We loved that Coolidge Park has a fun water feature where kids were playing--on a hot day, it looked incredibly refreshing. Luna isn't a fan of being sprayed, but we got her close enough for a bit of splash to help cool her down. It seemed like a great spot for dogs who enjoy the water! Unfortunately, the pedestrian bridge was under construction during our visit, so we couldn't walk across it, but we still enjoyed the view from the park. Overall, it's a lovely, dog-friendly spot to relax and cool off on a warm day. read more

Beautiful Chattanooga waterfront park! Great views of downtown Chattanooga. Love the water fountains to enjoy and cool off on a hot day. They have a nice size walking trail that circles around the park. The park also has green area for a picnic or lawn recreational sports. Great space to take kids. They can ride bikes around the lawn. The park features a nice stage that hosts local musicians. Parking is plentiful with space around the park and under the bridge. The area has a few restaurants and shops within walking distance. A local outfitter also offers water activities rentals like paddle boards canoes and motorized ski. Definitely worthy of a visit! read more

This is a park that's connected/flanking Renaissance Park that also has awesome views of the river and of Walnut Street bridge. You can walk along the river for quite a bit if you want to jog or walk around. There were plenty of people walking their dogs. There's also a carousel, but it wasn't open which made sense given I visited on a weekday during winter. It was pretty cute though! There's restaurants nearby so this park is great spot to head over to walk around after a meal. read more

Such a beautiful park! Plenty of public parking in many areas near the park. Clean public restrooms in the pavilion. Great views of the riverfront! The walnut street bridge is accessible from here and many people hang out in the green space playing games and running around. There is a carousel (indoors) and a great splash pad! My kiddos loved it. We saw a few food trucks nearby and there are many restaurants within walking distance and a really cool Chalkboard Alley! read more

Walked through here to go to the art festival. It was a cold day. The first thing I noticed was the adorable water fountain with animals (turned off in the winter) but looks like one you can play in during the summer. Cute! Very spacious, good event location. read more

This park is actually connected to Renaissance so you can easily walk from one to another. The views of the river are great and there is a lot of seating. The few times I've been there have been multiple soccer games going on so the park never seems to be empty. In addition to paid parking there are a few spots on the street where you can park for free. read more

Came for 7 Bridges marathon. Great scenery and clean park. Park is along the river, but there are shops and restaurants bordering the park. The only issue I saw is the parking. You have to pay to park everywhere. Living in Phoenix and Atlanta we don't have to pay much, if at all, to park. Can't wait to go back for next year's race, though. read more

This is a nice park, and I especially like how there were lots of people there, even in the middle of the day on a week day. It made it more a more lively place to be. If you like people watching, this could be a good spot for you. If you walk around a bit you can find some fun things. There was this fake band setup made of metal, where you could play drums or hit some tubes to make music... though it doesn't make the prettiest music. There was a game kind of like hopscotch but in a swirly formation instead of a straight line. I also liked this world map made of stone, and it had a star at Chattanooga. The park has great views of the river and some cool looking bridges (I'm sure they are something specific but I'm not sure). It was peaceful but a fun place at the same time. read more

Coolidge Park is a beautiful outdoor space along the Tennessee River. They have a great carousel (with hand carved animals), giant splash pad for little kids, and miles of attractive walking trails. The trails go along the river and into some wooded areas. Adjacent to the park, there are many good restaurants, shops, coffee, etc. It'a also right next to a large pedestrian bridge that crosses the TN River. This is the type of park that you could easily spend several hours enjoying. Lots to see and do. Highly recommended. read more

One of the best parks I have ever been to. It is so beautiful right on the Tennessee River. Plenty of green space that you can find a spot to sit or play without being crowded or near others. It has great spaces to walk and if you want to host an event some great pavilions and indoor facilties to rent. It is close to many unique shops and restaurants too. It's pretty easy to park even though you will have to pay. read more

Coolidge Park is a lovely little park that has a lot of life despite its small size. I happened to be walking through around 5:30pm on prom night and all the local high schoolers were wearing the most gorgeous dresses and posing for pictures in the beautiful sunshine. I saw a plaque that read, "If Trees Could Sing", where apparently musicians tell you a bit about the types of trees planted there, but I couldn't get the QR code to scan. Really cool idea though! There's a carousel, river access for kayaking, and of course the bridge to walk across. read more

Nice park! We accessed this park after crossing the Walnut Street bridge, and just people watched during our time here. Located literally below Walnut Street bridge, this park is part of the 13 mile greenway. We didn't walk the entire park, but what we did see was very nice. From the nearby welcome center, we made our way to the very child popular fountain. Beautiful fountain that was again humming with attention from the kids around. The park extends to the nearby river and along this lovely walk are several benches and access points to take your kayak to the water, as we saw several people doing. Because of time constraints, we stopped at a bench and people watched for about 10 more minutes before we headed back to the nearby Walnut Street Bridge. There are several events that happen here, most notably is the 7 bridges marathon that starts at Coolidge park in October, 2019. Coolidge park was really a place we stumbled upon from the nearby bridge and river walk. Time and temperature got the best of us though, so when we pay Chattanooga a visit again, we'll spend a bit more time exploring this park! read more

