I was looking for a good barbecue place near my hotel on this business trip and Riscky's BBQ came up. I came here on a Monday night and it wasn't very busy at all. I think there were 2 other tables in use at the time. Maybe everyone was at home watching the Monday night football game. Better for me as I didn't have to fight the crowds. After perusing the menu, the beef ribs caught my eyes. I was debating between the all-you-can-eat beef ribs or the combo platter. I decided to get the Riscky's Famous Full Smoker Combo with 3 meats. I got a double order of beef ribs and an order of brisket. Of course, this was way too much food for me so I had a ton of leftovers that I took back to my hotel. My coworker and I also shared an order of the Riscky's Brisket Bites. Those were very yummy. The beef ribs were pretty meaty and although not quite fall-off-the-bone, they weren't bad. I did really like the brisket though. They were quite tender and well-smoked. Service here was great and quick. My waiter came back to check on me quite often and refilled my drink in quick order. There seems to be a great amount of variety in the menu but it would take several trips to try them all. It's a pretty good place for local BBQ.

I decided to meet here for my Bible Study study because, I can quickly get here. Risky's provided great service. So, I wanted to tell Yelp about it. Lol. You know. how I do it! The Risky's Host Team was attentive. They were waiting for me to walk through but, I was taking my time, taking pictures. Also, The Hostess let me know where my guest was because, she came when I was in the Ladies Room. Our Waitress was super nice she included her input in our conversation which, I didn't mind. She got our drinks and order right. My friend wanted the Sampler which includes, Mini Cheese Sticks, 2 Crispy Buffalo Chicken Strips, Onion Petals, Fried Pickles and Fried Corn Nuggets. We enjoyed each bite. Everything was crispy and salty. We had the whole place to ourselves. It was nice to look around. I feel like, every time I come here. I see something different. Lol. There was only one family dining in. I am so grateful for Bible Study, great food and good service. Lord, please help our economy. May the Lord bring more business to Risky's and good tips for the wait staff. Amen! I would definitely recommend recommend this place. I've already mentioned this restaurant to my friends Rick and Sarah.

    Dry...lifeless....no moisture....horrible.

Haven't stopped in to Riscky's for awhile but always had memories of some of the best brisket around. Never disappointed...until tonight. This has to be some of the worst brisket ever served. Obviously sitting too long or just overcooked there were very few chewable moments with this meat. Had I not gotten all the way home I would have turned around and returned for a refund. $25 for this 2 meat plate and all I ate was the sausage I ordered with it. Horribly disappointing and I can't believe the cook plated that up and sent it out. No standards at all.

This was our first time coming to Risckys and we were not disappointed. 10/10. I got the three meat plate which consisted of beef ribs, brisket & ham with potato salad, beans & mac and cheese and wow everything was phenomenal. My husband had a ribeye potato's and some beef ribs and we both were equally impressed. The bread pudding was delicious as well. Not only was the food amazing, but so was the service we received. Javier, Charles, Miguel & Aimee were so welcoming showing us all around the place as we are not from town. Super friendly and made us feel like we were right at home. I highly recommend trying this place out whether you are from the Fort Worth area or just visiting like us! I wish we could bring Risckys back home with us!!! Thank you for the phenomenal Texas bbq and service!! Next time we are in Fort Worth we will be back!

We set off this Sunday afternoon in search of a hole in the wall Mexican restaurant but landed here instead. Let me start by saying we had been here once before and it was delicious. Not so much this time. A couple hits. A lot more misses. One the appetizers-cheese curds are good but the Brisket Balls not so much. I ordered the 3 meet combo. Beef ribs, ham and smoked turkey. The last time the beef ribs were huge and seasoned to perfection. This time they were tough and no seasoning. One bite and it was over for me. The ham was good not great. Turkey, juicy and worth a try. Potato salad was the highlight of the meal. My sister loved her pulled pork which is why I'm giving this 2 stars. She indicated a 3.5 stars overall but I just can't. The beef ribs weren't edible. I seriously left them at the rest. I'm hesitant to talk about service. This placed was packed. The first time, late Thursday evening visit is when we had the best Beef ribs of my life. Maybe, just maybe it was an off day.

