It made me feel young again. Moments on the water were peaceful. At the same time the river keeps the fun moving. I truly valued having a restaurant on site after we finished rafting. While some in our group needed more time to enjoy a hot shower and freshen up after the river, others were able to order food and relax during the transition time. I am already looking for another time on my calendar to get back on the Ocoee with AU!!!

Our guide, Spencer, was incredibly skilled as he could have navigated blindfolded... yes, he's that good! Spencer was also an absolute blast to surf the river with... very friendly, knowledgable and well-traveled... he had plenty of amusing stories to share and kept us all very engaged. I should also mention that Spencer was also seriously great at gaging our comfort level vs. our spirit of adventure... therefore, he was able to navigate us down various paths of the river making it challenging and thrilling for us! While there are plenty of white water outfitters to pick from, we intentionally picked a smaller outfitter and we were so glad we did... we felt our experience was more personal, less generic, and seriously less crowded! I only wished I had sat in the front of the boat where the photographer was situated... that would have made a fantastic birthday photo. The only other "disappointment" was that Cascade Outdoors advertised about their HOT SHOWERS which was super important to us and was one of the main reasons we chose Cascade Outdoors... but there was NO hot water available and the lack of being able to take a good shower after the rafting trip did impede on our other plans. Other than that, Cascade Outdoors and our guide, Spencer, offered us a fabulously fun white water experience on the Ocoee River! We can't wait to return!!! :)

Without knowing what the other companies are like, we can now confidently say that we were incredibly happy with our choice. The staff got right to work once we arrived. They were thorough when they went though the training and safety procedures. They made sure we knew exactly what we were doing before we got into the water. The main guide, Mark (I hope I got his name right), was excellent with teaching us and telling stories. Our guides were Jared and Jon T. Jared was finishing his last day of training. We felt secure the entire trip. I'd like to think that years of canoeing and kayaking also played a part. Jared and Jon T were great at telling us all about the upcoming 3 and 4 rapids and leading us through them. Happy to say not one of us fell out of the raft any time through the trip. Then we went zip lining. This was a fun way to to wind down after rafting. Tyler and Lilly were amazing! I'm not good with heights and I only feels concerned down the first line. After that, I felt completely secure and was hooting and hollering by the end of end of the run. Plus, they were a lot of fun to talk to and made our zip lining excursion so much fun. I highly recommend going zip lining, too! My husband and kids had never gone whitewater rafting and I hadn't been in years. Today was an incredible experience, something we will certainly remember for years to come. And should we return to this area or any of the surrounding states to whitewater raft again, we'll absolutely choose Wildwater Ltd.

Had a wonderful time today with Outdoor Chattanooga's Pedal to Paddle adventure…read more The equipment was in great condition, the route was perfect, the price was criminally low and the people staffing the outing were knowledgeable, friendly and fun! The day started at 8:30 am at the Philip Grymes center at Coolidge Park. After a safety briefing and outline of the days events, we rode bicycles 6 miles upstream along the Riverwalk. We had a couple of breaks and were given interesting facts about the areas we were riding through. We reached the boat ramp where the kayaks were waiting for us in about an hour and a half. After a safety briefing and equipment issue, we were on our way, paddling with the current back to Coolidge Park. There were 12 of us, including the two OC employees and it took us an hour and 40 minutes to get back to the canoe ramp. The entire day (4 hours) was laid back and fun...no stress. This was a fantastic local adventure and I highly recommend it!

The instructors, from my experience and what I heard, were super animated and energetic! They made the experience for us first timers, a breeze and fun. There's a photographer who follows you along the way in which you can purchase all the photos at the end for $45. Given the quality of the photos, I feel as though it's a very fair price especially as we ended up with almost 40 pictures to look through. Overall, I had a perfect first white water rafting experience. There's bathrooms, showers, and changing rooms on site if you want to freshen up for the long car ride home. All the staff members were great especially our guide, Justin!! I would love love to come again and do the longer 6 hour ride in the near future. Highly recommend this company!
