My car has 111k miles when i brought it in and then just 8k miles later for the head gasket to fail. I took it back to them after they said it was probably my fuel injectors. Got the fuel injectors replaced at Honda under warranty. Just for them to tell me I need a new engine and the injectors were never replaced when they were. They don't keep their word, they will make up a story to cover their asses instead of being transparent. The cherry on top they will make you sign a quote for a "new engine" where it says nothing about a new engine and everything about the story they made up. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I reached out to this shop for an emergency alignment job. I had previously taken my car into a…read morenational, well-known franchise for regular maintenance. They informed me an alignment couldn't be completed by their shop. Unfortunately, after getting it back, my car was nearly impossible to steer, I would get thrown into other lanes and it felt like my car was going to slide right off the tires. It was dangerous to drive. Enter Manteca Tire & Wheel Outlet, after explaining what I needed I was told I could bring it in. They were open about not being able to do the job as well (I've owned the car for 10 years now, with several shops having difficulties aligning it--and no shop ever being able to get it to spec., even when the car was stock. It's a clear manufacturer defect.) And while it did take some time to complete, they were rather busy at the time, and still found time to accommodate me for this emergency. But they were very communicative during the entire process. They were even super apologetic they couldn't align it to spec., which I fully expected. Price was fairly good, much better than the previous shop, and they even gave me a break because it couldn't fully be aligned correctly. The car drives so much better now. Completely thankful to Manteca Tire & Wheel Outlet for getting this done and their honesty throughout the process!

Big shout out to the owner, Jack!…read more In spite of it being a very hot day & a stubborn bulb, Jack took the extra time to change a low-beam headlight for a disabled senior. The asst. manager at Auto Zone on Main St. advised we'd purchased the wrong bulb, got us the right one & tried to change it out. It wouldn't come out, so she referred us to Jack's Transmission. Jack too had to work at figuring out how to get this thing out, but he did get it changed & only charged a nominal price for it. All this after the local Midas had both quoted an overcharged amount for the bulb (almost double) AND $360 in labor! An obvious & obscene way to try to take advantage of a disabled senior! All told, between the local AutoZone & Jacks Transmission, they saved this senior with health concerns, over $400!!! Thank you, Jack! It's nice to have located an honorable mechanic, with fair pricing!

I wanted to take a moment and commend the folks at Precision Automotive in Manteca. I have had a business relationship with them for a few years when it comes to certain maintenance items that are needed for my two vehicles. I am the type of guy who enjoys doing my own work and getting the satisfaction of doing it myself and doing it correctly, however an old worn out back doesn't allow me to get too involved anymore, so when it comes to something complicated, my work goes to them because I trust them number one, and second of all, they are extremely nice people who really care about their customer's needs and they take the time to really explain why something would have to be replaced and what and why the costs that are involved. I have an oldie but a very reliable Nissan Frontier that is pushing 16 years old, but it only has 82k on the engine and it runs just as well as the day I bought it, except for a few minor aches and pains. Well, I ran into a bizarre set of circumstances where the main belt that runs the alternator and other accessories was constantly squealing, but only first thing in the morning when I would start it. Over the period of a couple months (Chris.... their tech) worked on this and found that there were the strangest things that you could ever imagine, especially a very solid piece of metal that was a bracket that held one of the pulleys in place. Somehow or another over the years, the forces that were put on it had actually bent it. This isn't a small little piece.........this is a very strong part. Well Chris fixed that, and fixed other minor things, but still that same issue continued on.....he was so persistent that he said "Bill let me try again" and without charge and hours of labor, he didn't charge me an extra dime except for the parts that needed to be replaced. I can't tell you how much I respect not only him, but the entire shop. I have had some major issues with my cars and they have yet to let me down!! And I am happy to say that the squeal is finally fixed!! I didn't get a chance to find out what he finally did to make it stop, but I am happy as a clam!! I don't waste my time writing reviews unless they are warranted, whether they may be negative or positive. But in this case, I can't say enough how thankful I am to these folks. They make the dealerships look really bad, because they are such master mechanics. I am so happy my friend had told me about them several years ago, because it's so hard to find a really good shop. But they are the best of the best, and I highly encourage you folks to take your vehicles there, especially if it is something that really requires attention to detail and a complex problem. My little truck will still keep plugging along as long as it is worth fixing, but it's a testament to the quality work and the above and beyond dedication this staff takes a problem head on. Thank you Chris, Ted, Mike, Rocky, Fabio and the rest of the P.A. team. For any of you who might think that I might be writing this to get a few freebies or kick backs, or drum up business for them, whatever, that is the farthest thing from my mind. Their reputation in the community far outweighs my little review. In closing, I can't encourage you enough to take your car issues to them. Dealerships are rip offs, plus they are paid by the hour to get as many cars out as possible, which leads to mistakes. There is one dealership in Manteca that I won't mention by name, but I WOULD NEVER take my car to them based on all the problems my friend's have had with them in the past. I convinced them to take their business to P.A. a long time ago. When a dealership puts on lug nuts so tight that you have to break the studs off to get the wheel off, shows you that they aren't concerned about quality, which is a complete 180 when it comes to what P.A. believes in. Quality over quantity is obviously witnessed when a guy like me watches over what a mechanic has done. My experience for those of you who might want to know what I know about the Automotive field. Although I never became a licensed mechanic, I was recruited by the Navy to be an Aircraft Electricians mate, and my Auto Shop teacher, way back when, had encouraged me to go to an automotive institute and become a technician. However, like I said in the beginning of this little novel, I have an extremely bad back, and it was never in the cards for me to pursue those avenues, but it gave me enough knowledge to know what I'm talking about and to know who is good at what they do and who is bad at what they do. 10-13-17- Clay O,senior citizen; My first- time experience with Precision Automotive,Manteca; I gave Precision Automotive a call about obtaining service on my 2001 SUV related to a spark plug issue. The friendly voice who answered the phone had Ted Atkins take the call. Low and behold Ted explained to me that problem is a common one with that suv and for me to bring it in . He advised that the job would probably be less than 3 hrs labor and if I came in that morning he could have it done by the PM. I only have 1 car and I said I would need a ride home. No Problem. The friendly office mgr, Rocky, gave me a ride home. Well, later that afternoon Ted called me and said the job is done and I was happy about the cost and the quickness in getting the work done that day. The next morning Rocky called me on the phone and said I will pick you -up soon, so that you can get your SUV, and the next thing I knew, there was Rocky out in front. The suv now runs beautiful and I am a happy camper.. Great job and service. Their shop is clean and well organized and the staff who attended to me were most friendly and helpful I am impressed. About 5 weeks ago or so, my F-150 ejected the #6 spark plug. 4.6ltr engine. I did my research and decided I wanted a TimeSert insert to complete the stripped sparkplug hole thread repairs. The process is a 4 step job, requiring strength I don't have right now and a $400 tool kit. I didn't think most cheap shops would use it since HeliCoil parts are available. When I called, Chris answered, and said he could fix my problem. I asked what device he used, and he said they use TimeSert. That, plus reviews, was good enough for me. I brought the spitting and coughing truck in, along with a new COP and a set of plugs. (They said they could hear me coming up the street.) For under $400 he repaired the stripped plug threads and installed the new set of plugs. The truck has been running fine since. I found Chris to be a top-notch guy. Even on a CRAZY work day, he was engaging, on-the-spot and pleasant to do business with. Price was good. Promises were kept. SHOP IS CLEAN.... for those of you that care about such things and know WHY it is important. I will go back for any other work I need. read more

