The pharmacist and employees do not communicate well to each othe. The man pharmacist is rude and doesn't hesitate to inform you over & over he is in charge and he makes all the decisions, not Dr.s or corporate. He decides who can get prescriptions filled there & who can't. He tells people they are established customers and he will fill their prescriptions and those he choose and tells them they are not established and will not fill their scripts when they have documentation that they have used El Tejon before in the past.Depends what kind of mood he is in.. Take it from one unsatisfied customer. We will not be using this pharmacy. One star is too many for the pharmacist in charge.​ read more

They have an inept communication system for informing you about whether a prescription that has been filled or expired. They can't leave messages so you often don't know what's going on. When you say something about this, it's not their fault - clearly, it's yours. On top of this, their manager is an extremely rude and self-important person. The young people working there are doing their best, so they aren't to blame. Perhaps its their monopoly as the only pharmacy in FP that makes them feel untouchable. read more

Upon arrival the pharmacist treated us like drug addicts and publicly shamed us in front of the whole store for trying to get prescribed medicine for pain management. As a long time customer of this pharmacy, I tried to hang on and continue to do business here. But I will join the other two 2024 reviews of this shit show on Brundage with my last negative review of this place. There are several problems with this pharmacy and our medications. One problem is that they do not keep certain medication in stock. Sometimes they are able to order and provide the medication. This year over the 4th of July holiday it was very hard to get medication, and I was required to drive back to Bakersfield while I was on a job in Ventura to find out the delivery person had my medicine in the delivery vehicle. I did eventually get the medicine but it should not be that hard. So here comes Labor Day, and I tried hard not to have a repeat of the prior fiasco. I called everything in on Monday August 26. The whole week I would get a few medicines here, a couple there. I was in this store like four or five working days in a row. The good pharmacist was on vacation and the store was left in the care of DGAF amateurs. The insulin pen was on order and was supposed to be in on the 30th. The pharmacy had been sold during this last part of August. And some asshole accountant with the new owner not only canceled the order, but the morons at the pharmacy did not even notify me that some asshole canceled the order. I was finally able to get the insulin pen from another pharmacy on Wednesday September 4th late in the day. El Tejon and my family had a good run, I think 11 years or so. But service has gone to shit over the last few years. When I go to your counter to buy medicine it is not the same as buying glass cleaner or wiper blades at Auto Zone, or bread and a candy bar from Dollar General. The products sold at this place warrant concern and an effort to provide product as if the employees dispensing said products gave a shit. The stupid employees at the counter will tell me that the doctor has not sent in refill authorizations when I know better. I have sat on the sofa inside and called to verify that the authorization had been sent, then gone back to the counter. After looking into FAX room, the doctors authorization is there all the time. And over and over and over. I could write another full page of incidents. To the good employees here, and you know who you are, thanks for helping thru the years. And to the new owners who canceled my wife's insulin order on or about August 30, I hope you fail. read more

I am a huge supporter for utilizing small businesses. I've had El Tejon for a few years, and the quality of customer experience went down significantly. My meds would always be delayed or they weren't ordered. I had to call in to make sure they got my doctor's orders to fill my meds. I've used this pharmacy for over 15 years and they're wonderful !! I have to take 11 prescriptions a day and they manage my medication. Everyone is friendly, helpful, supportive and professional. They always answer my questions and have my prescriptions ready timely! Frank and Kelly are so nice and knowledgeable. Take to long with emergency prescriptions. Went to Urgent care, diagnosed with Covid, prescribed paxlovid, called to see when ready. When I show up they hand me a bag without it and only cough meds. I call them and they tell me they don't carry it??!! could have told me that this morning when I checked. now may not get meds until tomorrow. never going back. if you have an emergency on the weekend than your screwed. that's happen to me more than once!!! read more

