Additionally the output from the structural engineers was efficiently shown in a virtual meeting describing exactly what changes are required and they worked with the contractor to find the most cost-efficient design. All questions were answered clearly as well as follow-on questions that came up after the design review. After the plans were released and payment was made Lokesh remained very responsive to requests as they come up. I would definitely use Prostruct again if I have another structural engineering project.

It's possible that they'd been there for a long time, but I uploaded the photos to Claude and it strongly recommended getting a structural engineer to assess the damage. I put out several inquiries and ProStruct responded very quickly. I had a free phone consultation with Irvin Chua of ProStruct and he said that he could have an engineer assess the cracked beam and to look for any other sources of damage. Note, that one will need to pay upfront ($875 is their standard fee), which gave me some pause but moved forward as there didn't look to be many structural engineers with a Yelp presence. Irvin arranged for their engineer, Francis, to make a site visit. Francis was professional and confirmed that the foundation and support beams all were in good shape aside from the crack. He went over his recommended repairs and noted that a handyman could handle it and we didn't need a contractor, which saved us money. The report provided was clear and detailed and the handyman had no problems following the recommendations. Repairs are now complete and we have peace of mind that our housing support is solid again.

We were so impressed that we hired them when it was time to do a large addition and remodel to the house. Marcus, the business owner, is an experienced engineer who really knows his trade. During the design process he worked hard to accommodate my "wish lists" that I kept adding to (yikes!). At the same time, he advised me on things I should consider in order to keep costs down. I always felt he had my interests at heart, while at the same time he was doing what was necessary to meet codes, so we could avoid problems during construction and inspections. While engineers and architects seem to be really busy these days, SF Bay's turnaround time is reasonable, and when you need something in a hurry, they try their best to accommodate. This is a top notch engineering company that charges modest and fair pricing for doing excellent work. If you are lucky enough to come across them, don't hesitate, just hire them and you will be glad you did.

As a busy professional with many clients and cases, he never answer the phone promptly when urgent matters arose. While I understand that he is a highly sought-after professional, I believe that being busy should not be used as an excuse for poor communication. Competence: While I found his technical skills to be impressive, I had some concerns about the design of the interior spaces. In particular, I found that the floor plan was not very convenient for daily use, and some aspects of the design did not take into account practical considerations. As a first-time home owner, I found that his fees added up quickly, and I felt that he was primarily focused on getting the project done quickly and obtaining the necessary permits rather than prioritizing my overall satisfaction as a customer. While I appreciate Mr. Yang's structure expertise in obtaining permits, I would have preferred a more customer-centric approach, with greater attention paid to my needs and preferences. Overall, I would NOT recommend Mr. Yang to others. If you read till here, I would advise you to carefully consider the costs (time + problems left on home owner + money) and to communicate your needs and concerns clearly throughout the process.

