their food tastes like hospital food and the customer service is piss poor... go too kt's diner, it's right down the road.. can't believe river diner, been in business thisl long

The food was ok but my friend's eggs were not cooked correctly. ALSO, we ordered eggs they came with home fries. We asked for hash browns. When we received our bills, we were charged $2.00 more for the hashbrowns Our bills which should have been $7.00 were $9.00 There was no explanation at the time that we would be charged $2.00 extra. Never going back to this place.

I forgot the name, but there is this glorious, cheesy skillet packed with everything that's delicious about breakfast--including sausage gravy. Umm, and it's fan-tastic! Everything else was so-so at this little Point Place spot. Pretty standard diner food, except for the entire second menu full of mediterranean noms. After mowing down my veggie omelet, I looked over at our neighbor's table and saw the gyro. It looked divine. My omelet was decent, but it was Jason's skillet thing-y that really stole the show. I'm almost certain he was 2 seconds away from stabbing my arm with a fork because I kept stealing fork-fulls. It would have been worth it, though. The orange juice and coffee were both pretty terrible. I'm never really one to complain about that sort of stuff, but I couldn't even finish one cup of coffee. Ick. The bf compared the OJ to Tang, if that's any indication on how he felt about it. Other than that, there wasn't too much to complain about. Fast, good service. Coffee rounds (even though it tasted horrible) were made about ever 5 minutes so you never went without. And it's really the only diner in the immediate area. If I ever visited the area again, I'd probably stop by again to try the lunch or get that glorious skillet.

River Diver used to be decent but, good lord, I guess they've gone down hill. I walked in to pick up my take out order and the blonde girl at the register rolls her eyes like she was annoyed about it. I got my food anyway and took it home. The food was absolutely terrible, fried fish over seasoned and too salty to the point that it was inedible and coleslaw that smelled and tasted like it was spoiled. If that wasn't enough they got parts of my order wrong toNever returning.

I'm really disappointed that I haven't written this sooner. . . Anyway, the reviews and pictures…read morenever lie & Souk consistently holds strong. Have you ever been to a restaurant and your experience is so great, and the food is immaculate, and you KNOW that in your heart, that it doesn't matter what you order from the menu, you're GOING to leave satisfied? Well Souk is that type of restaurant. Definitely make a reservation. I did not, but I lucked up with a table in the bar area. Here's what I ordered: Calamari- One of my favorites out of the hundreds I've had. I typically don't care for the thicker semi-crispy calamari as much, but theirs was so fresh, I'm convinced if that type of calamari doesn't taste good somewhere else, it's probably due to the quality or method of cooking. Grape leaves- Enjoyed those and well-packed Braised Short Rib- Amazing. 10/10. Tender and flavorful. I loved the brussel sprouts. The celery root puree on the plate complimented it so well I thought it was mashed potatoes puree, lol. Like that's genius. Sumac Seared Ahi Tuna- I did not personally order this. I did not personally try it. Yes, I regret it. I was told it great. No complaints. I love Souk for Toledo. I love Toledo for Souk.

I want to try other items, but I can't shake that craving ha ha! Souk is definitely a lovely place to dress up for date night and the prices are very reasonable so that is always a plus! It does tend to be a bit chilly inside, so I suggest bringing a sweater but I'd 100xs rather bring a sweater than be sweaty. Also, I'd suggest making a reservation as this is a popular spot downtown. 10/10 would recommend!

This was my first time here and it will not be the last!…read more The cauliflower was amazing, the hummus was delicious, and the falafel (first time I've ever tried it) was incredible! I could've had my whole meal be just the appetizers and I would've been happy. The dinner came out and the rice was seasoned and tasted awesome! The chicken and lamb chops were *chef's kiss*. My favorite (aside from the falafel) was the Kafta. It's the first time I had it and my taste buds were blown away. Of course we had to end the meal with dessert (not much room left but we made it work) and the tuxedo mousse cake was made with so much love you could taste it in every bite. Not only was the food AMAZING, the staff were extremely friendly, they took the time to learn our names, very attentive, and made the whole experience that much better. The location is great and the entire vibe of the restaurant was relaxing. I will definitely be coming back very soon!

Delicious altho the side salad was meh. Nick convinced me to order the Château Ksara Réserve Du Couvent, a special red wine made from top-quality grapes in Lebanon. It was really special as was his homemade hot sauce (which I bought a container of for our home).

This has become my favorite middle eastern deli/store in Toledo. The menu goes beyond the basic…read moreshawarma/hummus/falafel things to include offerings like braised lamb shanks, yogurt kibbe, a huge selection of meat and cheese pies, besides a number of "Americanized" choices. The chicken shawarma is excellent, nicely seared but still juicy. Salads have been very good, with strongly (but not too strongly) lemony dressings, Falafels are crisp on the outside, a little soggier than I'd like on the inside--not that that stopped me from scarfing them down! Hummus is about as good as you'll find. Good as the food is, the service can be a bit slow. The market side is small, doesn't have a huge selection, but still a solid representation of mediterranean cooking basics (and seriously...just how many brands of tahini do you need???). And it's clean! A very economical olive bar and well-stocked meat case are musts for a visit here. In the latter, you'll find a little bit of beef, a little bit of chicken, a little bit of goat, but a whole lotta lamb, everything from tongues to trotters, at far below supermarket prices. While I like to sample a variety of places, Muna is taking away my incentive to explore other middle eastern restaurants in Toledo. It's a pleasant rut to be stuck in.
