This review is just for the store and does not include the pharmacy. I am a fan of Walgreens and stop in often to purchase my over the counter vitamins when they have a BYGO deal, which is typically once a month. I never buy them unless this deal is on. I also like Walgreens for various beauty supplies - lipstick, mascara, lotions, shampooo and conditioner, nail files, cotton balls - all at reasonable prices. This location is not my regular store, but since the Walgreens in NE on my gym route recently closed, I stop in random Walgreens when I am out and about running errands. This location is clean, spacious, well stocked and has plenty of parking in their lot, including handicapped spots. read more

I have to say I never thought I would have much to say about shopping at a Walgreens but my expense tonight deserved a mention. I don't expect much from a drugstore especially not right before closing but this store gets an A + The young man (a manager) was downright lovely. He was super friendly to everyone and offered to go out of his way to help me find something multiple times. He had a positive attitude that was contagious. This Walgreens does a good job in a sometimes-difficult neighborhood. They have been very helpful when I had special pharmacy issues, and their selection of general items in the store is great. They have some magazines I haven't seen anywhere else. A bonus is that they share a large parking lot with a Trader Joe's and some other stores and restaurants, so it's easy to park once and do several errands. read more

We had an appointment at 5pm for my daughter to get a covid booster. We didn't leave until nearly 6pm. What is the point of an appointment? It took 20-30 minutes just to check in. Then after sitting and waiting for 15 minutes the pharmacist tosses the clip on the counter telling the staff that "he didn't sign the paper," without even checking who it was for. They handed me someone else's paperwork to sign. The last thing I want is them to mix up the paperwork for a booster for my 7!year old with an adult. Seriously get it together. The only saving grace was the woman in the festive sweater at the window. She was nothing but merry. read more

The pharmacy is staffed by the saddest, most spaced out, unhelpful, miserable, overworked yet lazy looking staff. I never know if they will be open during their stated business hours. Prescriptions filled late (on their end- I order in a timely manner) with no explanation or god forbid, an apology. Ha ha nooooo. They were bad before the pandemic, but since 2020 they seem on the verge of collapse every time I deal with them. I keep going back! Because I live close by. But I need to re think that. Somehow doubt that any Walgreens in or around Portland is any better. Advice: don't develop chronic illnesses requiring prescriptions filled at Walgreens by Johnson Creek Blvd. read more

awful customer service. Made an appointment for vaccines. Got a call weeks later, the day of the appointment, that they were cancelling it because it was booked too close to the pharmacy closing (even though the site let me book the slot). I also had to call them back because they left a vague voicemail on my phone to call them. then I waited ON HOLD for 30+ minutes before anyone answered.... and was promptly told I had to rebook my vaccines because there were no longer any spots. just an awful experience with walgreens. I normally do not use Walgreens for vaccines and now I definitely never will. read more

The night manager is very UNPROFESSIONAL! He just told me - I was not a priority they had bigger problems than a photo I explained to him it was a gift, and I placed the order well over before time to close. This was placed 2 hours before the store closed. When it came time for pick up, my friend called first. She was told it was too close for the time the store was supposed close to get it done this was at 9:20pm the store closes at 10:00pm - I was told when I called my book I ordered was not a priority. That the time listed is a tentative time. I live out of state in NC and placed a photo book order in well enough time. If it wasn't going to be done today I should have been emailed or called. I understand things happen but there is no reason for a Manager to state to me they are having issues - and tell me I better not order anything during Christmas because I can expect it to be a week late? What? That's irrelevant it's August! All I needed was a simple I apologize we were understaffed or we ran into something unexpected and we were unable to get that taken care of. Not to be told that I'm not a priority- After spending hours making a photo book for someone as a gift to be told my time isn't important. He then said well if that's the way you feel! I scheduled my flu shot appointment in advance along with filling out the online form thinking that I would be in and out for my appointment. I arrived 15 min early in which the front office assistant at the pharmacy took all of that time to update my account. I had to fill out the form that I had already filled out online. I then waited another 20 min to be vaccinated. There was only one other person in line. I'm pretty sure they had forgotten about me because once the other person came and got in line, the front office assistant saw me and I was called within a minute. No apologies were given for my wait. Including the drive there and back home, this was a one hour long appointment. My advice, schedule your appointment elsewhere or walk in since the appointment times don't mean anything. read more

