If I could I'd give zero stars.... Everyone I'm here I'm in line forever and often leave too frustrated. Shelves mostly empty.... Only one person at the counter at peak hours.... once at the counter usually those helping you are super sweet... only benefit

I would have rated this store on the low side a year ago, but there have been many positive improvements in the last few months. A while back, I spoke with the assistant manager, and inquired why so many of the shelves were bare, and others in such disarray. The exterior and interior looked very rundown & uninviting. He explained the store was having trouble hiring qualified applicants due to various reasons. However, in recent months the interior has been extremely clean, bright and inviting. The shelves are well stocked with merchandise, with attractive end-cap displays to make the store more inviting. The exterior has been cleaned up. The checkout line, which is generally staffed with friendly associates, has been improved and is efficient. If the line is getting long, they call for an associate to open another register. This is especially nice as this store can be quite busy as it serves both local communities and many tourists. Rite Aid carries a wide range of products to aid their customers to be able to, stop and shop, in one location. In addition to a drugstore/pharmacy, they house a GNC "store within a store" with a large line of vitamins, mineral supplements, sports nutrition, and herbal products. Also offered are their own brand of vitamins & health aids, beauty products, seasonal items, souvenirs for visitors, as well as refrigerated & shelved groceries & snacks and a wide variety of products that are used around the home. They offer a large selection of adult libations including a good variety of craft beers from many breweries that can be hard to find elsewhere. They also have an attractively displayed selection of low to mid-priced local & foreign wines. Having not dealt with the pharmacy department nor their One-Hour photo lab, I can not comment to either being good, bad or indifferent. There is a self-service key duplication machine inside, as well as a Redbox movie rental kiosk next to this location. Of course, they offer the well-known Thrifty brand ice cream, by the scoop or container. Waffle cone, please!

Our #1 reason for going to any Rite Aid location is to get some of their delicious Thrifty Ice Cream!! Recently, we found ourselves in Morro Bay with some good friends. We all craved ice cream on that breezy day. So we were all happy to see this Rite Aid as we were driving along. The inside of the store looks terrific. The store was spic and span tidy. All the shelves appeared well stocked too. The ice cream tubs were getting low as we could see through the display case. Sadly, they did not have anymore of my wife's favorite flavor which is Rocky Road. The lady who assisted us waited patiently as we each decided what we wanted. I chose one scoop of Strawberry Cheesecake and one scoop of Mocha Almond Fudge. The Strawberry Cheesecake at the bottom of my cup tasted yummy. The Mocha Almond Fudge that I had to get through before reaching the Strawberry Cheesecake was a bit of a letdown. The Mocha Almond Fudge seemed a bit melty which was strange because I ate it right away. Oh well, That won't stop me from getting that flavor again in the future. I've never had a problem with Mocha Almond Fudge from Rite Aid before. Overall, the visit to this Rite Aid was A-Ok!!

When you walk in…read moreyou take one look around and just KNOW you're going to be there a while looking at everything they have to offer. They display everything in a really cute way. You know they care about supporting locally and displaying artfully. I needed a unique gift for a 1 year birthday party. It was a 22 min drive (one way) for me but I figured I'd give it a try. This place did not disappoint. They have an entire section full of all kinds of really fun and exciting gifts categorized by age bracket. The staff was very helpful and didn't hover. I bought way too much (everything that I was shown lol) but you only turn ONE once right? Did I mention they gift wrap? Definitely coming back for the next time I need a unique gift for an adult or child. Might just switch my pharmacy to this place so I have a reason to come back and peruse on the regular.

I don't use this pharmacy but the pharmacist seems really nice. I did see a sign up that they are unable to take new prescriptions at this time. There's a small selection of pharmacy-type items, like first aid and some beauty products. The gifts are their big thing, though- for pretty much any occasion. They also offer free gift wrapping with nice paper, ribbon, and a gold foil Rexall sticker on the package. My main hesitation for that fifth star is the unrelenting onslaught of "can I help you"s, where it almost feels like you're being monitored while you browse. Of course it's always great to have help when you need it, but I find this level of engagement disconcerting and it makes me want to hurry up and get out of there. The prices on most items are higher than my budget allows, but they seem to be making the model work. I bought a pair of earrings here for $40 last week. It was too close to closing to have it gift wrapped but the cashier asked if I'd like a box for them. When I got home I realized she'd bent the cardboard card the earrings were mounted on to fit it into the box. Not a big deal but this did not make for a great presentation of them as a gift. This has not been my experience usually, as they almost always do a very nice job with the (free!) gift wrapping. They are closed on Sundays.

The evening staff gets even worse when they delay my pickup by asking inessential questions and look at me like a I'm a drug dealer when I pick up my grandmothers prescriptions. I waited in line to see the pharmacy cashier and pick up/pay for my prescription. I'm told it is not ready. The young woman at the counter did not apologize. She said I could wait or come back. That was all she said. It was like she thought my time was worth nothing and I could just wait an indeterminate period of time or I could just leave without my medication. I had to ask: How long would I have to wait? She said 20-30 minutes. After I waited in line for at least 10 minutes that's a 40 minute wait. What is the point of calling in the prescription and being given a time that it will be ready and not honoring the time being given to the customer? Especially not acknowledging that the customer has every right to be frustrated. Terrible customer service. "Go away or wait." Rude employees who don't take any responsibility for achieving the expectations that they give to the customers. No wonder they look like they are going out of business. With performance like that, customers will not try to keep them open. Not me.
