He said yes. So, I came back for the re-test 2 weeks later and the same person behind the desk now told me that the smog retest will cost $48.00 because my car was before 1999 or older. Got at location just before opening time, 8am. It's now after 9 am, and no one has showed up for work. Doors are still locked tight. Customers come to a business for a service, not to sit and wait for the manager/employees to show for work. I watched 2 other customers leave because they were tired of waiting. Always the cheapest and best place in town to go to for your smog checks. Super fast and friendly service. Usually you can get in and out of there in less than 15mins. The waiting room is air conditioned and has a TV to watch while you wait, and a lot of Military items to look at and read. This the only place that I go to for smog checks. Took the vehicle in late December to get it smart for re-tag. The men at the register were aware that I knew nothing of vehicles and had failed my vehicle for multiple issues. Try to get a resmogged, and their machine was down. For three weeks. When I finally took the vehicle back in it had extended past the three months. And they wanted to charge us for a full re-smog at $109. The gentleman that I work for as well as myself are veterans and have proof of such. Freedom smog did not care and charged us at full charge. It's disgusting that this place that claims to be for veterans takes advantage of veterans and tries ripping them off for as much money as possible. As a veteran, I chose Freedom Smog to perform a smog on my vehicle because of their support for our military and convenient location. They offer free smogs to active military and have a coupon match statement on their website in VERY LARGE text saying they match ANY coupon. Upon entering the building and presenting a coupon for Lathrop/Ripon smog at $19.99, the employee said "that's iffy. Ill have to ask my boss." He then offered me a $29.95 coupon. Why would I pay $29.95 when your website clearly states you match coupons. I declined and asked that he check with his boss. He returned and said they couldn't do it. Don't say you'll do something if you won't. That reflects poorly on you, your character, and your business. I hope this post inspires Freedom Smog to either stand up and support what they say they will, or remove the statement from their website saying they will match coupons. Great customer service!!! Fast and friendly service! I first messaged the company and requested a quote. Immediately I received a response from Christina, who was very nice and informative. It's was nice to message a human being and not a program issuing automated responses. I took my car in for a smog check and to get a certificate for the DMV. I did not make an appointment and did a walk-in so I had 4 cars ahead of me, however they are super quick. They did all this for me in about 30 minutes. I guess it doesn't really matter that your car passes all the emission tests they do, if you have any replacement parts, their not gonna pass you. As if it isn't expensive enough to live in CA, you gotta make sure you not only have the correct emissions, but also that everything appears original. Went in today for a smog and all I can say is it was a wonderful experience. For one, it's 100 degrees today, and the waiting area had an AMAZING air conditioner Dustin greeted us and was extremely helpful as I only had a photo on my phone of the registration information because I left it at home. GREAT PLACE to smog your car!!! Dustin was friendly and most of all seemed knowledgable which is something I can not say about the Smog Only place down the street. It was refreshing to deal with someone who seemed to have it together and got me in and out as quick as possible. They have competitive prices, the lobby is clean, has a t.v you can watch (helps the time go by faster) and they even have a little table set up for the kids with coloring books and crayons.
