Empty shelves these days, more than usual. This status seems to be regular, but it never used to be so vacant. Walking into stores with empty aisles for food, meds, not a good precedent. I called in a prescription and was told it would be ready in an hour. That was fine. I went to the store an hour and a half later to pick it up (I gave the pharmacy an extra half hour just to be safe). I waited in line to see the pharmacy cashier and pick up/pay for my prescription. I'm told it is not ready. The young woman at the counter did not apologize. She said I could wait or come back. That was all she said. It was like she thought my time was worth nothing and I could just wait an indeterminate period of time or I could just leave without my medication. I had to ask: How long would I have to wait? She said 20-30 minutes. After I waited in line for at least 10 minutes that's a 40 minute wait. What is the point of calling in the prescription and being given a time that it will be ready and not honoring the time being given to the customer? Especially not acknowledging that the customer has every right to be frustrated. Terrible customer service. "Go away or wait." Rude employees who don't take any responsibility for achieving the expectations that they give to the customers. No wonder they look like they are going out of business. With performance like that, customers will not try to keep them open. Not me. read more

This Rite Aid was not the best due to one employee had a bit of a attitude because I asked her if I could use my Rite Aid card for our purchase after she rang it up. It is there responsibility to ask for your card before they ring you up. Not sure why I got an attitude for her mistake. This place is alright with helpful people, but do not get pictures or holiday cards here until they fix their printers. My Christmas cards looked terrible. Supervisor said they've requested to get the printers recalibrated, but it never happens. And i still had to pay full price. So, don't waste your time and money getting prints or cards here until they can get that problem handled. Otherwise, i shop here regularly and have no other problems. read more

I'm not mad, really. What I have is time, and choices. I reward those who simply do their job right. I wanted antihistamines. The box said get it from pharmacist. Went to Drop Off. Told to wait in the Pick Up line. Wait, 6th in line. Told I have to go to front to get it. Shrug. Leave that and several other purchases on nearest shelf. Walk home. Order my 3 items from Amazon, in 90 seconds. Thank you, Rite Aid. Or should that be Wrong Aid? First and last time in the store. I know now I can get that stuff online. No Covid danger. The pharmacy here is excellent. Although there is sometimes a bit of a wait, the staff is friendly, greeting me by name whenever I come in. They have also been efficient at obtaining refills and taking care of any other issues with my doctors. read more

I had a disappointing experience today getting my COVID booster. I made an appointment online at least a week in advance, filled out all the required forms online on the Rite Aid website, and arrived on time for my appointment. Was made to fill out the exact same forms again, this time in hard copy. Was not told there was anything wrong with the forms I filled out online; this is apparently their regular procedure. Although I listed my underlying health condition on BOTH the online and the hardcopy forms, the pharmacy worker grilled me about my status (was I a child care provider or a healthcare worker--no) within earshot of other clients. Then she began to get somewhat combative, asking me then why did I think I was eligible for a booster? Did I have an underlying health condition? (Again, my qualifying medical condition was listed on BOTH forms, and I had phoned the Rite Aid pharmacy before I even made the appointment to verify that it was, in fact, a qualifying underlying condition.) At that point, the pharmacist walked over and showed her that I had listed it on the form and told her I was eligible for the vaccine. So she told me to go have a seat and wait until my name was called. For the next half an hour I sat there while the pharmacy workers did ???? A few customers came in to pick up prescriptions, but it did not seem that busy, and there were at least 3 people working in the pharmacy. Finally, about 35 minutes after my scheduled appointment, I got my shot. So, to sum up: --Wasted effort filling out the same forms twice for no reason; --HIPAA violations; --Half an hour wasted sitting while staring at their sign that says, "Please shop quickly! Limit your exposure to COVID" or something of the sort. The irony was not lost on me. read more

