Local favorite cantina with authentic Mexican food. Very nice employees, gracious & kind! Cute little yellow building just off the frontage road in Albertville. Chips & salsa are tasty and the chimichanga with beans & rice was fresh, hot & delicious. Pride in ownership is obvious and had a great experience. read more

We've driven by this spot several times leaving the Albertville Outlets and finally stopped by. This standalone building offers a small selection of indoor seating as well as a patio in the summer. We tried a couple of tacos as well as a chimichanga. We were pleasantly surprised with the large portions and cost effective pricing. While the chimichanga was tasty, the tacos lacked flavor. read more

From good to Bad and getting worse!! When you can't even think about making a veggie burrito what can you do? A Bamba Burrito, second time I've ordered one without meat just extra beans and veggies which are extra and that's fine! they have both sucked...this one was a step up...last time was no cheese sauce and resulted in a dry tasteless burrito! This time, RICE...nothing but rice...yeah, a rice burrito....straight to the garbage! We comeback for my daughter who likes this place. Enough of that! read more

El Bamba Mexican Restaurant - A disgusting rice burrito! - Mexican Near Me - Albertville, Minnesota

This is a fast food style restaurant with about five tables. When we walked in four of the tables had Hispanic customers. Score! I thought. This must be authentic food. I'm not sure if it was authentic but I loved it. I loved the white cheese sauce. The guy taking our orders told us before we even asked that the most popular items were 1, 4, and 14. We ended up ordering the number one in the number 14. One was rice topped with shrimp, chicken, vegetables, cheese sauce, delightful! The other was a burrito with steak and their signature cheese sauce. Num! It's not particularly fancy, it's not particularly cheap, but we left full and satisfied. read more

YES YES YES! This place embodies everything good about small restaurants. We stopped for lunch as an excuse to get out of the house on a tough day and it couldn't have been more worth it. Anthony (one of the employees) is an absolute bright spot. He was so upbeat and smiley we couldn't help but have a great time. He really impacted our day and I had my boyfriend run up to grab his name so I could write all about it. He's awesome. Also, I love the style of the place. It is so tiny. It has three booths and a drive-thru. I like places that focus their energy. Tiny restaurant + awesome employee = every person feeling like they're being taken care of. You can't beat that! (Or so I thought). To top it all off: BOMB shrimp tacos! I have nothing bad to say about El Bamba. This will be a frequent spot for us all summer! (: ¡Fenomenal! read more

The food was terrible and service was poor. The chips were stale, the nachos were super bland, the cheese sauce on the nachos was cold, the kids cheese quesadillas with fries were tiny and the fries were salt-less. The bottled water in the cooler looked like it had been kicked around and were missing their labels. read more

Atmosphere: This restaurant is a small hole in the wall joint with a patio. My wife and I ordered takeout since it's February but will probably come back in the summer for some food on the patio. The over the phone order was super quick and they had the food ready within 15 minutes. We were both really impressed. Drinks: Didn't order any. I'd love to see a take out margarita (not sure if that's legal but it should be!) Food: We ordered the Pollo Loco, Chips and Salsa, and the Chicken chimichanga. The Pollo Loco was fantastic. The cheese, shrimp and rice melded together nicely and didn't last long on my plate! The Chimichanga had a bland favor but was filling. The salsa was good and we had enough to save for later. Not our Favorite: The chips were overcooked. The taste was off because of this read more

Ordered delivery and received some very Skimpy tacos! I will not order from El Bamba again and do not recommend. read more

Very solid and affordable Mexican food. I've been a few times now, but I cannot order anything except the pollo loco AND chips with their queso! They're both fantastic. The Pollo Loco is essentially a bunch of chicken with fajita veggies, rice, and covered with queso. It's packed with flavor and a good amount too. You can't really go wrong here! read more

