I was looking for a place to get an oil change for my 2011 Camry, and Lathrop Smog stood out. I gave them a call in the morning to see if they had a spot around noon, and when I got there at 12:15 on my lunch break, they got me taken care of fast. Nick and his team were super friendly and professional. A few people came in after me and everyone was greeted right away. I was honestly impressed with how smoothly everything ran, especially with just one service bay. Just be sure to call ahead to check availability. Great service and solid value. read more

my 10-year-old vehicle now requires a smog. I can come here each time. In additional , I needed breaks and they were able to determine that I actually only needed one front break. This was great and definitely cheaper than I expected most times women ate taken for advantage when it comes to cars and especially when it comes down to repairing your car. I do believe they treated me with respect and didn't overcharge me as hard for women to go for car repairs because of fear of being taking advantage of my situation. Thanks read more

Website says that this business is opened from 9am to 1pm. We went to go get a smog check, and waited an hour and no one ever showed up. Bad business. read more

Can't thank these guys enough for helping me fix my car to pass smog. Very friendly so helpful. Honest and up front and really work with you. Definitely recommend if I could give more than 5 stars I would! read more

Smog service. Gives you the upfront price that includes the certificate. It only took 15 minutes.

Nick always makes time to squeeze in at last minute. The smog price is the going rate.

Nick is top notch ! He cares about his clients is what makes everyone go back ! Not just care but beats everyone prices !. I know If he can beat the price he will. He gonna need an upgrade or bigger place cause the rumor everyone puts out about Nick he works with you and that's what customers like . read more

Lathrop Smog is tucked in next door to Dutch Brothers coffee. Though they have a bunch of cars parked all over, they get you in and out quickly for a smog test. Nick was the technician who worked on my car, he did everything out in the open, was polite and his aim was to get you in and out. Pricing was within what I expected and I've gone to other shops in the area that were more expensive. Lathrop Smog is a good overall provider. read more

After my IID installation I just spent 3 hours at the DMV for them to tell me that Lathrop Smog didn't give me the correct documents I needed. I even called before my appointment to ask if there was anything I needed to take to the DMV to get my license current, he opened the box and said yea it's right here. You think they would make sure it was with the invoice or somewhere in the car at least when it was picked up. Make sure to ask specifically about any papers you need and make sure they give them to you because I just wasted 3 hours cuz these guys aren't on top of their shit read more

Definitely recommend and definitely will be back to smog my other vehicles when I need to. Honest, good business read more

Lathrop Smog - Lathrop Smog - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Lathrop, California

Definitely would recommend! The guys over there took care of me with minimal wait time and got my car smogged and ready to go!

I have brought a variety of vehicles ranging from a 25-year-old beater to practically brand new vehicles and regardless of the test results I have always been confident in Nick's ability to properly perform a thorough and procedurally accurate test, diagnose any related issues, and convey back to me my options or suggestions as to the cars future, beit preventive maintenance, repair, or general upkeep. I'm an ASE Certified mechanic and very knowledgeable and experienced in the industry, and knowing what i know about all the different Corner cutting and Shady dealings with in the automotive world, I'm very skeptical and wary of who I allowed to even touch much less service my vehicle. So I not only bring every vehicle I've ever owned to Nick I have referred countless others to his business and I have never had a single individual complain or have a bad experience. Outside of the automotive related interaction during the service Nick and his son and crew are easy to talk to, knowledgeable and willing and eager to give you the best description of your evaluation and suggestions for the best performance you can expect for your vehicle in the future. And of course as icing on the cake, the prices are fair, competitive, and once you've experience the full service you will realize that because of their efficiency and the value of your time dollar for dollar it is arguably the best bang for your buck in terms of value, service, customer relations, and the efficiency and quickness with which your vehicle and you are in and out of what we can all agree to be and annoying and inconvenient yearly obligation to our vehicle. They make it hassle free, pain free, and doubt free, which is one of the best values here because nothing trump's peace of Mind in regards to the safety and longevity of your personal vehicle. I highly recommend. read more

Honest, knowledgeable, fair prices. I've used this business for all my smog needs for the last five years and they are great.

Went for a smog a week ago, and I called to see if they needed appointments, and they said no because they normally get you out in 15 mins. He did say he was out for a test drive and would be back in about 35 mins. I got they aboit 45 minutes later, and he was still on the test drive. Waited just a little bit, and once he came back, I was out in less than 15 minutes. Great service, great person to deal with. Highly recommend using this local shop. read more

Decided to give this spot a second chance even though there customer service isn't the best so I set an appointment for 10 am today I could tell they are busy but what's the point of making an appointment if it's not going to be acknowledged smh went down the street to freedom smog they were great read more

Took me right in no appointment needed. They were busy (which is great for them) but they got me out in 1/2 hour. It cost about $70 and it was done. Thank you Lathrop Smog. read more

This place treated us right I've been trying to find a decent oil change place since all others around take forever and the wait time is always crazy. I stopped by on a Saturday and he got me in and out in no time. This was our second visit. Our first visit he tried over and over to test our car that no one could fix but told us it was an electrical problem. We ended up taking to a dealership that tried to tell us different and sure enough $2500 later we drove away from the dealership and the check engine light popped on and the car stalled. We ended up trading that one in but should of taken LS advice. read more

