10/10/2025 My daughter called Walgreens to confirm that her medication would be filled correctly, she was hung up on 4 time. She was in the hospital and needed the medication upon leaving the hospital. The pharmacy at hospital also called. They were also unhung up on. We went to the pharmacy in person, gave them an insurance card. We found out they to do take Anthem Blue cross which was new for my daughter. She still was also still covered through family medical. They then said they could not use her family medical because that was a secondary insurance and we would have to go somewhere else or pay out of pocket. We choose to go to a location that took Blue Cross. They promised they would transfer all the medication for us. Once the pharmacy called for them. They did transfer 2 out of 3. I had to go back to Walgreens for the 3rd and most important medication. They were rude, unhelpful and unknowable on how to use specific insurance. The Walgreens on Ming Ave and its staff continue to exceed expectations. This includes their pharmacy and pharmacist "Dr. Daniel."

Is there a score lower than a one? If you can help it don't ever go to this pharmacy. They are not efficient. They lie. The sign says their lunch hour is between 1:30 and 2:00 p.m. but guess what? They won't even think about coming to the window until 2:15 p.m. And if you need to pick up a prescription by 1:30 p.m. you can count on the fact that they will be leaving early after you've rushed all the way down Ming avenue to get there before 1:30p.m. Even if you call them and they tell you that they will be there and just come to the drive-thru You can count on a sign at the window saying that the pharmacist is not on duty and you've wasted your time. Then you can count on waiting for 45 minutes untill they come back. And if the store manager tells you that he will get them to open the store at 1:58 p.m. don't believe him because they won't. Even if you are sick. And they know you are sick because you told them you are. You told them you did not want to wait. And if you think that the store manager will help you, think again. He just lies too. So it's no wonder because employees emulate their managers. If you have a bad manager you are going to have bad employees. Btw... Don't even expect an apology because that is never going to happen. read more

I have always shopped Walgreens for their great sales. I have been really trying to work the app and the digital couponing for the store. I gave it a go on Sunday and it was an epic fail. I will say the manager was super patient and as helpful as he could be, but it was not a good trip. It was also the first day of back to school items and they were all gone. It appeared they had very low stock for offering such low prices. We got a few good deals but quite a few things just didn't work with the coupons or were no longer available. I'll still shop here, and I will get better at figuring this whole savings thing out. read more

Inside the store shopping is fine, usually only one checkout open and the line can get long, I'm ok with that. What I'm not ok with is the pharmacy! First, have you noticed that the drive thru has two lanes, yet the outside lane is inoperable? In the last 8 years, my wife has prescriptions that are carefully monitored by her doctor, and every time it's time to refill, it's a guessing game as to whether the pharmacy will fill it, or give it the runaround, with excuses such as "out of stock" or "insurance problem". These aren't new prescriptions, they've filled them for years. I recently read stories about customers unable to fill prescriptions at Walgreens due to personal beliefs of the pharmacist, their disagreement morally with YOUR prescription. The script will usually be delayed with the above excuses. The moral of this story, is that, if you have any medication that is controlled by the FDA, is morally controversial, or the pharmacist doesn't agree with for any reason, expect to make a few calls to both the pharmacy and your doctor. Please Walgreens, invest in upgrading your pharmacy, hire more personnel, and get those outside lanes operational, you put them there for a reason! read more

Horrible service! While visiting from out of town my friend broke his arm. We took the prescription from the hospital to this Walgreens and waited 20 minutes in line to drop it off. When we finally got help, the lady told us "sorry" we close in ten minutes and can't do it in ten minutes. Even knowing he had just left the hospital and we waited for twenty minutes they refused to fill his prescription and told us to try somewhere else. Unbelievable! read more

I'll admit I try to check other options because Walgreens tends to be higher in price than say Walmart or Target , but my optometrist prescribed some drops that kaiser, cvs (target) or Walmart weren't able to carry . All over a bag of pretzels ... my friend & I came here simply for a bag of pretzels. We noticed there was an aisle Christmas on clearance. There were plenty 8.5 x 11 signs taped on every shelf "50% off, buy 4 get the 5th free" So of course my friend & I took advantage of it. It's annoying that Walgreens does not have a price scanner on the floor. Its 2020, keep up with technology; all stores are doing it. Instead, you have to have to ask an employee to check on their register, which is another inconvience for shoppers because sometimes they're busy or you can't find anyone. Anyways, my friend & I each had a cart full of Christmas clearance. Since there was only 1 cashier, & there were particular items we wanted a price check on, we were letting other shoppers go ahead of us. Finally, we were able to do a transaction. The cashier (tall, lengthy, w/ long hair) was so rude. Just her body language & demeanor. When she would do a price check & didn't want something, she literally threw it on the floor not even the counter. lol. Rude much! Another employee had to tell her to pick it up. Considering that there were some items regular price & not marked down &&& such a pain with this transaction, they wouldn't even do a price adjustment or call a manager to let them know. Staff need to double check items on clearance aisles to prevent this from happening. After my transaction was complete my friend went to another cashier. This employee (wears glasses - forgot her name) was super patient with us & polite. She even adjusted some items free that was part of the sale. From the moment we stood in line, let other people pay ahead of us & all this price checking Transaction between my friend & I took about an hour. read more

