This Rite Aid is close to my home I used to like to drop in and pick up what I needed but lately this store is always so low on everything from cosmetics ( completely bare shelves) to medicine it's been months since I have seen cold medicines in stock. The freezer's are always broken so no ice cream. And I really feel uncomfortable stopping by when it's dark there outdoor lights are always off and the parking lot has very little lighting. Always the Rudest pharmacy in town. Went to pick up my medications and saw a sign on the window saying their window computer was down and to come inside. Since I'm sick (hence why I'm there picking up medication) I decided to go back later and try my luck. When I returned around 7 I waited behind a truck at the window who did receive their items. However when I pulled up to the window I was informed the window computer was down and to come inside. I asked why didn't the vehicle in front of me had to get out. She informed me because he had his children. I said well you can't treat different customers differently. She said she wasn't. But just for him because he had children. And she would not provide me my medication which I had already prepaid for on their website. read more

March 18 &1:30pm. Two employees working the front was asked by my son for a restroom key (he's a grown man) Rude and said they couldn't find it. I walk up there and the female Hispanic gal was not willing to look. I asked for manager and a male employee mouthed off a rude comment and I had to mouth back. I finally got the men's key. Wow if I could give this store NEGATIVE stars I would. I just had the worst experience with the MANAGER of the Pharmacy who is the Pharmacist as well. She called me and started yelling at me about the wrong prescription that I picked up.. yet they gave it to me? Where is the miscommunication? I had to hang up on her because of how bad she was yelling at me. I thankfully live close by so I drove to the store and as I approach the counter she hears me speaking, she runs over and continues yelling at me in front of everyone! I still had to pay the $$$ for the prescription that they messed up! I am so upset and disappointed with this store considering I've been going here for 8+ years and never had any bad experiences. zero stars for this Rite aid. The pharmacy. My daughter has just had knee surgery for an accident at work. The day of surgery she was sent home with a prescription for her pain meds. We brought her home and immediately called your store bc she was in a lot of pain. My son-in-law called your store to ask if her meds were ready for pickup. Well the pharmacy tech said he never received the request. We asked him repeatedly to check twice. We even called the other store thinking we may have called the wrong store. Still nothing. So we called the surgeon and was told that he sent in the request the day BEFORE. So the surgeon called the pharmacy and put in an additional request. We were even told by the pharmacy tech that they were presently not busy. My son-in-law went to the store and decided he would wait as long as he needed. So when he arrived at the pharmacy he was told it would be another 1/2 hour. My daughter said she has had trouble in the past with this particular pharmacy. She has vowed now that she will never return. I myself have stopped using Rite aid as my pharmacy long ago. You need to review your system and not give excuses for your level of incompetency. So I went to Rite Aid and happened to pick up some alcohol, and the lady at the register literally treats me like a baby and as if I'm lying about my age and had a fake ID. She first asks to see my ID, which is normal, whatever, then she tells me to take it out of my wallet. I'm already a little irritated at this point. Then she literally holds my ID up to my face, looking back and forth at my face and at my picture on my ID. FOR A GOOD SOLID MINUTE. Then in a rude condescending tone says "You're so young!" I just gave a fake smile and was like "yup.." but was actually so embarrassed, this was totally unprofessional and uncalled for. This was definitely a first for me. Half the time I don't even get ID'd. I didn't happen to check her name tag, but she was tall, slender, older woman with long gray/silver hair. This is a new store so it's still very neat and clean. Every time I walk in I get greeted by every employee and they're always helpful. I can get in and out of there quickly and never have to stand in a long line. This location also has a Thrifty ice cream counter so it's a great place to drop by when it's hot outside or you just want that great ice cream. read more

This is always a well stocked, clean store. My only reason for not giving them 5 stars is they always have huge lines!!! Oh my gosh always, like we need another drug store or liquor store in the neighborhood just to give a little relief. If you go after 5 pm be prepared to wait in line or on a weekend. I pass this Rite Aid on my way to and from school. Unfortunately for me, they don't open until 8:00 so I can never stop there on the way to school to pick up last minute items. It is handy to run to at lunch or after school, though. This location, on the Northeast corner of Olive drive and Jewetta, is typical for Rite Aid stores in Bakersfield. They carry Thrifty ice cream and have a large selection of refrigerated drinks: milk, water, juice, sodas, energy drinks, and beer; and munchies. The selection of cosmetic products and over the counter medications is good, the store is clean, and the workers are always friendly. The convenience factor is high because of their proximity to work. If only they were open earlier, sigh. read more

I had to come back to update my review, as well as remove two stars. I am so disappointed with this location lately. I was in this store yesterday with my son and daughter. We were walking down the food aisle when we came across two (HUGE) dead roaches in the aisle. I was mortified. I walked to the counter to let the associate know what we found. The associate called another worker who then responded, "NOPE! Not picking it up. I don't do roaches! Sorry!".....Wow. My son happens to be HIGHLY allergic to roaches, so this concerned me. I let them know that not only was this a health hazard but a hazard to my son because he is allergic. The employees still refused to pick them up. We are talking about two extremely disease infested bugs in the middle of an aisle where there is nothing but food, come on. Not to mention the fact that it looks really bad on a company to just have those chilling in your aisle and not clean them up. I will never visit this location again. read more

My family uses this Pharmacy. We love it! Nice to grab a few things! Smiling as they greet you coming through the door and telling you to have a good morning, Day & Evening. Employees are always nice & pleasant. Store is always clean and tidy. The Ice Cream selection is nice, I think they have atleast 12 flavors. Great snack for the kids after school any time of year. Desert after dinner. Or just bike riding to get an Ice Cream Cone or a Cup. They do not sell bread here but they have most everything else I've needed. They sell a very large variety of things! Great place to pick up stuff for the holidays. Perfumes, Nail Polish, All Season Decor (Seasonal). Something for every season. The have a wellness card and you use it to save up points and you get points on how much u spend. If u have a family it can really save you some money. I average ab a $15.00 savings off my next purchase there a week to $15.00 x 2 =. $30.00. I buy my milk there it's Code Dates r longer than most of the stores & it is usually cheaper too. One of the best ice cream placed in BAKO. Serving sizes are huge!! Ice cream is always fresh. They also have the Dove chocolate with Carmel and sea salt. These are hard to fine. Yelpers, have you ever had one of those days where you just need to stop really fast at the local drug store to pick up a few items cause your dealing with a sick and complaining child. Your thoughts are that you will be right in/out in a jiffy because it's 9:30 in the morning and the parking lot of said store is empty. Well that's what I thought would occur... Ran in, grabbed what I needed and headed to the register within a minute.... To my dismay though this Rite-Aid seems to not believe in having someone actually at the check out counter. So I stand there waiting 5min before I have to go looking for someone. Now, I've been to this same store on many occasions so I don't want to say this is a regular event, but the employees knew I was in the store... Other than attending to me, they just seemed rather preoccupied with personal conversations. I have no issues with this store other than the service I did not receive today. Store was clean and had everything I needed... just lacked attention to the seemingly only customer that was there.
