I met up a few family members here and we had a great experience. The place has a lot of space and was busy so we were unsure how long it would take to get out coffee and good - surprisingly they were fast! I ordered a cold brew with vanilla bean and their Anaheim breakfast dandwich. Although sandwich didn't look like the picture on their website, it was still delicious. My husband ordered a cold brew with a grilled cheese from the kids menu and enjoyed his food. The staff was very nice and although we don't live close, I would love to stop by again when in town!
Love the coffee and flavor varieties here! We had the crème brûlée iced latte with almond milk, carne asada fries and grilled cheese kids meal with fries. The fries are seasoned well and thick but not steak fries. The carne asada and fixings were fresh and flavorful, not the Mexican taco shop kind but it's good! Absolutely love the coffee as well. I've been here a few times for their coffee and is a great place for girl dates or place to work. Added bonus is their drive thru ;)
Came in because they had a bogo deal on coffee, I also got a sandwich. The sandwiche was good, a little spicy but tasty. The coffees were a nice blend of coffee and cream. I loved the Togo bag. Easy to order online and walked in to pick up. Inside was clean, plenty of chairs and space .
First time here. Lots of parking and a drive through. Walking in the area seemed in disarray. There's bags of beans and boxes in front of the baked goods. I ordered the crème brûlée half sweet and it didn't wow me. First the 16oz felt only half filled and there was no hint of crème brûlée. I also picked up a snickerdoodle cookie, nothing amazing there either. It fills the need but there's also other options near by.
It was my first time visiting Rival Coffee, and upon first glance, I was really excited about the spacious seating and big parking lot. We parked our car right in front, and walked into the coffee shop without seeing a line of customers. We saw the menu and there wasn't a top list of drinks. It was lattes with a list of syrups and dark coffee. They truly have a list of syrups for you to add to your latte. I was a bit caught off guard by that. They also had food, but we didn't look at that menu at all. We ordered a Hannah banana latte and a vanilla hazelnut latte. Both drinks were very milky. There was definitely coffee, because I was very caffeinated half way through my small size. The syrup you choose is definitely an after thought in every sip. Yes. There is spacious seating for anyone who wants to hangout or study. Beware to those coming here to work or study; it's so loud in here, I can't hear the person next to me. They are blasting country and soul music. It caused the groups hanging out to speak very loudly, and I just couldn't do work at all. On a positive note, they have free, strong WiFi. I don't think I'll be back. The coffee wasn't memorable and the space isn't suited for studying. I'd rather go to a quieter space with good brews.
The food and coffee are reasonably priced. Service is quick and friendly. They even have an in-house coffee grinder. Coffee is smooth. They have a good variety of options for breakfast or brunch. Very spacious inside with WiFi access. I saw many patrons using the areas for computer access. They also have outside seating with umbrella shades. I am curious to try something new in the future. They also have a drive-thru.
CHILL COFFEE & STUDY ZONE! I spent two hours chilling on a table at Rival's outdoor patio. They had an amazing playlist and quiet atmosphere. I was able to read a manuscript while I was there without interruption. Rival's patio is shaded and has plenty of seating. I ordered a cold brew with a splash of oat milk to taste test the brew, I can confirm it was amazing coffee! I definitely want to dedicate more time coming to Rival, it's worth the buzz! I stepped inside and the coffee shop had a cool aesthetic with large coffee bags lining the shop and great use of natural lighting. The barista at the counter was decent, he was a little somber. However, the service was super FAST and efficient. I was so happy I got my coffee in less than 5 mins! I also want to visit for poetry night, my Mom and I haven't been able to make it but I drove by one night and it was hoping! Lots of folks came by for an evening of caffeinated joy and spoken word.
The coffee was delicious! The staff was kind and we talked their roasting process. The atmosphere was clean and large. Many seats and tables so that you don't feel like you're sitting on top of someone else. Love that they have free stickers for people that get a coffee! My only hesitation is the music is all different kinds. So if you watch what your kids listen to, think about what may be played.
A nice place with a great staff. Happy and really seem to enjoy what they do. Beverages were tasty.
I think I walked into a coffee lover's heaven . This place has that fresh ground coffee smell but next level aroma . Stopped by while visiting my sister and it was worth the drive . The coffee was a build your own coffee with a lot to choose from I settled on a cookie butter cold brew . The cashier was super helpful since it was my first time and my drink came out fast . It was 7.00 for a 16oz which is pretty good for a cold brew with cold foam and specialty flavor . The coffee was well balanced and not too sweet . Give this place a try you won't regret it . Rival Coffee is located right beside Holiday Inn Express behind the Murrieta Mesa High School Ram Stadium. Rival has great coffee and tea options. Service was helpful and friendly. The place is huge!! Upon walking in, you'll notice that there are a lot of students on their laptops studying. Several outlets to plug your devices in. You will also notice sacks of coffee beans: Odyssey Pacamara from El Salvador Tracon from Ethiopia La Cumbre from Costa Rica Arabica Green Coffee from Honduras Service is fast and friendly. Drinks are delicious. Once you taste the coffee, you'll notice that they use high quality coffee beans!! Some of them will give you the caffeine kick you'll need to pull an all-nighter to study for that final!! Great place for coffee/tea. Check em out if you're in the area!!
