They seem a straightforward business and that's quite a bit better: one price, no funny business. You enter from the alley behind Main Street. Two of us arrived at the same time and they were quick to take care of both of us. My car is a 2012 I bought as a demonstrator in early 2013. There shouldn't be much of a problem. Even though it's a diesel-powered car, the rules have changed and the state requires smog testing. In any case, after they finished with the other person's truck, they put my car in the bay and checked it thoroughly. They found no problem, and created the form, as well as transmitting the results to the state. They were friendly and efficient.

They fount that the driveshaft carrier bearing was bad. Also all brake rotors are bad. BS. Took it to a legit shop. One rotor is bad. Also monkeys used spray foam to seal the roof vent. It is not waterpproof and will need to be taken apart and have the spray foam removed and replaced with a proper sealant. That was $200 down the drain. They told me for all the repairs that my unit needed would be around $4000. And they couldn't even handle a simple roof vent replacement? At one time this shop had a great reputation. The new owners seem to have no clue about what they're doing. I would avoid them and will never go back to their shop.

For some reason they could not remove the code after they did the oil change. And when I drove it home, I saw that they had overfilled the oil. The Service fee includes an inspection. They told me that I needed new front tires. So I got a quote from them and from another company. Monkeys said they could not do it the next morning. It would have to be in the evening. The other company said that they could do it right away in the morning. So I took it to Ripon to have my tires replaced. I asked them to also check the rear tires. Only the front tires needed replacing and upon checking the rear tires, he found an eroded battery cable. The RV would've blown up if I had driven it anymore and it would've caused a fire. Monkeys completely neglected to inspect the vehicle. I would not recommend this company to anyone, be very careful because they are doing a very shoddy job. The Ripon company also is only charging $200 for the service B. So not only did I get ripped off. They did a terrible job. They could not remove the code. They overfilled the oil. They did not do a thorough inspection. This company needs to be shut down. I never dealt with the previous owners, but I feel that they probably did a great job but the new owner is Jay and he's never there. And they do not share the owners information so if we have a complaint, we cannot talk to the owner. This one woman is working there. It's like a one woman show. She doesn't know what she's doing. She's just a receptionist, but she acts like she owns the place. If I was the owner, I would fire her in a second.

I reached out to this shop for an emergency alignment job. I had previously taken my car into a…read morenational, well-known franchise for regular maintenance. They informed me an alignment couldn't be completed by their shop. Unfortunately, after getting it back, my car was nearly impossible to steer, I would get thrown into other lanes and it felt like my car was going to slide right off the tires. It was dangerous to drive. Enter Manteca Tire & Wheel Outlet, after explaining what I needed I was told I could bring it in. They were open about not being able to do the job as well (I've owned the car for 10 years now, with several shops having difficulties aligning it--and no shop ever being able to get it to spec., even when the car was stock. It's a clear manufacturer defect.) And while it did take some time to complete, they were rather busy at the time, and still found time to accommodate me for this emergency. But they were very communicative during the entire process. They were even super apologetic they couldn't align it to spec., which I fully expected. Price was fairly good, much better than the previous shop, and they even gave me a break because it couldn't fully be aligned correctly. The car drives so much better now. Completely thankful to Manteca Tire & Wheel Outlet for getting this done and their honesty throughout the process!

I am willing to pay someone (including him) to fix it, but opted not to go with him because he was speaking unkindly and accusing the other mechanic of being wrong. I am disappointed in the service and follow up. I would suggest going to a local shop instead of someone who travels.

Giovanni came towards the end of the day, and quickly discovered that the capacitor had gone bad. He grabbed a new one from his truck and quickly installed it. Problem fixed! Our A/C unit is 20 years old and we were sure that we were gonna have to replace it to the tune of $10k, but Giovanni got it running again with a simple and relatively inexpensive fix. Hopefully the unit will finish out the summer here in CA, and we can replace it off-season, when demand and rates are lower. I would give a five-star rating, as Giovanni was on time, knowledgeable, friendly and courteous, and was prepared to repair the unit immediately (had the part on hand) but, he did NOT give us a breakdown of the cost of the part + labor PRIOR to fixing the unit. He just got the part and installed it, and then told us how much we needed to pay him. It is true that we desperately wanted it fixed, and probably would have agreed to any quote he gave, but it would have been more professional of him to have us approve the work to be done first. The smog check took less than 15 minutes and the cost was below what I thought it would be. Nice and easy morning. SCENE: Smog Star Express is located at the end of Mars Court in the city of Tracy. They have plenty of signs directing you to their location around the back side of the last building. RECOMMENDATION(S): I'll be returning when my other vehicles are in need of smog checks in the future.
