They're always friendly, efficient, and helpful in this place. They also offer coupon to help you with discounts on your smog cost. The wait can be hours especially in the mornings as this is their busiest time. They have a good number of seats inside if you decided to wait in which I always do. The wait is just an estimate because they work quick and you'll be out there in no time. It's always a pleasure doing business with them. read more

This is my go-to place for getting my smog checks done. The professionalism, efficiency, and quick service are always top-notch. It's also a veteran-friendly spot, which makes it even more special. While you wait, you can take a look at the historical veteran items displayed in the waiting area. Great service and a meaningful atmosphere! read more

Good work and fast for a diesel truck smog check. Highly recommend this shop! Great value for the price.

I would like the add it's way over price and there $10 coupon isn't worth it for what they charge.

Alex is helpful, on top of things, very professional and offers quick service. He gets you in and out in a timely manner. He doesn't waste any time getting to work. read more

If they haven't changed their prices within the last 2 years, they are ripping you off. It's time for me to get a smog on one of my vehicles and I'm going to skip this place. They are over charging you. Don't take my work for it, do your re-search. I have two vehicles, a smog was due for one of them a few months ago, I took it to a shop in San Jose this time and it was only $45. Freedom Smog had charged me $89 for this same vehicle a few years ago. If you can't go to the Bay Area and stuck in Manteca, I would call other shops to see what they charge and compare. When they told me $89 I was a shock to hear such a high amount (2024). Again, don't take my word for it, do your re-search. read more

I've been a customer of Freedom Smog at least 20 years if not longer before they changed the name to Freedom Smog. I remember back then Dustin was the only tech/owner with a tiny small cold like cubicle section. Ever since back then I've been going to their shop up to date. In fact, I was there just today and mind you I have 6 vehicles that I always bring to them and have always I mean always happy and satisfied with their services and their professionalism with great customer attitude even when they have new employees. We all just have to be patient and understanding and show them respect and the job they do. I'll continue to go to them as long as the owner Christine stays in business and I certainly hope so. I also had to go to freedom smog in Modesto sometime last year cuz Manteca machine crapped out on them and the gentleman in Modesto was also great. Thank you to both tech Alex & Logan at Manteca location for friendly and professional who took care of me today as usual. To Christine the owner- please praise Alex and Logan all the past and present employees that helped me in the past and know that they are a great asset to your business. Again, thank you Logan and Alex and keep up the great work and outstanding customer service. Big Kudos! read more

fast & easy service.. been frequenting this place for years and they are always quick and professional.

Nice location and waiting area. Fast clean shop. Fair pricing. Quick service. No appointments necessary.

I came on first visit 3/31. I checked in at 11:00 and was told it was a two hour wait. He said I could leave and come back later ( two hours) and receipt would show I was here and they would push me to the next service. Cool. Came back an asshole loudly told me I'd have to wait another two hours. Won't be back. I left went to ALL PRO SMOG. They took me right away. Took 20 min. I highly recommend them!! Professional!! read more

I had high hopes for this place based on the good reviews, but I ended up leaving without getting the smog check. The staff was friendly and the shop looked well-kept, but the prices were way higher than what I've seen at other places--almost double the competition. On top of that, the wait time was around 45-55 minutes, which was pretty long, especially since the shop was crowded. I understand they're busy, but for the price, I was expecting a faster, more convenient experience. I decided to go elsewhere where I could get the smog done for half the price and without the long wait. Great staff, but unfortunately, the price and wait time just didn't make it worth it for me. FYI they quoted me 88bucks. read more

Returning customer and will return when smog needed in future. No appointment needed. Quick service. One person ahead of me and I was out in less than 30 minutes. read more

No appointment necessary and they give a generous Veteran's discount. A patriotic business!

Answer isn't based on quality as I've not taken my vehicle there. However, then I called then, they quoted me a price of $78.00. Why so much? Ended up going elsewhere and had my vehicle smogged and PASSED for $40.00 less. read more

They are always polite, quick and efficient. They upload the results to the DMV immediately so you can file your registration renewal

Honestly grateful for this business! Thank you for taking care of our veterans and active duty! I came in for a Smog check. The service was great! Was treated with respect and kindness. I felt very valued. read more

Fastest smog I've ever experienced. DUSTIN had me checked in and checked out in 10-15 min. Even did a quick inspection on my car for me. Showed me what paperwork I needed to show dmv to transfer the vehicle to my name. Super helpful and polite!! Thank you DUSTIN and Freedom Smog team! read more

Good Service. No reservations so it's best to go when they open . You can get the 10% off if you find it on their web page.

