Catherine at Hageman Rd 24-hour Walgreens is a total rock star! I had been fighting Medi-Cal/KFHC and CVS for over a week on a Prempro prescription that kept getting denied and glitched. I finally gave up on CVS and walked into the 24-hour Walgreens on Hageman last night completely fed up. Catherine took one look at my history today; instantly knew the real issue (Medi-Cal refuses the combo Prempro pill but covers the estrogen and progestin separately), cancelled the problematic gel script the night staff had tried, switched me to Premarin 0.3 mg tablets (which is straight-covered, no prior-auth or override needed), and had it approved and ready at $0.00 in less than an hour -- all by herself, no phone calls to the doctor, no waiting until Monday. Night staff had been confused and kept pushing the gel route, but Catherine fixed the entire mess in one visit on a Saturday. She's knowledgeable, fast, and actually cares about getting people their meds the same day. If you're on Medi-Cal in Bakersfield and running into hormone replacement coverage nightmares, go straight to this Walgreens and ask for Catherine. She just saved my sanity. Thank you!! read more

The absolute worst Pharmacy in Bakersfield, had a surgery and sent the pain prescription here because they are 24 hours, they said they were not dispensing pain meds that day. Came here today and they said it would be 30 minutes although they were given the prescription the day before. Still waiting an hour later, after surgery the goal is to not behind on pain, that is way past and I'm in agony. Damn you Rite Aid read more

If I could give them a zero I would. Just left there and again I am being made to wait 31 days to get my 30 day pain medication.. Even after standing there with my phone calendar and counting days with him he still said he cannot fill my prescription. For the years I have been on this med it was refilled every 29 days so I never ran out. Now if there are 31 days in the month I have to wait 31 days. We both stood there and hand counted the days and he could not get past that Feb. has 28 days in it and now I am being made to wait 32 days because there was a plus 2 added because Feb. has 28 days, which I understand that but when we count days together on the calendar 30 days is 30 days no matter how many days a Month has. Always such a waste of time to call ahead. When you arrive after calling and confirming pricing or availability it's always a different story when you arrive even with names that gave you pricing. The store was good, the pharmacy however is not. We took our child to an urgent care during an evening and the closest pharmacy that was still open was this location. The prescription was sent to this location ~5:45pm and we arrived at 6pm. We were told the prescription would not be ready until tomorrow. I call in the morning and only 1 of 2 prescriptions were ready according to the automated service. I kept calling for 3 hours trying to get through to talk to a pharmacy staff member about when the other prescription would be ready but i would be put on hold and instantly hung up on. I ended up calling the original urgent care and had them send it to a different pharmacy. I called that pharmacy and they answered the phone, answered all my questions and i had a good experience once my business left this pharmacy location read more

Month after month I experience issues . I have to call to check on scripts every month usually due to shortages. I am generally on hold for 30 minutes at a time and then not even answered. They will pick the phone up and hang it back up. So frustrating In search of a new pharmacy. read more

This place is terrible, DO NOT HAVE YOUR RX SENT HERE!! I was forced to have my stuff sent to this pharmacy when Rite aid shut down. I gave the store a chance to adjust the Influx of people coming over with their prescriptions. However, it has been months and they have not got their stuff together with hiring more staff and are not efficient . Expect to wait 30 mins to an hour in line . This pharmacy is always difficult to get in touch with. There have been several times I have called, been placed on hold, waited for 30-45 minutes, only to be hung up on. I dread having to call the store for any prescription refills. Every month there is a delay on my prescriptions due to "insurance" verification or some other insurance issue... Every time I call, I ask for the system to be updated so that my profile shows that I pay out of pocket for prescriptions, yet I have the same issue every month. Yesterday, I received a notification from the pharmacy that my prescription refill was not approved and that I need to contact my physician. However, my prescriber submitted this request three days ago... so there are inaccurate descriptions on why medications are being delayed. I called this morning at 9am to follow up with the pharmacy and they assured my my medications would be ready in "90 minutes". This is after they told me to come back in two days and I insisted I needed the medications today, as one of them was submitted days ago. So, I arrived at 3:30 pm and none of my medications were ready, and they advised that once again, there was a delay with insurance. Once I mentioned that I usually pay out of pocket, they asked me to return in two hours. This pharmacy is on the opposite side of town from me, I have spent a lot of time driving back and forth, waiting on hold, and making phone calls to my doctor to ensure that medications are being sent through. Although (some) of the employees are kind and apologetic, it's an issue I have to encounter every month... I thoroughly stress about having to make a simple phone call to this location. read more

Ordered curbside, received email AFTER 9PM! Drive to Walgreens to find out they don't do curbside after 9pm! I suffer from level 8 pain 24/7 and getting out the door, loading and unloading my walker only increases that already unbearable pain! When I called they didn't even apologize! read more

