Beautiful Sunset Cruise, But Inconsistent Hours at the Gift Shop…read more We had a lovely time aboard the Southern Belle for their Sunset Cruise. When we boarded, we made our way to the middle deck, front of the boat--and found the perfect little spot with a private table and chairs. It felt like our own peaceful corner of the river. No crowd, just a quiet, relaxing ride with amazing views of the Chattanooga skyline and surrounding scenery as the sun set. Absolutely gorgeous. After docking, we decided to eat at the restaurant above the gift shop. It was a great way to end the evening--the food was tasty, and the river views from the deck made it even better. We asked the staff what time the gift shop closed and were told 9:00 PM, so we waited until after dinner to pick up souvenirs. Unfortunately, by the time we finished eating (maybe 10 minutes later), the shop had already closed. Kind of a bummer. Since then, we've tried to return twice while driving through Chattanooga--hoping to grab some mementos--but no one answers the phone, and the gift shop hasn't been open either time. Their posted hours on both the website and Google are clearly off, which has made it pretty frustrating. All in all, we loved the cruise and highly recommend it, especially if you can snag a quiet spot on the deck. Just don't count on the gift shop being open--even if you're told otherwise. Buy your souvenirs before dinner just to be safe!

A nice midday diversion in the heart of Chattanooga…read more NOTE: The day before our trip, the venue called to say there would be 152 middle schoolers on the boat with us. They offered to move us to another date or refund, but we were coming from out of town and had no more availability, so we kept our booking. Location and Parking Located right on the riverfront, parking is available in a paid lot across from the dock. Venue and Atmosphere Enter through the gift shop, which is a replica of the boat. After we checked in and got our tokens and complimentary moon pie, we headed upstairs to the full service restaurant and bar. They have happy hour (BOGO free beers) all day Monday-Friday, which came as a pleasant surprise to us. The charcuterie board was delicious, colorful, and filling as well. All of the restaurant food here can be taken onto the boat, so off we went to enjoy a late lunch on the deck. The middle school group corralled on the first floor, so we enjoyed the second floor completely to ourselves. I must say this was the most welcome surprise of the day. The live narrator was knowledgable with a soothing voice. A few time he had to stop to get the kids under control or remind a chaperone to come ot the deck, but kids will be kids I guess. Service Service was prompt, courteous, and efficient; and we had the sweetest bartender. Food and Beverages We had two Angry Orchard Ciders and a charceuterie board. Everything was delicious! Verdict I'll be back for the sunset cruise one day!

This Marina is a nightmare. My wife and I rented a vessel from Harbor Lights for four days as part…read moreof a week-long getaway. When we arrived, we were given the incorrect boat because the original rental was "broken". When we departed the Marina with the new vessel, we looked down and noticed that the gas gauge read "empty". We turned around immediately. The gas station attendant told us that the gas gauge was "broken" and assured us that the boat had a full tank. He advised us to fill it up at a local marina each morning (to be safe). We used the boat for about 2.5 hours (that same day) and found ourselves stranded in the middle of the lake. We called the marina and they offered NO ASSISTANCE. We eventually had to swim to shore and ask a random lakeside homeowner for help. They were kind enough to tow us back to our rental home. The marina sent a repairman to take a look at the vessel. After sitting with him for about an hour, he determined that we had run out of gas. He apologized on behalf of the marina and suggested that we go to the nearest gas station and put 5 gallons of gas in the boat (God forbid he'd have provided it himself). He also assured us the gas gauge was BROKEN. We woke up the next morning, bought a gas can, put 5 gallons in the boat, and went to the nearest marina. We filled up the boat (40+ gallons), and to our surprise the gas gauge worked GREAT! We used the boat for the remaining three days with no issues. When we returned to the marina, I asked to speak to the manager, "Lewis", and explained what had happened a few days prior. He was condescending, rude, derogatory, and acted as if we couldn't read a gas gauge (along with the original gas station attendant). He finally agreed to return "5 hours of usage" for the first day (because we had enjoyed the first "3 hours of usage", give me a break...) and suggested we call first thing the following week. He also credited us for our gas at the end of our four day session (so kind), which we returned empty (since that's how we received it). We called back the following week. Lewis was again rude and disrespectful, this time to my wife, and told us we wouldn't be receiving anything beyond our "free gas". Worst customer service I've ever had in my ENTIRE LIFE. STAY AWAY!

There is a 2 lane paved road leading to the location, you do NOT need an SUV, it's a totally normal road. The driveway is very steep as are almost all driveways here as we are in the mountains. There is a large gravel road/dam that you drive across to get to their location. Yes there was some boat wake maybe 5 xs the entire trip we were passed by a boat (and it's the week of the 4th of July) no one tipped, the kids loved riding the wake. There was a nice little picnic area and we waited here for the guide approximately ten minutes as we were instructed by our confirmation text when booking. The life jackets are in good condition and hanging on a clothesline. I have no idea if they sanitize them because I didn't ask. The bathroom is a little yard barn deal with a flushing toilet and shower and it was immaculate. It does have a curtain for a door but I was completely concealed. It is different than other kayaking places because there's not much of a current my 12-year-old went and was able to paddle up and downstream without any issue. It was a nice day, reasonably priced and met our expectations. Pros Incredibly beautiful Easy to find Friendly staff Reasonably priced A bit of a workout paddling Cons Not very shaded in open water so hot Waited a bit (ten minutes) for guide A bit of a workout paddling The sign for the location is after the driveway, they could improve this (solution.... we backed up ten feet ;))