I have frequently stopped at Rival when I'm making the drive down the 15 freeway to San Diego. I think the coffee is absolutely delicious. It's not overly sweet which I appreciate. My go-to is an iced white mocha. I also appreciate that they have a decaf option. The food I have found is hit or miss depending on what you order. This last time I got the Mexi-Cali loco bowl I think it was called. It had carne asada, rice, egg, and sauce which was really good. The staff members have always been nice; good environment overall.

I went to Rival coffee a couple years ago when that's all it was. It was more of a coffee joint that had staple meals. They began to take really great items off their menu and just abide by a coffeehouse. I was a little disappointed when their menu depreciated, because that's what separated them from your average Coffee Bean. Sips + Eats is now a part of Rival coffee and the location has doubled in size since Rival coffee first occupied the space. We stopped in for Mother's Day, and they had a menu outlined just for the celebratory day. I'm certain if this location were in a more visible location, so many more people would have stopped in on a day like today. Everything from the positive service to the quality of our food and drinks was perfect. This location will quickly pick-up business if they continue to operate like they did today. Coffee was great. Bacon Burrito (ordered in a bowl) was very cheesy and greasy which I was not a fan of. Treated to a free strawberry donut for signing up with the app. Service had the potential to be better... our cashier seemed a bit out of it and was short with us. I stopped by here this morning and tried the seasonal campfire latte, banana bread, and my dad had the egg nog latte. The campfire latte was really good, with a nice flavor. The banana bread was also tasty- moist and had actual banana chunks in it. The young man at the front, Donny, (I believe) was very friendly and polite with us. Came here with some friends today and there was definitely a steady flow of customers. There was a flyer on the table for monthly subscriptions, which offer great deals if you visit often. The Grilled Cheese Lunchbox is a great value for kiddos and light eaters. The Rival breakfast sandwich is pretty popular and a good option. The coffee is ok, I've been here enough times to know that whatever I order is going to taste the same as every other drink I've tried...I had the Crème Brûlée iced latte and it didn't taste like crème brûlée, but it wasn't bad either. One of the issues I had today was how loud the music was, you had to talk really loud to have a conversation, so my friends and I finally went outside. Love their new menu and food choices. Everything was delicious. I ordered their chilaquiles, my kids shared their Fruit Pebble pancakes and my husband ordered the Ketosis. The chilaquiles are amazing, perfect for sharing but do have a kick, so be ready for that. I did order a side of sunny side egg to put on top cuz... well u can't have chilaquiles with an egg. Just sayin'. The fruity pebble pancakes are huge and can totally be shared, they are on the sweeter side and to me they taste like a glazed donut. Yum. My hubs had the ketosis and that was delicious. Perfect portion for one person, full of flavor and that chipotle sauce is fire. Why only 4 stars? It took long to get served. The waitress was sweet and kind but was a bit slow to come around. What a cute little (but big) coffee shop! The vibe was all there! When I walked in Harry Styles was laying on the big screen and I felt so hip! The cashier was super nice and patient as I was looking over the menu since it was my first time. I ended up ordering the cookie batter and the rival breakfast sandwich. Everything was super delicious!! I ABSOLUTELY loved that sandwich! It was so flavorful with every bite! I sat there reading a book and enjoying all the scenery that this place offered. My new favorite place. My kids also gave this place multiple thumbs up! Here's why: Food - I tried the LOADED CARNITAS FRIES and they are absolutely AMAZING. My kids loved them too and they are picky eaters. They use seasoned French fries with really moist fall apart carnitas and the chipotle crema sauce to make this dish perfection. Get ready for a dish full of flavor. I can't stop thinking of those loaded fries since I had them. It is a lot though for one person so I recommend sharing the loaded fries. Plus since it's full of flavor if I ate it all by myself, I would feel it would be flavor overload. I personally like to order multiple things from the menu and share them so I don't get too much of one thing. Drinks - honey vanilla latte has a cinnamon taste to it in my opinion. Crème brûlée latte of course is the sweeter of the two lattes that I tried. Indoor dining - this place is definitely more on the trendy side and has lots of great photo opportunities. I do feel that it has more of a cafe/coffee shop vibe and isn't really a place to dine in. When you order everything comes in to go containers. It's a place for people to hang out quietly and or work/study. We ate inside and I felt like we were ruining everyone else's experience with our loud kids. They do have outdoor dining which we probably would've eaten outside had it not been so hot. There is another dining room area but it wasn't open. I think they reserve it for events. Service - Sophia our server was great! She was working so hard to help the customers inside and through the drive through. I had planned on coming earlier in the day and looked at the menu in the morning that included their breakfast items. We came in the afternoon and breakfast ends at 1pm. I was thing to order a breakfast burrito and I believe the person making the drinks next to Sophia was the owner. He tried to see if they were still able to let me order the breakfast burrito and checked with the cook. He was very busy making drinks and trying to make an ice cream order. So I really appreciated that he took the time to try to accommodate us. read more