They're lucky I can't give ZERO stars! Warning: RACIAL PROFILING of Black customers at the Seven Oaks Bakersfield location: 3300 Buena Vista Rd. My (Black) family lives in an affluent neighborhood right across the street from this store so we have spent thousands of dollars in that store. We shop at Walgreens at least 3 times a week. My kids go in practically every day during the summer. However, today, 2 workers named Katelynn & Alondra decided to follow my Black child around the store claiming that she stole a pop tart. Mind you - with $9x.xx on her Apple Cash and $3xx.xx in my Walgreens Rewards account! Do the math. She has access to almost $500. I reminded them both that Black children are getting shot due to people lying on them. Trayvon Martin was shot because someone SAID they SAW a gun, but it was actually a bag of SKITTLES. When my husband & I went to the store to speak with Katelynn & Alondra, they were both in the back of the store nowhere to found while a large group of White kids were in the candy aisle. One of the kids said to his friends, "Hey, I should take some gum..." So, that begs the question why was my 1 Black child (who is only coming in to use the bathroom) being stalked by 2 workers, but 7 White kids were literally taking about stealing in the candy aisle and no workers to be found. I told Katelynn & Alondra that's discrimination, but Alondra thought it was funny and was smirking. Walgreens - I'm calling you out. You have to do something about this! read more

So you falsely advertise sales and don't let people mix n match but it doesn't say that on the advertisement then when you ask the manager about it she doesn't even acknowledge that you asked her about and just acts like you said nothing at all and walks away. But i just saw a guy walk out with two huge packs of paper towels and 2 more of toilet paper without paying but you can't give me the sale price????? That's crazy!! But they sure as hell can just walk out with free stuff!! Mind is boggled. Tremendous customer service for someone who is actually paying. SMH! read more

This Walgreens Pharmacy is so AWFUL that 1 star would be WAY too generous of a rating! There are so many different issues and problems at the Ming and Stine location! 1. When you are waiting in line to pick up a prescription it takes FOREVER! This has happened on many different occasions especially during the weekday mornings! There may only be 1 or 2 people ahead of you but it still takes an eternity!! 2. The management is horrible and clueless at this location on Ming and Stine! There is never enough staff helping behind the counter. The same worker who is running drive thru also has to help out up front so as a result everyone waits in line for way too long! Sometimes also they have to answer phones. 3. Also there are many different people who come to get a vaccine shot I get it! Here's a brilliant idea why don't you create a separate line for vaccine customers and the ones picking up prescriptions. Then maybe it wouldn't take forever!! They tried doing that awhile back and then they stopped for some reason not sure why because the lines moved more quickly back then. 4. Also the clientele that frequent this Walgreens are somewhat shady. Also a lot of homeless people and other shady characters hanging around the parking lot and also come inside of Walgreens. I actually don't feel very safe going to this location either! 5. The only reason I even went to this Walgreens in the first place was because I started picking up prescriptions for my parents. Sadly my mom passed away 2 months ago. Recently we have switched my dad's prescriptions over to Hina's Pharmacy due to all of the BS and problems we've tolerated for the past 3 years at this Walgreens location. 6. I actually belong to the Walgreens on Buena Vista and I can definitely tell you it's like night and day difference in customer service. The majority of the time I never have to wait in line very long and they treat the customers with way more respect than at Ming and Stine!! 7. There are many different pharmacy choices in Bakersfield and I wanted to inform everyone of how HORRIBLE the Walgreens treats customers at Ming and Stine location!! read more

Even though the Walgreens is in the hood... it was empty so it made parking easy cuz the parking lot is super tight there was hardly, I may be counted three bums and my friend was in and out of the store but going in the store... it is very clean the employees have always been nice when I've gone to get pictures printed they have always been very fast, within the hour. The pharmacy is used a lot and it does take a long time outside the drive-thru.... it's pretty normal. the overall store is clean and kept up well read more

I came here to prints photos from my wedding and the cashier JASMINE told me I can make copies her co worker comes and says no it's against the law to copy my photographer photos which I didn't know I needed her permission which makes sense now that it was explained but after waiting 30 mins and getting charged for it makes me really upset Something she could have told me since the moment I walked in ! We buy our blood sugar testing supplies here. So far they have always had our brand in stock. This store is slow, but the employees are friendly enough while wasting the customers time. I really like this Walgreens, I find a lot of NEW items here(new gum/candy flavors, new drinks,As seen on tv items),they seem to get them from companies first for some reason. I also come here for the drive thru pharmacy, it makes my life easier to not have to get out the car for a prescription. If I could buy my other miscellaneous items through drive thru that would be perfect, but they don't have that. :-( The store is also clean and organized and the workers are always helpful. I've been coming here for years and haven't had any complaints about them yet, good job Walgreens! read more

