Went to River Falls Restaurant again on 1/12/20. Our server was Pam. Her customer service skills were outstanding. We both enjoyed our meals as always and having Pam as our server made our experience all the better. We both had a side salad before the meal. It was huge. The salad alone could be a meal. Needless to say, we had leftovers of our entree. Overall great food and excellent service. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! read more

If you don't like Large Portions of good food, dollar bud light drafts, outdoor seating with fantastic views, fast & friendly service, then this place probably isn't for you. However, if you are in the 99% that does love those things, then I suggest you put this on your A List. So, now you might ask, why didn't you give them 5 stars? And I would answer by saying this isn't 5 star food or atmosphere. But, it is casual, comfortable and a solid 4 stars. read more

Tried this recently for the second time, and must say I am still impressed. River Falls is located in an old mill/warehouse building, on the end of Main Street in Woonsocket. The hostess was nice enough to give us a tour when we asked, so I got to see the whole thing. There are river and 'falls' views on both sides of the dining room which is nice to look at if you get a table by the window. The main level has a smaller bar and a the main dining room. Upstairs is a much larger bar and a dance-floor for when they have entertainment on the weekend. The schedule on their website says they have karaoke on most Thursdays. :)There's a function room downstairs with another bar and even more amazing river views. The food was good. The first time we went the had just opened, so we were expecting them to still be working out the kinks. The waitress was really professional and knowledgeable. I got the blackened chicken alfredo, which was delicious. Their website leaves a bit to be desired but I did just notice two things that are worth mentioning - they have a special on Wednesdays ("Dinner for Two for $30) which includes soup, salad, entree, bottle of wine, coffee AND dessert. That seems like a ppprrretty good deal to moi! And also FYI, it looks like they are closed on Mondays. read more

Very disappointed! We waited over an hour for our food. The service was minimal...didn't even have enough place settings at the table (which happens) but when we asked for additional settings it was not welcomed. The waitress never checked to see how things were going after the plates were dropped..which left us without drinks, napkins, etc. We did share that the meals were not up to par. The response by the waitress was anything but apologetic. Followed by a table check from the manager who asked how things were, if we ate our food and what was specifically wrong with it. He was anything but accommodating or sympathetic about our experience. We only expected an apology. Definitely won't be back anytime soon. read more

I arrived at the restaurant with my wife at 6:45 and was told it was an hour wait, on a Wednesday, but we could order dinner at the bar. We sat down and after 5 minutes one of the 2 bartenders came over, didn't tell us her name, told us the beer specials. Ordered our drinks and left. A few minutes later she returned with our drinks and took our order, a cup of shrimp and roasted corn chowder and a steak tip Caesar salad for my wife and a combo of steak tips and fried scallops with green beans and a baked sweet potato. Order was placed at 7:10. In that time other patrons came in and I began to notice that orders placed to the other bartender, we heard is name was Andy, came out within 15 minutes, most of which were orders placed after us. The orders from the bartender who took ours never came out. At 7:50 we asked her to speak with the manager after we were told our meal would be ready shortly, this was the first time since placing our order that she came to our end of the bar to see how we were doing. After 8 minutes the manager never appeared, staff scattered or looked not surprised we didn't get helped so we left. I have never had this happen, ever! One note, this was a second visit. A few weeks earlier we went for dinner on a Friday at the same time and didn't have nearly the problems. Also they were doing a promotion where at the end of dinner you chose an envelope and you won a prize that had to be used by March 26th. What we weren't told was we couldn't open the envelope until the next visit. We opened it so it voided the free entree we won, which was the reason why we returned for dinner tonight. All and all the food is good, service is mostly poor, management is absent and ownership is absent. Sorry but that's my wife and I see it. I'm forced to give a rating but they deserve a zero because it was so poor and disappointing. read more

In a city like Woonsocket it's sad that a place as high profile as this needs to be so lousy. Last time I went here we were just looking for dinner and drinks after work on a Tuesday. Mistake. The place sounded like a cafeteria, the staff was running around aimlessly, and I was fortunate to have the owner/manager? siting behind me with his screaming baby and his kitchen staff running out complaining to him every 3 mins. lol My first beer took 15 mins(i watched it sit at the bar). Menu options are standard. I went with the Shrimpapolooza where you can order a couple of dishes per person. You get a choice of maybe 20 dishes with either shrimp, salmon, scallops. Sounds brilliant. I started with the Baked Stuffed Shrimp. It was a bowl of stale crackers with some small/medium shrimp on top. My girl ordered Chicken Florentine on risotto. Should have said "Bowl full of chicken n spinach mush". Can't complain about the food being cold cuz it got plenty of time under the heat lamp. Fortunately, I was still in my Shrimpapolooza. Having failed the first time I thought I would go with the bay scallops on penne alfredo. Nope. That was a typo the waitress said. I can only choose a dish with shrimp. Fine. I will have Shrimp Alfredo. Out came my dish. Linguine with the same sm/med shrimp from before and this time everything is sitting in what looks and taste like 2% milk(not even Garelick's either). Another fail. Lastly, we ordered a cheeseburger to take home for grandpa(gotta look out for pepere). We opened the container to get a bite of the pickle. Tastes like fresh grass dipped in poison. Lesson learned. All in all sad. The draught beers are nice, the riesling came out of the bottle. 2 hours and $75. Vintage is right across the street. Go there. I've been a dozen times and they have a half price entree on both Tues and Wed without the compromise. read more