I grew up in Los osos I would always go there to go get thrifty ice cream and the workers would be really nice and sweet there's a young lady working there she is always so sweet even though at days she might seem a little tired she gets the job done as well as this older gentlemen great customer service ! Lately I went in and there was a Chinese and white lady (older in their 60's) working there sorry I don't know there names that's the best description I can give and they where so rude to a lady before me she got 2 choices of different flavors but when it was my turn the lady was so rude I asked her for 2 diff flavors and she was like oh no we can't do that just making it a big issue it's really sad that they acted that way I've always would bring my family and friends there they where so disrespectful mind you growing up coming there I would always get to different flavors never an issue ever .. until I went recently I asked to speak to the managers and she said well they are in lunch right now with this bitchy attitude it's really sad they act like they own the place but there just employees working Ah 9-5 not even owners tbh if I was the owner or employee I would give great customer service so the people keep on coming and just be happy I feel like if they don't love what they are doing why work there just retire I'm telling u they where older and bitter ! I spent 15 minutes wandering this fucking store looking for something that should've been fairly easy to find and not one employee in sight to guide in the right direction. With the Ralphs down the street doing everything Rite Aide does better and without the depressing fish-tank underlighting (really, Rite Aide Suits, how much do you actually save removing half the bulbs from your fluorescents?), it would seem to be completely redundant. Then why the glowing five star ranking? 1: Ice Cream Bar Unchanged since the glory days of Thrify's, old timey flavors on old timey sugar cones at old timey prices. Entirely delightful. 2a: Cheapest Good Beer Around 2b: Cheapest Cold Beer Around I cannot fathom their pricing- it must be a loss leader to lure people in. A 12 pack on sale here costs about a buck more than a comparable six pack at a liquor or grocery store. Their selection is hardly exotic, but you can find all the mainstream German & Scandinavian offerings, along with the larger "micro" breweries like Sierra Nevada & Lagunitas. Larger Mexican and domestic breweries are also well represented. When we ignore the titular purpose of the store it can be seen for what it truly is- the finest beer and ice cream shop on the Central Coast. read more

Customer service was lacking in every aspect of this store. They had what we needed product wise, but aside from that, I was not impressed. We needed to ask the pharmacist a question about an OTC product we were buying, and he was less than enthusiastic about talking to us and answering our questions. I got the feeling we were "bothering" him. The second time we went back that same evening was to enjoy some Thrifty's ice cream. The man that was behind the ice cream counter walked away as we approached. He helped some other people at the regular counter, and ignored us. I think he thought we would go away. After a few minutes of staring at him, he finally made eye contact and came back. Again, got the feeling we were "bothering" him too. Ice cream didn't disappoint though! I'm a retired physician who specialized in alternative and complementary therapies who has been dealing with a serious medical issue for over 3 years. I am recovering well through a mix of western interventions, drugs, and health building strategies of natural medicines. I started using Rite Aid when a local independent pharmacy closed, and I didn't expect much personal attention. Over a very short period of time, the pharmacy staff began to greet me by first name, ask how I was doing, and give me heart felt support. They have also made exception by providing enough medication until a delayed renewal was approved, which is actually a big deal. They have been extremely conscientious during CoVid, too. read more

