Risky's have an amazing selection of BBQ options. Everything we've ordered, met all of our expectations, and then some. The beef ribs were amazingly done and grilled to perfection. It's well charred and seasoned with lots of marbling in between the meats for a very juicy and tender experience. This is a must recommend for me to all of my friends and family. I was in the mood for ribs so swung by to pick some up from this location. I did notice they tasted particularly fatty/greasy. (Where was the meat? Is the oil they're using very old? Something is off.) That night I felt a bit uncomfortable and eventually I would show the signs of having contracted a stomach bug. My body wasn't passing it fast either and I'm currently on two different OTC meds to help me get through this. I'd rather not get sick while eating out, so one star rating it is from me. I was looking for a good barbecue place near my hotel on this business trip and Riscky's BBQ came up. I came here on a Monday night and it wasn't very busy at all. I think there were 2 other tables in use at the time. Maybe everyone was at home watching the Monday night football game. Better for me as I didn't have to fight the crowds. After perusing the menu, the beef ribs caught my eyes. I was debating between the all-you-can-eat beef ribs or the combo platter. I decided to get the Riscky's Famous Full Smoker Combo with 3 meats. I got a double order of beef ribs and an order of brisket. Of course, this was way too much food for me so I had a ton of leftovers that I took back to my hotel. My coworker and I also shared an order of the Riscky's Brisket Bites. Those were very yummy. The beef ribs were pretty meaty and although not quite fall-off-the-bone, they weren't bad. I did really like the brisket though. They were quite tender and well-smoked. Service here was great and quick. My waiter came back to check on me quite often and refilled my drink in quick order. There seems to be a great amount of variety in the menu but it would take several trips to try them all. It's a pretty good place for local BBQ. read more

I decided to meet here for my Bible Study study because, I can quickly get here. Risky's provided great service. So, I wanted to tell Yelp about it. Lol. You know. how I do it! The Risky's Host Team was attentive. They were waiting for me to walk through but, I was taking my time, taking pictures. Also, The Hostess let me know where my guest was because, she came when I was in the Ladies Room. Our Waitress was super nice she included her input in our conversation which, I didn't mind. She got our drinks and order right. My friend wanted the Sampler which includes, Mini Cheese Sticks, 2 Crispy Buffalo Chicken Strips, Onion Petals, Fried Pickles and Fried Corn Nuggets. We enjoyed each bite. Everything was crispy and salty. We had the whole place to ourselves. It was nice to look around. I feel like, every time I come here. I see something different. Lol. There was only one family dining in. I am so grateful for Bible Study, great food and good service. Lord, please help our economy. May the Lord bring more business to Risky's and good tips for the wait staff. Amen! I would definitely recommend recommend this place. I went to eat this afternoon and the food was great. I had the special and would go back again. The problem i had was with the server. She took my order and someone else brought out the food. She didn't refill my drink until I was almost finished and then she offered a to go cup. Then i didn't see her again. Not even to bring my ticket until I had to ask another sever to get someone. She spoke to another table the entire time and checked on the tables around me. She finally brought me a to go drink after waiting 10 minutes. As for the food, the table ordered an appetizer of fried pickles, all you can eat beef ribs, the loaded potato, and brisket tacos. Keeping it short, Ribs- way too dry, would have done better baking my own pork ribs from Walmart. No flavor. Potato- God Awful. Couldn't even eat the skin it was so rough. The brisket on top looked like dog food and might have well as been. Tacos- just poor overall with no flavor. The place looks good on the inside, has great service, but whoever was cooking Saturday 2/21 needs to be fired. In my parties opinion the only thing this place is good for is to serve Northerners who have never had true Texas, St. Louis or Tenn. BBQ. Order total was over $100. We set off this Sunday afternoon in search of a hole in the wall Mexican restaurant but landed here instead. Let me start by saying we had been here once before and it was delicious. Not so much this time. A couple hits. A lot more misses. One the appetizers-cheese curds are good but the Brisket Balls not so much. I ordered the 3 meet combo. Beef ribs, ham and smoked turkey. The last time the beef ribs were huge and seasoned to perfection. This time they were tough and no seasoning. One bite and it was over for me. The ham was good not great. Turkey, juicy and worth a try. Potato salad was the highlight of the meal. My sister loved her pulled pork which is why I'm giving this 2 stars. She indicated a 3.5 stars overall but I just can't. The beef ribs weren't edible. I seriously left them at the rest. I'm hesitant to talk about service. This placed was packed. We haven't been here in a long time but we were in the area and thought let's go. Cons: long wait for 1 drink. Was told bartender was "backed up". Thursday evening at 6:00pm. Place was not busy at all. Took 30 mins to get a margarita. Tables arriving after us started getting food before us. When we finally got the attention of our waitress (hard to do), we were told their system went down and she has to reenter the ticket. Waitress was inattentive and difficult to even understand. I ordered ribeye med well. Picture will show thin, cheap cut and over cooked. Disappointed. I ate it and didn't complain. At that point not worth any further delays. This was our first time coming to Risckys and we were not disappointed. 10/10. I got the three meat plate which consisted of beef ribs, brisket & ham with potato salad, beans & mac and cheese and wow everything was phenomenal. My husband had a ribeye potato's and some beef ribs and we both were equally impressed. The bread pudding was delicious as well. Not only was the food amazing, but so was the service we received. Javier, Charles, Miguel & Aimee were so welcoming showing us all around the place as we are not from town. Super friendly and made us feel like we were right at home. I highly recommend trying this place out whether you are from the Fort Worth area or just visiting like us! I wish we could bring Risckys back home with us!!! Being a chain, we were hesitant on the quality of the bbq at Riscky's. I was impressed with the beef ribs, even though there were large chunks of fat on each piece. Less fat to maneuver around would have made for a far greater experience. The cole slaw was on par and fries were alright. The chicken sandwich was overcooked and lacked flavor. I came to the Camp Bowie location looking to fest on some good BBQ and all I got from the staff from this time from the time I walked in to the building was piss poor service from your hostess, some people that came in after us were seated quickly by a hispanic waiter. Then when the hostess decided to seat us she tried to seat us at the bar which we never asked for, we asked to be seated at a regular table which she did. Then it went from poor to extremely poor and bullshit!! We waited for 15 - 20 minutes for someone to at least say hello or get our drink order which never happened!! But the people who came before us were already getting their drink order and appetizers. We saw a waitress that was helping another table in our area and we were completely ignored while she got the order and drinks for the other table then went to the front and was talking to the hostess like she had no one else to help. By this time I had had enough of this BULLSHIT!! We walked out of the restaurant and the hostess thanked us - which we responded for what for leaving?? I hope no one else goes through this but if you do hopefully you will walk out and give them a scathing review as well!! read more

