3 reasons why i wouldn't come here again 1 . No free retests ... never seen a shop not offer at-least discounted or free retests ( my first mistake ) 2 . Just like majority of consumers who drive vehicles , i have no access to a scanner to check if my " smog monitors " are set ... could have advised me and i woulda gone to drive and set monitors .. then came back for letting me know 3. Fails my vehicle under the " tampered " label because a connector didnt have a "module connected to it related to smog " ... when i asked if he knew what goes there he said " idk but its an emmission module .. i worked on a truck similar that had one " ... okk?? I called a dealership to look up what goes there to locate one and my truck does not come with anything there ... so being labeled tampered for something he wasnt fully sure about as a smog tech ... didnt sit right Overall.. he did my first vehicle there not too long ago and the process was fast and smooth Hence my score Thank you read more

Shekib is honest and more than fair. I had a check engine light that kept coming on. I did what this old guy could do to try to solve the problem. I replaced the gas cap and the purge valve myself. The engine light came on again. Went to Sky Auto repair. I told him my problem and what repairs i did to the truck. Shakib told me where an O ring was located and that it probably needed replaced. He said it was an easy fix and I could save myself the cost if I did it myself. I didn't feel like doing the job because I am up in age and didn't feel like crawling under the vehicle to replace the O ring. Plus it was time for my smog test. So I decided to let him do the job. We agreed upon a price. The price was more than fair. He did a test and found the problem. It was just like he said, it was the O ring. After he replaced it the truck passed the smog test. The engine light is now off and I am a happy guy. Like I said, Shekib is honest and fair. He didn't try to sell me on him doing what I probably could have done myself. Seeking to have a smog check. The gentleman took the car into the shop and began his inspection. He charged me full price although he later explained that he could not accomplish the work because the battery had recently been disconnected. I'd replaced it two days earlier. AFTER he received full payment, he explained the with the battery being disconnected, my computer had dumped all of its historical data. He explained that I would need to run the car for a week or so then come back and pay full price for another inspection. When he saw that the computer history was blank, he should have simply stopped and advised me to come back in a week. In my mind, his shenanigans are irresponsible. read more

Never had a issue getting my vehicle smogged in 20yrs. I ordered it from the dealer the way it currently is. Never had someone create an issue about the K & N air intake system but I guess today was the day. So he recommended not to do the smog because he couldn't find the part number. Keep in mind it's been 20 yrs since the dealership modified it by installing the system so the part number is faded and I couldn't make the numbers out. Literally went back and forth with this guy and eventually I just left without my vehicle being smogged. He had the nerve to say I must know the people at the previous smog shop because I told him I've never had an issue anywhere else. Not pleased at all. read more

This guy is unethical. He noticed a bad vacuum hose and a burned out bulb on my dash before starting. He went through the motions and then failed me. When I questioned him about this he became agitated and stated the $51 I just spent wasn't for nothing, it was for his time. Stay clear of this place!!! He is now replying with a list of reasons why he is not unethical. Bottom line is he performed a visual and could've let me know in 2 minutes that he would need to fail this vehicle. I've had other shops do this. He chose to look at my vehicle for 10mins. and then fail it for visual. "His time" works out to $300 an hour. That's not a bad racket! Stay clear of this place trust me! I've owned this vehicle since 2006 and yes it failed the first time for an exhaust leak and the second time due to my fault. Both were remedied with no issue. Your attitude was less than stellar. Sky Auto saved the day two weekends and two vehicles in a row. Shekib completed my truck's smog when an unplanned trip left me mere days for the test. When the driver's side window dropped down into my SUV's door at 11am on a Sunday, he ordered and replaced the mechanism in less than two hours; if he couldn't get the part, he offered me a ride home and to store my (then windowless) vehicle in his shop. DO NOT GO HERE. My daughter took her car here after it failed a smog at another shop for an inspect and advise. There was no check engine light, and the car had high hydrocarbon. First off, he said in the inspection that the spark plugs were good, they weren't. I pulled them and all 4 were wore out. He also missed the cracked exhaust manifold. He tried to say the car overheated at idle is why it possibly failed and tried to blame a possible head gasket. Even though the car uses no coolant, there is no water in the oil, no carbon on the radiator cap or in the antifreeze and no "bubbling" from the radiator. The car temp reads constant from an hour long idle to hard driving 90 down the freeway. He claimed the Catalytic converter was getting too hot (chances are caused by the air sucked in from the cracked exhaust manifold, one of the things a visual inspection should have picked up on) but the muffler shop we use said the converter was a normal color and not blue like an over heated catalytic converter changes to. So bottom line, he obviously didn't check the plugs or else he wouldn't have said they were fine and he would have spotted the cracked exhaust manifold on inspection. Also, the rotor and cap were worn out, another test that should have been done for a smog related inspection, but somehow was "missed" in this $85 inspection. Sure, he can claim "poor maintenance", but these are the simple things a smog related inspection should have picked up on. In my opinion, the "inspection" was sloppy, unprofessional, not thorough, or not even done. You take a huge risk visiting this shop. Consumer beware. In response to comment: She redid the smog after replacing the plugs and wires YOU suggested to have replaced. The plugs which we still have, were soooo bad that they were way over .05 gaped, not .037 also with very little electrode left on all 4! The rotor was scarred and cap borderline. The wires were good, but we replaced them anyway as per your suggestion. Did you check the resistance on the wires? Seems to me that's another diagnostic you missed. Pulling 1 plug does NOT give a full picture of how all 4 cylinders are running! Now, to be fair, I replaced the plugs for her 3 years ago, she was unaware they needed to be changed more frequently than that, she's now been educated. Not only that but he never said he checked the cap and rotor at all, just that they should "be replaced"(IE-A "guess?", maybe?) Regardless, we repaired everything this guy said to do other than the temp sensor since it is working normally and it STILL failed the smog. Why would anyone want to bring their car to this guy to diagnose a smog issue if, in my opinion, you get nothing for your money?!? We then took it to a muffler shop who found the exhaust manifold cracked. This was something that should have been found during his "inspection." My daughter took her car in for diagnostics, she got NONE. Nothing he suggested was at issue with the car other than the spark plugs, everything else was "guessing." She didn't pay for guesses, she paid for diagnostics. I stand by my original review. read more

