The pharmacy have really changed, I suspect due to pharmacist Cameron's influence. For one thing, they actually pick up the phone when you call, unlike Walgreens across the street. Another plus is they will keep trying to fill your Rx even if it is out of stock the first time they try; Walgreens will just forget about it and may or may not let you know they've given up. I watch a lot of customers give the pharmacy staff a hard time or just be totally oblivious & incoherent, so I think it's a miracle they manage to stay as polite as they do. I don't think I'd last a whole shift. read more

I went in to pick up a prescription that I had already approved and paid for online. All they needed to do was hand it over. I was in the phone with my daughter. As I walked up to the window I told her to hold on and put the phone down. The person told me I couldn't be on my phone, which I wasn't. So I put it away in my back pocket. They still wouldn't talk to me, as they said I had to hang up the call. How would they know whether I hung up the call or not? Plus there was no information being exchanged. I already paid and agreed to the terms. This is my first, and LAST time using this pharmacy. My doctor already told me that they have tons of problems with them. I was so mad I stormed out, yet these are new prescriptions. My last pharmacy always made me talk to a pharmacist if it was a new prescription, so that's fishy right there to let me leave without talking to someone. read more

A little Thank You Thursday shout out to the staff at this Rite Aide. From a friendly greeting to waiting in line at the pharmacy, it seemed to move along fairly quick, with attentive staff tending customers one by one. Although many of the staff have changed since Iast stepped into this store, despite all the negative reviews below, I still stop in here every so often whether it's to pick up a prescription or a card. The location is clean, shelves stocked and customer services goes above and beyond the last few times I've come in. Oh man, this place is such a joke. It took no less than four phone calls from me, two from my doctor, and four visits to the store to get a simple Rx filled. They kept losing the Rx, misfiling it in the queue, and then just....didn't fill it. On the 4th visit I waited...and waited.... The pharmacy manager, Cameron, is the sad, skinny dude with a receding hairline and weak chin. He tells me that it's impossible that they screwed up and their system is just fine. Looking around the pharmacy, there were about 20 people waiting. I had also scheduled a vaccine appointment, but in the half hour I was there, they had only given one shot. By the time I left, I was told there were still six people ahead of me. I asked why they took appointments then...no answer other than "You can go somewhere else." Gladly. read more

The WORST rite aid (which says a lot). I immediately transferred all of my meds out as I will not be coming back, even if they were free!! They are always losing scripts, meds, and take an exorbitant amount of time for anything (while having a bad attitude). On 8/6/23 the male pharmacist was extremely rude. He is totally oblivious to everything around him and lacking all self awareness on the patients waiting. I've never had a good experience here, don't waste your time. If a younger person with minimal health issues has this many issues here, I can't imagine being older with numerous meds and health needs. read more

The pharmacy employees are really bad with customer service; no communication, blanket/generic excuses for waiting which I heard reported to the same 3 people before me... "there working on it" then go to the wall and grab the bag, which nobody touched before it was grabbed... yep it was already filled but it was too much to look I guess. This pharmacy is presently open until 6pm on weekdays. That's no good for day shift workers. Whatever happened to peel your hours back so far? The hours shown on this page are not correct (or even close). Used to be open until 9pm. Saturdays and Sundays open as well. Now, the pharmacy is closed on Sunday??? That's the last straw in my doing business with Rite-Aid. My family has 17 prescriptions here and at Oak Street. My grandchildren have had to get cough syrup and other pediatric prescriptions, and now you're not open on Sundays. You are NO LONGER COMPETITIVE on the Portland market. Why don't your Board of Directors approve paying approximately $3.00 / hr. more for tech positions to attract and / or retain staff. OTHERWISE, CLOSE YOUR STORES! i'm also witnessing from a shareholder's perspective, a company that, at least in NW Oregon, has began its swan-dive prior to shuttering many stores. If I could give zero I would. Pharmacy couldn't fill my prescription on time (told me it needed to be put together), so came back the next day and now waiting on the person in front of me who they decided to put her order together and now waiting over :30+ minutes. Zero self awareness as to the long line. Kicker was :45 later I get to the car only to re-read my doctors note to see they forgot half the order. read more

