Good store, they're always in stock of items, I prefer this store now that they closed the one on gateway (even if its a little further away) but the older women working at the hot food section today (name starts with S but I can't remember her name) scratched her nose in the middle of grabbing my hot food items and didn't change gloves or anything. read more

I get that they need to restock, especially going into Christmas but yikes, was it challenging for me to get around. I used the motorized carts which are pretty great at turning and navigating. They really do not take up more room that a regular grocery cart except I am attached to it. There were so many aisles of the store (and a large percentage of the produce department) which I was not able to get down because there were so many large things out stacked super high and wide with them restocking. And the people doing it were just glaring at me like I was the issue. It was super frustrating, especially as the store's customer foot traffic kept increasing since it was a Monday before Christmas around the 8am hour. I appreciate coupons but their machines do not want to accept anything. I always feel like I have to watch the register like a hawk and use the self check when I am able so I can watch and make certain I get the price they listed. FRED MYERS GAS STATION DO BETTER! Very unprofessional behavior!! An employee became visibly upset with a customer who was simply trying to pump his own gas while she was assisting someone else. She went so far as to lock the pump he was using and made inappropriate comments, including a threat to call I.C.E., while refusing service and trying to remove him from the premises. Fred Meyer Management 8955 SE 82nd Ave Happy Valley, OR 97086 Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding a hazardous incident and subsequent poor customer service that occurred at your Fred Meyer location at 8955 SE 82nd Ave, Johnson Creek, on Thursday, November 28th, at approximately 10:24 AM. While using pump #1 at the diesel self-service station, the pump failed to stop automatically, resulting in an overflow and a significant diesel spill. I promptly sought assistance from the station attendants, who were screaming to shut down the diesel pump due to the hazardous spill. One of the employees who came to help clean up the spill mentioned that this issue with the diesel pumps is recurring and has been previously reported to management, but no action has been taken to resolve it. Following the incident, my wife and I went inside the store to speak with the management. We waited by the florist area until two men approached us. The older gentleman, who we later learned is named Kevin and is the assistant manager, asked how he could help us. When I explained the hazardous situation and the need for the diesel pump to be fixed, he dismissively claimed he had never heard any previous complaints about it and blamed me for the incident because I used the self-service pump, insisting that I was liable. He was very rude, speaking loudly and treating us as if we were ignorant. When I asked to file a claim in case my vehicle sustained any damage from the incident, my wife detailed the incident in the claim form. After she finished, Kevin rudely pulled the paper from her hand. When I requested a copy, he said they would call us and attempted to keep the document. We managed to take pictures of the claim before leaving the store. After leaving the store, we asked a store employee for the manager's name, as Kevin never introduced himself. We were informed that the store manager is named Jackie and that she was off for the holidays. We then called 1-800-KROGER to report this incident and open another claim. The employee who took our report was more understanding and apologized for the situation. We requested a phone call from upper-level management as soon as possible. On November 29th, we received a voicemail from a Kroger claim representative, but when I called back, no one answered. I received another voicemail on Sunday, December 1st. When I called back, I spoke to another employee who did not know what I was talking about and asked me to open another claim. I requested to be transferred to management multiple times, and she placed my call on hold, but no one picked up after several minutes, so I hung up. I am deeply disappointed and frustrated with the way this situation has been handled. Not only did we experience a hazardous incident, but the customer service we received from the assistant manager and subsequent interactions with your claims department were unprofessional and dismissive. This is not the level of service I expect from a company with the reputation of Fred Meyer. I request that you investigate this matter urgently and take necessary corrective actions to prevent future occurrences. Additionally, I seek assurance that the claim we filed will be properly processed and that we will be informed of any developments. Furthermore, I would appreciate a response detailing the steps that will be taken to address this problem and ensure customer safety at your gas stations. This Fred Meyer is so unfriendly and they tell they customer to bag because they have no bagger. In my opinion I think that is the clerk should alway bag for the customer. Never tell your customer to do there job. I bag once I got cut from the bag I would like to know if you are going to pay for my infection.. Sadly (and VERY sadly since FM has been my go-to when i need items in multiple categories) I have paid my last visit to Fred Meyer @ Johnson Creek...a store I've been shopping at for 23 years. The last time I went, my checker didn't utter a word to me...got done scanning my items and when he finished, handed me the receipt and said, "do you want help?" as I am packing my items into paper bags at the end of the check stand. I reply, "Of course I do...we ALL do. There was a time when we didn't do any of this stuff." He tosses a couple items into a bag, then turns around and walks away. Literally leaves the check stand with me standing there surrounded by my bags. I was not rude to him. so i don't know what is going on behind the scenes to cause him to act like this, and honestly I don't care because this kind of rudeness happens ALL THE TIME. EVERY TIME. MULTIPLE CHECKERS. it has gotten to the point where i scan the lines for checkers who "look nice." How ridiculous is that? or checkers who have baggers...but then the baggers are gone by the time your turn comes. I could give a list of unpleasantries that have happened here, but it's all kind of the same thing. Something's gone wrong there. I was attempting to return a grocery pickup item which had an expiration date of only two days after I purchased it, but was told that I couldn't return in storestore& needed to call the# on the receipt , where I might possibly receive a refund & to either donate or give away the expired meat- ridiculous. I shared that I've often had to return expired or close to expired foods & was told it was a corporate issue but this is on the store level. The front of store manager was absolutely horrible and lied that I was ignoring the policy and demanding a refund, and when the grocery associate leader arrived.He was absolutely rude and unprofessional as well, greeting me with, "What." Whether or not corporate changed or is just now enforcing this policy takes customer service away and burdens customers. I'm not at all surprised a corporation is acting in this manner but I will be loud about it. How do you have 2 leaders in a store who contribute harmfully to an already escalated situation? The only 2 individuals who helped were Kate & Desiree. Desiree actually asked the front of store person to leave because she could see his presence was only making matters worse. The only feedback I was trying to share was that food can be checked better to prevent this from happening before it's bagged. Went to order a cake for a funeral reception. Walked in. A gut was at the counter seemingly waiting on something. I stood behind him for about 3 minutes while the staff gossiped about someone they all knew. The man in front of me turned out to have a Freddie's name tag. He walked to a cart full of goods and began acting like he's working. Then turned to me and asked (as if I'm an inconvenience) can I help you wid sumpin? I said yes! I'd like to order a cake. He walked behind the counter and searched in vain for something to write on. When the others finally noticed and began asking if I'd been helped. I again said I'd like to order a cake. They all searched for an order form. Then I requested a book to pick out a design... The guy looked at me and said the printer is broken... I said I'd like to look at designs please. And he said again thru annoyed eyes... printer. Is. Broken. Now I just wanted to get an idea really of a design to honor my friend. Wasn't fonda take a printer. Just some flower arrangement really. I have shopped at Fred Meyer for 50 years. I know it's not a local store anymore, but it always held a soft spot in my heart because, you know, it's Freddy's - a little more expensive than some stores, but you get it back in good customer service. I no longer hold that view after my experience tonight at this Johnson Creek location. In reading these Yelp reviews, I see I'm not the only one to be treated rudely by their Customer Service team. It still came as a surprise. A simple return became the Customer Service agent yelling at me in front of other customers for not exiting his line in the right direction, telling me he wouldn't process my return even if his manager told him to do so. Why? I hadn't raised my voice and just asked him to do his job and to call a manager if he couldn't which he refused to do. His computer told him one thing, but it was wrong and he couldn't see past the technology. After this experience, I had more shopping to do, but went down the road to Walmart to do it instead. If the associates at Freddy's are going to be equally as rude as Walmart, why not take advantage of the lower prices? It's all very disappointing and sad. Fred Meyer is no longer my go-to. read more