We haven't been here in a long time but we were in the area and thought let's go. Cons: long wait for 1 drink. Was told bartender was "backed up". Thursday evening at 6:00pm. Place was not busy at all. Took 30 mins to get a margarita. Tables arriving after us started getting food before us. When we finally got the attention of our waitress (hard to do), we were told their system went down and she has to reenter the ticket. Waitress was inattentive and difficult to even understand. I ordered ribeye med well. Picture will show thin, cheap cut and over cooked. Disappointed. I ate it and didn't complain. At that point not worth any further delays. Pros: husband enjoyed the fried catfish. Won't be back.

I mean where else can you find mouthwatering delicious all you can eat beef ribs?! I ate more than 6 juicy beef ribs for less than $20. Each rib was perfectly prepared and the meat was so tender. The waiters ensure you get as many ribs as your heart desires. Also you gotta try, naw you MUST TRY the Riscky's Brisket Bites. It's little fried brisket nuggets. Never knew fried brisket existed before this and now I'm hooked.

Well. I thought i saw 4 stars initially but was 3. Ordered two meat sample, pork ribs and sausage. With three sides. Okra, green beans and mashed potatoes. Waited about 14 minutes and food came out. Looked great. First issue for Fries instead of mashed. Fries were ok. Okra was hot and fresh, green beans good. I also ordered wings but they never came out. Ribs were not so much. Dry, crusty, tough to chew because of the over smoked bark. Flavor nothing to really wow me. Sausage had good flavour but again no wow factor. So the Okra was the hero. Atmosphere when walking in was very good. Rustic. Would I come back? No. You may try it and have better luck.

Finally some that was worth paying for

After a week outside of Texas to visit family in Pennsylvania, I wanted my first restaurant dinner to be Texas BBQ. Despite the numerous recent one star reviews, I opted for this location. I didn't think it could be that bad and it wasn't. The three meat combo was my choice. Brisket, pork ribs and smoked sausage with beans, slaw and potato salad. Portions of meats were ample, enough for two people or meals. Everything was good. The meats were flavorful but the ribs were dry. Sides were also good. Had it not been for the dry ribs, this would be a four star review. Decor is pure Texas. I imagine it gets quite loud when full of people. Service could have been better but was adequate. Tip for Selena. Get into your job and you'll earn better tips. I will return to try other menu items.

Bread pudding with ice cream - not bad, but tasted more just like soggy bread - not what we were hoping for with "famous bread pudding"

"Sabar BBQ: Where the lamb ribs made me want to high five a stranger."…read more TL;DR: Get there early, order the Sichuan Lamb Ribs, let Zain carve you a plate of happiness, and prepare to have your taste buds do a Texas two-step with Pakistani spices. Worth every minute of the wait. This one's climbing my top 50 list faster than a brisket disappears at a family reunion. After one failed mission to Sabar BBQ, where I showed up too late and found an empty pit (and an emptier stomach), I came back like a man on a barbecue pilgrimage. The sun was blazing, the line was growing, and I wasn't about to be left holding nothing but a napkin this time. Pitmaster Zain Shafi runs this blue trailer like a flavor command center. The smell hit me halfway through the line and had me grinning like a kid at the state fair. I made my move when it was my turn, and if you know me, you know lamb is my kryptonite. I ordered the Sichuan Lamb Ribs, then couldn't stop myself from adding brisket and Tandoori Turkey. The sides? Kachumber Salad and Daal Chawaal, because even Uncle Sean needs balance in life. Zain loaded everything up, tossed it all on top of some naan for good measure, and sent me to my table like a champion headed to the winner's circle. The first bite of lamb ribs nearly had me proposing to the pit. Spicy, tender, smoky perfection with a bark that made my heart sing. The brisket was rich and juicy, the turkey came with that tandoori kick that slapped me awake in the best way possible. The sauces just tied the whole thing together like a big barbecue hug. The yogurt mint cilantro sauce was made to cool and lift the brisket and turkey to a whole new level. The red sauce packed a punch and paired with the lamb like it was born for the job. I boxed up some leftovers for my wife, the Side Dish Queen herself, because a man who doesn't bring home naan from Sabar BBQ is a man sleeping on the couch. She confirmed what I already knew: this was next-level barbecue, the kind that earns legends and long lines. Sabar BBQ is only open on weekends, and only fools show up late. I won't make that mistake again. This was stop number 15 on my Texas Monthly Top 50 journey, leaving me with 35 more glorious BBQ pilgrimages ahead before the passport is full and my belt officially waves the white flag. If loving these lamb ribs is wrong, I don't wanna be rib-right.