I have been using this pharmacy for 4 years now. I come in at least once a week because everyone in my family has prescriptions. The text messaging system is convenient, letting me know if my prescriptions are out of stock so I don't waste a trip out there. When I call, someone always answers the phone within a few rings. The staff has always been courteous and helpful. We've been able to walk in for covid vaccines when other locations were booked out for weeks. A couple times, I've seen the pharmacist work a few minutes after closing because they knew a customer desperately needed medicine. Mind you, closing is often 7pm or 10pm, which is convenient for customers but probably exhausting for the staff. They want to go home. I try to pick up my medication in the middle of the day usually but I've had a few emergencies where I was there in the hour before they close. I've been going there long enough that I've often seen them getting yelled at by customers, especially since the pandemic started. I suspect this is a part of the reason I've seen a higher turnover rate of staff lately. I think they're understaffed because there are less employees working there than before. People, the staff is just doing their job. They can't help how much your medicine costs. They can't help it if your doctor doesn't answer their phone messages immediately. I'm posting here because I've seen so many people being rude to them and I'm sad when I don't see the same faces any more. I hope riteaid figures out how to retain good people better. If you're unhappy with the cost of medicine, contact your insurance company. read more

How is it that I reviewed the Safeway in the Sunnyside Marketplace but not the Rite-Aid diagonally across the parking lot? Then, as I prepare to review it, I see that the reviews are lukewarm at best. In over a decade (off and on) of being a customer here, I've never thought of this place as anything less than a 4 star sort of experience. And I use both the pharmacy and the store. This is Clackafornia, baby, and the natives have grown up right alongside us when the Sunnyside Corridor began to burgeon and half of the inhabitants seemingly were transplanted Californians. But they were mostly vanilla California suburbanites who no one would have known were not Oregonians unless they told someone. Thus, we were treated well ... and continued to be treated well, with some of these people having had their kids in the area and who have already graduated from Clackamas High! That said, the employees recognize you and smile, be they cashiers, store management, or pharmacy personnel. Rite-Aids are never bargain priced when it comes to the regular store aisles. However, they do have sales and it makes sense to pay attention to the flyers to snag those deals. This is also the place to come when you need OTC remedies on the fly. At the pharmacy, they are always busy but the service has been consistently good. The pharmacists have changed. I was sad to see one pharmacist - a foreign lady - move on because she was high energy, a quick thinker, funny, and had an incredible memory. The other pharmacists have always been very competent, but they've never exactly put a smile on my face. I will say that all of the pharmacy techs and clerks have been reliably polite and efficient, and that is the main contact you may have with the pharmacy. I'm tossing out 3 tidbits of information: 1. This used to be Payless and they handed out these plastic boxes commemorating that it was the 300th Payless in the system. The family had that box and I decided to keep it as a souvenir. I continued to call it Payless for quite a while after its being acquired. 2. The annoying diagonal aisle system has been done away with. It might have been trendy at one time but, at times, I would get disoriented inside a store that was essentially a box. At this point, the aisles are linear and the store was nicely remodeled to go along with that. 3. The Plenti program is ending very soon. A Wellness point program is taking its place. If you have Plenti points, redeem them. I was able to get two tan plastic patio chairs and, with the Plenti points, they cost me about ten bucks instead of the already discounted $16. I see that other Clackafornians are not sounding off about the long-standing neighborhood Rite-Aid. If they did, the ratings would be higher. In that case, I'll sound off and give this Rite-Aid 4 stars. read more

I am 1,000% done with this pharmacy. Everyone's busy, everyone's short staffed, I get it. But there is no excuse, no valid reason for me to spend an entire work day (literally, eight hours) on THREE separate occasions over the past few months trying to get literally anyone to answer the phone. I finally just went in in-person at one point, only to see everyone in the pharmacy pick up and hang up the phone anytime it rings. I'm not even kidding. Now, once again, I've spent all morning simply trying to speak with someone so that I can transfer all of my Rx's to Walgreens. I can't get anyone to answer - not in the pharmacy, not in the store, nothing. This place is an absolutely joke and needs to be shut down. read more