To the girl at Walgreens pharmacy on Ming today in Bakersfield CA..... You should be ashamed of yourself for making that poor guy feel humiliated when paying for his syringes he needed to save his life! You wouldn't even let him get a bottle of water and it's 100 degrees outside today. He nicely asked you to not judge him and not to judge others as many of Americans are dying because they don't have insurance and you replied to him rudely again saying that you weren't judging him... Then this sympathetic nurse asked him if he was diabetic? He turned around white as a ghost and replied no I have a much worse disease and left with his head down. Just know that this nurse stood up for the poor guy! As well as a stranger that approached me and thanked me for saying something to you. With a tear in her eye she explained to me that many people judged her husband as well when he was sick and dying! I hope today is your last day working in the pharmacy. You are heartless! I then explained to you miss pharmacy tech, you have no right judging him, you don't know what is going on in the poor guy's life or if that was his last $5 dollars that he spent on his much needed needles or the fact that you wouldn't let him get a bottle of water and telling him that he can pay for it up front. Almost crying, I advised you that this nurse of 17 years have worked with many people some with HIV without judgement and she should do the same. And advising you that yes you were judging him! Only to have the pharmacist approach me to stand up for you and advise me that the needles were $5 dollars, and you were only doing your job, you too should be ashamed! I advised you as well that it's not about the $5 dollars, it's how she talked to him in that demeaning tone and cutting him off when he tried to explain to you that the syringes were cheaper at another Walgreens or telling the guy he can just pay for his water at the front register. I hope you lose your job as well because you shouldn't be working in healthcare either! As I'm walking out so angry and almost crying and telling my 11 y/o daughter that I hope and pray they get the message I was trying to convey to you, God put the manager in my path. At the same time the stranger was pouring her heart out to me as well about how unsympathetic people were to her and her husband when he was dying. God nudged me to share this awful incident with the manager and get you both fired! I hope you read my story and are ashamed of yourselves because you don't have any human kindness and you need to know how many people you affected with your careless, heartless words and actions. To the poor young man, I wish I could have stopped that for you, bought you a water and your syringes because I have a heart and to let you know that human kindness does still exist. I'm so very sorry, I wish I could find you and change the whole awful experience for you. I am going to say the loudest prayer for you that God blesses you! I hope God tells you how much I and another stranger cared for you and stood up for you. I don't even know why this location has a pharmacy drive thru if they can't even manage it. It's always a super long wait when I go pick up medication. Their priority are the people inside and they ignore the people in the drive thru. I will be changing pharmacy's because this is ridiculous when you have the sick person in the car trying to get your meds to just go home. read more

I have been at this pharmacy for a few years and I need to go to another pharmacy because by the time I get my Meds I'm so irritated and frustrated. I have waited for 30min at the drive thru but on average I wait around 20 to 25 which is ridiculous. They need to have more staff working. I go at all different times but when I have to go during the day I guess I should plan on waiting for 30min. I cannot walk very well so I have to use the drive thru. So if your time is important to you DO NOT choose this pharmacy! The staff for the most part are very nice. read more

The pharmacist isn't very good. I just went in and asked if the Aleve D from behind the counter would be better than Mucinex. The pharmacist just kept saying he didn't know that he needs to know what the sick person has so I told him the symptoms and he still said I don't know. How do you not know your a pharmacist. He couldn't even tell me the differences from what was in the ingredients. He also didn't go check if there was something better he could recommend. There's a separate window for asking things like that. I felt like he was just trying to push us out because it was busy. All he kept saying was I don't know. I should have just gone to Riteaid. Andy and Morena are disgusting Walgreens employees. They are absolutely horrible and should be fired. What a joke as far as customer service. I wanted photos copied. One of them... without even seeing the photo said they can't do that. Flat out. No. Okay. Side note: I've had my photos copied here every year for the past 5 years. After letting her know that, she says "who? Not us" If this is a new policy, please explain instead of just no. I left and came back because it didn't seem right. Maybe she didn't understand what I really wanted. Then both of these employees were there and the second one was a little bit more Informative about how they could be sued because of copyright laws. Meanwhile you have the employee with the face piercings (she's too old for all that) starring me down behind her. Wtf? This isn't high school sweetheart. You don't gang up on customers who have their 5 year olds with them. After all that, She was going to allow me to copy them... so now it's okay? What an absolute joke. I have never in my life been treated like that. To have all that "policy talk" to just let me do it anyway?