Been coming here for about 3 or 4 years now because I moved to Manteca. But last year I paid over $80 for a smog, and this is just a car. Not a truck or SUV. So it was time for my girlfriend to get a Smog and when I told here how much, she said "NO. "I'm taking my car to where I usually go in Sunnyvale". She got the Smog today, I asked her how much, and it was: $43 I think she found a coupon on their website for $10, so let's just say it was $53, and this is for a 2014 Honda Accord. I would say to everyone, just shop around a little. But if you work in the Bay Area, just do it over there. Things seems to be a little overpriced in Manteca at times. I'm not saying this Smog shop here in Manteca is bad, I'm just saying check some prices at other shops before you commit to coming here. read more

Rude, overpriced and just a terrible waste of anyone's time. I unfortunately went more than once hoping for a better experience instead I got more attitude then a pissed off teen and more expensive smog then the previous. read more

Great service thanks for supporting military veterans keep up the good work. Price is not bad either.

Great service and with patriotic theme waiting area. A bunch of military memorabilia to peruse while waiting for your vehicle. They also offer military discount! Great value and happy ti do business to those who appreciate military service. read more

Walked in for smog and was it was done quickly and on the spot for a fair fee! Gentlemen were professional and polite. Absolutely LOVED the lobby waiting area full of amazing military memorabilia and tributes to some of our local fallen heroes. This will be our only smog station as long as we live in the valley! Thanks, Freedom Smog! read more

Year 2010 smog check paid $78 only use 10 mins get the job done. No way more expensive in town

Awesome customer service the guy got me in and out so fast. It was a great value I would recommend.

Freedom Smog is awesome. Not only are they affordable, but they are super friendly and just super easy to work with. Took my car in late on a Saturday and roughly 20-30 minutes later I was done and they were sending my certificate off to the DMV for my registration. I've recommended them to anyone who has smog needs. They've done nothing but great work. The only gripe could potentially be that they're located next to a car stereo shop, so you're bound to hear some loud (and mostly bad) music while you wait. read more

They charge over 85 dollars for a smog. I had the same service performed by another place in town for less than 50 dollars. My wife also took her car there and they were very rude to her. After leaving a similar review on Google I was called by the owner who harassed me and very aggressively asked me to remove the review. I have no ill will against this company, I just want customers to know that the price is unfair. read more

I have been using Freedom Smog for a few years. This past visit was a bit slow because they were short on staff. Nevertheless, I was kept informed on the status of my car and they made sure customers were taken care of in as timely of a manner as possible. I'll continue to use Freedom Smog as my preferred shop. Give these guys a try! read more

Charged too much getting my car serviced. I would ck first to see how much they charge first.

Walked in a Friday morning for a Smog Star Test. Place is pretty busy on a Friday morning, service advisor stated it would be about an hour since there where 2 others of head of me. Waited at Starbucks across the way, car was done shortly. Unfortunately I did not pass due to a broken Air Tube/Hose, the good thing was the tech showed me & mark exactly where the visual inspection failed so I didn't have to pay a mechanic to find the problem. Free retesting with in 90 days once I get my repairs done. Other places even at $40 just Test your car & you are just a "Pass or Fail" to them & don't take time to show you the problem (if is a visual fail), they just say "take to a mechanic". Thank you Freedom Smog for the great service & under the hood knowledge! read more

Excellent, reliable, friendly place to get your car smogged at a reasonable price. Discounts available.

Very rude staff and unprofessional! I was trying to get a quote and staff kicked me out my parking space.

Been at this smog station many time and they do well and honest work. Highly recommended. Good customer service

The discount for checking in through Yelp was no longer honored but they gave me $10 as a courtesy. I was looking at 50% off until they told me Yelp was wrong about their promo and it shouldn't be there. I'm still giving 5 stars bc I've been coming to this place for years and they never disappoint. Great service and great people. Just a little hiccup with the Yelp discount. They should probably fix it before someone really gets upset. read more

-zero rate for this. They just want money and didn't give you any option. Rude and never want to work when it's almost 1 hour before closing time read more

Came here on a Friday around 5pm and there was no wait I've been here for almost all my smogs and it's a very humbling and honor to be in a room full of history and military paraphernalia, with Veterans Day here how could I not, and not to mention I got a discount, in and out less than 15 mins, service was extremely good. Support you local business, What more can you ask for here. If your car is due for a smog this is the spot to bring it. Thank you for my freedom. read more

I sent my son here to get his car smogged. Even with a $10 off coupon it was still $80. I should have asked about price first, my mistake. Other places in town charge about $40 to test and around $9 for the certificate. Why so expensive? read more

He was very nice and quoted me 90 minutes but it was done sooner. You could tell he wanted to get everyone in and out as fast as possible.

My husband has taken his car here twice to get smogged. Both times he has received excellent service. They were fast, and friendly! They also honor service members, so he got his car smogged for free!! Thank you for your help! read more