On a whim we decided to give this place a shot. We where a party of four and had no problem getting in at 6 oclick on a Saturday. Nice interior even nicer outdoor seating on the river. We choose inside due to the heat. The menu offered a wide selection of choices . Three of us had prime rib combos and enjoyed them. the fourth had the steak tips and that was good also. Parmesan mashed potatoes and a risotto where optional for the sides. The potatoes where spot on the risotto could have used a couple extra minutes but that's nit picking on the whole meal. Didn't have any apps but we saw a few go to other tables and wished we had. Service was good at front and at tables. They seem to favor a very young not as experienced wait staff but she did fine. I will go back . Even if just to find out what the heck Ma glockners berched chicken is. Another nit pick is instead of starch and vegetables with a salad you have to pick from two. I think a meal should always have a veg and starch with a simple salad. Just a gripe I have at a lot of places. read more

I have never been treated so poorly by a kitchen manager as he treated us tonight. I ordered crab and filet magnon and my boyfriend ordered prime rib over 60$ in meals and the vegetable were completely burnt. The waitress was great, apologized and went to go see what she could do to fix it. She said the kitchen manager said there was nothing they would do for us. I asked to speak with him. The kitchen manager proceeded to come out and tell me they weren't burnt in his opinion but the best they could do is take off one dollar because that's all they charge for them. I have never been so appalled in my life at the treatment of customers in a restaurant. I will never return. read more

My wife and I were in the mood for beef tonight so we decided to try this place. Overall, I am very impressed. There were lots of things on the menu that we would have ordered. Tonight I had the 20 oz. prime rib and my wife the Delmonico. My wife's steak was VERY good. As for my prime rib, I ordered an end cut as rare as they could get it. What I got was overcooked and dry. They replaced it immediately and without question with a center cut that was very nice. Other things...my Caesar salad was OK but my wife's French onion soup was delicious. Dinner for two without drinks was $62 plus tip. The server was terrific so we gave him a nice tip. We are definitely going back. Worth the 45 minute drive from Coventry. read more

We went here with another couple saturday night. It was busy but not overly crowded. They have a great menu, little of everything. We got the eggplant fries as an appetizer. The wives got a Salmon special which got rave reviews, I got the sirloin tips and fried scallops with fries and corn. I got the tips with terriyaki sauce. It was fabulous I really enjoyed it and prices are reasonable. It was pouring rain so we couldn't sit outside. Its a renovated mill building great ambiance. they also have specials during the week. I think the French onion burger was the best hamburger I've ever had, and I've had plenty of burgers. The fries were really good too.

We had visited this restaurant before, in the winter. Service wasn't great, food was mediocre. We still laugh about that experience. Located in a mill building, it is attractive. The first time there we were seated at a booth. We are tall people but our feet didn't touch the floor. Uncomfortable after a few minutes. On that visit they had a party going on in the back and there were not enough knives. We had to share 4 for six people until about half way though dinner. This morning we saw this restaurant highlighted on Joe Zito' s show. Beautiful views of the river, eat on the patio the story said. It was a beautiful day so we decided to drive the hour there. Upon arrival we were told the patio was closed. I asked if was closed for the season but no one knew. They were out of the first 2 beers we asked for. We decided to try the family style chicken dinner. Salad arrives 45 minutes after ordering. No silverware or plates. We ask for plates, they arrive dirty, with some brown crust stuck on them. New plates arrive with silverware. After some time a plate of chicken arrives, no sides just chicken. We pick at it, it was tasty. We asked about the sides and were told they would be out soon. A different waitress arrives with more chicken, in a bowl. After a few minutes fries and pasta arrive. This bowl of chicken was different. Skin was not crisp. It seemed boiled, then baked. Tasteless. Waitress comes by and says " oh you got both kinds of chicken by mistake but won't be charged ". 2 of us split one chicken breast and were done. We took the rest home for the dogs. The fries and homemade cinnamon rolls were very good. The place could use a good cleaning. Cobwebs on the blinds and window sills. Very unappealing. CHANGED 2 STARS TO 1 since my husband barely made it home and is now in the bathroom, sick. Tossed the chicken I brought home for the dogs. read more