My car didn't start despite on working battery. Powerful jumpstarter didn't help. Then I brought my van to this shop. The master spent half a day with my van and properly diagnosed the problem. The guy shekib sounded friendly on the phone , told me come on in he tried everything to help my car pass smog , letting the engine run prior to testing definitely a fare guy well it failed so he gave me options never once tried to hussle me with fees or pricing by the time I left he fixed the problem the truck passed smog and I paid way under what I imagined because of his honesty and intergerty I will be coming back to this shop in the future for any other smog and would definitely recommend it to anyone read more

Terrible service!!! My wife took her car in to get smogged not realizing that the check engine light would affect the smog test. They charged her $60 and said sorry it failed. If the check engine light is on the car will never pass smog and they know this but ran the test and charged her anyway. I called and the guy said I don't care I'll take anyone's money that has the check engine light on, it's not my job to tell them. This guy is a class A rip-off, took my moms 85 caddy to him I bet he saw a disabled smuck and took advantage of the situation. He said it failed the timing was off and needed a catalytic converter. I attempted to give this shop a try as when I passed he was open with no line , no wait, and I figured ready to go. Normally I take all my other cars to another shop here in town, And Let me say this shop is a RIP OFF!, DO NOT GO HERE . This is the Reason why he had empty Parking lot. Horrible service, one of those shops that do Not take that extra step of service to be thorough and detailed. Yes, my car didn't pass smog due to an obdii read out(the car's computer) everything else passed spec, yet the computers just haven't calibrated, understandable right. Come to find out all it takes is a drive around for the computers on my car to recalibrate( as I find out after) since my car hasn't been started in a while and was sitting. After the inspection I asked if I could come back if I fix the problem and what the charge would be, dude said another full price. WTF!! So $100+ for a smog!! No way!! In all my experiences with other shops it has always been a lower rate then the first inspection if the issue was fixed same day, sometimes no charge and just the certificate rate. After my car was diagnosed here at Sky Auto Repair There was no assistance on helping with my issue, no thorough details on what to do and how to fix, he gave a very basic break down of what was on the paper and that was it(literally just read the paper)So I called my technician who works on my car for further details and like I said it was as simple as a drive around for the computers to recalibrate. After my little drive I put a obdii reader to it and everything was normal, took it to another shop here in town and job was complete. Cars are expensive enough, don't waste your money here. I've been working on my project truck for a year now and after a trip to the referee to tell me what exactly it needed parts wise I brought it too Skekib and it failed because of high nox. Ok fair enough, I continued to work on it and now it runs beautifully and Shekib failed it because of the timing and not knowing how to use a timing light. Funny because the timing had passed previously and never been touched. I observed him check the timing the first time and he did it correctly but this last time he was advancing the light 14 degrees and trying to advance the distributor an additional 14 degrees for a total of 28 degrees and wondered why it wouldn't run and the claimed I had the distributor a tooth off. That's not how it works!! So I have an appointment with the referee and will be sharing this experience with him. On top off all this while waiting to be smog get he took 2 other walk ins while I was waiting. WTH! Maybe BAR! I feel my intelligence has been insulted. read more

I took my car in (not knowing the engine light would AUTOMATICALLY fail a test) and he didn't even care to ask first, he collected my money real quick and told me it failed and said "here's a website go here" and that's it. He is SO unprofessional and only there to take your money. I came here to get a smog on my SUV crook owner told me I have to pay $75 because my car is bigger than normal cars I told him no I'm paying 50 then he said no give me $25 more because your car is big size I told him no then he told me no you have to pay I told him no I'm not paying anything then he told me give me $50 cash but he will not give me certificate.
