Horrible company! Needed to take a passport picture and went to the Monterey location and they told me their camera was broken and that I should go to the Pacific Grove location because they do passport pictures there as well. I called in the associate told me the camera is broken and then I asked to speak to the manager, when the manager got on the phone the manager made excuses and started to say that they never offer that service there but the fact of the matter is she has just never contacted corporate to tell them to get the camera fixed. OK... After 3 reviews of disappointment, I think an upgraded review is necessary.. A short time ago I noticed, at the entrance, a photo of the pharmacy manager.. I'm thinking that he might have replaced the grumpy, no personality guy who, I believe, was a good part of the lousy service for so long.. Over the past couple of months, I have encountered 2 pharmacists, each seeming to actually want to take care of customers.. Wait time has gone way down.. Excuses have all but disappeared..Friendliness has gone way up.. Staff seem to smile much more.. I'm staying cautious with only 3 stars but, I hope to add more soon.. Just how hard is it to scoop some ice cream????? The ice cream counter was "closed" -the case was full of lots of choices - and the counter was CLOSED on this Sunday afternoon?????? When inquiring as to why it was closed - they don't have enough staff!!!! WHAT!!!!! Just how hard is it to call one of those so called "sales associates" over to scoop ice cream - how long does it really take.....this is BAD!!!!! This Rite Aid is the perfect storm of customer service dont's. I have been here over a dozen times and every time I go it is the same scenario. Eli has the absolute worst attitude of anyone I have ever seen. It actually makes me uncomfortable. He is slow, rude, and generally unpleasant. I cannot believe he has not been fired. The lines are perpetually always long and they very rarely ask for a cashier back up. The photo lab never has anyone at the counter. Usually I have to ask a cashier at the front counter for help. You would think that they would notice you standing there waiting and call for back up. Now on to the pharmacy: Again more rude and unprofessional people. I was 9 months pregnant and had 4 (personal) items that I needed to buy and when I went to check out they said I had too many items. Really? There was nobody behind me. Why was this an issue?! I think today was my final straw. I will not be back there. Instead I will go to CVS in Monterey. Adios Rite Aid! read more

This is an updated review, with a rating that balances out my previous rating. The prescription department is finally back on track, and I have been very happy with their service lately. Here's a tip: sign up for their texting service. They will send you a text when your prescription is ready. No more calling to see if they have fulfilled it, or waiting in line, only to find out that they haven't gotten around to filling it yet. read more

pharmacy does not have rx's ready on time or even in stock. they have "to order" but when i go to pick up the "order didn't come""it's on back order" after several trips back and forth with no presciption in hand i switched to cvs on lighthouse monterey and had excellent customer service and my presciption was ready in 15 min. read more

I'm not surprised this Rite Aid has such a low rating.. here's my problem with their Pharmacy Staff ( one in particular is horrible , don't know her name however she has long dishwater blond hair and wears large rimmed glasses ) be aware the Staff doesn't care about your well being. I fill my one and only medication which is Amlodipine ( blood pressure meds, mine on a good day is about 180/ 110 so as you can imagine it's very critical I take my meds) I called my Rx in through their automated phone messaging system with the intentions of picking my RX up ( mind you my Rx was just renewed by my doctor in April 2020 ) I go not 24hrs but 48hrs after calling my refill in ( because I still a few pills left) and I walk in and they have nothing prepare for me ( not surprised, but pissed at this point) So I say to this women " I called my Rx in 48 hrs ago, what happen ? " she sighs and rolls her googly eye and walks away with her poor attitude to check her computer and comes back and say " well your insurance won't cover it until the 14th ( one week later from the date I ordered it ) I said Okay I'll pay for it, she then says it will be 10-15min for my Rx ) So they didn't fill it !!! WTH!!! here's my Question ????? WHY doesn't your staff call the patients and let them know the problem??!! You are wasting my time and patience and potentially risking peoples lives by not notifying them there are issues with the filling of their Rx. THIS RITE AID SUCKS and could potentially kill you! read more

I needed a really weird item last night!! No, not what YOU'RE thinking... I needed 5 x 8 legal pads for a meeting and I needed 40 of them stat. I bought out all pads from Kinkos, Walgreens, CVS on Lighthouse and still didn't have enough. I called Rite Aid and James answered the phone. He was so helpful, knew exactly what I needed AND took the item and left it at the register for me. I ran down at exactly one minute til close. Eli greeted me at the door and told me they were actually waiting for me to come in and pick up the pads. What nice people - I was genuinely touched by their concern and my over the top "thank you's" will not do to really convey how grateful I was. read more

I have had such wonderful service and the store is always well stocked and clean. The staff is always willing to help and I enjoy my experience. Mr. Hankes, the store manager, has always gone over and above to ensure I am taken care of and my problems resolved in a friendly and professional manner. This is mostly to put in my two cents regarding the mixed reviews this store and pharmacy has here. I find front store clerks friendly and reasonably quick. I think it's great that the store would hire a controversial person, the transexual gentleman, where many stores would take the easy way and deny him/her employment. I've only been using pharmacy for a few months, but have always had efficient service, no problems. The pharmacists are overworked and understaffed as is everyone in retail chain stores, so I don't mind that they are not super friendly; they are polite, and never unpleasant. The store was extensively remodelled in the last year or two and it's now quite attractive and a pleasant place to shop. read more

Oh the memories. This used to be a Thrifty's back in the day. Good thing is they still have the little instore ice-cream parlor. The stores in Denver don't. Whoa, this store has one of the weirdest layouts I've ever seen. It's totally disorienting the first time you walk in because everything is at diagonals! The inside is a little run-done and dated. Check out the signage in the cosmetics department, it's so 1980s! They seem to have a pretty good selection for a drug store, and the girl that helped me at the check out was actually friendly. I hate though, that they don't have designated lines at the check out. I always feel like I have to fight for my turn to pay! read more

Was charged $665 for a 24 suppositories that the doctor said shouldn't cost more than $40 will never shop there again.