They use Ram Jack which was minimally invasive. They truly run their organization like a well-oiled machine. Our project manager, Brett Everling, was excellent. He kept us informed every step of the way, from the project planning to the city permits and construction schedule. Communication was outstanding, and everything proceeded exactly as promised (and even a little ahead of schedule). For a project of this size and complexity, it's remarkable that everything went so smoothly. The Foundation Solutions crew was punctual, hardworking, and incredibly diligent. They hand-dug the excavation areas, which was no small task, and they treated the property with care. The amount of concrete that needed to be removed was kept to a minimum, and the concrete repairs afterward were done nicely. We did have one issue with the sprinkler system after it was reassembled, but Foundation Solutions responded quickly and resolved it without hesitation. Rise Group have been exceptional to work with on our extremely challenging home addition which required removal of couple of heavy load bearing walls and retaining walls. I had a difficult time finding an engineering firm that was responsive to this type of residential project. Rise Group Engineering was at my house 2 days after I contacted them, inspected the house in the dark with flashlights while i was out of town on business and moved quickly to prepare a design for permit. They met their committed dates to me for plan preparation. I was referred to Arash from a co-worker that was also very pleased with their performance on a full addition project in los altos. Rise Group Engineering was exceptional, responsiveness to text's, email and phone communication which allowed me to complete multiple corrections, revisions and inspection issues quickly. On one occasion, while at the City plan check, the Engineer working the counter would not approve the corrections without a clarification letter. Within minutes I had the letter by email and the second correction set approved. This was just in time to meet the inspection to get sign off to pour footings. They have been very realistic and competent in preparing design for existing conditions as well as unforeseen adjustments to the structural plan. I also appreciate their approach to working with my contractor's suggestions and at times pushing back to hold design. I have been in the commercial construction business for 29 years and work with a variety of structural engineering companies and I consider their expertise, professionalism, responsiveness and overall customer service to be at the top level of the engineering firms I know. I truly put them through the ringer, they worked into the night and weekends, they never missed a beat and came through big time! I would highly recommend this team. On my side this company deserve below star,would not recommend them to anyone. It was our biggest mistake we made working with these unprofessional guys. Henry and Eddie treated us so unfair, I thought with disable child they would have some merci but NO.First of all for small project it took 8 months for their plan to approve and their responses to city hall for fixing their mistakes was so slow, they put all mistakes on city hall but later talking to couple of architects, it was their own mistakes. After one of their friend contractor quit on us for a childish problem,they start treating us so different especially Eddie. Notice;If in the middle of the work they decide it's not worth it for them, they will start manipulating and make your life miserables. My contractor in the other hand made some shortcuts on the actual plan(how lucky we were !!). city hall required the engineer inspection we called Eddie and Henry, it took them couple of weeks to come, then they notice the shortcut, ( me and my husband didn't had any experience on these things) So before they force the contractor to fix the mistakes or help him through the process,they wrote a nasty letter to city hall which put our project to stop.and couple of days later Henry had heart attack ( they call it karma's a bitch). they gave us so hard time responding and Eddie told us the best thing is to fire them and hire a new engineer, which we had to pay again and get a new architect, it was after we hire a new architect that I find out difference between good and bad architect.These guys made our life misreable and didn't help professionally.They know how to manipulate,so be very cautious working with them. What a great experience! We had just bought out first home late last year. We needed a full kitchen remodel with a few odds and ends around the house like removing the brick fireplace and raising the ceiling for the living room. We got a few estimates for the work and Rise Group was right in line with the rest but most of all they were the only one we felt comfortable with in our home. It was obvious Jay was a genuine guy who takes pride in the services he can provide. We knew our project would be in good hands. As expected, Jay guys showed up on time everyday ready to work. They are friendly guys that were a pleasure to have in your home. The best part was we didn't have to be involved in much. We chose the finishes and they did the rest. I never had one conversation with an electrician, plumber, or counter top installer and for me that is the way it should be. It was great knowing that if any issues came up, Rise Group would handle it directly with trade involved. They finished on time and within budget!!!! Top notch service from a company you can trust. My kitchen and two master bedroom bathrooms are now complete and its beautiful! Nick and the rest of the subcontractors made this project so easy and worry-free. We actually started talking about the kitchen back in November 2018 and were about to start when we received word that the countertops wouldn't be ready until mid to late December. Nick was willing to postpone the construction and encouraged me to wait for what I wanted. He was right. It was worth the wait. During demolition and reconstruction, they kept dust and disruption to a minimum for me. they were always on time. They communicated well, and were accessible when I had questions or concerns--like the flooring. I had picked out flooring, but then didn't like it. They helped me change before it was too late. Their subs and suppliers were excellent. I did some different things with a fireplace and the backsplash--if I could describe it; they could do it!!! Yay! They did a terrific job. I didn't have to worry about a thing except picking combinations that worked for me. Henry is both fun and knowledgeable. Add to that fair and competitive. Super job ! read more

Their structural engineer (Arash) work is very professional; he leads his crew by example. Early in our search to hire a contractor to do the Retrofit to our home, Arash impressed us with his detailed information and ability to capture details other contractors missed! He finished the job on time, provided fast and reliable information regarding the process and repairs. Furthermore, the use of quality materials reflects his will to do an "extraordinary" job. He is a VERY busy guy and somehow manages to keep a smile on him at all times. His crew was led by Nick who was on top of everything. I speak Spanish; therefore, can hear everything the workers are saying. ALL very professional, kind and willing to do a good job. Perhaps is because Arash treats them with respect. We were able to participate in the voluntarily seismic retrofit program; which, RISE GROUP structural engineering team has plenty of experience doing. I recently worked with Rise Group on the accidental repair of my Garage structural and foundation damage. Before starting the repair, City wanted the design blueprint by a licensed structural designer. I was not finding any general contractor who does both the design and the construction work in a reasonable cost. After the long search, I found Rise Group (Owner Ryan) who offered me end to end blueprinting and repair work estimate in a very competitive price. In addition to the drafting and submission the blueprint to the city , he followed up with the City for the approval of the design and scheduling the inspections at various stages as required by the City. Ryan is very responsive and professional. His team did a good quality job and completed the work within the time frame by following all the city guidelines. Our 1935 single family house needed a long overdue kitchen and bathrooms remodel. In addition we wanted to remove a bearing wall and add to our living room space. Henry and his team listened, insured they understood our vision and offered meaningful suggestions to integrate the new and enhance the vintage of the house. Communication is key and they excelled. They were able to provide engineering drawings and obtain the city permit super fast. After interviewing many contractors, we decided to hire this company for the construction part as well. After having a terrible and drawn out experience with another contractor for our restaurant expansion , their team took on this project and provided a level of service and attention that is apparently unheard of. These guys did a great job on designing my new two story house. I purchased a lot in Santa Cruz county and decided to build my dream house there. I was referred to RISE Group by my architect and thank god that was the best decision I have made. My architect was skeptical on my ideas from the engineering point of view. I wanted to have windows and openings pretty much everywhere. But RISE Group experienced structural engineers made all of them happen.
