We have our own boat slip but needed to store our trailer. Since this place is 1 minute from our home, we chose them. Unfortunately, while they quote you monthly rental rates, you are locked in to an annual contract, you can pay monthly or get a discount if you pay the full year (not always 12 months as their year runs May to May). We eventually sold our boat and I called to see about a refund on the unused 10 months of my prepaid trailer storage. The girl who answered the phone said no problem just come on in. I did come in but found out NO REFUNDS. I did talk to the GM but he said "if we did refunds everyone would leave at the same time and they would go out of business". His logic made no sense to me. I ended up paying for almost 3 years of trailer storage when I actually only needed under 2 years. They will never get another penny out of me as I will always take my business elsewhere. Don't bother writing to the owner, Charity, ads she never responded. I guess Charity starts at home! (update) The same day I posted this review, I received an email from the owner. She told me that if you someone is storing just a trailer, you "are" eligible for a refund. They did write me a check prorated, which is fair, and I have picked it up. Now she just needs to make sure all employees realize what the policy is so others don't have to jump through as many hoops as I to get a refund. read more

The staff is GREAT, the boats not so much (I have rented both a pontoon boat and a bow rider). The operate fine but in both cases the speedometer did not work (even after I dropped down the pitot tube) and on the bow rider the trim indicator didn't work either. Also on the bow rider the transmission really jumped into gear not smooth at all. read more

Lakeshore Marina is under new management! They are doing a fabulous job improving all the docks and boat storage areas. The people running the store and the docks are extremely helpful and kind. To say they go above and beyond is not enough. I am new to dry storage and would absolutely recommend people to keep their boat here!! Thanks and keep improving the place! read more

Save your money and frustration! Place is being run by teenagers...personalities of mud sucks with their teenage asses hanging out f the bottoms, Boat rented beat up, broken trim... gas gage not functional. Life jackets wet and mildew, and no way to raise the motor to check prop. Anchor rode frayed and too short for vessel. After inspection and 400.00 deposit went to office and refused to rent the boat. Left with horrible taste towards this business. Buyer beware!!! read more

I have used other marinas over the past several years but Lakeshore is the best. Always great service easy access to the fuel docks and slips. I've even had them pull my boat out of the water several times for service and for loading in a trailer. My wife and kids can go to the lake by them selves and have no issues getting jet skis off the skids or getting fuel. The new store is awesome, they have just about anything that you would need for minor boat repairs, snacks, floats, life jackets, etc. Starting my 4th boat season at lakeshore and I love it. read more

Too bad for this company. I have rented from several marinas in the area and I will never rent from lakeshore again. The speedometer and gas gauge did not work. Then while we were anchored, the anchor tie came undone, so naturally the anchor was lost. When we got back to the marina to let them know what had happened, the only adult in the building could have cared less. Here is why this is a problem: their 16 year old staff literally walks you through the safety steps of the boat and sign off that their anchor is good to go. An anchor tie coming undone due to the staff ineptness and then signing off on it is not the customers problem. It's a safety liability the Marina signs off on. All we asked for was our gas taken care of, less than the cost of a new anchor. Well he wanted to argue, couldn't get in touch with the owner, and couldn't figure out how this was the marinas issue. It becomes an issue if you assume you are anchored and lose a swimmer due to it. The only person who had any common sense was the young girl behind the counter who gave us 50% off the gas price, despite the man arguing with her, and told us not to worry about the cost of the lost anchor. If it were not for her I would not ever rent from this marina again. Clearly this business needs kids with common sense to run their business. I may or may not ever be back. I don't need to be argued with regarding the safety of the passengers of the boat they rent out. read more

Zero stars would be given, but unfortunately, that's not an option as "something" has to be chosen. When we arrived to drop off the boat, they asked did we have the picture of the prop, it was brand new. Our friend Bob said, yes. The associate raised the motor in front of us and said, "the prop is damaged, we have to charge you. I need to go ahead and tell my manager." We looked at the prop, there was no damage, just some paint missing in spots along the blade. Associate says, I'll have to bring my manager down because I can't sign it out because there's damage. We said, it's just paint? We physically examined the prop, it was not dented, chipped , bent, scratched or scarred, only paint along the edge of the blades missing. The manager never came down, the girl cashier had to go with our associate to get the manager and he still never arrived and sent them both back to us telling us that there would be a $100 charge because they will need to repaint the prop. Meanwhile, a group came in behind us, handed their keys over and were being checked out and almost done when someone in our group asked the marina associate...... why didn't you check THIER prop? At which point.... the associate went back to the boat and raised their prop out of the water and inspected it. Bottom line...... if we caused damage.... we would pay. We are responsible adults and business people. Also, if a customer asks for a manager.... dear manager... don't ignore the customer. It's cowardice and unprofessional and will certainly lose you a customer (you accomplished that!) You lost 10 customers. Paint missing off the edge of the prop blade is normal wear and tear, not damage. The lake is full of rocks and debris. I don't like to make assumptions, but..... if I have to.... I am going to guess that this marina will repaint that prop with black spray paint and charge the next customer another $100 for the paint being off? We had the perfect day on the water with the kids and grandkids and Lakeshore Marina managed to ruin that for us (for a little while)with this experience. Poor customer service at the end of our experience. Shady business practice too. read more

Decided to have some family fun while visiting Chattanooga. We rented the 20 ft I/O which comfortably holds 6-8 people. The boat needs some tweeking and fixing, but hey, it's a rental. Wish it had a bimini top for the sun. The Lake and the River are beautiful to run on. Friendly, kind and knowledgeable people at the marina. We would definitely rent it again. read more

