He then took the vehicle to another local shop, where they conducted a thorough diagnostic and identified the flywheel as the actual problem. They replaced both the flywheel and the previously installed starter from Petersen at a much more reasonable cost. I do not typically write negative reviews, but in this case, my husband was overcharged, and the initial request for a comprehensive inspection was not properly fulfilled, resulting in an inaccurate diagnosis.

Whether this is the truth or not, I have no way to confirm what others have said. That's why I came here. They seem a straightforward business and that's quite a bit better: one price, no funny business. You enter from the alley behind Main Street. Two of us arrived at the same time and they were quick to take care of both of us. My car is a 2012 I bought as a demonstrator in early 2013. There shouldn't be much of a problem. Even though it's a diesel-powered car, the rules have changed and the state requires smog testing. In any case, after they finished with the other person's truck, they put my car in the bay and checked it thoroughly. They found no problem, and created the form, as well as transmitting the results to the state. They were friendly and efficient.

They always have a discount online but apply it when you are there even without the coupon. My bad for not asking beforehand what the price was. This time I was charged over $30 more than their regular price online (2 1/2 time the discount price). When I questioned him on the big increase, he said everything has gone up. I agree it has, but when I got home looked it up it still showed the regular price was $59.75, not $90. I will not be back. That's four cars not going there anymore. Disappointing.

Steve called me by 2 told me it was the starter and quoted me a price roughly $200 less than I thought it would be. He said they could get to it first thing in the morning. No problem. By the time I got off work at 5 (same day) Bradley called to say I could pick it up. Steve waited for me after closing and it cost $80 less than the estimate. However, the interaction itself made the experience more frustrating than it needed to be. The gentleman we dealt with was short and somewhat flippant when explaining why the smog could not be completed due to an issue with the catalytic converter. A bit more time and willingness to explain the issue clearly would have gone a long way, rather than assuming the customer should already understand technical details. Because the issue was related to emissions, we asked about the type of repair work that might be needed to address the problem and potentially allow the vehicle to pass smog. We were prepared to move forward, but the response felt dismissive, as though our questions or business were not of interest. The price for the smog itself was reasonable, but the lack of clear communication and the overall tone left us with the impression that we were an inconvenience rather than customers looking for help. Ultimately, that confirmed we won't be back.
