Today I came in for something I had ordered online. I was directed to this short, fat, bald, man who immediately turned angry the minute asked for his advice on how to use the product. For this guy to get so angry so fast when asked for a simple response, makes me wonder how he still has a job. Honestly, I can only assume that unless this guy has a record of being so prolifically rude to every customer that walks thru the door that this guy is a grade A homophobe. I know homophobia when I see it. Ive lived with it my whole life. But I called him out and told him he was rude and that I could have gone to Home Depot but I want to support Feinsod's in the shadow of a superstore. When I said I could have easily gone to Home Depot but chose not to he screamed to me "THEN GO TO HOME DEPOT!" I hope the management of this store is ok with losing a long time customer at the cost of supporting an obvious hater. Good Bye Feinsod's I'm off to Lowe's. I tried to support you.

The Hemlock salesman first said, unfriendly-like, that he didn't have the matching screw. I said I didn't require the exact match - only something that would not be a sharp contrast. He unhelpfully showed me a shiny silver finished screws. Then, I replied I was thinking black, because of the antiqued finish. He rudely showed 1/2' black screw. I already miss the helpful Posters Hardware in Fairfield. I ended up at Home Depo,t where they were surprisingly helpful and had what I needed at 1/10 of the price. I will never go back to Hemlock Hardware - their just plain rude.

Best of all, given that time is money, you can get in and out of here in the time it takes to find a parking spot at Home Depot!

My only recurring issue is that sale items sometimes ring up at full price at the register. Once you're home it's too much of a hassle to go back to get the corrected amount returned, and the error always seems to work in favor of the store and not the customer. It just happened with driveway patch I bought this week. If they fix that issue, I'd highly recommend them.

Simple: they have great products in stock, and their service is even better. All I have to do is walk in and say "Do you have...?" And they're already walking me down the right aisle to exactly what I need. Also, I love the people at the cash register who are ALWAYS friendly, and actually look you in the eye when ringing you up -- a rarity these days. The staff there has always been great. In the rare event they are out of stock on something or don't carry a product, they will try to get it for me and will call me when they do have it. Love this place! Can't say enough positives. I can't think of a time I've visited when I wasn't approached by a salesperson offering help. The store is well stocked and immaculate, and they can even do repairs on some household items. In fact, I brought something in for repair last week and received a call just a few hours later that it was ready for pickup. And this kind of turnaround was on a Sunday! Prices are reasonable, and certainly reasonable enough to keep me out of Home Depot or Lowe's. Weed & Duryea saves me the trek and the annoyance.
