Canon as part of the history
Eileen H.

My husband and I used our Senior National Park pass to cover the admission fee. We were on a road trip north and we used this as a place to take a break and enjoy the beautiful view.

We were told by the locals to check out Point Park and all the views it had to offer. Not to mention it's a part of American history which aids in my love for American history. We decided to visit the park after our hike at Rock City and we were not disappointed. It was 7$ per person for admission and paid parking, we spent an hour exploring the park and the views with our dogs. Was one of the best parks and views I've seen in our time at Chattanooga.

Beautiful place to spend a few hours. Views are awesome, park well maintained. Many miles of trails for hiking.

A canon overlooks downtown Chattanooga from Point Park in Lookout Mountain, Tennessee.

Point Park offers the most stunning view of downtown Chattanooga and the Tennessee River you will find. Unless you're an eagle. Then that view wins. Officially known as Lookout Mountain Battlefield and Point Park, it is part of the Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park. Why did I just spit out that mouthful? Because I wanted to know this is a National Park Service property. You have to pay admission, but here is a great big, epic, happy caution: the $5 per person admission is good for 7 days, so if you're here for a weekend or a week you don't have to pay every time you visit. I learned that the hard way. I hope they appreciate my $15 in four days. The park is small, but packed with so many wonderful things to see. There is a towering monument at the center. An overlook with a pair of benches with a view of Chattanooga. But the best part is a short walk down to the Ochs Museum. The museum is located at the northern most tip of Lookout Mountain with the most spectacular view you'll find (unless you're an eagle, remember?). Step inside the one-room museum for a photographic walk through the history of the mountain. You can enjoy the view from one of the many scenic overlooks, take a walk around the loop trail, or spend time learning about Civil War history. You can spend as little as twenty minutes here, or as much as hours. However much time you spend, it will be worth every minute.

There's plenty of hiking here as well, with trails to Ochs Museum & Observatory and beyond.

Came here with Troop 513 and our Boy Scouts and adults really enjoyed a truly wonderful and satisfying experience. The cave exploration is definitely an adventure and challenging and pushes you to the limit while being guided by experienced guides. Our cave guides were Tristan and Emily and both were very kind, helpful, and knowledgeable of the cave and their experience definitely made what would have otherwise been a very frustrating and difficult task a fun and truly memorable experience. Tip: you can bring your phone if you aren't afraid to possibly damage or lose it as you will be crawling and squeezing through many parts of the adventure. 5 stars for the cave adventure and 5 stars for the campgrounds. Thank you for all you do for the scouts and making this great experience available to the public!

The Manager confronted us at our campsite after we complained about a parking issue. She brought 3 staff members to our camper. I felt unsafe at this campground. I do NOT recommend.
