    A view from the quarry
    Sara L.

One of the great characteristics of Chattanooga is all of the hiking options! Even in the colder months, Greenway Farms is a great stroll through the woods. There's shorter gravel paved paths and longer trails leading down to the creek, quarry, or just a tree shaped journey. And a dog has the same options or his or her own park area. In the warmer months, kayaking and outdoor concerts are options. Tucked away in the suburb of Hixson, Greenway Farms is highly recommended for anyone needing their nature fix.

My local friend took me here, one of her go-to kayaking spots. The water was placid, with turtles darting up to say hello and trees arching over into the water. It was quiet, serene, with few other people out. It was great to have passing conversations with other kayakers as we paddled along, some people bringing their dogs. If you're new to kayaking or just looking for something more calm, this is an excellent alternative to the more active Tennessee River and won't take you out of your way. Gorgeous place.

Lots of trails, plenty of places to walk, and lovely place to just spend the day if you're into athletics. my dogs and I frequently come here for exercise. They have a kayak launch. It's a good place to walk, jog, or find a very challenging road course. There's also have 2 acre dog park here that's very nice. There is a building for rentals if you want to hold a wedding party or host something.

Wonderful park and trail. Looks like a great place to let the dog play in the dog park, and the stream looks inviting for canoes. We did some trail walking and running.

Great park. Trails, fenced off areas for large dogs and a deprecate one for small ones with benches and a few agility course tools. There is also a giant field. 10/10 park

I didn't utilize the dog park because my dog didn't come with us on this trip to Chattanooga. But, my husband and I hiked to the quarry with our toddler. It was a short, easy walk. The view was incredible, so I definitely recommend taking about 20 minutes to walk there and back!

    Perfect park for kite flying.

We parked in parking lot 3 and walked on over. This dog park has some wonderful offerings. Not only is it located in the beautiful wooded, shaded, and peaceful nature park, it is also full of fun amenities for your furry family members.  The dog park is on an enclosed 1 acre space for off leash play and exercise with a variety of fun and thoughtful touches. There's a dog-friendly sandbox, different agility course features, and a splash pad. Other amenities include a dog water fountain, dog wash station, benches, and dog waste stations with courtesy bags. Current park hours are open 7 days a week, 7AM to 7PM, and access is FREE! We also heard that supposedly, the park staff will be working on an expansion to the Barks and Tails Dog Park, increasing it's size to about 4 acres and incorporating a trail into the space as well. It's pretty exciting!

This park is well maintained, with restroom facilities, and offers easy hiking trails, paved paths to jog, walk, cycle, or push strollers. Keep in mind that if you walk on the area where vehicles can drive on, all pedestrians are supposed to be on a certain side of the road. Just follow all the signage and instructions around the park. The park staff are friendly, and it's nice that maps are provided in the welcome center as well as select map stations around the park. A police vehicle is stationed at the front and is occasionally seen patrolling the park. Another neat park feature of the park is the bunkers! We've found at least one open to view inside. Supposedly, the bunkers were used to store TNT. The cherry on top to this park, though, is the newly added dog park, Barks and Tails. Our dog LOVES it, and so do we. Enterprise South Nature Park is really wonderful and an easy place to enjoy a fun filled outing.
