Located on the main strip of Coronado, this Rite Aid is a solid spot for your pharmacy needs. We stayed at a nearby hotel on the island and passed this Rite Aid on our way in and out, so when an itchy throat hit we made a quick pit stop one evening. The store is smaller than most Rite Aid's and the parking is a bit of an annoyance, but for the most part this was a well stocked, kindly staffed and clean Rite Aid location. My friends dropped me off at the front and circled the block, by the time they made the circle I was able to locate, pickup, pay and get back curbside. Excellent customer service provided by pharmacist Dr Arash. He really helped my mom in a real bind to get her prescription for her oral surgery appointment. This rite aid feels different from the others in San Diego, maybe it's because it's off in the island. The vibe of the place just gives you a different view, everybody here seems to be friendly and quick to acknowledge you with a smile. I'm just not talking about the staff it is also is patrons. Maybe the water here is different in Coronado. I am not usually in this part of town but I came here to enjoy Coronado with some friends that came from out of town. They even said it seems more friendly here than the rite aid in their part of the town. The shelves here seem to be stocked and very organized. The signs were clear to point where everything was. We came for a few items but ended up walking around and picking up a few more than expected. I guess it's easy to find stuff when the aisles all nice and clean. There seems to me more negative reviews of rite aid then positive reviews, so I'm glad this one is one of the few good ones. I am sad to see that they don't have their ice creams no more, it is one of the parts that I enjoyed of rite aid. read more

I've used this pharmacy for 8 yrs and they are the best. Always discreet and friendly and willing to work with Doctors to give you your best and safest medication. I have an illness that is hard for some to understand how debilitating it is. I'm fairly young and with makeup and dressed nice can mask the pain and weariness I feel on a good day. A lot of pharmacies in the past would assume I was fine and act like I was some kind of fake with all the medicines I require to function and stay well. Originally I had visited this rite-aid with low expectations. It was busy that day and it's a really small rite-aid and not only that but I had received word that a certain employee worked there who was loud, fat and smelled of 3 week old underwear. When I walked through the doors, I was expecting to be assaulted with the pungent odor of a burdensome worker I will simply just call "AF" but to my surprise the place smelled fine and the workers all gave me warm smiles and excellent service! I had asked a worker if he knew "AF" but he had said he never heard of him. I asked the same thing with the nice worker at the register and she said they've never met and she was glad. I had to make sure though, so since I am a scientist, I took samples from around the store and tested it in my lab to see how "hygenic" they were and thankfully I am able to confirm that "AF" does NOT work at rite-aid and it's a great place to shop and get all the things you need and not have to be bothered by some oaf. 5/5 read more

I usually visit Coronado every 2 years, just because it is my favorite vacation spot. Let me tell you, this store is home away from home. All the employees are so helpful and kind, what a clean welcoming atmosphere. New manager, Holly and I chatted about the East Coast as she is from there - what a small world. The Rite Aid on Orange is pretty good when compared to other Rite Aid's and pretty great when it comes to their pharmacy. What makes the pharmacy great is that they are fast and proficient. How many times have sent a prescription to a pharmacy and then drive over there to find out that it hasn't been filled or received. This has never happed to me at this Pharmacy. I've never had a bad experience with Rite Aid until a recent interaction with one employee in particular. I've found that Rite Aid has the lowest prices on island for wine/alcohol so I've been primarily buying wine solely from this one location. Recently, I bought a small amount of wine to celebrate my graduation from college. Later that day, I was having friends over so I came back to purchase a larger container of wine to share with my guests. I didn't think much of it at the time. However, a week or so later, I came back to purchase wine for a separate celebration with friends/family and the cashier loudly remarked in a condescending tone: "Am I going to see you back here buying more alcohol again later?" I ignored him as I did not know how to react to this unsolicited comment and since there was a long line of customers within earshot behind me (some of them being my classmates/neighbors). He then proceeded to continue on: "Get it? Because the other day you came in to buy a thing of wine... and then later that same day, you came back to buy a LARGER thing of wine? Hahaha!" It was really hilarious to be called out for my purchases... I'm 23, its legal to buy alcohol for my own personal use and consumption. I don't need Rite Aid workers announcing to the entire store that I bought wine twice in one day. It would be the same as if I bought tampons, yeast infection medication, or condoms. What I buy is my own personal business and I don't need the cashier to make a mental note and comment on my purchase history later, in front of my neighbors and friends. It was totally rude and unprofessional, and honestly made me want to start buying wine at a different location (regardless of the additional price) just to avoid interacting with that one employee ever again. I don't know his name, but I'm sure I could find it. He is an overweight, Hispanic-looking man with darker complexion. He was working tonight (5/26) at around 6:30 when I stopped by Rite Aid. I would like an apology from the employee and/or his manager because I left feeling humiliated after he publicly called me out. I'm still pissed about the incident, and seeing him again tonight reignited my anger. I am willing to edit this Yelp review once I receive a personal apology from the staff. read more

