Rise & Grind was alright, but didn't impress my first time there. My wife and I decided to pop in for brunch on a Saturday morning. The staff was friendly and helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated in a booth, which was comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are stick figure doodles on the wall which are fun and give the place a unique sort of flair.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food wasn't good. It's pricey, but in fairness they give you a good sized portion. We ordered two vegetarian options and the vegetables weren't great. They were sort of bland and a lot of the vegetables were either room-temperature or cold. In particular the roasted red peppers and green bell peppers in both the Veggie Lovers Skillet and the Benny Avocado were cold. The Veggie Lovers Skillet was also a bit odd because the avocado mash and pico de gallo was very cold in contrast to the warm (not hot) "skillet." The potatoes were bad in both dishes. They were a little tough or chewy and felt like the leftovers of a hotel's continental breakfast right as they are closing. I might give this place another try, since there are other positive reviews and perhaps we just had bad luck our first time... but with other really nice options in the area, we might not be back any time soon.

We usually go out to queens, Brooklyn, NYC; this time we went out east and landed here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was completely worth it, I'm all about the design workmanship that goes into the restaurant design but also the positive atmosphere created by the workers there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was delicious and not greasy at all! Drinks and coffee were fresh, which the wife was a big fan off. I'm about to make a bold statement... Rise & Grind is one of the best breakfast places on the Island. It's right up there with Toast (I honestly think this place might be a bit better) and Maureen's Kitchen. From the second I walked in I was blown away. The decor is minimal, but very cute and clean. There is a counter up front for you to grab and go, but I highly suggest dining in towards the right and to the back. My cousin and I literally split everything because: 1) we were so hungry 2) everything looked so delicious we wanted to try everything 3) why not?? First, my chai latte was PERFECT. The mugs the drinks come in are adorable! The staff was kind and patient as we were freaking out over what we should get. As we sipped our warm beverages we decided on the following: -corned beef hash with a fried egg -fruity French toast -chicken and waffles Each dish was just as good as the last. But I have to say a nice surprise was the potatoes that's came with the corned beef hash. I could not stop eating them. Some of the best I've had! I can't wait to come out this way again and stop here. There is so much more I'd like to try.

It's a hidden gem that has only gotten better with the new ownership. The coffee was everything for me. Strawberry Latte.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The staff is friendly, but the food we ordered was so-so, and the cleanliness was not up to par.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You would think it is a high quality after waiting for 30 minutes, and there were empty tables. Anyways, once called to be seated. Our table was Wet from a wet cloth wipe. This felt disgusting, and they could have come behind the damp rag with a dry rag and wiped the wetness from the table. But why did we come? Because of the food, suitable? We order pancakes, a pesto steak sandwich, and a steak and eggs plate. The pesto sandwich and pancakes were delicious. But the steak and egg were not up to par. I do not know if the steak was old, but it gave me an old taste and was not marinated. When I grabbed the salt and pepper to fix my steak, maybe again, the taste was off-putting--I had never tasted a steak like this. The condiments need to be wiped down because they all feel sticky and are from careless poring of the syrup. Maybe serve the syrup when someone orders pancakes. I do not know the problem with this place, but this experience left me not wanting to return. Spending $90.00 for a lousy breakfast experience is insane. But what can I do? Also, they need to wash their coffee cups! We received our first coffee cup with a little lipstick stain, and now I'm worried about whether I caught anything from the person before using the cup. But the future will tell, so I'm writing about my experience. Management and the owners need better supervision and training with these nice employees who ate children at the end of the day but need better guidance.

Perhaps I'm a passive-aggressive person. I say this because in the moment, especially when at a food establishment, there are a lot of things I could potentially say but choose not to utter as they might be deemed a little...negative in nature. Case in point would be Rise & Grind where my wife and I had a "meh" visit that resulted in this 3-star writeup. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You see, things actually started off in the 5-star region as we walked in to a cute looking establishment with a friendly older woman taking our initial coffee order. The place has clever stick figure drawings along the walls and when you first enter, a nice little coffee bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You can tell that the morning Joe is important here because they have a ton of interesting and intriguing options which can be made hot or iced. For example, my wife got the rainbow cookie iced latte while I got the peanut butter truffle iced latte. Both tasted wonderful with those flavors really coming through along with a nice aesthetic presentation (check the pic). Beyond the coffee, I can't give many positive accolades to R&G, and that's from a food/cost aspect. I mean I'll say that the menu of Rise & Grind appears to be vast with plenty of options, but before even ordering, you might notice that the prices are a little ridiculous. Almost all of the omelets, Benedicts, and skillets are close to $20. The pancakes and French toasts come in a little lower at an average of $16.50. Ouch. Yeah I know inflation is a thing, but I can go to Brownstones Coffee and get an avocado BLT Benedict with a side of breakfast potatoes for $14.50. Just sayin'. And while we're sayin' potatoes, let's get into the real swings and misses about the grub at Rise & Grind. Their skillets (I got the Roasted Forest Skillet) and eggs (my wife got The Classic) come on/with "home fries" which are actually just really large pieces of undercooked potatoes with skins on them. Last time I checked that's not home fries...plus they had basically no flavor. For my skillet, the waitress asked what kind of eggs I wanted in it, and I figured over-easy would work well for the purposes of the runny yolks. Welp, the thing had hot cheese melted on top so when I got into eating it, the yolks had all solidified...I mean over-easy shouldn't even be an option if that's going to happen. Add in some tasteless chorizo, roasted veggies that didn't do much to help, and a ton of those aforementioned bland potatoes and you've got an extremely subpar skillet. For my wife, her eggs (with American cheese on top for an extra $1.50) and sausage (patties not links) were fine, but for $16 total it wasn't worth it, even if the portions were decent. Overall, Rise & Grind begins as a cute coffee spot, but ends there. Yeah the brew is great and I might even consider returning just for the caffeine, but honestly I don't think it'll happen. Food-wise there's a lot of draw from that menu, but the overpriced and lackluster tastes of their items just ruin the entire experience. Their highly-ranked Yelp score makes me truly wonder if we had an off day/order but regardless, consider this the end of my passive-aggressive review.

