My Wife and I were in need of WiFi and outlets during the power outages in Menifee/Winchester. All the cafes near us were packed so we made our way to Murrieta and stumbled upon Rival. They completely ignored me and just stared at me so I just drove away and decided to go somewhere else. Today I got a coupon to try their new Caramel Brûlée Latte. I got it iced with whole milk. It tasted like a melted caramel icecream in a very good way! It was delicious, not too sweet, and creamy. What a cute little (but big) coffee shop! The vibe was all there! When I walked in Harry Styles was laying on the big screen and I felt so hip! TL;DR: Great place for coffee but the app for their rewards program is kind of clunky. I've been here a handful of times already and I've become a fan of their coffee. I think there's always a nice balance of the coffee and their syrups, which I like. I'm looking forward to trying more of their drinks and food items. Staff has been nice and they're always quick to serve the drinks as well, though I've typically been here at around 6 or 7 in the morning when there's no one really there. The only issue that I have is the app for their rewards program. I don't know if it's just me, but for some reason, my app is always clunky and will sometimes take forever to load. When I downloaded it from the app store, I couldn't even open it and a pop up would say that something went wrong and to try again later. This happened on several occasions. Finally, I was able to open it and actually sign up, but I still have the same issues where sometimes the app won't even open. I think it's great that there's a rewards program here, but I do find it frustrating that it's kind of clunky and not as refined as I wish it was. I'm hoping that in the future they can really invest in the app and rework it so that's it's more useable and doesn't take forever to load. read more

Loved the donut since it wasn't too sweet, just how I like them. The cream filled donuts look good but I was afraid they'd be too sweet for me. The rival sandwich was good just like the other reviews stated. Taste was complex not like other bacon egg sandwich. My new favorite place. My kids also gave this place multiple thumbs up! Here's why: Food - I tried the LOADED CARNITAS FRIES and they are absolutely AMAZING. My kids loved them too and they are picky eaters. They use seasoned French fries with really moist fall apart carnitas and the chipotle crema sauce to make this dish perfection. Get ready for a dish full of flavor. I can't stop thinking of those loaded fries since I had them. It is a lot though for one person so I recommend sharing the loaded fries. Plus since it's full of flavor if I ate it all by myself, I would feel it would be flavor overload. I personally like to order multiple things from the menu and share them so I don't get too much of one thing. Drinks - honey vanilla latte has a cinnamon taste to it in my opinion. Crème brûlée latte of course is the sweeter of the two lattes that I tried. Indoor dining - this place is definitely more on the trendy side and has lots of great photo opportunities. I do feel that it has more of a cafe/coffee shop vibe and isn't really a place to dine in. When you order everything comes in to go containers. It's a place for people to hang out quietly and or work/study. We ate inside and I felt like we were ruining everyone else's experience with our loud kids. They do have outdoor dining which we probably would've eaten outside had it not been so hot. There is another dining room area but it wasn't open. I think they reserve it for events. Service - Sophia our server was great! She was working so hard to help the customers inside and through the drive through. I had planned on coming earlier in the day and looked at the menu in the morning that included their breakfast items. We came in the afternoon and breakfast ends at 1pm. I was thing to order a breakfast burrito and I believe the person making the drinks next to Sophia was the owner. He tried to see if they were still able to let me order the breakfast burrito and checked with the cook. He was very busy making drinks and trying to make an ice cream order. I came to the area to visit a buddy of mine who moved here from LA's south bay. We decided to get some food and coffee nearby, and he recommended we come to this place. Upon entering, I was intrigued at how big this place is. It has a large floor space, and offers a wide variety of options. I was a bit famished, so I ordered a double cheeseburger. To drink, I got some water and a cold brew. My buddy ordered the same burger, and got an iced tea on the side. My burger was decent, and the cold brew was smooth but packing the caffeine boost I needed. For dessert, I got a pastry which consisted of grain bread, topped with one scoop of ice cream and blueberries. The dessert was actually prepped decently, tasting sweet but not overly so. Overall, the food here hit the spot well. The staff was friendly, and they gave good recommendations. The indoor seating is plentiful, and there is some outside seating as well. Parking is pretty abundant, so no problem there. This was a nice spot to get food and coffee in Murietta.
