Called to see if they took appointments and they didn't. So I was expecting at least a little wait. But we were in and out in just 15 minutes! As soon as we walked up we were immediately welcomed by Juan, who was super friendly and professional. He checked me in, got someone to start on my car, and before my daughter and I even finished checking out the awesome little history museum they've got in there, they were done and my car was already pulled out front for me. I paid full price and was happy to do so, because they are amazing in their support for our military. They provide a free smog test for all military, both active duty and veterans! Awesome service, but very meticulous and picky. They failed my car with the same setup I brought in last year.

I'm immensely disappointed to say my experience ended up not being positive. I came to this station because of the high reviews and reputation . First of all, the customer service was friendly, and they took me in with no trouble. However, despite my ignorance to get my engine light repaired, the man at the desk came out passive aggressive towards me, telling me if I knew my engine light was on, and if I wanted my car to blow up. It's an automatic smog fail. Understandably, his feelings of irritation and concern are completely valid. I was quite dumb not to think about my engine lights. HOWEVER, his comments about it were unnecessary. I hope future patrons have a lovely experience with them because it won't be me. read more

I've been taking my car and my dads cars here for maybe 3-4 years now and once again I walk in there, get checked in immediately, friendly service, and I'm out in less than an hour (probably less than half an hour, I wasn't exactly watching the clock.) I was there a few weeks ago and my car failed because the tailpipe was smoking when you rev it (probably because I neglect my car so oops), the friendly technician walked me out there, showed me what the problem was, and talked about how I could fix it. Like what product to buy, brushed over some directions, and where to buy it. Came back in for a re-test at a little over $8 (passed this time). Both times nice people. The second time I'm in there though, the guy behind the counter looked like Ben Stiller lol. All of the sudden i got a check engine light so I failed my smog (whatever not their fault) I brought a coupon that in the email said the smog was 39.75 with the coupon. When I paid they told me Google had a missprint and that they couldn't give me the smog at that price. Idk about you but if a company marks something at a price they have to give it to you regardless of typos. Car guys always love to rip women off because they think we are dumb. I recently moved back to Cali from Seattle and needed a smog. I tried to stop and a few places along the way, but they were all "about" to close so they wouldn't see me (it was a Friday). I found this place was open on a Saturday and went in (I needed to get it taken care of to go to the DMV on Monday). They were really quick and it only took them 15 minutes, even with other patrons in the lobby waiting. Wish I could give absolute negative stars. I walk in and the guy doesn't look like he knows what he's doing. And they tamper everything their uncertain of. Know many people who had the same problem. With my past experience at a different location they had test the vehicle with check engine light and charge me for it to tell me that it's not passing because of the light. Affordable, Excellent service. I rolled up to smog my vehicle where it was discovered that I had a hose that was essentially broken in half. No biggie. He told me that I could fix it up myself for a couple bucks as opposed to spending the $200 to get it done by a professional and come back for a FREE retest. I drove to O'Reillys and picked up a PCV valve (I broke it removing the hose) + hose for a few dollars. It took a grand total of 2 minutes to install and when I returned for the retest, they immediately took my car. Since the check engine light popped on when I installed the new hose, I was instructed to drive a few miles to get the juices flowing so the display issue would fix itself. When I came back for yet another FREE retest, everything was sorted. The best part? Including the smog and free retests, I spent a grand total of $8.25! What a well-run business! As a large family, we have had several cars to smog over the past few years. Since trying Smog Tech Manteca, we refuse to go anywhere else. I've never encountered an employee here that is less than perfectly courteous, smiling, and willing to take their time with you. They are speedy and efficient, and explain each time that they don't do repairs onsite to ensure their integrity. Yesterday I took in a car that was past the 90 free retest window (awesome policy) so I didn't mention it had been in before. They pulled my information and insisted on giving me the free retest because it was so close. Add their wonderful service to the Starbucks next door where you can wait, and I actually kind of look forward to smogging my car :) read more

My husband is a retired veteran who served his duty and we all have our military ID's yet they would not honor him with the military discount. They have many military items displayed in their waiting area which made us feel proud yet they only honor a discount for active duty members. If they honored all military members & their families this would be a 5 star review. Smog went great. read more
