. Not too bad for a Friday. Good "bar food" and a good selection of beers. I had the bacon Swiss chicken breast sandwich and it was quite good. My wife had the Philly beef sandwich. The green peppers and onions were cut into very small pieces (not like a typical Philly), flavor-wise...it was just okay. It's nice to have this place close by as an option for eating out, but you can get good "bar food" at many local places. read more

How a restaurant should be run! They make every body, I mean every single customer, feel welcome. They are just friendly people who care about others. The food is great, a little bit country and heavy on meat, grease, fries, breads, etc....but all good quality and that is the market they are serving. Pizza is fantastic! Advice to owners: Keep your prices competitive, resist temptation to raise them in this hot economy. Keep treating customers so well. Extend the menu to have a few vegetarian options...you'd be surprised...there are a few people who would like that. How about a greek salad? read more

Cool place on the crow that feels local without being sad and creepy with the same regulars. Food is good - would def recommend the specials or more Reuben pizza, Tot-Chos. Service is always prompt and friendly. Can get crowded at times, but food is always hot and fresh.I've done a "take and bake" pizza which could be an option if you need. read more

I noticed most of the reviews are from years past. I would like to offer an update. We live in Minneapolis and have friends that live in St Cloud. We started meeting at the River Inn because it was close to a half way point. That was years ago. We fell in love with the food, and the staff is amazing. I think we covered everything on the menu at least a couple of times and have never had a bad experience. I have mixed feelings about praising this place because it is always busy, but it is just that good!! read more
