The staff here is always friendly and helpful but the store is half empty. I was told they weren't restocking until something was purchased. This he said was due to the amount of theft. That makes no sense to me because they have list so much in sales from under stocking. I don't know if it is that they aren't in the profit range or just not well managed. This used to be my favorite CVS because it is close to home, but I'll be going further afar from now on or maybe on to RiteAid. The problem is you get a lot of great discounts for using the CVS APP for purchases. I'm hoping whatever the problem is they can rectify it. read more

Picked up a prescription for my wife today, They charged me full price for her meds, Although we have insurance. I asked the pharmacist why my insurance was not applied, she said she doesn't know and that I could wait to pick up. But my wife needed the meds now. I don't think they should say they're ready to pick up if the insurance has not been applied. $50.00 instead of $5.00 really sucks. read more

Experience the worst customer service by an employee named "Sam" older guy twice my size raising his voice at me in front of customers when I asked a simple question. It could've been answered with no problem. He chose to instead belittle me and yell at me. I have never in my life ever been so embarrassed by anyone. The store itself is great but the pharmacy is a disaster. Been coming here for years since the one on California closed. First of all the drive through rarely has the second lane open and when they do they act like you're a jerk for using it. The sign says they won't fill a new Rx at the drive through because it will cause long waits. Yesterday I'm pretty sure that's exactly what they did. We waited a LONG time. When we pulled forward we were told we could not use a Good RX coupon at the drive through. And that they needed to close the window for lunch soon. Wow. I'm a physician that works in the area and also unfortunately a patient here. This location is the worst. If you need to prescribe something, plan on 20 to 60 minute wait times. If you drop your prescription off at 9AM and they promise it will be ready by lunch time, it's probably a lie. This place needs a major managerial overhaul in the pharmacy department! I am a family physician. This is the WORST pharmacy to deal with. They told my patient they would not fill his medication. Then when I called the pharmacist he started with some BS that my DEA wasn't valid (no other pharmacy has ever had an issue). Then he says "wait, let me see if we even have the medication". Of course, no surprise, he didn't have the medication. Riiiiiiiight. Cvs can always order medication for next day delivery...except in this case, of course. Wonderful courteous staff! We were here from out of town and getting back on the road to head out of town, had an emergency with our son. The pharmacy open at 8 and we had our prescriptions by 8:15! Don't ever go here! I dropped off my prescription yesterday and was told to come today at 12.... Keep in mind I had surgery today and am in incredible pain! I got the notification at ten saying it was ready. My buddy went at 12 to pick it up and the most important pain medication was not ready!!!! Terrible pharmacy. Kept telling me my Dr hadn't phoned in my prescription. The dr had to phone it in 3 times because of the rampant incompetence at this pharmacy. They are very disrespectful of the customers and talk down to them. Prescriptions are rarely ready when they say they will be. Today they told me they had to phone my Dr about the prescription that the Dr had had to phone in to them 3 times. Unfortunately I didn't read the reviews otherwise would have gone someplace else. Just spending the night in Bakersfield and in need of a charging cord for my phone. Walked in and asked the cashier right inside the door where I could find one. "Uh, in electronics?" and with a vague wave towards the back of store, she turned back to her register and the nonexistent customers sending me off in search of the cord. After having read all the overhead signs and walking up and down the aisles, not only did I not find the cord but also the electronics section. I did find another employee who was pricing merchandise so I posed the same question. "Oh, they are on the front counter, let me show you where". Where turned out to be about eight feet away from the cashier. So a little exercise is good but both my husband and I use canes and truly could have done without the 11pm trek thru the CVS in search of a phone cord. Returning to the cashier I told her that the phone cords were on the front counter. "Where???" she asked, "There" I answered and pointed. "Oooh" She rang us up, we paid, then she turned to my grandson who had picked up a bag of candy that I had just paid for and tells him "You haven't paid for that." Handing back the receipt I told her that we had and to count the items. Sure enough she had charged us for the candy. All this happened with no one else in line, no one even in sight. Never again. The store is ok. Line usually not long at cash-out & store fairly clean & stocked. Pharmacy on the other hand is horrible. Takes too long. Drive thru takes approx 5 minutes per car and going inside isn't any faster. Go to a different location to fill your prescription, for sure. Only been here once. They had exactly what we needed. The pharmacist answered all our questions politely and informatively. The other two staff members we came across were nice and helpful as well. Store was clean. No complaints from me. Would not hesitate to go here again if needed. By the way, they are open 24 hours according to the sign on the window. read more