This is not Mexican food... this is what white people want to see on Mexican food. The salsa verde on the enchiladas verdes tasted like vinegar... their "cheese sauce" is awful. This is not Mexican food! The service was ok.. the only good thing about this place was the ambience. It had good morning and it did felt like an actual little Mexican restaurant but the food was AWFUL! They sale a Philly steak sandwich......? How is that Mexican?....... read more

I'm always looking for good Mexican restaurants, especially if they aren't to far away. This one didn't make the list of ones I'd like to return to. The pork in my Bamba Burrito was very dry and they didn't have the Chili Relleno my wife wanted in her combo and she ended up throwing half her food out. read more

We went based on the raving reviews from our friends. It wasn't the worst Mexican food I've had but it was nowhere near the best either. I ordered the shredded beef chimichanga add a side of jalapeños and a side of cilantro. It came with free chips and salsa before our meal. Chips were delicious. Salsa tasted homemade. Tomatoes, chopped onions, and cilantro - no peppers of any kind. The bag shown in the picture and the small plastic cup next to it was what the chips and salsa came in. The food came out on real plates, nice touch. Chimi was a nice big size. Chicken was lean, white meat seasoned in chili powder and cumin, onions and bell (?) peppers. Rice was a bit bland. Beans were orange. I couldn't figure out why. The side of fresh jalapeños were seeded so they weren't hot at all. Side of cilantro was all leaves, not many stems. read more

I have been here 2 times in the past week because man, it's delicious! I'm a sucker for Mexican food and have a hard time finding authentic places. So glad I gave this place a try. Everyone who works here is super friendly, polite and stay on top of keeping the restaurant tidy. Everything from tacos to chimichangas, are mouth watering. Can't wait to go back! read more

Best Mexican in Albertville! I was craving some good comfort food and I found it! I got the enchiladas verdes and they were excellent! Great flavor and very authentic! They even have beer too! We also got the chips and salsa (complementary) and some churros. Everything was great here, they have a patio for the summers, and a drive thru! This tiny restaurant with a drive thru deserves 5 stars, because the food was delicious, but I'm going to give it 4 stars for a pretty good reason. I decided to give this place a try since I found a happenings coupon for a BOGO entree. I ordered at the drive thru and pull up to the window only to have the nice guy working there tell me that they have since discontinued accepting the happenings coupon and have changed it to a Buy One Get One 1/2 Off instead. Personally I think it's a restaurants duty to honor a coupon that THEY advertised. A part of me really wanted to just say 'forget it," but since the guy was so nice & offered me a few extra bucks off my meal, I decided to give it a try! The food was delicious! I ordered the Bamba Burrito - California Style. Omg this burrito was huge! And I mean over a foot long - seriously! It was a flour tortilla stuffed full of my choice of chorizo sausage, rice, refried beans, & smothered with a delicious white queso sauce and served with pico & guac & sour cream on the side. It also came with an order of chips & salsa. One word: YUM! My daughter ordered the combo plate. She chose the tamale & the beef burrito. It was served with a side of rice & refried beans. I have to say that the refried beans are hands down the best refried beans I've ever had. Period. I was a bit disappointed with the tamale. It didn't have that authentic masa/corn flavor that it should have. Overall I was impressed with the food & will definitely be going back for some refried beans! read more

Owner is super nice, and I have to say living in California and getting REAL Mexican food this place hands down is one of the best authentic places in MN for Mexican. Carnitas is actually Mexican not a pot roast called Mexican food. If in area stop in you wont regret it! read more

Always good. We have never been disappointed with our food or the service. Friendly staff .

Ok, had high hopes based on Yelp reviews. Good: picky and well travelled boys said the food was good and I would agree, except it was not very warm and very very salty. Local and not a chain, but that doesn't guarantee the best quality. Not So Good: food was cold, salty and the portion size didn't fill up my crew of teenagers. For the price of regular sit down restaurants I would expect everyone to be stuffed and leave at least some beans and rice on the plate. Not here my boys ate everything and wanted food from moms plate. Probably will not be returning. read more

I got some food around 2 pm the other afternoon with one of buddies, because he recommended and we ordered some tacos and they were terrible. The portion sizes were terrible i got no meat in my tacos, my lettuce was gone and i had no cheese in them. and to top it off the food was not good either, i wish it was better i was really hungry lol . read more

This isn't Mexican or authentic one bit. Taco Bell has more flavor than this place. Everything lacked seasoning.