This is for the pharmacy. One star is being a bit nice but fair enough. This is my third bad experience in five visits with this pharmacy. They are all somewhat similar so I won't bother with the previous awful experiences with this pharmacy. I had to use Rite Aid because Rexall was closed and I was potentially leaving town the following day. I get my meds and with one of them I had 12 pills out of the prescribed 120 pills. By this time it's too late to call or go back. It said "partial fill" on the bottle but other than that, there was zero communication that they were not giving me my full prescription. No notes. No communication from the tech or the pharmacist even though I talked to both. So I called the next day and was told by a tech that they gave me a 3 day supply and I should be fine and that they ordered the rest but it did not come in so they would reorder. I've been in this field and this just doesn't happen. They forgot to place the order. I can hear the pharmacist in the background saying he gave me 3 days worth and told me it was a partial during some of this time on the phone with the tech which was an outright lie. I should have been given the choice to get a partial fill or take my prescription down the street to CVS which was open at the time. I should not be required to tell them my work and my vacation schedule, and when I'm going out of town and have to justify why a 3 day supply with zero notice is not ok. Tomorrow will be 3 days. I've literally had to put my trip on hold for a day now. I have zero faith they put the order in and that there will be anything tomorrow which will be after 2pm if it shows up at all. Seriously, where is it ok to give 12 out of 120 pills without saying a word which takes away my choice to take my business elsewhere, forget to order the rest for a later date, and question why I need the rest when it hasn't been 3 days yet. People have lives that dont revolve around a pharmacy. Pathetic. Update: 6/15 - I talked to a different pharmacist at this Rite-Aid and he really helped me out and apologized. He said they no longer will be getting that medicine in from that manufacturer and it could be a year before they get more in. He gave me a couple different options I could take instead of lying to me. He remained polite even when I called several times in the same day to coordinate with a different pharmacy. Ultimately I ended up having it transferred to a Rite-Aid in a different city where I work. This other Rite-Aid also did not have all of my medicine but they had enough to give me over half of the prescription and they told me ahead of time they did not have the full amount. It's still annoying but at least I knew what I was in for. So they said to come back in a couple weeks for the rest. I'm going to make sure it's at least 3 weeks and we will see what happens. My expectations are still low and I have a feeling I will have to fight for the remaining 1/3 of my prescription but we will see. My guess is they will say they gave me the whole prescription already or that they can't get more and it's going to be another struggle. To say I'm done with Rite-Aid is an understatement. The Los Osos pharmacy in review really screwed me over and took away my choice of going with a different pharmacy without saying a word to me. The one good thing is the second pharmacist who worked with me and helped me out. The new Pharmacy was at least honest so far but they did not have the whole amount and no matter what happens, if everything goes perfect when I go in to get the remaining 1/3 of my prescription, it will be a month from the original date. Best case scenario is Rite-Aid took a month to fill a month prescription with the last 1/3 of it being after the new prescription is ready to be filled. So in other words it's a good thing I don't take the full prescribed dose or I would run out at least 10 days early. No excuse for this. What if this was a medication that causes withdrawals when stopped abruptly or the dose lowered? read more

The Los Osos Rite Aid is the absolute best. The manager, John, couldn't be a nicer human being. He is always working but quick with a smile or a laugh. He always remembers my name. The entire staff are simply quality people who I could say are very friendly and helpful , but that would be disservice to them since they exceed that. The pharmacy staff of "Doc" ,Angie, Lety and the rest of the people are extremely helpful and always go the extra mile. Some of the clerks are very nice. Some are not. But we've had really mixed experiences with the pharmacy. The first few times we went there everything was fine. But we began to lose faith in them after a series of irritating and even potentially dangerous mistakes. One of the pharmacists once gave me a medication similar to but not the same as what my doctor prescribed (eek!) and the other pharmacist once made an error on the dosage of a medication (eek!) After those incidents we moved our prescriptions to another pharmacy. My little girl still likes to go there for ice cream but mostly I stay out of there. read more

I was simply trying to transfer my prescriptions over to them and multiple people in the pharmacy that I talked with on the phone were extremely rude and acted so put out to have to do the work of transferring my prescriptions. On top of that I give them a minimum of 7 days to fill my prescriptions and twice I went multiple days without my medication because they didn't have them filled in time. The Asian lady at the pharmacy was so rude. I tried asking her where to find tea tree oil and a blonde lady told me an isle and place but it wasn't there and when I tried going back to her to see if she knew of any other isle she wasn't there so I went to ask the other lady. She clearly saw me getting back into the line (no one else was waiting) to ask a question and quickly turned around avoiding me. I then asked "excuse me, do you know of any other isle it might be in?" And she ignored me so I was like "ma'am...?" And she quickly turned around and said "ask up front." I understand you may not know where it is but there is no need to be so rude about. So disappointed, and this is literally my first ever Yelp review. The Pharmacist I deal with is top notch. He cares about his customers. He goes the extra mile to make sure the prescription is what it is supposed to be. He also gives you a simple explantion each time and usually a warning, based on obvious experience with medications. Friendly fast and helpful. read more
