These folks are top notch being very fast, friendly and helpful…read more They're right next door to our doctor's office which is very convenient and, as another reviewer mentioned, we switched from another pharmacy we've been customers of for nearly 20 years. That says a lot about how impressed we are with them.

I originally thought this was a good pharmacy but after some time I've changed my opinion of them…read more Many customers (not just myself) have issues with this pharmacy claiming they haven't received a prescription from a doctor. The doctor is then asked if it was sent and of course it was but the pharmacy can't find it. Also, prescriptions don't seem to be filled until the customer asks them to. When I get a new prescription come in from a doctor it should be filled immediately. On top of that the pharmacy doesn't seem to know what medication(s) are being filled/picked up. Another gripe I have is this pharmacy claims to be a 90-day pharmacy meaning they fill prescriptions for a 90-day supply (provided the insurance company pays for that). This being said I was told that some medication only is filled for a 30 day supply as they have other customers. I suppose this could be from them being such a small pharmacy and not having the purchasing power of larger companies. They seem to be a very manual or hands off pharmacy. There's no interactive website or app. They don't seem to autofill medication. I've had several prescriptions not be filled unless I ask every time even when there are refills remaining. The only good things that I can say is the staff is friendly and they're much quicker to deal with. If they actually did what I need them to do I'd give them 5 stars. However, I've had a couple of my doctors warn me about this pharmacy. I was skeptical then, but no longer

Catherine at Hageman Rd 24-hour Walgreens is a total rock star! I had been fighting Medi-Cal/KFHC…read moreand CVS for over a week on a Prempro prescription that kept getting denied and glitched. I finally gave up on CVS and walked into the 24-hour Walgreens on Hageman last night completely fed up. Catherine took one look at my history today; instantly knew the real issue (Medi-Cal refuses the combo Prempro pill but covers the estrogen and progestin separately), cancelled the problematic gel script the night staff had tried, switched me to Premarin 0.3 mg tablets (which is straight-covered, no prior-auth or override needed), and had it approved and ready at $0.00 in less than an hour -- all by herself, no phone calls to the doctor, no waiting until Monday. Night staff had been confused and kept pushing the gel route, but Catherine fixed the entire mess in one visit on a Saturday. She's knowledgeable, fast, and actually cares about getting people their meds the same day. If you're on Medi-Cal in Bakersfield and running into hormone replacement coverage nightmares, go straight to this Walgreens and ask for Catherine. She just saved my sanity. Thank you!!

The absolute worst Pharmacy in Bakersfield, had a surgery and sent the pain prescription here…read morebecause they are 24 hours, they said they were not dispensing pain meds that day. Came here today and they said it would be 30 minutes although they were given the prescription the day before. Still waiting an hour later, after surgery the goal is to not behind on pain, that is way past and I'm in agony. Damn you Rite Aid

I had been hearing about Hina's for years before my coma. After my coma, i have a lot of…read moremaintenance meds. Honestly just filling 1 medication a month at cvs was always a problem. So after my coma in 2016 i made the switch to Hina's and i don't regret it. 1. I was able to email my med list & have them request the transfers from cvs, i appreciated that they let me do this. Repeating information somehow gets me worked up (workin on that but that's besides my point). They were nice from day one, i appreciate that. 2. Hinas is the one pharmacy in my life that i feel like has gone to bat for ME (the patient) the most. My meds are always filled, if somethings unavailable, they communicate when it will be in, the techs contact my doctors and make notes to do things & follow up. They have done so much to go above & beyond to help me. I can't even put it into words. They do all they can to work with the insurance & my providers, to be sure I'm not out of my meds for a day. (A large chain, would never...) 3. If i ever have a question for the pharmacist i can just call and ask. Sure you can at any pharmacy pretty much buttt Ed knows who i am, he knows my history and doesn't need to verify my entire list of personal info (in front of a store full of customers) to tell me, to take something at night, instead of in the morning. Also he knows I'm persistent.. i stay on top of my prescriptions and faxes etc to my doctors so he works with me and anticipates my needs sometimes even before i know them! It's incredible. I'm saying. I have no regrets switching to Hina's. Also i mean they're a local small business. Who doesn't want to support that? And the delivery, two rounds? Sooo incredibly helpful! The drivers are all so nice! I appreciate everyone at Hina's. Thanks (if you see this) for everything!