I'm definitely a fan of Freddy's and this location. Love that I can pick up plants for my garden, a workout top and groceries at the same store! This particular location is huge, and that means it takes more time to get in and out, which is why I give it four stars rather than five. I'm just not a fan of huge Costco like footprints. The store is well stocked and generally organized and clean, unless you happen to be there during a crowded weekend. Lines move fast, lots of self checkouts, and friendly service. Plus there is a Fred Meyer gas station right in the parking lot making it super convenient to pick up groceries and fill up on gas. This Freddy's is not near my home so it's not a regular stop, but I run errands on SE 82nd, so if I'm out that way to hit up my favorite Asian markets, I stop here and Trader Joe's before heading home. read more

This is a great Fred Meyer, truly one of the better locations in the PDX area. The store is routinely well staffed and organized offering you multiple departments chock full of a large variety of options. The slogan "One stop shop" could not be more accurate. I have always found the staff here to be helpful and not the type that you have to hunt down to help you. They are plentiful in number and actively working the floor so you have help if needed. The deli and produce areas are fantastic, might be my favorite FM store to shop these areas. My ONLY gripe about this store is the amount of shoplifters that are ruining the experience for everyone else. read more

I hate going to this Fred Meyers so much, and it sucks cause it's the closest grocery store around, buy id rather drive 15 min somewhere else than continue to shop here. And I've never stolen anything from there, but because I come in looking like I just work up, they stereotype, and follow right behind. And I use to love shopping at Fred Meyer and be in a good mood having fun looking around and shopping, and always left feeling so violated; and tore my confidence down. so I started leaving my purse behind and only bringing in my card wallet would help (and it doesn't) The customer service is absolutely horrible!! This is a well stocked store! My only issue is that you can be hard pressed for finding the scooter to ride around in when you can't walk well. Other then that, they are always stocking empty shelves and replacing items taken. read more