Pulled into the wrong marina at first (not a regular boater). Got charged a $50 late fee for being 8 minutes late. They are crooks that will nickel and dime you for everything...including an eight minute mistake of not knowing where to go. Wouldn't recommend their boat rentals. Ever. ZERO STARS!!! 100% do not recommend going there for any boat services. They don't contact you about any work done or new work they might have noticed and they are very slow. I had to go over there and talk to them just to get some answers and when I showed up they finally decided to put the boat in the water to give it the last inspection. I took it out on the water right after I got it back from them and some of the issues that I wanted them to fix weren't fixed and what ever they did fix it did something to the radio and depth reader to where they don't work anymore. Also for a week and a half they told me it was about done and they would call me when it was done but what do you know I never got that phone call. I also feel like the over charged me on the labor considering the amount of parts cost. It was there atleast a month if not longer to get the gauges on the dash working, the bilge pump and the blower motor working. They also put in a transom kit and if I had to guess that was the hardest part of the job. NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO THERE OR RECOMMEND THAT PLACE TO ANYONE EVER!!! read more

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff and owner. We had a wonderful time on the lake and the boat ran perfectly. The boat had a little damage from a previous renter, but it didn't affect the performance of the boat. When we returned the boat, a staff member was there to greet us, fill the tank and get us on our way. Wonderful experience! read more

We arrived at Lakeshore Marina at 9:45 and waited patiently for our Pontoon Boat. It arrived with fresh fish guts, fish scales, fish smells, wet, torn seats, torn carpeting, gates without working latches and a ladder that was mangled and taped together. The employee seemed to think all of this was acceptable. The fish guts were brought to his attention and he got a paper towel and picked them up. Since we were going to fish, we accepted the horrible filthy condition of the boat. By noon, the smells started to really surface. Mid afternoon, we decided to call it a day and brought the boat back to the Marina. The deckhand inspected the boat and decided that damage to one of the pontoons was caused by our landing the boat. Needless to say, he pulled the boat toward the dock from the middle bar halfway down the boat. The pontoon they say we damaged was in the very front of the boat. We never hit the dock at all on this landing. They are keeping our deposit of $400 until they have a mechanic look at it on Monday. We were disrespected by the manager and all of the employees. The overall condition of the boat clearly tells us that even when customers damage the boats, they do not fix them. Returning Deck Hand claims we damaged the front right pontoon - how could he tell ? This initial employee inspection never reviewed the front right pontoon. If we had damaged the boat in any way, we would have fessed up.. We are middle aged honest people. Bad business, worst customer service we have experienced in Chattanooga - stay away because you will be taken. read more

I will NEVER rent from here again. The way they talk to customers is unbelievably rude. When I asked questions regarding my deposit and when I would be getting it back, I got the run around for 3 days. Eventually they decided to tell me what was going on with the boat and made up damage that we did not cause. When I went into the office I tried to ask a simple question about it and I was told, "You can shut up and let me explain or I will just keep your whole deposit." He also asked me "What I was trying to prove" by showing pictures of the motor AFTER we turned it in with no damage shown in any of the pictures. Needless to say I did not get my entire deposit back, but according to the manager, I was lucky to be getting anything back from him because he had to spend ALL DAY working on the boat to determine that the propeller was cracked, the same way it was cracked when we were given the boat. I will never return and I hope everyone else is smart enough to stay away as well. read more

I will NEVER use them again! Rented pontoon boat for lake day after my wedding. Went out and noticed the motor starting to sound off and we could not go full speed. We got to our destination and spent the afternoon hanging out on the boat. Headed back and engine again started sounding different and unable to even go half speed. Took us twice as long to get back to dock ...luckily we were planning to come in at 5 so we were not late because I am sure they would of changed us for that. We told the dock hands about the issue and they take boat out and they themselves are trying to figure it out and say they aren't sure and will not let me leave for 30 minutes as they analyze the problem. They finally say I can leave but not with my deposit because they aren't sure what's wrong with boat and if its our fault or not. They then said it sounds like its a mechanical/prop thing and they are sure I can get some kind of refund. Well we had dinner plans with the group but now those were ruined since they would not let me leave and it took twice as long getting back. I hear nothing from Lakeshore as I was told I would. I contact them and rudely get responded to. Saying there is nothing wrong with boat and sometimes you just can't go full speed ( I own a boat and have been on 3 pontoons, never have they acted that way!) Why rent a boat you can't go more than half speed!! The way they respond to their customers is ridiculous. Don't rent from them if you want to have a good experience. After about 3 weeks and 3 correspondences (also horribly slow at responding) I realize they have no intensions of trying to make things right. read more

Will never rent here again. Had a great day on the lake despite a very slow boat with an engine that kept stalling, but the real problem occurred when the owner very rudely and wrongly accused us of running the boat into mud. He immediately told us that they were pulling the boat out of the water, that we would have to pay a minimum fee of 125$ for mud on the deck, and refused to speak reasonably with me. There was absolutely no mud on the deck nor did we pull the boat thru mud or onto shore, but when asked for more clarification he angrily yelled at me to leave the dock. The boat was then pulled from the water and inspected. At this point we were asked to not observe the boat inspection. After about 30 minutes a manager (not the owner) came out to let us know that we were not being charged for anything, with an appology, but on reason for why we were treated so poorly. We've rented here several years in a row, but the owner was so unbelievably accusatory that we will NEVER return. I will say that we've had some very friendly and helpful staff including Blake the boat handler and the manager, but the owner didn't even have the decency to apologize or speak to us. read more