Food was sub par. Chips and salsa you had to purchase and I get better chips at home with pace salsa.

I wonder what happen. I remember this place being pretty good. The tacos were authentic and so delicious. On my last visit, the tacos weren't bad, but by no mean were they authentic. Tip* If you are craving authentic Mexican tacos, check who is in the kitchen. read more

Great food and friendly service. Limited indoor seating but a nice patio. We will be coming back.

Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of most Mexican food, simply because I find the beans disgusting. How anybody enjoys eating a pile of brown mush, amazes me. However, my wife really wanted to try this place out, so we went there one night. The owner and staff were very helpful and happy. I ordered a pork enchilada with white sauce. Not only was it 10 inches long, it was 2 inches thick, and tasted excellent. In fact, all three times we've gone there, I ordered the same meal, because is was so dang good. I tried an Tamale, but found it fairly bland. There are 4 tables for dining in, and entry 2 doors. Plan on wearing your jacket if it is winter, because there is always a breeze in such a small area. They have a cute little fridge with adult beverages in it, and the prices of both the food and the beverages, are quite fair. We'll definitely go back, and maybe I'll force myself to try something else on the menu. read more

El Bamba is my go to for authentic Mexican food in Albertville. Their El Bamba burrito is HUGE and delicious. My favorite is the chimichanga, but you really can't go wrong wit anything you order. Add in that they deliver and it makes a weeknight dinner a breeze. They usually deliver quicker than they estimate too which is awesome. I have yet to sit out on their cute little patio. It's definitely on the list for this summer! read more

Quote from their website, "We are Albertville's home for Authentic Mexican Food. What differentiates us from other fast-food Mexican restaurants is that we make everything fresh, including our salsa, right here in our kitchen. Please come in an try out one of the great family recipes straight from our mother's kitchen in Jalisco. With 11 years of experience in the restaurant business we have learned that spending money on great food and customer service is what our customers want. El Bamba is a faster version of our partner restaurants, Rancho Grande in Buffalo and Mucho Loco in Elk River. If you love the food at our other locations, you'll love our faster version here, at El Bamba Authentic Mexican Restaurant." Review: I wanted to try out their food but waited a few weeks to ensure the kinks were ironed out when experiencing a new store opening. They have a drive-thru but I wanted to speak to the people inside. Their brother own's "Rancho Grande" in Monticello and they used to own the "Rancho Grande" in Albertville a few years back that has since closed down in order to bring this new GEM to the market. $5.95 Combo: Had the Beef Tamale and Chicken Burrito. Each dinner came with Beans with the nice white cheese atop and nice plain Mexican rice. The tamale was without the corn husk but was amazing, packed with a Jalapeno and beef. I had stopped eating the Habanero Sauce long before so this Tamale's heat was amazing but still controlled. The sauce over the top would be good without anything. $1.50 Side Taco: Great, crunchy and came with beer, Tomato, Lettuce, which cheese (a ton of it) and sour cream, something you usually don't get with most tacos at an authentic Mexican restaurant. Very good. I definitely will be back. Don't compare the burrito's to Chipotle because they are not meant to taste like Chipolte. Get the California Burrito! You cannot go wrong with a burrito that is covered in Cheese-Sauce! read more

Not up to par. I received chips and salsa before my meal... the salsa is a joke, it's really runny and no actual tomato, onion chunks can be found. The restaurant didn't have Jamaica, horchata, or tamarindo beverages. I mean, come on.. that's a staple. I wanted to leave but my family didn't.. so I was forced to eat here. I decided to order a chicken quesadilla; it was really soggy. I'm a texture person, so I wasn't impressed. Anyway, this place was a huge disappointment, won't be returning. read more
