Rite Aid - Hell - Convenience Stores Near Me - Altadena, California

I wish I could do a Jerry Seinfeld impression because I would say something like "What is up with this Rite-Aid?" The new transformation was much needed and it looks a lot better but I went in here last night and finally was thinking, I need to put a Yelp Review on this store. One HUGE observation. Their prices are crazy high on a lot of things. I mean a lot! Double sometimes. To give you an example, a small can of Friskies cat food. Elsewhere like CVS, Vons, Ralphs, it's 49-59 cents max. Here it's 99 cents. A protein powder that is $18-20 at CVS or Walmart is $36.99 here! The list goes on and on. I feel like calling Joel Grover from NBC to check into this. I didn't know companies were allowed to price gauge since they probably cater to the neighbors nearby who don't want to drive into Pasadena. I'm sure they've done their analytics and figure they make more by charging more vs having since there is not as much volume of sales done in this store clearly. I'ts nice to have close by but the pricing for many items are just way overpriced. it's bizarre...... read more

My family comes here ALL the time. We live right up the street. We have bought alcohol here with no problem, obviously showing I.D. This one time we come here with my little sister & 2 adults over the age of 24!!! & this so called supervisor Brenda says we can't buy beer because my younger sister is with us. We asked to show us the policy and she didn't want to. Again we've been here so many times without this problem & all of a sudden this lady wants to make it a problem. Get rid of her. I have been a customer of this awesome pharmacy for over a decade. Over that time, I have come to know and befriend the staff. Kathrin is the world's greatest pharmacist - she's super sweet, smart, and friendly, offers insight into the many prescriptions I take, and advises me on other medications the kids or I may need. She's my favorite in the whole wide world! Raymundo and Randy ("the girl with the blue hair") and Lisa are also terrific, all focused, and quick to relay a message or get you checked in and out. The lines are rarely long - and are typically non-existent. With my insurance plan, the prices are always reasonable and the team will help with any online coupons you can find - sometimes cutting the cost significantly. I see no reason to go anywhere else but Rite-Aid Altadena for my pharmaceutical needs! And you shouldn't either! But don't tell too many people because we don't want the lines to get long! read more

Love this store. Not Target sized n in selection but I'd rather not live next door to something that large n the traffic that goes with it. Except a few times, I've always found what I need household-wise, even Xmas decorations. Good place for ice cream, makeup, first-aid, n toiletries without the hassle! read more

The Pharmacy division of Rite Aid in Altadena is terrible. The Manager should immediately allocate some funds in training. With the exception of the African American young lady, they all need TRAINING! They are not professional. Your order is delayed often. They are not considered of their customers and they lack intergrity, meaning do not tell us that you called the doctor and you haven't heard from them, unless you actually called the doctor's office. People need their medication to help them live and your service is killing some of us. So moving forward, my family and I plan to transfer our service to another Rite Aid effective immediately! read more

First time getting photos developed here, my advice, go somewhere else. They told me I would get an e-mail when the photos are ready. I called after I hadn't received any email for 10 days. They said I should get an e-mail when it's ready, but I explained it's been a while since I dropped off for development. They said someone would check and would call me back. No one called me back. It's been almost 3 weeks since I dropped it off, still no e-mail. I called again today and explained how I hadn't received any communication and that it had been 3 weeks and that this was my 2nd call since the first time they didn't call me back. They checked, said it's ready, no apology. Not good. After I pick up my photos I will NOT be going to this location again. read more

This place is awful. I have been using this pharmacy for years, and I don't know why I haven't changed to a different pharmacy. Some kind of masochism I guess. Here are some reasons why you shouldn't use this pharmacy: 1. There is always a long wait. 2. They will often be out of the drug you're trying to get, so you have to come back another day. 3. If you have multiple prescriptions, their automated system often will call you telling you your prescriptions are ready, and when you arrive at the store, you'll find out that at least one of the prescriptions is actually not ready. 4. If you have multiple prescriptions to be refilled and they have to call your doctor, for some reason they sometimes think it is efficient to call the doctor separately for each prescription, rather than asking the doctor to approve refills on all the prescriptions at once. So you may have one prescription refilled and ready to go, while others are still waiting for the same doctor to call back with his/her approval. 5. The pharmacy often will leave you without your needed prescription for several days while you wait for them to process a refill (either because they say your doctor has not called them back or because they are out of your drug). It is absolutely wonderful to be a patron of the Altadena Rite Aid store. The remodel has been an amazing boost to community morale and pride. I would like to add that the pharmacy staff has always been polite and professional throughout the years that I have been a customer. Retail service is not easy. As hard as staff try to accommodate everyone, there is always going to be a complaining customer who is NEVER satisfied. I want to thank all of the pharmacy technicians at Rite Aid store #5526, specifically Brenda and Staci who work hard to provide professional and comprehensive counter services to their clients. I also want to thank pharmacist Janet Lam and Pharmacy Manager Katherine Bosnoyan who are amazing at what they do. This Rite-Aid location has greatly improved since its restoration. The new layout is more welcoming and open. I believe it has also made the pharmacy more uncluttered. The ice cream selection is as good as its ever been.They should probably purchase some shades for their south facing windows, as it is difficult to face the cashiers in the afternoon. read more

This is the second time I've been in the store since moving here. I'm very disappointed in the new rewards and couldnt even make a purchase. Not sure how you can purchase items if your plenti account doesn't work properly?? Cashier couldn't find my account so I wasn't able to get sale discounted prices. My wife and I walk to this rite aid a few times a week for things. Both the Pharmacy and the staff always welcome us and are very accomidating. They are going through a remodel which is great cuz they need it..but i must say they are very nice to deal with...will continue to go there for my shopping and pharmacy needs.. only thing is there is a rude man solicititing for charities outside and he is very iritating and rude if you dont contribute... he needs to find another place to hang out...he knows who i am but constantly is asking for charity...im one for charity but not his! read more

This is one of my favorite right aids to shop in in Pasadena. It has been beautifully remodeled in the staff is great. This is the worst Rite-Aid I have been to. First off, its location. I come here around the night-time because of my work and I always worry that I am going to get kidnapped or harassed or something. There is nothing else open in the plaza that its located in (except for an auto parts store and clinics I think, I can't tell). The parking lot is always so dark and empty. Just walking through gives me the chills. Then once you enter the store, everything looks like such a mess. I have been here maybe 2-3 times, and each time I had to circle the store about 5 times looking for my items and finally give up and circle the store another 2 times looking for an employee to ask for help from. They don't have a large selection of items. The store is always such a mess. Their chips aisle is non-existent; they just have two endcaps worth of chips, that's it. And worst of all, they don't have the icecream serving section, which is about the only reason I come to Rite-Aid anymore. read more

I have been coming here for awhile b/c it is near my house. Rx has taken A WEEK to fill!!!! A WEEK! I would have gone somewhere else to have it filled unfortunately my Drs office is closed on certain days so it doesn't help. The lines here are always stupid long. And while some of the checkers are super nice there are others CLEARLY unhappy to be dealing with people. Plus side, usually has everything I need. The pharmacy is full of incompetent workers. One of my issues was resolved by contacting the store manager and having her facilitate getting a simple vaccination. Second time around, I gave up. They are unwilling to help and really it seems like they don't know how to bill properly. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place. read more