First of all 5 stars are for who I am assuming was a shift manager, Kirk Dinison. A woman came in and was very unkind to this man arguing about how some coupon was supposed to be for what she wanted. He said "you know ma'am this is not for this item, but we will just wave it and apply it anyways" he was saying this and she just continued to be rude and belittle him. He kept his composure and was kind regardless of her behavior. She he tried to explain it kindly and say ma'am we'll accept this coupon, but she just kept on her rant. Saying one more of these incidents and I'll be shopping else where as all the people behind her just stood looking on shaking their heads. Kirk you have some serious customer service skills, I'm sure your going places. read more

Before I start my review, let's go over the definition of "customer service": "Customer service is the act of taking care of the customer's needs by providing and delivering professional, helpful, high quality service and assistance before, during, and after the customer's requirements are met." Now that we have that out of the way, I can continue. The customer service, or lack there of, of this establishment is awful. I just visited today and was treated like absolute garbage by every employee. I picked out my items and proceeded to the register. The woman at the first register barks at me, "I CAN TAKE YOU". Oh, alrighty then. I put my stuff down and she barks again, "CVS CARD?!?!"..... Uh, sure. At this point I'm annoyed because her entire demeanor is rude, snobby, and not caring at all. I paid for my items and she didn't say a word. I said "uh where is my bag???" She proceeds to raise her voice, "you can pick it up right there". Where? Oh, that's right, on a shelf that is not within arm's reach. How hard is it to hand a bag to a customer and say "have a nice day"? You don't have to be sincere. I don't give a flying elephant if you hope I have a miserable day, but you can at least properly do your job as a "customer service rep". This is the general demeanor of most employees at this location, with the exception of Flo, who I am unsure is still there or not. Awful experience. Will never return. read more

I came over to this store in the middle of the night a couple weekends ago for allergy medication. I was the only customer in the store, and I saw two employees. One of the employees followed me from aisle to aisle, watching to be sure I did not steal anything. I asked the guy why he was following me and he denied it saying that "no I am just stocking". Of course this asswhole is stalking, we just have a difference of opinion in how it is spelled. I am a lot of things, but a shoplifter I am not! Leave me alone punk and let me shop. Went to purchase some medicine and I noticed that this store has all their condoms locked up and a button to push if you need to purchase some. I was appalled. (This community has the highest STD rates and teen pregnancy. No one is going to ask for assistance to purchase condoms, as it is already an item that many people judge others when purchasing). I spoke with the manger that advised me they are locked up due to theft. I advised him of the facts in our community and that is not going to help the situation. I ad used him that no one is going to ask and wait for someone to op n a cabinet so they may purchase some. He said it was a corporate decision not his. I advised him that condoms are not that expensive and they shouldn't be locked up for the health and safety of our community. He couldn't help me. Called the corporate office and received a much better response. I'm hopeful this will be remedied and an individual will not be forced to talk to another when purchasing a private item like condoms. read more

Called in a prescription. Waited 1 to 1.5 hours to give them plenty of time to fill the script and also called them to submit my insurance info to ensure there was no wait. They wouldn't take it cause they can't do it over the phone. Arrived and had to wait in line for 20 mins. Then finally got to the register. Then they reverted me to another line for insurance info. Which was another 20 min wait. Then they said it will be 1.5 to 2 hrs wait. OMG! read more
