Listen, I see the previous reviews are not the greatest but I have to say in their defense they are just usually short staffed. I am not sure what the issue is with staffing but the food & desserts here is pretty decent considering it is a fast food joint. St. Michael's needs more family friendly businesses that are a safe place for kids to bring their friends to hang out. I am not sure that all Dairy Queen's do this but this one has a few board games on hand to spark some quality time with loved ones and friends while you enjoy a sweet treat. They also have burgers and chicken options too. Support this local business and treat your family to some ice cream! read more

Ordered a medium caramel sundae - it barely qualified as a small. I asked server and she gave me a snotty response asking if the cup was marked with a "M" on the bottom as if the size of the cup has anything to do with how much they put in it! did not receive my blizzard at first, had to have a friend ask the manger for my blizzard. turns out they ate my first one because they didn't ask or come to my table where my table number was to give us our meal. they gave me a larger size as an "apology". said they take turns eating unclaimed extras. the staff were over all nice and apology for the mishap. read more

Stopped in on our way to Camp Ripley. Probably one of the most disgusting and dirty establishments I have ever seen. I was tempted (and should have) cancelled my order and got my money back. The tables were filthy, the floor by the soda fountain was literally so sticky my feet made sucking sounds, and there were flies everywhere. The manager studiously ignored us as we waited well over 15 minutes for our food, which was cold when we got it. To top it all off, it was brought out on a black plastic platter that had dried ketchup and gravy on it. They need shut down. read more

I'm reviewing a Dairy Queen.....that's how you know I live in St Michael! Ever since the old Dairy Queen was torn down, the reconstruction of this DQ has been the biggest sourcing of intrigue in town. Now that it has re-opened, the new building looks amazing! Honestly, it's probably one of the nicest looking venues in town(need to step up your game Rest of St Michael!). As for the food, picture what you'd expect to get from a dairy queen, and that's what you will get here. We've ordered several blizzards since they re-opened, and the blizzard NEVER falls out of the cup when they perform the tip test. Service is above average fast (even with giant lines) read more

Service is always slow, often are missing items/ingredients. Servers are often not friendly and short with customers. Wouldn't recommend going out of your way to get to this DQ. read more

Absolute garbage service. I was told by the person at the counter I either had to place my order online or go through the drivethrough. Because my kids were with and excited to get ice cream I reluctantly placed an order through the app and waited a half hour for two mini-Blizzards. Several people just plain left after being told they wouldn't take their orders at the counter. Service in the drivetrhough line was so slow several people just pulled out of line and left. I don't understand how this place is still in business with such poor service or why corporate hasn't revoked their franchise. Absolutely inexcusable. read more

This location has horrible service. They haven't been able to serve customers for years. I continue to give it a chance and every time, I leave disappointed. The wait time is ridiculously long and the service is horrible. They are consistently understaffed. We just attempted to get ice cream with our children and sat in the drive thru behind three cars and didn't move for 20 minutes. We gave up and left after watching multiple people in line turn around and leave. The owner needs to figure out a way to secure sufficient and reliable staffing, or simply close the restaurant (in my opinion). It is extremely frustrating as we love DQ! read more

Great service! We ordered 6 burgers, 2 onion rings, basket of fries and we didn't have to wait long.

I went to this DQ drive in get 2 items: 1 mini blizzard and 1 sundae. I was then told to pull around and wait for my 2 items in the parking lot.... 10 minutes later, after 3-4 cars behind me, that had ordered hot food, and ice cream were served, I went into the building to see what was up with my order... Apparently it had never been filled, because the gentleman who took my order noticed it was left on the counter unfilled. The DQ manager/owner came up to the front and asked what I wanted... Initially, I wanted the 2 items I had ordered, but her complete lack of empathy was very apparent, so I reconsidered my purchase, and told her I wanted my money back instead. After listening to her whine about covid, and short staffing, I was finally was given my money and left. Interestingly, I went to the Culvers in Albertville, and ordered the exact same thing, and I received it with in 2 minutes, and at a cheaper price. AVOID the DQ in St. Michael. It`s apparent, I`m NOT the only one who wasn`t satisfied with the service. Culver`s in Albertville sells custard ice cream at a cheaper price. read more

Went to the drive thru tonight to get a couple of chicken strip baskets. They asked if I wanted dipping sauce and I replied gravy. I drove home, opened the bag and of course, no gravy. That's why you buy the chicken strip baskets.... it's the gravy. I was not going to drive all the way back. The fries were under cooked... soggy, not crispy. I have been going to this DQ for over 12 years and they continue to disappoint. 75% of the time I go through the drive in my order is wrong. On top of this I called and complained to a manager who said she would send me a gift card......that was 6 weeks ago and it never came. The customer service is terrible and when I order I just assume it's gonna be wrong. Me and friends waited 16 mins for a chocolate shake and we got the old one when we asked about it, and when we ordered a large fry we got a regular and took a few bites before realizing and when we walked up to the counter they just put the regular fry right back in the kitchen to serve.