It's your typical walgreens, nothing different from most locations. I love that they have the drive through pharmacy and If I can't make it to my Providers office for a routine visit I can just stop in and get it taken care of in less the 30 minutes with there on call NP. It took me 5 minutes to get my flu shot they were a little busy and I skipped making a same day appointment which can be done in minutes on their website, if I'd of done that I wouldn't of had to wait 30 minutes to be seen (my loss) So I'll make sure not to skip that part from now on.I don't really shop here, so i can't comment on the customer service up front, but the staff in the back is always in rush mode. I would recommend it for the medical services offered though. read more

I scheduled work around this appointment and they said they couldn't get me in at all and made no attempt to accommodate me. They said the next appointment is 2 weeks out. get real read more

Called seeking an appointment for Shingles vaccine. After I waited forever on hold, I was told I couldn't make an appointment by phone. So I want online and made an appointment for 10a today. Arrived at the pharmacy window 10 minutes early, as instructed. Nobody even opened up the window until 10:05a. Hurry-up-and-wait is the policy here. Finally got the shot at 10:40. Wow. Just wow. Called to find out if they carried hair pins (not bobby pins) and was placed on hold....and left there. After close to half a dozen hold cycles (yes, they would pick up and place me back on hold), a different woman answered and had no idea what I was doing on hold. I asked her the same question and she said, "Oh! She put you on hold. She asked me that like 10 minutes ago." Yeah. NOT a happy camper. Oh! Drive-thru pharmacies are just novel to me. Coupled with the super easy online refills, digital picture upload/prints, and a huge store that is never too busy, this Walgreens is it for me. Sometimes, in the mornings, there is a crazy older woman who works the front check-out. She'll chat you up about nothing if you're not careful. Regular staff and cashiers there are always friendly and nice. I don't pop in much unless it's just for something quick. The pharmacy tech though today was rude at the drive thru. He cut me off when I was answering he's questions, acted bugged that he had to help me, I almost complained before I left. I usually enjoy shopping at Walgreens in Milwaukie, unless I encounter their bitter, elderly female employee. (ID purpose only, nothing to do with age, I'm a senior citizen myself). Most of the time, she is rude when asked for help and insists on charging extra if you want even the smallest bag for your purchase, which other employees don't do. Obviously, she's an unhappy person who's trying to spread her misery. I no longer shop at Walgreens, there's a Rite-Aid across the street. read more

Walgreens is supposed to have a deal with the VA to administer Flu shots free to vets. The VA must not pay well because nothing seems to work when you go to Walgreens for your shot. The pharmacy clerk had my VA ID card in her hand and still could not make the computer system work. I think Walgreens deal with the VA is a sham. read more

The only redeeming quality about this store is their pharmacy. The fact it's a drive through and their staff ONLY at the pharmacy is consistently kind and helpful. It's also in the same lot as my favorite, Trader Joes and a bank. The customer service and energy in this place are all over the place. I have to brace myself before entering. I wouldn't come here if it weren't for the convenience factor and I can print my tons of photos easily here. The quality of photos is kinda crappy and I've had awful customer service at this counter (if they're even there, or show up). You can often find online coupons to discount your crappy prints. The staff is either overly, sickenly sweet, or they ignore you. They really seem to like to yell across the store. Their selection is okay, great if you're in a rush and mainly shop for sale items. You have to make sure to sign up for their club card so you can get points to use toward product in the store. Big points for refilling prescriptions. Came in handy this spring when my family needed a new humidifier. I really would like to leave more stars and a better review. However, after shopping here for the past two years, I can't in good conscious fake the funk. The last time I was here, there was a human shit splatter on the brick wall where people park. Maybe an angry customer? Did I mention I also hate their lighting? I just try to stick to the cashiers I know and get in and out. read more