I was more than a little confused by the multiple "parks" within steps of each other. However, Coolidge Park is a fun little "park" right off of the Walnut Street Bridge. At night, there's not much to see. However, I enjoyed the different art pieces and displays. At night, the carousel stopped running, but we noticed it while strolling through the park. There are plenty of art pieces and views to take pictures of and take in along the way. Great park to stop at for a post-heavy meal walk. Another must see while in Chattanooga! read more

Great park with views of the Tennessee river, bridges, and downtown Chattanooga. Walking paths meander around the park through grass lawns and woods. So easy to hang out all day here... it's very very relaxing.. with expansive grass and an easy to access bike rental rack here. Too, all of the cool eats from Northshore are only a few hundred feet away... as well, walk the Walnut Street Bridge over to the south side of the river to stretch out the jaunt! It's a wonderful place, this area... families, couples, exercise fanatics... the particular day I was enjoying Coolidge, a church as having worship on the lawn there, and I was praising as I was walking! This place has been a staple Chattanooga since I was a child! And we're talkin over 30 years now. I really like what they've done with the place kept it rather original with subtle updates here and there that makes sense to the community and the taxpayers of the city. I now get to enjoy countless moments of endless fun with my children now as I tell them about the days when I was once a boy. The only added feature I really love now is that there are a few restaurants in addition to ice cream that you could easily walk to if the belly gets the rumbling. Enjoy the Merry-Go-Round the bridge the amphitheatre the grass the river all of it. Take your time and be ready to enjoy a whole day at this park. I am a fan of this park on the Northside of Chattanooga...plenty of parking in the pay lot..only $1 for an hour $2 for four hours and $4 all day...great bargain and walking distance to the Park..to the Walnut Street Bridge, and to Frazier Street.... Beautiful. $1 per person to ride. Great fun for young children up through adults. You have to pay to park in the area but the park is large and kid and animal friendly. We visited in the winter time but it has fountains for playing in during the summer. There are several restaurants and coffee shops nearby. read more

This is most beautiful park I have ever been to. Also, it's convenient to restaurants and tourists attractions. There are also bars and numerous stores close by. So, after you come here, there are other things you can do. For example, if you are here in the winter and you get cold, there is plenty of coffee shops nearby. If you are here in the summer, and you get hot, there are plenty of ice cream shops nearby. You can ride you bike down here too as well. Also, bring a ball or frisbee if you like. Came here to visit from out of town. Wide open well kept spaces with fun things around. There are paths to walk and a splash play area for the kids (and of course parents too :). There is the bridge to walk nearby and the carousel, with very affordable rides (I think $1 each). read more

It houses the carousel building, and has some walking paths and a view of the river (and the Riverfront neighborhood of Chattanooga just across the river). Such uniquely wonderful concerts happen in Coolidge Park! Sometimes they are widely publicized and sometimes they're only listed in an image post on Facebook. Last night I experienced Drew Holcomb and The Neighbors, Brandi Carlile, and Johnnyswim at the Moon River Festival. But 5 years ago I heard The Wood Brothers for free there. A few months ago The Dismembered Tennesseans performed at somebody's birthday party in the park. If you enjoy folk, bluegrass, or country, you'll end up at a show in Coolidge Park and you'll be so glad you did! read more

Great park located right by the Walnut Street Bridge. There is a water fountain for kids to play and an antique carousel that is $1 per ride. There is a parking lot near the park and there are facilities for people to change into and out of bathing suits. The park is also located fairly close to a small strip of cute little shops and dining areas (i.e. Good Dog, Clumpie's ice cream). We had a very lovely Saturday out here. Lots of really cute shops here next to the park as well. Can't beat a 1.00 ride on an indoor carousel either. I was a little frustrated to see all the dogs there as this out of towner read the rules on the site as well as the rules posted throughout the park that says No Dogs. The kids would have loved to bring our dog there with us too. But at least the dog owners cleaned up after the animals. Very pretty and enjoyable day outing. read more

Also a historic part of Chattanooga and a must on every tourist's list of sites. Carousel is located in the park at $1 per ride. And it's indoors and air conditioned. Adjacent to the Walnut Street Bridge. Actually part of it is below the bridge. The entrance is adjacent though. Clumpies and Good Dog, along with a few other boutiques are literally right behind the park. Perfect treats after a park visit. Very big park with a great view. Across the river from the Tennessee Aquarium. Has a fountain which was great for all the kids to run around in while it was hot. If you're from Atl, similar to Centennial Park fountain. Plenty of space to walk, sit, run or play. I think they even have hammocks out there. I didn't explore too much, as it was about 100 degrees or very close. And the heat was exhausting. Plus we had a short visit and had to squeeze so many activities into so little time. read more

This riverfront park is a great place to chill and unwind. There's plenty of benches and places to sit along the river, along with a walking trail with lots of trees and flowers. Well maintained, clean riverside park with sweeping lawns. Felt very safe with many families fishing or playing on the green. The carousel is closed and the water fountains are turned off for the time being. I understand, but it's still disappointing. A fountain would have made our visit on an extremely hot day perfect. this park is great, only downfall is that you can't take your dog! :( they are nice about it but do make sure you leave to take your dog out. They have events here and lots of space to bring a blanket and read, do yoga, throw a frisbee, etc. If you can dream it, you can do it (but without your dog) I've played frisbee here numerous times! I've also used this location for Pokémon go - and bike riding - there is a local bar close by that gives you $1 off your drink if you ride your bike there. Overall, if you have a chance to visit this side of Chattanooga and relax, do it! It's a Site to see! read more
