We tried a couple of tacos as well as a chimichanga. We were pleasantly surprised with the large portions and cost effective pricing. This is a fast food style restaurant with about five tables. When we walked in four of the tables had Hispanic customers. Score! I thought. This must be authentic food. I'm not sure if it was authentic but I loved it. I loved the white cheese sauce. The guy taking our orders told us before we even asked that the most popular items were 1, 4, and 14. We ended up ordering the number one in the number 14. One was rice topped with shrimp, chicken, vegetables, cheese sauce, delightful! YES YES YES! This place embodies everything good about small restaurants. We stopped for lunch as an excuse to get out of the house on a tough day and it couldn't have been more worth it. Anthony (one of the employees) is an absolute bright spot. He was so upbeat and smiley we couldn't help but have a great time. He really impacted our day and I had my boyfriend run up to grab his name so I could write all about it. He's awesome. Also, I love the style of the place. It is so tiny. It has three booths and a drive-thru. I like places that focus their energy. Tiny restaurant + awesome employee = every person feeling like they're being taken care of. You can't beat that! Atmosphere: This restaurant is a small hole in the wall joint with a patio. My wife and I ordered takeout since it's February but will probably come back in the summer for some food on the patio. The over the phone order was super quick and they had the food ready within 15 minutes. We were both really impressed. Drinks: Didn't order any. I ordered the shredded beef chimichanga add a side of jalapeños and a side of cilantro. It came with free chips and salsa before our meal. Chips were delicious. Salsa tasted homemade. Tomatoes, chopped onions, and cilantro - no peppers of any kind. The bag shown in the picture and the small plastic cup next to it was what the chips and salsa came in. The food came out on real plates, nice touch. Chimi was a nice big size. Chicken was lean, white meat seasoned in chili powder and cumin, onions and bell (?) peppers. Rice was a bit bland. Best Mexican in Albertville! I was craving some good comfort food and I found it! I got the enchiladas verdes and they were excellent! Great flavor and very authentic! They even have beer too! This tiny restaurant with a drive thru deserves 5 stars, because the food was delicious, but I'm going to give it 4 stars for a pretty good reason. I decided to give this place a try since I found a happenings coupon for a BOGO entree. I ordered at the drive thru and pull up to the window only to have the nice guy working there tell me that they have since discontinued accepting the happenings coupon and have changed it to a Buy One Get One 1/2 Off instead. Personally I think it's a restaurants duty to honor a coupon that THEY advertised. A part of me really wanted to just say 'forget it," but since the guy was so nice & offered me a few extra bucks off my meal, I decided to give it a try! The food was delicious! I ordered the Bamba Burrito - California Style. Omg this burrito was huge! And I mean over a foot long - seriously! It was a flour tortilla stuffed full of my choice of chorizo sausage, rice, refried beans, & smothered with a delicious white queso sauce and served with pico & guac & sour cream on the side. It also came with an order of chips & salsa. One word: YUM! My daughter ordered the combo plate. She chose the tamale & the beef burrito. It was served with a side of rice & refried beans. I have to say that the refried beans are hands down the best refried beans I've ever had. Period. I was a bit disappointed with the tamale. Ok, had high hopes based on Yelp reviews. Good: picky and well travelled boys said the food was good and I would agree, except it was not very warm and very very salty. Local and not a chain, but that doesn't guarantee the best quality. Not So Good: food was cold, salty and the portion size didn't fill up my crew of teenagers. For the price of regular sit down restaurants I would expect everyone to be stuffed and leave at least some beans and rice on the plate. Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of most Mexican food, simply because I find the beans disgusting. How anybody enjoys eating a pile of brown mush, amazes me. However, my wife really wanted to try this place out, so we went there one night. The owner and staff were very helpful and happy. I ordered a pork enchilada with white sauce. Not only was it 10 inches long, it was 2 inches thick, and tasted excellent. In fact, all three times we've gone there, I ordered the same meal, because is was so dang good. I tried an Tamale, but found it fairly bland. There are 4 tables for dining in, and entry 2 doors. Plan on wearing your jacket if it is winter, because there is always a breeze in such a small area. They have a cute little fridge with adult beverages in it, and the prices of both the food and the beverages, are quite fair. We'll definitely go back, and maybe I'll force myself to try something else on the menu. read more

El Bamba is my go to for authentic Mexican food in Albertville. Their El Bamba burrito is HUGE and delicious. My favorite is the chimichanga, but you really can't go wrong wit anything you order. Add in that they deliver and it makes a weeknight dinner a breeze. They usually deliver quicker than they estimate too which is awesome. I have yet to sit out on their cute little patio. The sauce over the top would be good without anything. $1.50 Side Taco: Great, crunchy and came with beer, Tomato, Lettuce, which cheese (a ton of it) and sour cream, something you usually don't get with most tacos at an authentic Mexican restaurant. Very good. I definitely will be back. Don't compare the burrito's to Chipotle because they are not meant to taste like Chipolte. Get the California Burrito!
