The clerk opening it will escort you to the nearest register now set up in different departments. For example, I saw a new one set up in Men's clothing. What I would suggest is make the locked item your last purchase and you can pay for all your purchases then and not worry about the long checkout lines up front. I wonder though, how long this method will last? We all know how long it can take just finding an associate to open up the locked display.