I LOVE Coronado Rite Aid!They always have what I need, the pharmacy hours are really convenient and the staff always helpful. Special Kudos to the manager of Coronado Rite Aide - she is always available, often see her on the floor vs her office and her pleasant, helpful personality sets the tone for the store.All cashiers are great but Claudia is my favorite- that woman never has a bad day, is sweet, kind and so patient ( esp with some of her more challenging customers). Same story at the Walgreens in Coronado. This Rite Aid was clean, quiet, and the workers were friendly, but the station of newly released makeup was literally non-existent. I walked around the store a couple of times to look for one. Enough to make workers suspicious that maybe I was trying to steal something. Rite Aid is in a convenient location on Orange Ave. parking can be difficult since there are less than ten spots there. I've been going to this store on a monthly basis for several years. Every month or more often. They have a small crew with the same people every time. Very nice people. However, they haven't bothered to remember anything about their customers. Every time they ask my name and medication... their machine calls to remind me, but I get there and it's as if I'm a stranger. I know that there are tons of customers but my last pharmacy took the time to get to know their customers. I'd think that after seeing me there, getting the same meds over 40 times, they'd at least greet me with a smile and know my meds! Also, their auto-call machine would call to say my prescription was there, and it was actually on back order, wasting my time. I've switched pharmacies! read more

Absolutely cannot tolerate this place. So glad I have kaiser and can get my prescriptions filled there. The pharmacists here know you're waiting. They can see you. Yet they refuse to acknowledge you or tell you that it might be an hour or more because they need to verify the script even though it's signed by the doctor. Then they hold your prescription hostage. Waste of a couple hours. It is called customer service get some. read more

I moved here with high hopes for Rite Aid but it has been a disaster from the start. I cringe even thinking about going there! They have filled and lost prescriptions within the same day, misspelled my name, charged me for prescriptions that had no copay along with other things. The line is omnipresent at the pharmacy. I have used one medication for several years and they told me my doctor had not yet approved a refill so I had to go through a mild withdrawal for two days (weekend) only to find out that the prescription had been filled and waiting the whole time. How does that happen? I can say that the staff is friendly and I will go there again if necessary, but I'm headed across the street to the new Walgreens for all prescriptions from now on. read more

Super helpful! The pharmacists actually care about answering your questions and making sure everything is taking care of in a timely manner. I don't know how they manage to fill the scripts so fast, but they do. They also go above and beyond when it comes to letting you know about programs they offer, like automatic prescription refill. I gladly come here and pay my copay instead of dealing with the military pharmacies. The cashiers are also really nice, and the rest of the staff stocking shelves etc. always offers to help you find anything. read more

If you like your name misspelled on your Rx, getting medication for a higher price than originally quoted, getting home to find no one actually mixed your Rx and you now have to go back to have it done with no apology or anything to compensate for the complete waste of your time, then by all means...Fill your Rx's here. read more

I have ALWAYS had issues with this Rite Aid. I'm so sad Coronado pharmacy is closed bc there is only ONE PERSON at this rite aid who gives not just decent but awesome customer service. Sam, the pharm tech is awesome. The older woman with glasses and a jersey accent is flat out rude. I have been there with a fever, visibly ill, and they fought me on filling my antibiotics. It took nearly 45 min. Today, they're fighting me on a generic supplement for my RX. Ugh. If only all of them could be Sam. read more

Every time I have to get a prescription filled, this pharmacy manages to mess something up. I always call before I go in to make sure that my medicine is ready and there have been a number of times that I have been told everything is in order and then when I show up they don't have the order filled. In my opinion the staff is incompetent. The only plus is that they are friendly. However, I want a competent person preparing my medications, not necessarily a friendly one. read more

If I had the option I wouldn't even put one star. I'm extremely, extremely upset with the experience I just had at this store. I will never go in that store again because of the horrible event. Me and my two friends were in the store makeup shopping, we tested about two shades of foundation and we're rudely confronted by an employee saying "you're not allowed to try them on" which is understandable. Next the employee proceeds to stand at the end of the aisle staring at us, and as beautiful young women this made all of us feel discomfort on many levels. We said "ok, sorry we won't do it anymore" and he continued to stand there and stare at us. After we said it again he finally left after about 3 minutes of looking at us up and down. We continued shopping and see another employee poke his head around the corner to see what we were doing. What a humilating shopping experience. Never in my life have I felt more disrespect, and judgment for no given reason. I would never wish this experience on anyone. My night has been ruined and I will never go in that store again. For employees to treat money paying customers with such disrespect is appalling. If you want a pleasant shopping experience with employees who actually treat you with respect go anywhere but this rite aid. read more
