Even though it was the off-season, the store was surprisingly busy. They have so many different varieties of cheese, and I loved that they had plenty of samples already cut up with toothpicks so you could try them before buying. I sampled a few, and they were excellent! I will say, the smell when you first walk in is definitely strong, not necessarily the best smell, but it is a cheese shop after all! Besides cheese, they also carry sauces, pastas, and several other specialty items. The lady working at the counter was very friendly and helpful. I didn't purchase anything on this visit because I mainly wanted to stop in, look around, and experience this well-known local spot. They also have tons of artisanal pastas, crackers, butter, etc. David helped us as we were actually in search of a really good loaf of sourdough. He explained that their loaves come from a bakery in NY that has used the same starter for over 100 years. They get the loaves parbaked so they can bake them fresh in the shop. You can opt for a full loaf or half, OR get it parbaked and finish it at your house for a fresh baked loaf at home! If I lived within 30 minutes of this shop, I'd be back for the bread alone. The staff is super knowledgeable and seemed eager to help explain any specialty item (with tastings!). This will be a MUST next time I'm in RI!

We grabbed a few of these, crackers, honey, and with items already at home I made myself a tasty, cheesy lunch spread. The cheese selection is unlike anything you'll find at the local grocery. Cheese soaked in gin, bitters and vermouth. Creamy wensleydale with fig and honey. Espresso rubbed cheese. So many options it's hard to choose. Hence, the small samples. I lived here for over a year before I discovered this store; I can't believe it took me so long. It has become a ritual to stop in here every Saturday with one of the girls from work. I absolutely love the place. I buy lots of honey there. It is locally made and so it is great for allergies. I love all the flavors they have, gray for mixing with different teas I drink. I enjoy their produce and am always finding something interesting to buy and try. It's not a huge store but it's not in a huge town either. Prices are a little up there but I find that is normal when you are shopping at an organic store and I think it is worth it. Plus I like the idea of supporting a local business. I also like buying gifts here when I take a trip back to the west coast for my patents. Last time I visited I took them cranberry honey, cinnamon honey and maple butter (so yummy on French toast). I definitely recommend stopping by whether you live in the area or just visiting for the summer.

A great selection of Portuguese products (from mainland and the islands) and home ware / kitchen ware. There was a large selection and told him what we typically enjoy drinking and he showed us multiple bottles. We went with two of the options he suggested and he hit the nail on the head. They were exactly what we like and wanted!! For imported products the prices are fair. Even the box of Queijada from the Azores price wasn't far off from what I paid on the island right from the source! They have a cafe as well, we didn't try it this time around but everything looked great. We will definitely be back and will try it the next time!!

We found so many local favorites here (Wrights Dairy Farm milk and cheeses, Warwick Ice Cream specialty flavors, breads and dry goods from popular local vendors etc.) as well as some fun gift items we've never see before. We selected some prepared food items (broccoli crunchy salad and veggie pasta salad) to go with our sandwiches and we were not disappointed. The ladies behind the counter were lovely and very nice to speak with, they not only told us about the items in the deli case, they also shared their love for the Pawtuxet Village area and recommend some other shops we should visit. We're already planning another visit there as soon as the weather warms up a bit so we can enjoy our sandwiches outside and do a little more shopping in the area.

We walked into Pawtuxet Village Market & hubby says, "We've been here before." Meanwhile, I'm standing there thinking that it does look familiar... but also kinda new? Turns out we were both right! It's a newer-ish addition to the Pawtuxet Village shops & the Market is super cute. There is a little of everything: a charming bakery counter, prepared foods, made-to-order breakfast & lunch items, great coffee, fresh produce, freezer staples, baking must-haves, local RI products & shelves of unexpected goodies. It's one of those places where you walk in for one thing & walk out with five more. For the challenge, we tried their homemade biscuit sandwich topped with scrambled eggs, cheese, ham & arugula. Absolutely delicious! The chicken salad is scrumptious & I have to go back for another container of beet salad cuz I ate the whole thing for lunch today. There's still a whole menu of goodness calling us back, so a return trip is definitely happening soon! Highly recommend. NOM NOM NOM #YUM