Really really frustrated and upset with Fred Meyers lack of awareness when it comes to the handicapped. Often they will not have electric carts which is understandable and happens. What is completely unacceptable and not okay is they keep taking away the benches that people use to wait for these carts to free up. Why this keeps happening I do not know. Johnson Creek Fred Meyers is a great store! honestly I know most of the people that work there and they go out of their way to make sure the customers have a wonderful shopping experience! especially the home department, they make sure that the customers leave wanting to return and bring family and friends alike. There are those few people that would complain just to hear themselves rant but other than that the store works tirelessly to make people feel welcomed There are some of the employees that will go above and beyond to make sure the people get what they came for or means to obtain it even if it's calling around to other Fred Meyer stores to find what is being sought after. So I'll be the first one to give the best feedback about that store over many other Fred Meyer stores it's hands down one of the best! read more

I am so angry I can hardly see strait. I just spent 1.5 hours trying to get my freaking curbside pickup groceries. I arrived at 10:10am, my window was between 10-11. I had to call 3 times asking where they were. Each time I was told they'd be right out. Each time it rang me to customer service 4-5 times before the pickup people would answer. My car died as I waited because it took so long and I didn't realize my headlights were on. I had to jump my car in my slippers without a jacket because I thought I wouldn't be getting out of the car. read more

Great for anti-maskers! They don't enforce mask wearing, at least they didn't all summer or so far this fall. They don't wipe down their carts, but they do have wipes so you can wipe it down yourself. However, all the other grocery stores I go to (Target, Costco, Safeway, New Seasons) do take the time and effort to do this, and people at those other stores are (generally) better about wearing masks, so I'll shop at those places instead. Organic selection is pretty good for a mainstream store. Produce (regular and organic) is better than the Safeway near me, but the meat department here isn't very good for stuff beyond the basics. Side note: the pharmacy here is terrible. Understaffed, lots of staff turnover, run out of common meds without any info on when they'll be in stock, if other Freddy pharmacies have the med, etc. read more

The good: gas station. This location is just outside of the city limits, therefore, gas is slightly cheaper due to the absence of City of Portland's 10c/gallon fuel tax. The fuel station has lots of pumps, have good hours and very competitive priced. The bad: proximity to Spring Water Corridor and the corresponding vagrancy in store, drug activity in bathroom. Fred Meyer, as a company needs to implement a strict policy on no public power outlets as the electric carts provided for customers with disabilities have become the point of congregation by vagrants and transients in-store for stealing electricity to power their smart devices. Not only are they unsightly, it is also a hygiene issue for these carts. read more

Very worth the $5 to avoid wandering the aisles spending our time shopping. I used Fred Meyers grocery delivery service and received produce of poor quality: soft onion, soft sweet potato, small beat up bok choy. When I place the order they said they had toilet paper and Kleenex. They said they had dry beans, lentils, coffee, and other fresh produce. These are the items I needed most and then upon delivery they didn't have them. So I paid a lot of money for very few poor quality items. Paid for the delivery service and they charge you the tip up front when you place the order. I would not recommend this service. read more

Not my favorite Fred Meyer but a lot of that has to do with the clientele and neighborhood. People are nice but a lot of theft going on. If they cannot stop that, it makes me wonder how safe it is there. I saw someone that looked homeless guy walk out with two sleeping bags under his arms. The Starbucks here is a solid 5 stars. The free fruit for kids is 5 stars. Employees are friendly, the store is nicely laid out. However, it's bizarre what goes as far as magazine offerings. The Globe often features dead celebrities on their covers & it's literally the last thing I want to see when I drop by to pick up dinner with my toddler. Magazines featuring plus size females almost always get covered for some reason but Robin Williams dead with strangulation marks? Totally cool. Right at the register, right at eye level. I don't get it. I'm not a prude I just don't understand why Margot Robbie in a bikini is okay but Ashley Graham wearing more is covered? Why is that a problem? It's obviously not just this location. It's at Fred Meyer & Safeway but it's this store that's closest to my house. It's what makes me not want to shop here. It's frustrating because it seems obvious that this would bother anybody with any sort of a heart. He went to Home Depot to buy home improvement supplies, when he paid the gift cart was diclined because both carts was not have any pin in it. I went back to Fred Meyer to asking for help. I've gone there to get groceries with my family several times. It's always nice but sometimes you go there and you can get food poisoning. Also hey want you to shop there as much as possible and don't like it when you go to places like Winco or Costco to get your groceries cause it's cheaper there. They tend to be a bit pricey but for me it just evens out. I know that they have really expensive crap lake a $30 Nerf gun that day so we bought two of them didn't work and when we tried to take them back they refused. First time in a Fred Meyer supermarket. Went during a recent visit to Oregon. They're open late! The enormous supermarket had endless aisles for snacks and food supplies. Thankfully, they're friendly staff was Abel to guide me to the areas where I found the supplies I needed. I walked out to there with plenty of snacks. The cash center lady was so rude from the moment I was on the phone to ask a simple question if they cash cashier checks she gave me a rude tone and confirmed they did then once I got there she said they didn't and argued with me that I didn't ask if they cashed cashier checks. So rude nothing friendly about her at all. I wish I got her name (a larger lady with glasses). Never going to that store again ! Wasted my time and didn't even apologize for the confusion or anything. read more
