I'm really glad that we took the time to spend a few hours and even spend the night here. This is a really beautiful lake to be able to have a very calm and relaxing time. There are a lot of folks doing night fishing but they do a pretty good job of not shining their lights into the camping area where the tent campers are at. We camped with our tent about 15 ft from the river and it was lovely. The day we arrived was a little bit tricky because we stopped and inquired about camping and we were told if there was not a tent, then the spot was available and to pitch our tent come back and tell him the site #, pay the fee. We did that. But when we got back he said "oh except for that spot". So then we had to move our tent over one spot, however nobody showed up in the spot that we were at that night or the next day so not sure what happened there. But when it was all said and done we had a nice little corner all to ourselves. This is definitely a place that is very convenient to get to off of interstate 24 and if you are on a road trip I would definitely recommend stopping and paying $15 to park there for the night. They also have on the other side of the island an area for RV parking. $30 rate per night, however you can rent an RV spot for a month for $500 and it includes water electric and there is a dump station. Oh! And there is a bathhouse. There is 2 men's rooms with toilet sink and shower, and there is 2 women's rooms with toilet sink and shower. The use of these facilities is included in the camping rate. If you were just here for a day trip there is a really nice boat ramp as well as on the other side there is a park area that is available for use during the day and there are picnic tables and a swimming area that looks really nice. We launched our kayak off of our campsite and went around the lake over to the Tennessee River. When you get to the Tennessee River if you take a left (SW), there is a beautiful cliff face that has birds singing very loudly and it's just stunning. If instead, you go to the right, there is another large area with a big lake and if you look forward and a little to your left (SE) you might see a train going by in the distance.

The park itself is very nice with a huge lake. Do note we decided to get a spot directly on the lake side since there was a ton of open spots. However I would recommend staying away from the spots at the edge of the lake. There are a lot of geese here and apparently they take quite large and nasty poops... the edge of the lake is covered in geese poop... you learn something new everyday. Other than that it's lovely. Only water and electric although there is a dump station.

There are hiking trails and a stocked fishing pond we were welcome to fish -- all that along with peace and quiet - it was a slice of heaven. Located on top of Sand Mountain with abundant wildlife respected at every turn. The owners have gotten this property designated as a Certified Wildlife Habitat. They did indeed stress there were certain rules for guests due to that, but I thought it was great! A little patio out front was ideal to watch the ducks in the lake while we had our morning coffee. What we got was ... the absolute perfect location to spend a night above a 50ft waterfall that lullabied us to bed. A perfect storm came through in the night to maintain that REM. Then a fuller waterfall and a few dozen songbirds to wake us up in the morning. Not even temped to hit the snooze button on that! Mr.Miller's hospitality is superb. He enjoys sharing his creativity, which is impressive, and thanks to it we had a perfect glamper to stay in and have this great experience. We took our time getting up, had some coffee, and drank it on the back deck as we watched the waterfall, yes you read that right ..... waterfall is visible from the glamper, just laying in bed I can lift my head and see it. After morning, coffee we hiked down to the bottom of the falls and soaked in the beauty and the privacy of it.

Came here with Troop 513 and our Boy Scouts and adults really enjoyed a truly wonderful and satisfying experience. The cave exploration is definitely an adventure and challenging and pushes you to the limit while being guided by experienced guides. Our cave guides were Tristan and Emily and both were very kind, helpful, and knowledgeable of the cave and their experience definitely made what would have otherwise been a very frustrating and difficult task a fun and truly memorable experience. Tip: you can bring your phone if you aren't afraid to possibly damage or lose it as you will be crawling and squeezing through many parts of the adventure. 5 stars for the cave adventure and 5 stars for the campgrounds. Thank you for all you do for the scouts and making this great experience available to the public!

The campground is beautiful with the exception of a condemned building, debri lying around, leaves…read morepiled high in the middle of campsites. The staff is unfriendly. The Manager confronted us at our campsite after we complained about a parking issue. She brought 3 staff members to our camper. She instructed one staff member to turn on her body camera after and film us. True story folks! We came to Chattanooga for a race. I would never return. We packed up and left immediately. I felt unsafe at this campground. I do NOT recommend.

They supply the yaks, paddles, and life jackets (required). It's a good time. The guides will educated you on the bats, Lake Nickajack, and the history of the area. It's around a 3 mile paddle total at a leisurely pace. The bats. Basically, at bat time, you'll float around near the bat cave until the bats start to sweep out. It's a spectacle. Lots of bats, most of them flying close to the water. Nice. Do it. It's worth it.

Her bat facts during the bat cave adventure were so cool and it was such a great experience. You get to make a small new family for the adventure and I even got to meet some of Sunshine's amazing family who were all extremely helpful if I had any questions. I plan to try the yoga adventure soon!! It's water therapy, all kinds of Sunshine and good energy rolled into one!

Do not take anything to this place to be fixed it has several bad ratings over the last year I took…read morea jet ski there to get repaired and they did the work and I took the jet ski and put it in the water it ran good but unfortunately they did not put my drain plug back in and it sank all of the engine compartment filled with water and it hydrolocked and all of the electronics in the engine compartment were underwater. I called the owner to speak with him about this situation and he told me that they didn't use the drain port to run it they had a cooling Port that they hooked up to which you would know and I know is a complete lie! They would not take responsibility now I am $430 out for the repair it does not run I cannot figure out how to get it running so it's just sitting there. These people are incompetent
