I got a small dog in 2020 during the pandemic and ever since have been finding ways I can still go out, travel and have a good time while involving my pup! So when these new ideas of dog parks with approved alcohol on site became popular, I always searched any city I traveled to for any dog friendly options like these. And I was so happy to have found Play Wash Pint! They require most of the usual shots including Bordetella, but not the Leptospirosis. The first time we visited, my dog didn't have that shot but thankfully it is not required like it is at Fetch Park in Atlanta. Once you check in/pay/all the admin stuff, you are ushered directly to the bar and you can order (human) drinks, treats, toys, whatever you want! They also have (paid) dog wash stations which are super convenient if you need! If you skip the bar inside, never fret because there's another (more limited) bar outside in the park. And there are plenty of beers both canned and draft available. I do appreciate that the draft beers are served in plastic branded cups - we don't want broken glass in the park for sure! Love all the local draft brews! My one complaint would be that the dogs are all together in one park. My pup has been frightened a couple times too many by the bigger dogs, none of which had bad intentions, but she was already nervous about being the newest dog in the park and ever since the first time she got frightened by a few overeager dogs, she seems to have become scared of the park overall. She'd previously enjoyed running around with other dogs of all sizes and greeting new people. I did know there is a park split off from the larger dog park for small dogs available for hee but it appears to be pretty quiet and lack the fun amenities, i.e. the water fountains/pool, of the larger area. Also, most of the dogs at Play Wash Pint are in the larger park area. Even after the first incident that my pup got scared off, we have tried to bring her back a few more times but it seems like she's only comfortable in the park now if we're within a few feet. And even if we are close by, she tends to keep to herself versus socializing with the other dogs. Since we are from out of town, we are scared to risk dropping $10+ for her to just sit there so a day pass doesn't seem always worth it. Anyway, if anyone has any recommendations, I would love to learn of any tips to helping my pup become less skittish in this environment! I definitely don't think Play Wash Pint is bad for her, but also don't want to force her to come to a place she doesn't like. I love being able to go to a place where I can enjoy the park with her while also sipping on a beer! read more

Amazing place! We haven't washed Bear here yet, but I'm sure that part is great. The community here is amazing, everyone wants to chat, perfect place to come for a social night. Bear is still a little scared of bigger dogs, but he'll grow out of that. Super clean, fun water feature. Dogs have to pay cover and humans can buy drinks. We are such big fans of this concept! Dog parks alone are great but add in beer, music, and friends, this one knocks it out of the park. The main value for us is having the "rangers" around to help police unruly dogs. They are only lacking in 5 stars because over the last couple months it has seemed sort staffed. Personally, I rarely feel comfortable in the park without knowing a ranger is nearby. When it's fully staffed, this is our favorite hangout spot in town! read more

Awesome spot to hang with dogs! We showed up right before opening time on Friday and were the first ones there but there was quickly a line that formed before opening and the place was packed within minutes of the doors being unlocked. We received great service as they helped us set up our account and explained the park to us. They have a great beer/cider selection and some unique spots for the dogs to play, including a couple fire hydrants with water coming out of them, a long straightaway to play fetch, and some obstacles. Also tons of spots for humans to sit. I appreciated the early 2000s pop punk they had blasting, too. A great place to socialize or get some work done, and our dogs loved it. read more

Second visit to this crazy fun place for the poochies! They love to run and play. Plenty of toys, tennis balls and agility equipment too. There are attendants to help with cleanups and aggressive behavior (which seems rare.) The cost per dog is $10... up from $5 last year. They have a dog wash station and a bar for the latest and best Chattanooga brews. There is annual memberships if you choose. This dog park was a must-visit on our doggie vaca to Chattanooga, and after leaving tonight, we're regretting not bringing our boys here every night we've been in town! You can't beat $5 weeknight passes, with decently priced drinks (I got an incredible raspberry cider!), and dog chews on the way out. Staff was so, so friendly and helpful! They had water bottles to correct pups and doggie poop bags readily available. It was super clean--staff walked around with cleanser after poops. The turf was a huge bonus, as it had rained all night and much of the day, yet the dogs were able to play without getting absolutely filthy. This is such a SUPER cool place! They offer some doggie supplies, a place to wash your pup, play yards and you can grab a cold one while you're there. I spotted this place while we were at lunch and our server told me about this little piece if puppy dog heaven. You can just go over and love on the doggies that are there! So I did! They also offer a doggie daycare. While I couldn't go in that yard, I stopped and watched them too. Each doggie has their own cubby to store their stuff! The staff were very friendly and welcoming even to a person who didn't have a dog :) I will be stopping by on visits to Chattanooga for sweet puppy pets! read more