Rise & Grind is one of my favorite coffee shops to get work done and enjoy a nice breakfast or lunch. I got the hamburger quesadilla and a rainbow cookie latte this morning. The food was fresh and very tasty but just not my favorite thing I've had. I was hesitant to get it and should've fine with my gut on something else. My waitress was super kind about me getting some work done and I felt no pressure to have to leave or that I was invading the space. This is one of my favorite breakfast spots, it is a bit pricy but worth every penny!

We went here for my wife's birthday brunch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is a clean and well decorated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were seated fast and the service came over quick to take drink orders. We all got something different. My wife loves traditional Eggs Benedict so she got that she said it was good but eggs were over cooked needed to be runny and Eggs with Corn Beef Hash it was good as well eggs was too runny but corn beef hash was homemade and great. Kids both got different versions of French Toast the King and the Oreo both of them loved it. We will be back food and service was good.

I remember the Pancake Wich being made with actual adult size pancakes. Disappointing since this was one of my favorite dishes, now being made with child size pancakes. I guess inflation has hit us all. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Good atmosphere n vibes still.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Time to look elsewhere for my Sunday breakfast spot.

Wow, this spot is the best! The food is so fresh and their coffee took away my breath. The ambiance is such a vibe and when it comes to their service - it felt like a cohesive tribe. A tribe full of wonderful people on the inside and out who are ready to fulfill your desired requests in a moment's notice. They have these subtle doodles all over the walls that are very cute and clever. Please be on the lookout in the photos I took. I had their Classic breakfast meal. The eggs over easy, bacon, and home fries were so good. I could come here every day for breakfast. Highly recommend if you are in the area! Your's truly, a delighted raving fan.

Decided to give this place a try, normally, we would go to Buttermilk Kitchen or Toast, but my sister insisted we try something new. Well never again. The coffee was horrible, bitter and I ordered the "Veggie Lovers Skillet" and couldn't even eat 1/4 of it. The broccoli in the skillet was uncooked and the hash browns were nothing more than huge chunks of undercooked potatoes. I still gave the waitress a 20% tip because she was sweet and let's face it, the servers are not the ones who prepare your food. But we will never go back. read more

I have celiac disease and I have to be safe about how food is prepared regardless if it's labeled gluten free or not. I called this restaurant to inquire about their allergen safe precautions. I spoke to the owner and he said "nothing is guaranteed" but when I asked further how their food is prepared he was incredibly nasty and rude. Asked if food was prepared in a separate kitchen, ignored me and said "he told me the same thing five times." Told him to f*** himself and hung up. Horribly run establishment for people with food allergies. Y'all are terrible. read more

We needed to find a place for breakfast while visiting so we checked with our trusty yelp app, found this place that has outside seating because we have our dog with us, great find,food and service was excellent, inside was very nice also so either way you're covered, large selection and everything was very tasty that we ordered, definitely would go back. read more

We were greeted at the door and faced with a 20 minute wait time. After this we had very attentive and nice service. But the only issue was that the drinks were a bit overpriced, and that my English muffin took about five minutes after my other food to come out. Absolutely loved this place. Went the other day, I got basic buttermilk pancakes with blueberries & strawberries, they were so good! Soft and perfectly cooked. My caramel frappe was better than Starbucks!!!! My boyfriend got an omelet with jalapeños, mozzarella cheese and steak, it was sooo good and came with home-fries :) Everything was reasonably priced. **Shirley was our waitress, she was so friendly and kind. They so kindly made the chicken and waffles although it's on the brunch menu which I didn't notice and because I'm disabled the staff came out to the car and packed it in a special bag as I use the Walker it looks very cheerful inside we will definitely be going back there as I'm a breakfast brunch person and they're doing construction so it's been waking us up early and my son's working from home best of luck to you guys read more