The atmosphere is great. Wood, warm lighting and nice comfy chairs. The food was good, not exceptional, but good. The service was horrible. There were three of us. It took 10 minutes for a third menu to reach the table. Bottled beer was warm. Salad then dinner was served in a reasonable period of time. Potato and vegetable were excellent. It took forever to come back to the table to clear and then only have the table was cleared. Only one person was asked if they wanted coffee or dessert then the server left. It's took forever for the check to be delivered and it was wrong. There were two extra drinks on the bill. I'm a 20 to 25% tipper 99% of the time but I just couldn't do it. She got 16%. The hard part - the server was lovely just no sense of urgency. read more

I am giving this 5 stars due to the Sunday Ma Glockner's dinner. I went to the original place since I was a little kid and it is 95% the same. Slight difference I believe is in the french fries and they never had sweet potato offered back in the day but a nice added bonus. Amazing comfort food! The price is great since you get so much food with it. It is absolutely amazing and thank you so much for keeping the tradition alive!!! read more

So the venue is great, they have out door seating, and in door and a bar. The atmosphere and the wait staff is great too. The food isnt the top of the list here though. They have a decent selection but they seem to be out of things often and if you ask for something a certain way the kitchen doesn't seem to care and they just put out the food they want to make you. For example I ordered the steak and scallops and asked for the scallops baked/broiled with no bread crumbs and the steak plain with no seasoning(teriyaki or BBQ) the steak came out teriyaki style and the scallops were covered in what seemed to be Ritz crackers. The food was cooked well it was just the execution wasn't correct. I will return because I'm a strong believer in second chances and hopefully my experience will be a little better. So here's to hoping. Also don't let this review stray you from visiting, you should make your own opinion read more

The setting is just lovely, but that's where the positive review ends. Service was slow, our appetizer never came, drinks were made incorrectly (seems like bartender doesn't know how to make even basic drinks). Our prime rib came out over cooked. We had no intention of complaining, it happens sometimes, mediocre food and below average service. However the manager came over to our table on his own accord, and proceeded to demand to know what the "problem" was. He aggressively insisted on knowing "what's the issue here" when we explained our appetizer never came and that we had waited for almost an hour for our meals he proceeded to yell at our waitress at the bar for 10 mins, further delaying our order. His behavior is what ruined our night to be honest, I can handle a little bad service but a crying waitress and an angry aggressive manager means we won't ever go back there. read more

This is a hidden jewel! Our server Amy was great, we ordered the buffalo wings and nachos and they where amazing! We also ordered the steak tips and they where really good the portions where big. Where do I start? From the moment we booked a private room for an 80th birthday party celebration to the time we received our food, this place was disorganized and poorly staffed. After booking weeks in advance for a party of 25 we were told a week before that they would not honor the quoted price because we only had 25 people and the room holds 70. They wanted to add $2 to each meal. They finally agreed to us using the room but only if they could seat other people in it also. Since we had already told everyone about the time and place and had already spent countless hours arranging this we agreed. When we arrived that night as everyone was milling about talking to people we hadn't seen in a long time we were yelled at by the manager and told to sit down because he had to look out for the other people who were in the room. He told us if we wanted a private party we should have booked one! That was what we tried to do in the first place! We had 2 choices to make for the meal, either french fries or sweet potatoe and either French or Italian dressing (not very complicated, right?). Well, they couldn't even get that right! This confusion continued all night with people ordering things (coffee, water, etc) and not getting them. To be fair, the 2 waitresses were trying their best but with a party of 25 plus the bar and 4 other tables to wait on I think they were overwhelmed. The only time we saw the manager was when he would come down to complain to us about something. One time he actually pushed a member of our group out of the way to get to my sister to complain to her about something! The food was fair but that was the least unpleasant part of the night. Don't bother with this place untill they get a manager who knows how to manage! read more

Riverfalls is a casual, yet refined restaurant with an upscale feel. It is arguabley the nicest restaurant around woonsocket. They always have fantastic daily, and monthly specials, and great beer specials. I recommend their stuffed quohog and chowder combo. It is great for lunch, dinner, or as an appetizer. Make sure to check out the late night scene next door at City. read more

My husband and I went for the first time today for lunch and the outdoor patio/ bar is lovely however we had to move from the bar to a table because the bee situation was out of control. There were swarms of bees and they were landing in my can of beer as well as my salad. I'm not allergic to bees however I certainly don't want them flying all over me. The host said they got new bee traps but I got to tell you, they need an exterminator ASAP because the traps did nothing and even at a table we felt like we wanted to leave and unfortunately didn't really get to enjoy ourselves. read more