I don't know if a reviewer name Tracy, from 4 months ago, is a relative or friend of someone who works at this pharmacy but she gave a Stellar review that is completely phony. The pharmacy does not answer their phone, in fact it doesn't even ring because my husband tried calling them on his cell phone while standing right there in front of the pharmacy window. I had told him I had tried getting through to them all day, so he had to see for himself. He told me I was correct... no ring tone ! I finally had to call my insurance company to do an intervention, it worked like magic, I had a response that same day. At least someone knows how to get their attention. Went here yesterday and the selection was meh and very overpriced. When I went to pay, there were two employees at the register talking about personal stuff. I didn't get a hello, a nod, eye contact, anything. The lady *did* deign to pause from her chat (mid-transaction) for a moment to ask me if I had member number to enter, but once I told her I didn't she went back to her conversation and never acknowledged my presence or thanked me for my business. From the outside, this place looks like it could be an Albertson's instead of a Rite Aid. Who knew there would be so much stuff here? Though it does appear to be a tad dated (see: old sign) this still works as a place where one can do some quick shopping for miscellaneous items. What seems to be a common theme amongst all large Rite Aids is how understaffed they are. Most of the times in which I've come here there are 2/8 lanes open and of course lines galore during peak times. If they could just have 4 people working or maybe even a self-pay area it would speed things up drastically. Then again, this is Rite Aid, most people who shop at Rite Aids are probably used to waiting by now. read more

I was waiting in line while I would be next to speak with the pharmacist when a man cut in front of me. He looked at me so he knew I was in line. I thought I would give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he had a quick question. But he was picking up a prescription. There was no one behind me so I don't know why he couldn't wait. The pharmacist didn't say anything. All he said was "date of birth?" No hello, nothing. I had been in two days earlier to pick up an emergency supply and was told it was too soon to get my prescription. This pharmacist said that I didn't have a prescription and was not willing to look into their computer system to see that the doctor had sent in a prescription a few months ago. Why do men cut in front of women in line and why don't men want to do their jobs? I wish that people were more socially aware of how their privilege impacts others, they only continue to remain blinded by their need for more power. read more

Went in to get a vaccine, and was somewhat helped by Deanna. I found her to be very sharp with her answers, and gave me the impression she did not want to be there, or was doinjg me a favor by helping me. While waiting for my caccine, I noticed how she talked to other customers, and found her to be very rude toward them, and at one point would not answer a customer's simple question. I feel like this place is holding my prescriptions hostage! No one answers the phone at the pharmacy! I've been trying to get a hold of this place for two days now. Spoke to Nancy, via the regular store number and she tried paging the pharmacy twice and still no answer. I get that so many places are understaffed, but when it comes to people's health...it's just egregious, unethical and seriously feels illegal somehow. Nancy also told me to just come in and stand there, because they can't just ignore someone standing directly in front of them...who has time to stand there for two hours? Rite aid is either overly priced or very cheaply priced. Most of the time I find some pretty darn good deals over here so I tend to come back pretty often. The staff is always nice and I have never come across a bad employee. They have a $1 section which some of the stuff you wouldn't even believe is just a buck, like a mini dollar tree section! The worst experience I have ever had with a pharmacy. I called the pharmacy while still at my home to make sure they had what I needed in stock before I made the long drive over to the Rite Aid. The pharmacist told me over the phone that they had what I needed in stock and ready to purchase, so I drove 30 minutes to get there just to find out they didn't have it in stock. You would think at the very least they would apologize for misinforming me and wasting a bunch of my time but no. The pharmacist said and I quote " I don't know who you talked to here, but we don't have that in stock right now" while trying to rush me along. No apology, or anything. An hour of my time and gas money wasted even though I had the diligence to call to make sure they had what I needed in stock before I made the drive. Unbelievable. read more

I was looking for a place to get my booster shot, called around to 30 places and this is the only place I found that takes walk-ins. I was pleasantly surprised they were semi-well staffed. The wait was an hour and a half, which I didn't really mind until I saw people who came after me getting called back before me. I took one star off for this reason. Other than that, the techs were super attentive, helpful, picked up the phone on the first ring, and I overheard the pharmacist teaching the tech how to do their jobs. This is a sign of a well run pharmacy. I can't take off any more stars. read more