some of the workers are racist. I am one of the few (less than 4) black customers that I've seen here before and for some reason they just keep getting on me about any little thing. I've personally witnessed other visitors (non-black) have their dogs off leash or proceed to leash them up when they enter but I'm the only person reprimanded and written up for this. I visit with a lot of things to carry and set my dogs leash down to pay and instead of offering help the worker makes a snarky remark about "telling me he needs to be leashed and they've told me many times before". But I've seen them help others before in the same scenario but only difference is these ppl are white. There are so many negative experiences that I can recount; if this wasn't my dogs favorite (the packed crowd) I would never come back. I'll admit, I didn't take either one of my dogs here, they weren't with me this trip. I know, sad day. I was walking around the downtown Chattanooga area and stumbled upon this concept. Genius concept, I must add!! The fenced in space isn't huge, but should be enough for the pups to socialize, while you drink beer! Told ya, genius! It's definitely an urban dog park concept. The grass is turf, so no worries about mud and taking your pup home a mess if you decide not to participate in the "wash". If I lived near here, I'd be a frequenter, I mean my two Cocker Spaniels would. Luckily, I wouldn't have to go broke, because they offer memberships, that way is more cost effective for the frequenters. read more

Staff made us feel like our dog is untrained and unwelcome because she barked a few times while correcting dogs for unwanted behavior towards her. Staff is clearly untrained about dog behavior and expect all dogs to act perfect at all times. That's ruff. This place is not for any working or herding breed type of dog. read more

I wanted to go check this place out 'cuz I have a dog. And he needs a wash. And I could have used a pint. I love love the concept. An urban dog park. Thought I'd give it a shot, and for $5 you can try it out for a day. Not a bad deal. I'm glad they have that option to try it out and not have to purchase a membership. That's a great thing because I discovered my dog is not really in to it. He is not a dog lover. LOL. He'll tolerate other dogs for a bit but then just wants to hide from them, and there really aren't any places to hide. He just wants to go to a park and have other people pet him. The good news is that there were two girls who didn't have dogs and they just wanted to come hang out and pet other people's puppers. Owney, my dog, loved that. He was a man-whore with these two girls. LOL. There was a kiddie pool that the dogs could run and play in. My dog doesn't like those either. He doesn't like getting wet. It's also a pretty small place, so with the dogs and the people, I can see it getting really crowded and not so fun. I didn't think there was enough seating areas and not enough shade. It gets fricking hot here, so at the very least I need some shade. Maybe even think about getting those water mister thingies. IDK. So my experience doesn't mean it's a bad place at all, it's just not for my dog. I can't see spending the money for him to not really enjoy being there. Man...I hate to be the guy who leaves the one bad review...ESPECIALLY when this place is really a cool concept. Everything all of the other reviews is mostly true. It is a great place to bring your dog and hang out with other dog lovers while having a delicious craft beer. I really really really want to leave a five star review alas after going to PWP 4 times, here are the issues. 1- While Jessica who works there is very likable, friendly and accommodating the rest of the staff runs the spectrum from grudgingly helpful to full on unfriendly. As an example, the register/bar staff was super busy one day. In order to not waste their time when it was my turn to order a beer, I was checking out the glass front beer cooler. Several of the rows of beer cans were turned sideways or backwards so you couldn't see what they were so I opened the cooler and spun a couple to face forward so I could see what they were...the previously uninterested-in-me staffer pounced over to tell me "You can't open the cooler, it's against the law and we can get in trouble" in a really pissed off manner. There are no signs or anything saying to that effect, who could possibly know that it's illegal to do something that you would do at the average convenience store? Anyway, it wasn't even that I was asked not to do something, it was just done in a really nasty uncalled for tone. 2. Day passes are a pain in the ass. I get it, they want to sell memberships and make recurrent revenue, what business doesn't? My schedule doesn't allow me to come enough where the membership prices make sense even though I would still love to come every week and a half or two weeks. To make it a pain in the ass for day pass customers they don't keep any of your info so you have to fill out all of the paperwork every time and bring your dogs vaccination records EVERY SINGLE TIME. That is really cheesy and a crappy way to treat people who WANT to be your customers. 3. Don't bring kids. We came four times with our 15 year old kid. He is mature...he drives...he is a volunteer who walks animals for the Humane Society. So one day...we all pack up for PWP, drive all the way there, forgot vaccination records, drive back home, get the vaccination records that they should keep on file, drive back to PWP, wait in line, fill out the paperwork again that they should keep on file. Then we are told that the same kid who has been there many times can't come in because they are now enforcing the rules that they haven't in the past. So that was like an hour ordeal that was REALLY unnecessary and through all of these issues, everyone was super unfriendly. 4. They stay busy and it often seems understaffed, there is often a big wait for beer and check in and also a long wait to return you insulated beer cups. The setup is just really inefficient and not geared towards customer ease. 5. This is a tiny issue but...put a beer holding shelf in the dog bath areas. The only place to rest your beer is on the shampoo area of the actual tub where it is destined to be drenched with dog shake water and shampoo. I really hate to leave a bad review. Once you are safely in and have a cold beer in hand it's great (if you avoid the surly staff). So, maybe if you know this stuff in advance you can work around the self-imposed issues that PWP creates...or maybe they can make one or two easy adjustments and work to make this place a really great experience. I have been using Play Wash Pint since they opened last year. Originally was a monthly member (which they have eliminated) and now I am an annual member. I live super close so this is extremely convenient for me. I have seen all the developments they have made since they opened and they are constantly trying to improve. The weekends and prime times are usually pretty busy so be prepared to wait to sign in and get drinks. Typically I get waved through since they know me. I personally have never had an issue with the staff here and I am still learning names of some of the newer staff. I will admit my dog has gotten into some fights over toys here so as with all dog parks know your dog and monitor accordingly. The staff watch especially during busy times to prevent tiffs but their eyes can't be everywhere at all times. read more