I pick up my prescriptions here and I always end up spending like an hour walking around this rite aid. They have wonderful prices and they rarely seem to be too busy. The parking is easy and their selection of products is wide. I always find whatever I'm looking for here. Trumps CVS on lighthouse- thats for sure. read more

There is a crazy brunette that works here. Today she said "watch him, watch him" as if I were going to shoplift. I have shopped at this store my whole life without stealing a thing. The time before that I bought a pack of cigarette rolling papers, she told me to hand her my ID even though Im obviously over lots older than 18. For papers? She acted weird and shaky, I told my girlfriend to give her my ID since I didn't have my wallet and she got stranger; moving nervously like on something. Zero stars. This Rite Aid pharmacy has just been getting worse. Been going here since 2006 and I finally gave up on them. For the past couple years my visits to their pharmacy has been very uncomfortable and frustrating. And everyone backed up waiting in line seem to be in foul moods also because of Rite Aids horrible service. They'll give you a pick up time, but you'll still have to wait 30-hour. Automatic refills never get refilled. Calling to get a new refill is pointless. The biggest disappointment is they'll lie about their mistakes. One of the pharmacists tried to say my doctor denied one my refills. Called my doctor and found out Rite Aid never contacted them for refill. Then I called Rite Aid back and asked why they lied, they said the electronic fax denied it or something pathetic like that. Never been to a pharmacy that constantly lies and fucks up with their customers like this pathetic Rite Aid in pg. Rite Aid customer service is the worst. They clearly don't care. 0 stars read more

This Rite Aid is impressive in comparison to the CVS store in Monterey. A while back I had to get a tooth pulled. After seeing Dr. Simonsen, I drove back to Rite AId to fill my prescriptions. The pharmacists are a nice and polite bunch. They even signed me up for a discount card on the spot, which I could use the same day. I've often come back here for over the counter pills, Christmas cards, and oh yes ice cream too. I'd like to see them spruce up the inside of the store at some point, but then perhaps they would have to raise the prices in order to do so. Therefore, I'm just fine with the interior. ;) Good job by this Rite Aid. read more

The store is nice, clean, and air-conditioned. But the pharmacy is terrible: always disorganized, often confused, and close to incompetent.

I have a debilitating spinal disease that has left me bed bound and dependent on others to pick up my meds. I've worked with a number of pharmacies of the years and, without question, the Rite Aid in PG is by far and away the most incompetent of them. Every month there's a problem: they lose my insurance info and try to bill me full price, they fill the prescription incorrectly, they regularly say the meds are ready when in fact they're not (this is a big deal when you need people to pick up meds for you), and they won't keep meds in stock (I've twice run out of essential meds working with this pharmacy). I've now switched pharmacies--dealing with a pharmacy that's outside my own town. I've really never seen such incompetence at a pharmacy. read more

They revamped the store, but they didnt get rid of the real problem, which is the employees. There is a rude brunette checker there who chooses to harass me when I go in, perhaps because I came in once in a yamaka. This 3rd incident she decided to set off the alarm from the register to tick me off. The 2nd incident she basically called me a thief in front of everyone.I know im being singled out by this person for some reason. Perhaps because I never wished to speak to her. I called the manager and he would not cooperate to give me the persons name, said was for privacy. What a lie. Corporate takes your call, lets see if anything is actually done, likely not. Shopped here all my life without a problem from other employees, who despite their dry attitudes never act ridiculous. Do they even have secret shoppers? While being told to wait for my prescription at least 30 minutes, I mentioned to employee #58834010 that I had an additional prescription faxed in. The employee then began to assert I did not have the prescription there. I said check for the fax. She said she didn't have it with a terribly poor attitude toward me. After she argued with me for five minutes, my wife phoned our doctor, reaffirmed that Rite Aid had the fax, having the certified sent and received document, at this point the aforementioned employee began saying they didn't have it with a hateful frown and threatening voice. She began to ring up my items although she had not found my prescription, and did not ask for my wellness account either. My amount was $125.90. I asked why she had such a poor attitude toward us, that perhaps she thought we had done something wrong, and she sneered at me, while telling me to give my birthday. It was then an additional employee said she found the fax that was sent that morning. By this time the employee was mocking me about not putting my card in the reader correctly, referring to how I needed to do it in quicker sequence, and then we had to process the next purchase separately another $19.99, and no wellness benefit. At the top of the receipt your slogan states: With us, it's personal. Not this time, it was terrible. read more

Terrible customer service. Ordered prints online and received a confirmation two days ago that my prints were ready for pick-up. Went in this afternoon to pick them up and no pictures. The woman who was "helping" me literally would not look under the last name that I was providing her and looked under every other letter in the alphabet instead. Handed me an envelope with no name and told me to look through them to see if they were mine. When I protested and told her my package would be much smaller she told me that actually the machine was broken and probably don't print my photos at all. She said they were probably sent out to Fuji for printing and would be a few days. I then told her I didn't have a few days and left the store to call Rite Aid customer service. I was told by them that they don't send out photos at all. So my point is... why send a notice that the photos are done when in fact they have never even been printed? read more