I can't say enough great things about this shop, my husband has a 1990 corvette and was heartbroken that he couldn't find a shop to fix or replace motor until Ia gentleman reccomended Precision. He spoke to the owner and car was towed there, within 5 days the vette was up and running and now purrs. They replaced cooling system and fuel injection system. Didn't need motor overhaul as told by other shops. They backed up their work with warranty plus. My husband was ready to give up on corvette and send to boneyard now he's ready to restore completely. Thank you so much to the entire shop happy husband makes for happy wife!!! The vette just purrs when I drove it, he might not get to drive it, I'll be driving it all the time!!!! I went to Precision Automotive after asking around and was told they were the best in town. They repaired my PT as per estimated, but while doing the work, they found other major problems and repaired these with out adding any more labor or time. I also like the way they save all the used parts to show you what was wrong and WHY it needed to be repaired. Instead of just saying this and that as some services do. There prices are WAY below dealer cost for the same work, like almost 1000$ less. The staff is very friendly and also very knowledgeable. They listened to what I had to say and what i wanted to be done, with out the normal in one ear out the other as some places do. I will continue to go back. read more

I'm always apprehensive about submitting my car for repair to someone I don't know. I can relax now. This is my go to shop. These folks are the picture of integrity. My car wouldn't pass SMOG at another shop, .... they didn't do repairs, so I checked around and found out these folks are good. They don't do smog certificates, but they know how to fix 'em. They dealt with my issues same day. I feared the cost, this was the big trust factor. The charges were as music to my ears. Very reasonable. My "Cheers" to the fine group that makes this shop tick. Ive been a customer at Precision Automotive for years, and have nothing but good things to say. Ive taken my vehicle in on countless occasions for everything from an overheating engine to a steering wobble issue to simple service calls. Chris and his crew are great! Brought my 10' Sante Fe in after the Modesto Hyundai dealership proceeded to quote me close to $3500 for a windshield wiper pump issue and a front turn signal "electrical" issue. Ted at the front desk was not only extremely professional but polite. Never have I dealt with a service manager who wasn't speaking in a condescending tone. Dishonest owner and staff. Kept having issue after issue on a car that Chris sold me and other vehicles I took to get fixed. The owner was sued and convicted of fraud by the Bureau of Automotive Repair. The lawsuit is on public record for viewing online. Take your car elsewhere unless you want to keep having issues or get ripped off. P.S. The owner is about to retire so he's selling the business. read more