Worst Pharmacy I've ever been to, had to switch over from rite aid and it has been miserable. Constant issues with filling prescriptions and the service is terrible. The lady that was helping me just walked away and never came back, apparently she went to the front counter and left a line of people waiting. They blame the doctor for everything. I really like the pharmacy. The pharmacist on staff is always helpful and kind with questions and he always tries to get in a timely matter if he sees you waiting a while. I think it's always a long wait as this pharmacy is the only one open for 24 hrs a day. Overall I changed to them as my primary as ic had the best experience here by far. read more

Worst experience I have every had with a Walgreens. I called earlier on 12/30 to transfer prescription over from another location since traveling out of state. Instead of transferring to this location they sent one prescription to Grand Rapids Michigan's. I don't even live remotely close to that state. Then when I ask to transfer it to their store they say they can't do it and then say they are out of stock and sent it to a different location without updating me when I already got confirmation texts and calls that there were ready from the hageman rd phone number I called. Now have to wait another day to get my Meds. It's not wonderful this location has poor reviews. It's safer to take the time To listen and talk to the customer rather rush a request and completely mess it up completely. read more

Worse experience going through drive thru pharmacy. My Rapid NAAT covid test was scheduled at 9:45am online. The drive thru window does not open until 10am. So, I waited. Finally a tech comes to the window at 10:04am just to tell me its going to be a 10-15 min wait because they have to get things ready. I let him know my appointment time was at 9:45am he said, the system hasn't updated their hours so that is an error. Then he comes back to tell me my rapid "get your results in 2hrs test" system isn't working well and I may not get my results till next day. WTH! Pharmacy system was down at 12 pm on a Monday. Wife just had surgery and needed meds. Had to go to Save Mart. Luckily they take my insurance. Update. 2/2020 pharmacy still sucks. Finished doctor at 11:30am. Two prescriptions. Get a text at 1:48 saying it's ready. Go in at SEVEN PM. One is ready the other, is not. If only I could give 0 stars on this app. I would definitely do it. The store itself isn't bad, it's their pharmacy department. Every Walgreens have different stocks of their vaccines and you NEED to make an appointment beforehand. The vaccine I needed is a 3 series so first shot, come back a month after for the second and 6 months after the second one. First vaccine: made an appt and came on time. waited 30-40 mins with 3 people in front me. 1 pharmacist on staff the time I went. Second vaccine: made an appt and came on time. Waited 30 mins with 4 people in front me. Now, the pharmacist had the audacity to tell me to reschedule because he won't be able to do and there is only 1 pharmacist on staff. Now, my question is... how come the other pharmacist was able to do it with only her on staff but you can't? WTF. WHAT IS THE POINT OF AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU DONT DO IT ON THE DAY I MADE THE APPT? Also, while making me wait the entire time to just tell me that. Then proceeded to tell me to come on a Tuesday between 2-4. Don't they ever think that we do work and have jobs. THIS IS WHY I MADE AN APPOINTMENT because I can work my schedule around it. Well, obviously, I couldn't make it and nor did I have my paper for them to be signed off with me on that day. Walgreens made me pay for my meds the first round the second round my prescription was not filled for 3 sleepless and painful nights. They didn't care when I confronted them about their blunder. Went in today to pickup a Prescription it wasn't ready, only to find out I'm out of refills since it's the weekend and a narcotic I won't be able to reach my doctor until Monday. So that we'll put me at least 3 days without my Lyrica. This is not the first time they have done with a script it is a continuous thing with them. Typical of this pharmacy is there is one girl working the counter, and one working the drive through. Lines getting held up because the one girl working the counter has to check people in and fill out paperwork for a vaccination shot. This is the only 24/7 Walgreens in the area so definite stars for convenience! After all, emergencies don't have set hours so neither should Pharmacies! Walgreens is a favorite place where I get my herbal remedies besides vitamin shoppe! I love how many different types of stuff they have and I also love the Walgreens brand Toilet Paper! It's easy and convenient and the cost is so worth it! This is where I get my Tuna and cracker kits that don't require mayo! I love the salt and pepper Tuna kits! It's easy as a quick meal for myself and comes with a Carmel. Since stopping dairy or limiting it at least, I have lost weight and my breathing spasms in the middle of the night has decreased! That's how I figured that was my problem! I like how much thinner I feel overall. I also love Keto protein powder they sell here! I am sure it also has been having an effect on my weight and overall health! Definitely a decent place and some of them aren't as good as others but this location never fails me! It can be busy at times though so do figure that, mostly on the weekends! And the Pharmacy is hit or miss. Sometimes they are busy and other times, you get through in no time! Just depends on who is working and how many other people need prescriptions at the same time. I love that they do covid vaccinations! So far, this has been the place we went for all vaccines and our booster! Not this location in particular but Walgreens as a whole, starting while we were still in Michigan! I've been customer to this Walgreens pharmacy department for about 4 years. They have the worst customer service ever. Technicians are very rude and unprofessional, both in the store pick up or drive thru. It has been like this always. They don't even know their regulars. They talk to you like a you're stupid or something. Waiting for 20-30 mins is another story. Today, there were no line in the drive thru, so I decided to pick up my son's prescription. Once again, technician Kathleen or Kathryn threw the prescription thru the window, and left. No basic ethics of "bye", "thank you", or "have a good day".