Looked great. First issue for Fries instead of mashed. Fries were ok. Okra was hot and fresh, green beans good. I also ordered wings but they never came out. Ribs were not so much. Dry, crusty, tough to chew because of the over smoked bark. Flavor nothing to really wow me. Sausage had good flavour but again no wow factor. So the Okra was the hero. After a week outside of Texas to visit family in Pennsylvania, I wanted my first restaurant dinner to be Texas BBQ. Despite the numerous recent one star reviews, I opted for this location. I didn't think it could be that bad and it wasn't. The three meat combo was my choice. Brisket, pork ribs and smoked sausage with beans, slaw and potato salad. Portions of meats were ample, enough for two people or meals. Everything was good. The meats were flavorful but the ribs were dry. Sides were also good. Had it not been for the dry ribs, this would be a four star review. Decor is pure Texas. I imagine it gets quite loud when full of people. Service could have been better but was adequate. Tip for Selena. Get into your job and you'll earn better tips. I will return to try other menu items. read more

Our server was very friendly, but service was very slow. It was not overly busy, but she might have been the only server. The food was not what we were hoping for when we were looking for Texas BBQ. Sad. This was probably the best brisket I've ever gotten here. Unfortunately, it took two trips to get it home since half our order was left out and I had to go back. Needless to say by the time I finally got home to eat, the side dishes were soggy and cold and not very appealing. Good meat though. Just be sure you have them double check your order if you decide to get some take out. While I do like this place, I doubt I'll be returning after tonight's issues. I don't mean to sound petty or whatever, but they used to check the orders before turning it over to you. They'd open the boxes while you waited to show you it was right rather than just hand you a bag and off you go. We are the worst kind of customer you can imagine. We are the ones who will ask for a different table after we've already been seated, we will leave a mess on the table, and will ask for a bunch of refills, extra onions, customize our order, and treat our server like our personal servant. For some reason, our server Avery was unphased by this and was so accommodating to our many needs, with a smile. She gave us pleasant conversation and was quick bringing us refills on both drinks and all you can eat ribs, and she didn't make us feel judged when we ate about 15 of them. Ordered the chopped sandwich plate - not only was this the worst chopped sandwich I've ever had, but it was also arguably the worst restaurant food I've ever had. The bun was ice cold stale and hard, with the chopped bbq more resembling dyed mush than actual meat. It literally was a soaking pile of goo, so wet it made the cold bun fall apart after 2 bites. If you order it, you'd be better served eating it with a straw rather than your hands. The coleslaw was equally awful and bland but at least it held together, I guess.... I don't know what happened to this once solid bbq restaurant, but it's gone to hell - won't be back. read more
