As of 2025: Always out of stock of the best items. A handful of employees are kind of rude and snobbish, always talking amongst themselves. Even the manager ignores customers. It seems like the nicer employees are usually the newer ones. When doing online order with in-store pickup, they leave you waiting for awhile before anyone thinks to attend to you. Same thing if you're the only person in line, no one will come to help you until many minutes have passed and the line begins to grow. The reason I continue to visit this location is simply out of convenience, and that there are some employees who are still courteous and attentive. Initially, when this store first opened, all the employees were kind and helpful. I think they wanted to do something different than the Valley Plaza location, which had many bad reviews of snobby employees at the time. But the longer the store remains open, the more that this rudeness appears as a typical trademark of the Sephora brand. Surprisingly, the VP location has the nicest employees now. read more

I just went by the sephora on stockdale in Baketsfield CA. I parked in the curbside pickup to go get an item, but I had pickups at the store next to it too. there were no handicap options and my husband is handicapped so since we were going to be doing both, I thought no big deal. I do understand people use those spots selfishly at times but i didnt expect a store associate to come out and yell at me and embarrass me very badly. I told her the predicament of handicap and she continued to tell me to move. she was so rude and I got in the car crying. my husband was furious and wanted to see the manager but I asked him for us just to leave. I was picking up an order for my mom but I will NEVER shop at that sephora again nor do pickups. I may never shop sephora at all again due to that employee. im regretful I did not get her name. My daughter and I had a horrible shopping experience at this location. We were enjoying our girls' day until Jessica, one of the managers, walked by us several times asking if I needed any help, accompanied with a rude and condescending facial expression and tone of voice each time. We were asked by 3 different employees within a 10 minute period if we needed any help, despite me saying "No, thank you" each time. I felt as if the two female employees were being suspicious that we were shoplifting since my daughter and I had been in the store for almost an hour, browsing and deciding on which items to purchase. I understand customer service and customer engagement on the floor is important but when you are asking the same customer if they need help and giving that customer a nasty, rude facial expression accompanied with a rude tone of voice, it's a poor reflection of their customer service behavior. When we paid for our items at the register, I made a verbal complaint to the cashier about Jessica's rude and condescending behavior, tone of voice, and rude facial expressions, and was laughed at by the woman at the register, saying, "Oh my gosh, Jessica is like the sweetest person, if you give her a chance!" I remarked at her, "If Jessica is the sweetest person, then why would she come up to me to ask me if I needed help and give me a nasty, rude facial expression as she's walking away?" The female employee at the register and Jessica continued to argue back at me defending that Jessica did nothing wrong, with Jessica saying, "I'm sorry, I can't change my face...my face is just that way..." after I showed them the facial expression that Jessica made at my daughter and I while we were shopping. I responded with, "Well, Jessica, you can change your facial expression and improve your attitude." My daughter at this point was crying her heart out because of the confrontation that was taking place before her, which both of the employees continued to escalate in an unprofessional manner with no offer of any resolution. After our sales transaction was completed, my daughter and I proceeded to walk out of the store, while my daughter is still crying. Jessica proceeded to follow us to the front of the store, being invasive and rudely saying, "Excuse ma'am, excuse me ma'am, excuse me, I'm talking to youuu!" as I'm trying to console my crying daughter. I told her to "just leave us alone because we're having a terrible shopping experience here" and left. I have never experienced such a horrible shopping experience in my girls' day out with my daughter. Shame on you, Jessica! Definitely not coming back to this Sephora location and filing a complaint with Sephora's customer service department. read more

Sephora in this shopping center? YES, PLEASE. First of all, location is everything. I am so excited that I can get my beauty products AND stop by Sprouts and Nordstrom Rack in one shopping trip (also soon to be Bath and Body Works). Second, the staff here is so friendly and helpful. I felt welcome as soon as I entered the store. Finally, since it is so new, the vibes inside are wonderful. It is well organized, clean, and provides tons of beauty product options. I think I've stopped by 4-5 times since it opened earlier this month (I forget to Yelp check-in sometimes). It's a standard Sephora store but my favorite thing about it is the location. Sometimes I want to take a break from online shopping and actually go into a store to browse. I don't have to drive to Valley Plaza anymore if I want to check things out. It's great! read more

This has to be the better Sephora in Bakersfield. Everytime I come to this one I am greeted at the door by the really kind employees, I am helped immediately, and I always feel like I can carry a conversation with the people working there. They don't sound like they absolutely hate their job which is a plus, but I get how working at Sephora can be draining. I think my only complaint is that sometimes the associates push color matching onto you. I went in recently and was helped by a very nice young woman and everything went fine until she asked if I needed a color match. I just laughed and told her no thank you, and we talked a bit more and she decided to basically force me to comply to a color match for a foundation I wasn't even interested in. She kinda took it upon herself to apply product to my forehead without my consent. I'll give her this, the product did match very well but it's like...no thank you lol. Then she asked if I needed a tissue, I said sure, she walked away and never came back lmao. The entire situation was pretty funny looking at it, but it's just because I find anything funny, but this could've happened to the wrong person and started an issue. I figured I'd write this review because 99 percent of the time I have a great experience, and the workers seem very knowledgeable and great to talk to. Reili is my girl! Wow! After being super frusterated by going to Ulta and the mall I landed here which just happens to be the closest beauty store to my house, yay! This gal went above and beyond in every way. She is the one who took my call the other day when I was asking what they have to offer at their store, the one that greeted me and helped me through my whole first Sephora experience. I was going in for some new makup to work with my changing post baby skin and I ended up leaving with skin care products that will actually help my skin to make my makeup look better and my skin on non makeup days.(most days mom life) I learned SO much from this girl! She truly took the time to listen to EVERYTHING, I mean truly everything I said. Skincare is what I really need to be focusing on to get the look I'm wanting to achieve with makeup. I had so many ideas going in there and walked out with nothing I thought I needed. After just a few days with my new products I can truly see and feel a significant difference in my skin already! Reili has a wonderful work ethic and very professional demeanor. She dresses and presents herelf very well. She showed me how the products worked instead of just telling me. She didnt rush me at all and they were busy. She was even being a teamplayer when she was helping me, but in a way where I still felt 100% focused on. I've worked in customer service and customer service management for years and she gave the feel and presentation I always strived to give and for my team to give. I'm itching to go back already to get her advice on some other cosmetic interests I now want to look into like lip coloring and honestly just to go back. I had such a fun time in this store. Never thought I would have fun looking at skincare products. There was another gal with blonde hair I believe named Jessica that was very kind and informative too.
