I gave them a call in the morning to see if they had a spot around noon, and when I got there at 12:15 on my lunch break, they got me taken care of fast. my 10-year-old vehicle now requires a smog. I can come here each time. In additional , I needed breaks and they were able to determine that I actually only needed one front break. This was great and definitely cheaper than I expected most times women ate taken for advantage when it comes to cars and especially when it comes down to repairing your car. After my IID installation I just spent 3 hours at the DMV for them to tell me that Lathrop Smog didn't give me the correct documents I needed. I even called before my appointment to ask if there was anything I needed to take to the DMV to get my license current, he opened the box and said yea it's right here. You think they would make sure it was with the invoice or somewhere in the car at least when it was picked up. Make sure to ask specifically about any papers you need and make sure they give them to you because I just wasted 3 hours cuz these guys aren't on top of their shit read more

Lathrop Smog is tucked in next door to Dutch Brothers coffee. Though they have a bunch of cars parked all over, they get you in and out quickly for a smog test. Nick was the technician who worked on my car, he did everything out in the open, was polite and his aim was to get you in and out. Pricing was within what I expected and I've gone to other shops in the area that were more expensive. Lathrop Smog is a good overall provider. read more

Went for a smog a week ago, and I called to see if they needed appointments, and they said no because they normally get you out in 15 mins. He did say he was out for a test drive and would be back in about 35 mins. I got they aboit 45 minutes later, and he was still on the test drive. Waited just a little bit, and once he came back, I was out in less than 15 minutes. Great service, great person to deal with. Highly recommend using this local shop. read more

This place treated us right I've been trying to find a decent oil change place since all others around take forever and the wait time is always crazy. I stopped by on a Saturday and he got me in and out in no time. This was our second visit. Our first visit he tried over and over to test our car that no one could fix but told us it was an electrical problem. We ended up taking to a dealership that tried to tell us different and sure enough $2500 later we drove away from the dealership and the check engine light popped on and the car stalled. We ended up trading that one in but should of taken LS advice. read more

Heard about this place through a Facebook group in Lathrop. A reviewer on that group happened to mention that they went to school with the owner and that he was a good guy, that speaks VOLUMES because typically people don't have many good things to say about HS. Nonetheless, Nick was a stand-up guy. His service was fast, courteous, and overall very reasonably priced. I would definitely come to him and refer my friends and family. He also mentioned that in the near future they will be offering DMV services at this location similar to their Ripon location. I wouldn't mind paying a couple extra dollars so that I don't have to go to DMV, or even go to a AAA office which is not in Lathrop (either Manteca or Tracy). Wish you the best and much success Nick. In addition to the Smog he did my breaks, didn't try to up sell me on replacing rotors like a lot of shops do. Instead he was honest about what needed to be replaced now and what could wait. I arrived with one person ahead of me at about 905 am. They were super fast and payment was easy. Priced right and the owners were super nice. I sat in the waiting room for about 5 minutes before I was called back out to pay. Even if there were 5 cars ahead of you, you'd still probably be out of here in about an hour or less. They had coffee, water, Capri Suns in the waiting room. It had a TV and wifi available. I didn't have time to try anything though. Lol! What an extremely uncomfortable experience. People if you are HISPANIC/MEXICAN/LATINO DO NOT COME HERE. I was trying to get the staffs attention to ask about a smog check and I was acknowledged till 30-40 minutes after the fact. They did NOTHING (not even check) and charged me 60$. I needed my truck to get smog and thought I'll try this place to support our local communities businesses, I was able to get in and out with in 45 mins, this place just open up so hopefully it will iron out the process. At least while you wait you can go around the corner and get some good ol burrito at the taco truck around the corner. I'm glad I finally decided to go to Lathrop Smog for service! I've passed it by so many times while on my way to another place and wondered how the service is. I went there today for a smog check. Michelle came right on out before I even shut my truck off! Both she and Dan explained the details regarding the smog process for my truck. I was even educated by Michelle regarding CA smog laws--that was very much appreciated. Dan answered some questions regarding other parts of my truck which was also very much appreciated. Both Dan and Michelle made me feel like I was very welcomed there, like friends just hanging out at the shop. There was no horse crap in what they were saying, and they stayed true to the lost virtue of just being honest with the customer. Both are very knowledgeable. I needed two vehicles smogged this month and decided to try a local Lathrop business instead of where I had gone in the past. The first car had a permanent code which required a trip to the dealer before getting a retest with a passing vehicle, but these guys took care of me and their total cost was very reasonable. Car 2 required a new sensor which I took care of, then took the car here for the test. I was back home 20 minutes later with a passing vehicle.