This store used to be one of the best pharmacy's in the area. I never had to worry about calling in refills as they were on top of them and would send reminders that RX was due for refill or pickup. In the last 2 years this pharmacy has lost all creditably. The app doesn't work, Tech's are rude and they never answer the phone. I waited 2 hours just to see how long I was on hold. They tell you they have to contact your Dr. for authorization to refill when it clearly states 10 refills on the are available on the bottle. I went in there yesterday 7/9/2022 and the pharmacy was closed, due to Covid. To be quite honest the Covid excuse is getting old. This is now the 2nd time they have closed without notice in the last 2 weeks. I'm done, time to transfer our rx's to a reliable pharmacy. There is a reason people take medications and a reason they need it. BTW fix your mobile app too! I'm a regular customer at this store. Lately the customer service has been very poor. The last straw was yesterday, I was making a purchase that included wine, Ben, the man who was helping me at the register asked my CHILD for an ID because I was buying wine. I told him she was my daughter and she's a child, she's just tall. He continued to ignore me and was super rude, called his supervisor saying "There's a woman buying wine and the other woman(my child) with her does not have an ID". He was rude, humiliated us and treated me like I was doing something illegal. Made my daughter feel really uncomfortable and she never wants to go back again. Even if this was standard procedure, there are ways of talking to customers and this is not one of them, he didn't even apologize. Ben needs training on how to treat customers. I have been making purchases at this store for about 3 years now, since returning to Paris on the Columbia. I have witnessed clerks behave in what I have interpreted as a racist manner. I have interacted with clerks who do not seem to care about anything, and they seem to look right through me as I ask for help. Finally I am invisible. Tonight I had to ask for help. This is a rarity, because I am stubborn. I will look and look on my own. I turn to the unknown quantity that is the customer service representative only as a last resort. I asked a woman to help me. She did not seem to know what I was asking for, and she clearly did not seem to want to help me. Her lack of sincerity was clear to me. She directed me to someone in the pharmacy who treated me like an idiot. He made no attempt to help. He seemed to want to argue with me. This is the last straw. I am done with this store. Worst customer service ever!! The pharmacist and pharmacy techs are rude, sarcastic, make animated expressions and snide remarks under their breath to each other about any patient whether asking reasonable questions or not. They are disingenuous about helping customers in need. On my last occasion shopping here they charged me $207.00 for a life sustaining medication that only costs around $40.00 and had mistakenly filled it for two months instead of three. While still in the store I attempted to return the Rx. The pharmacist told the tech to void the Rx, correct the quantity and reissue the medication. The tech refused and the female pharmacist told me too bad and I'll have to pay again when the shorted prescription runs out.. I'm taking my business elsewhere and recommend you do the same. These people don't care about human beings and are grossly unprofessional in their demeanors towards patients. read more

It's too bad Yelp keeps all these really old reviews on here...stores change managers, staff, etc. pretty regularly in this day and age. I have had no issues with this Rite Aid Pharmacy and I am MUCH happier with their personal service than the issues I have had with Aetna mail order pharmacy, which is now CVS and tries to force me to use their pharmacy at Target, which is much less convenient. The staff in the pharmacy are nearly always nice and helpful. I mainly use the pharmacy, but if you shop there for other items, be sure to sign up for their rewards program, it's easy and well worth it. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service in the pharmacy. Everyone there seems put out that customers are annoying them. Nobody smiles or says thank you. Hagen pharmacy at the old Albertsons was top notch, then they closed and all of their customers were herded to Rite Aid. Very disappointing move. This pharmacy is dangerous! I'm the caregiver for a patient with seizures and he needs medication 2x/day. Every 6 months we go to the Neurologist to have him and his bloodwork rechecked. We did that recently and it all looks good but you know what, let's use Rite Aid because it's much closer to home. When I picked up the medications I could have sworn it was the wrong dose so I asked the Pharm. and she said, "Yeah, that dose really isn't a thing. This is what you need." What do I know, it's only been a year. $102 later I'm out the door. Back at home I still have the old bottle and it IS the lower dose. So I call the doctor (she's not busy being a Neurologist or anything) and correct, it should be the lower dose. Back to Rite Aid armed with the old bottle and the printed prescription. "Clearly the lower dose IS A THING and since that's what the Neurologist wanted, why did you lie about it? We're talking a patient's BRAIN!" She goes the check. "I can have it here in September." So, the medication DOES EXIST and she CAN get it - next week. Not helping the seizure patient! So I get my $102 back and take the prescription to the CVS. I have the proper dose in hand in under 60 mins and the cost ..... $20. What the *****? Risking brains. Changing dosages. Lying about it. 5x more expensive. NOPE! We're done with Rite-aid, should I say Wrong-aid? read more