Pretty much the only mechanic and smog shop here in lathrop. Owner is decent and straight forward. Once i had issue with my differential making noise and he recommended shops in manteca that will fix the problem and they did. Good pricing on smog esp with online discount. read more

They can't answer the phone after leaving your car to be worked on . They capt my car for day needed some wire power worked on They can not seem to give it the time it needs four days later still waiting read more

Heard about this place through a Facebook group in Lathrop. A reviewer on that group happened to mention that they went to school with the owner and that he was a good guy, that speaks VOLUMES because typically people don't have many good things to say about HS. Nonetheless, Nick was a stand-up guy. His service was fast, courteous, and overall very reasonably priced. I would definitely come to him and refer my friends and family. He also mentioned that in the near future they will be offering DMV services at this location similar to their Ripon location. I wouldn't mind paying a couple extra dollars so that I don't have to go to DMV, or even go to a AAA office which is not in Lathrop (either Manteca or Tracy). Wish you the best and much success Nick. Thanks for the fast and easy smog!! read more

I came in for a Smog and found they do other services also. Nick was great from moment one. They were busy but he greeted me right away and got to me as quickly as possible. In addition to the Smog he did my breaks, didn't try to up sell me on replacing rotors like a lot of shops do. Instead he was honest about what needed to be replaced now and what could wait. I am new to the area, so very glad to have found a shop that is honest, courteous and all with reasonable prices. read more

Great place to get your car smogged and they also do oil changes! Reasonable prices and these people are honest.

I arrived with one person ahead of me at about 905 am. They were super fast and payment was easy. Priced right and the owners were super nice. I sat in the waiting room for about 5 minutes before I was called back out to pay. Even if there were 5 cars ahead of you, you'd still probably be out of here in about an hour or less. They had coffee, water, Capri Suns in the waiting room. It had a TV and wifi available. I didn't have time to try anything though. Lol! Not a complaint but if you use a credit card, there's a 4 percent surcharge. Just a heads up. You might want to bring cash. I'm a customer as long as they're here. Thanks!!! read more

I'm fairly new to the area. As such, I was searching around for smog services near me. Came across Lathrop Smog and I'm glad I did! I needed my truck to get smog and thought I'll try this place to support our local communities businesses, I was able to get in and out with in 45 mins, this place just open up so hopefully it will iron out the process. At least while you wait you can go around the corner and get some good ol burrito at the taco truck around the corner. UPDATE as of 5/22/19 I thought I try this place again after the 1st experience wasn't too good, so I ended up calling a young lady pick up and ask how much and what time they closed I ended up rushing over there and took my ram diesel truck over there I was in and out in 20 mins I change my 3 stars to a 5 stars they took care of me. Lathrop Smog - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Lathrop, California

What an extremely uncomfortable experience. People if you are HISPANIC/MEXICAN/LATINO DO NOT COME HERE. I was trying to get the staffs attention to ask about a smog check and I was acknowledged till 30-40 minutes after the fact. They did NOTHING (not even check) and charged me 60$. I get it the location is very ghetto and so that tells A LOT about the staff they have but please do better and DO YOUR JOB so you all can avoid unhappy customers. read more

Great discount for Veterans and they went above and beyond for my car. Friendly technicians and fast too !

I'm glad I finally decided to go to Lathrop Smog for service! I've passed it by so many times while on my way to another place and wondered how the service is. I went there today for a smog check. Michelle came right on out before I even shut my truck off! Both she and Dan explained the details regarding the smog process for my truck. I was even educated by Michelle regarding CA smog laws--that was very much appreciated. Dan answered some questions regarding other parts of my truck which was also very much appreciated. Both Dan and Michelle made me feel like I was very welcomed there, like friends just hanging out at the shop. There was no horse crap in what they were saying, and they stayed true to the lost virtue of just being honest with the customer. Both are very knowledgeable. When I asked for a quote regarding other services, again it was all about the customer. There was no pressure to come back to them. Just a simple, genuine friendly offer of them being there if I want or need them to care for my truck. I really recommend y'all going to Lathrop Smog for auto services. They're not restricted to smog checks and their prices are extremely competitive!! No more SpeeDee for me! read more

Had to get my car smogged... right when I got there it got pretty busy so I had to wait for a bit. The lady was super nice, and kept me updated on how much longer I had to wait. I didn't have to wait too long but she still gave me a discount just for the wait. Would definitely recommend - really great customer service, and they made everything quick and easy read more

I needed two vehicles smogged this month and decided to try a local Lathrop business instead of where I had gone in the past. The first car had a permanent code which required a trip to the dealer before getting a retest with a passing vehicle, but these guys took care of me and their total cost was very reasonable. Car 2 required a new sensor which I took care of, then took the car here for the test. I was back home 20 minutes later with a passing vehicle. Quick, friendly, able to do repairs when needed and a pleasure to do business with. I highly recommend going here if you need a smog check. read more