The food was very tasty. Both my husband and I had the Spanish omelet. I had the Samoa latte which was also very good. I'd have given it 5 stars, but the atmosphere wasn't our style. It's very much geared to the younger crowd. We don't like the type of music that was being played. read more

Thought we try someplace new. Horrible & Expensive! Coffee was good! Cappuccino was good at $4.50 EACH! $9 for two cups! About 6 tables being served. Waitress brought over food TWICE that wasn't ours. Finally received the "Pick 3 Omelet". Well, they only "picked two". As they left out the cheese. I had the skillet, eggs were over cooked! You had to butter your own toast! Which would've been fine if the toast was hot so the butter can melt! The bill for two WITH TIP was almost $50 read more

We went today ... and yes still working out a few kinks with timing.. waited about 40 mins rather than the 20 we were told and once we ordered waited about 25 mins for food.. but the servers and staff were so friendly the coffee was hot and strong and the food was so worth waiting for and at a great price!! I had the Tony Omelette it was so good the home fries are big chunks of friend potato and onion spiced well my husband had one of the skillets with chorizo and big chunks of roasted vegetables so good and filling.. everything was delicious!!! We will definitely be back!! read more

Clean, good service and a nice vibe inside, but I don't think the food is fresh. The bacon and potatoes were soggy and rubbery- they seemed microwaved. I asked for the Belgian waffle and the waitress said they were out and waiting for more to come in- which sounds like they are not making them in house. A waffle is like the easiest thing to make on demand so I'm not sure what that's about. read more

Absolutely delicious! It's been open for 1 week and I've already been there twice. My picky toddler LOVES their pancakes and I had the forest scramble which was mouthwatering. I also had a rainbow cookie latte which was so good. Ample parking unlike further down on Main Street. I feel like this will hopefully have a better atmosphere than other places. I wish them nothing but success and can't wait to go back! read more

if i can drop a zero star review i would in a heartbeat. Absolutely horrendous. first of all, how do you own a breakfast joint and not have a bacon egg and cheese. i asked for a bacon egg and cheese and they put it in a wrap. they took they bummy dish with greasy soggy hash browns, extremely hot eggs who were probably still cooking when i bit into it, and a singular strip of bacon. then they told me they can put their entire dish into a wrap. so you know i thought it would be somewhat bearable. we waited at least 15 mins in the stanky restaurant for 3 soggy, grease filled, burning hot, almost baconless "bacon egg and cheese" wraps. i felt like the eggs were cooking still as i bit into it. me, my coach, and my dawg in the backseat got they grease everywhere. i despise this restaurant and their food. i hope their business gets run into the ground in the next few years. We went here a few months back and the food was good, but the service was insanely slow. We decided to give it a second shot and were pleasantly surprised. They have a bunch of new waitresses who kick butt. We had Arielle, who was amazing. She did a great job. Food and coffee was top notch. Prices were fair. And service was much better. read more

Went with a friend this morning, a Saturday. There was a crowd but not bad at all, plenty of distancing. Ordered eggs Benedict and Fromlette. The coffee arrived and we both almost spit it out, tasted old and burnt. She brought 2 "freshly brewed" cups and they tasted like soap or something. Horrible. The Fromlette was ok but the eggs Benedict was barely warm and sauce already congealing. Both our home fries were also barely considered warm. We chalked it up to "we tried" but won't be going back. The waitress was kind and asked if she could warm our coffee we hadn't touched. No thank you. read more

The most terrible breakfast experience ever. The Eggs Benedict were cold as well as the home fries. They charges two different prices for coffee. The decaf was more expensive than regular. I've never seen that in any other restaurant. They charged 75 cents for a decaf refill. How chintzy can you get! Breakfast cost almost $50.00 for two. Very unhappy. After leaving, I checked the emailed receipt and noticed that a 20% gratuity had already been added to the bill. I had unknowingly left a total of 40% in tips. I contacted the manager the next day, and to his credit, he refunded the additional 20% tip I left. However, that does not change the fact that customers are not being clearly informed that a 20% gratuity is already included. Many people could easily make the same mistake and unknowingly tip twice. The staff should be upfront about this. Customers should not be put in the position of discovering hidden charges after the fact. It is the restaurant's responsibility to properly compensate its employees, not to rely on customers unknowingly covering additional costs. On top of it the waitress was rude and inattentive to us.

I threw what I had left in the freezer into the garbage. Why is it that no one makes a good sausage without it having hard grizzle or bone fragments anymore? I can remember when I was young and my mother made sausage in the sauce this was never an issue. They were always easy to chew and delicious. Now you have to worry about breaking your teeth! I am sadly giving up on trying to find good Italian sausage. Since Swan Butcher closed in Bethpage, no one knows how to make it anymore. I am sorry to say we will not be back.

I left to use the restroom and when I returned I was horrified to see her making my drink with her mask below her chin! Two other workers walked by and one had no mask at all!