You know how 1-hour photos should take ONE HOUR? And you know how these days, you can upload pictures online and request for it to be done in one hour, and then you go into the store to pick it up? All that is awesome. It's supposed to be speedy service. And it shouldn't be that hard either since digital pictures basically just get printed... It might've been more skilled when actual film was being processed, but now the monkey just needs to press print. Well, my photos might've been finished in one hour, but let's talk about how long I stook at the register trying to pick up my photos. I stood at the counter for five minutes, and then realized I had only seen one employee at the cash register. Now, that's fine. It's not like she was just standing there. There was a constant flow of haggered looking costumers popping in and going straight for her line because they really needed their smokes. I decided to walk around since she hadn't noticed me, and then that's where I saw all the other employees. There were at least three employees towards the back, and at least two of them were pretending to work. One was actually re-stocking, but the other two were making sure everything on the shelf was in perfect order. Don't get me wrong, I like a tidy store so it's easier to find things... But I don't think someone needs to get paid to re-align shampoo bottles that were a quarter of an inch to the left instead of dead center. So that girl, and the other lady pretending to organize things were just dead weight. I go back to the front after checking the place out, and stand at the photo center for another ten minutes. At this point, I find it less entertaining that these people are idiots and start to get annoyed. A few minutes later, the lady at the register yelled across the store, "Have you been helped?" So, in the same rude manner that she yelled across the store, I gave a very loud, "NOPE!" A guy came to help me finally. I think he was a manager because the only reason he was near the front of the store and heard the other lady was because they had called for assistance, and I think they needed a manager to do a return. He asked me if I was there to pick-up and what name it was under. I had counted out exact change for my photos 10 minutes earlier (I only had two, so it was $0.38), so I plopped it down on the counter as soon as he found my pictures in the little basket. I grabbed them and walked off as soon as he verified that I gave him exact change, I didn't need the receipt, and I didn't need to waste any more time waiting. When he realized I had walked off, he added, "Sorry about the wait!" All I replied was, "It was only 20 minutes of my life." The whole online, 1-hour photo process is supposed to save time. But considering Walgreens is a place that wastes time, go anywhere else that has this service. read more

This Walgreens just moved its location closer to Happy Valley on Sunnyside. The cashiers I've encountered have always been helpful and friendly. BUT at my trip last night my cashier had to call the manager (blonde hair woman prob in late 30s) to void a transaction and ask a question and she was SOOOO RUDE!!!! Rude to me && even RUDE TO HER OWN employee. I felt bad for my cashier for how the manager spoke down to her in front of customers and other employees,especially because she was just trying to be helpful to THE CUSTOMER. Probably my last time there in fear of coming in contact with this lady's major attitude. I will just take my business to Rite Aid which is right across the street (and I shop at WAGS a ton!) and I will be telling all my fellow Wags shoppers not to go there too. Whoever owns this store should be careful she's going to scare away all your customers and NEW customers in this area. It is one of the best drugstores ever! The pharmacy department is extremely caring and helpful. The pharmacist even called my husband as a follow-up to see how he was doing on some new medication. The manager of the cosmetics department is amazing and on par with any Nordstrom or Neiman Marcus counter manager. She really knows her stuff and glorifies her job with professional knowledge. She could work at a higher level but prefers the less stress of a competitive department store and the warm family atmosphere of Walgreens. It is my go-to place for many items. Also have used their photo area for passports pictures and that was efficiently done as well. I guess I just can't say enough good things about that place and their great customer service read more

The best pharmacy ever! Been going there for over 7 years and never had a mistake! The pharmacy manager Van is wonderful. The assistant manager Steve is also great. Honorable mention also goes to April, they all work so hard under demanding work loads. One day a few years ago I met the store manager, I do not remember his name but he was a nice guy and very helpful. The store is always bright,clean and well stocked.