Picked up a prescription. Only took an hour Employees were very friendly prompt. Mask were worn. They also had a drive thru window, which is very convenient. good service. I was a customer there for over ten years with plenty of medical issues and plenty of medicine prescriptions. Out of the blue El Tejon Pharmacy decided they didn't want my account any longer. I have 10-12 medicines that I have refilled monthly including controlled medications. evidently they are only alotted a certain amount of the controlled medications and I'm on an amount that they decided I was prescribed more than they would part with. I guess they're Doctors as well as pharmacists now. As I said, after 10 years of patronage they left me hanging without the medications that could give me grand mal seizures- dangerous high blood pressure that could cause me to stroke out or cause death amongst a lot of other effects. the attitude I received from there management was a " tell this guy what he wants to hear and get him off the phone" attitude. they suddenly after all these years decided my $3000.00 plus a year wasn't enough money out of pocket wasn't enough for them. sounds bizarre to me so much so it's like there is a lot more to this story than they're letting me know. if you're willing to put your health on the line and have your medications yanked out from under you with out a true explanation-gamble on El Tejon. Vegas is giving great odds that you too can be treated crappy and descriminated against, being stereotyped against is very humiliating. We, American Indians have put up with way to much of this type of prejudice. Protest this type of treatment people and boycott all "El Tejon" Pharmacies. read more

I LOVE this pharmacy. I've since moved across town and El Tejon is no longer convenient. But, with their free delivery, I'm seriously considering a move back. Especially now that Vons has done away with their (previously) awesome rewards program. El Tejon isn't a grocery store. They aren't a big box store. They don't carry ice cream and diapers, lip-gloss and chocolate bars. What they do carry is pharmaceutical items (some OTC, most not) with a big dose of friendly service. The turnaround was always pretty quick, but more importantly they were accurate. Never did I have billing errors, or the incorrect medication. They were meticulous about these things, and happy to solve any problems should they arise. The local delivery option is a life saver. Picking up a prescription may seem like no big deal, but when there's soccer practice, piano lessons, dog grooming, tutoring and all the other added items to most people's live, a simple service like this means the world. El Tejon has been around since 1928 - obviously, they know what they're doing. read more

Wow! First time that I actually leave a pharmacy not feeling frustrated and or having wasted my time! The pharmacy location itself is very convenient. The inside looks modern and up to date and is super clean. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous, getting me and my prescription in & out in about 15 minutes. That's about how long it takes at the big chain pharmacies to JUST drop off my prescription! The pharmacist handed me the medicine and asked if I had any questions or concerns. They will also deliver your prescriptions free of charge. They have a 24 hour refill line which can also be done via their website. I was a little hesitant to use this pharmacy since their hours are Monday-Friday 9am-6pm, but since they deliver, I won't have to worry about rushing over to pick up my items. read more

El Tejon provides excellent customer service. I appreciate having the option calling in my prescription and having it delivered by their courier or via mail. Yes, they will mail your prescription! The folks are friendly and seem to like their jobs. Also, when we needed an expensive piece of medical equipment, El Tejon sold us the equipment and billed our insurance for the item while Walgreens wanted us to pay first. It saved us the hassle of wrangling with the insurance company over a reimbursement. read more

No way will I give a five star rating. You ask me at drop off if I want to wait for scripts and I say no I'll come back just to make sure they get done. Not only are they not done prior authorization and insurance approval is required. Why couldn't you call me and tell me this?!?! New customer to El Tejon. Called El Tejon to transfer my monthly prescription (3 weeks before I needed the medication). El Tejon told me they couldn't get that exact "rare" brand but could get something similar. They told me they would have to order it. So I settle for the different brand. Never heard back from them. I call them three days before I need the medication, they tell me they haven't ordered it but will order it now. No word. Call back on the last day and they tell me it didn't come with their order so they were going to call around for it. They called me back a few hours later and said they couldn't get it until tomorrow. How much notice does a pharmacy need to retrieve a prescription? That same day, called Hina's Pharmacy (River Walk location) for this "rare" brand. They told me it's very common and many of their customers use this exact medication. Poor Service. I was told they would not fill my prescriptions until checking my insurance and calling me with a price. I was informed that the process would take a day or two. When I said I needed one particular prescription filled and that I would just pay cash, I was told no. The procedure was to call, give me a price and then fill my prescriptions. After waiting 2 days and no phone call, I called Hina's pharmacy and my prescription was filled in 30 minutes. 4 days later El Tejon called me and said my prescription was ready for pickup.