If you've spent any time in any other dog park, get ready for your mind to be blown by Play Wash Pint. First: It's a dog park with a bar. You probably have stopped reading and are rushing over there just hearing that part, but hear me out because it's awesome for so many more reasons. Second: All dogs that play here must be fixed (if they're more than a year old). You know what that means, dog owners: No aggressive humping by intact male dogs! Third: All dogs that play here must be up-to-date on their shots, and their owners have to show proof (either brought with them or submitted online ahead of time) before their dog is allowed out in the yard. You only have to do this once, so whether you want to buy a membership or just pay for each visit, once your pupper's info is on file you are set for the year. Once they're legal, they can play in either the main/big dog yard or the small dog yard (which is often used for dogs that need a bit of time to warm up to the idea of playing with other dogs). Both yards have toys and some really cool, agility like playground equipment. There's a long "hallway" at the back of the yard where you can throw a ball (or in my dog's case, where she can go take a crap as soon as we get there). Fourth: They have memberships! You can spend $5 for a day pass, or you can pay $20/month ($25 for two dogs) or $150 for a year ($175 for two dogs). Somehow having to pay a fee, even a small one, cuts down on the usual worst dog park offenders: The people who show up, dump their dogs and then go sit in the car, leaving the rest of the people standing around to watch after their pups. PWP isn't a free daycare, and if you're not looking after your dog you'll probably be asked to leave. Fifth: Play Wash Pint has staff in the yard and inside, and they will help break up any tussles between dogs and redirect aggressive dogs away from more timid ones. It seems like they've had some training in dog behavior, because they're pretty good at figuring out if a dog is just playing or if it's getting too riled up. The owners usually step in before it gets to this point, but it's nice to know someone is managing the yard, too. The staff is all super friendly, and they remember most of the dogs' names who come here! My two dogs feel like celebrities because every time we walk in they're called out by name. It's like their Cheers, basically. Sixth: I mentioned they have beer, right? A handful of taps (they do tap takeovers occasionally) and an impressive can selection. They also sell treats for dogs, strategically placed low so my fat dog can stick her face in all the buckets on the way out and run up my bill. (She's totally worth it.) Five stars are not enough to express how great this place is. I'm surprised more cities don't have dog parks like this, but I'm super glad Chattanooga has Play Wash Pint now. read more

Our pups absolutely love it here. Become a member - much more cost effective and check-in is so smooth because they keep your dogs records on file. Beer selection is quite extensive between draft and can options. Can be pricey but they have specials for members and you're at a dog park with your dogs and other dog minded people so you get over that part quick. We met some friends here and brought our two children. After we walked through the building past several workers and into the yard, a manager stormed out of the building yelling that children aren't allowed. It made quite the scene. Anyone in management with intelligence would have know to do that quietly and respectfully. We will never go back. The park had about 10 dogs in it with owners, most of them not drinking beer at the time (2:30pm in the afternoon), but still a great place to gather with happy dogs and very clean. Awesome atmosphere! Genius idea having a dog park and a bar! Everyone enjoyed themselves and had a decent selection of beer. They need to come up with a better system when it comes to ordering drinks and starting a tab. They only had one register going and there was a line of people trying to get drinks. One lady behind the bar turned us away when we asked for a refill and said you had to go down by the register. Fill the cup, take my money to the register bring me back the change and I'll tip ya! This is a fun business concept and we have always had a great time with our dog at PWP. But a warning: do not pay in advance. I paid for a year, which gives unlimited visits. However our dog got into a few fights and we have been banned. I don't blame PWP for this. They need to do what they think is best to insure safety. But not refunding my money, was pretty low. It was a significant amount of money. And now we're feeling pretty negative about PWP. read more

Love this place for our dog. Reason for 4 stars and not 5 is they are the only drinking establishment that won't give their WiFi password. I would think a place that charges to bring your dog to play as well as serves beer would want their guests to have access to WiFi to post to social media to better their business. Also they have no hand wash stations for human patrons or sanitizing areas within the dog play area. We gladly pick up our dog poop but would request hand sanitizer stations. So complimentary WiFi password and hand sanitizer would make this place awesome. For now it's just almost awesome. read more
