Tres Leches Cake in a cup
Anthony V.

This restaurant was close to the hotel we were staying at, so we gave it a chance. We went on a Sunday evening around 3pm and was told we couldn't order from over half menu because they close at 4pm on Sunday. So we had to rethink our order. It a small neighborhood place which has the potential to be a nice spot to hang out. The service, let say if you go avoid the tall dark haired cuban waitress, she is horrible! Poor people skills and a lack of attention to customer needs. As for another server, hopefully so you the shorter on that is very friendly and attentive. She waited on us towards the end of our meal. Now for the meal. I had the lechon asado which they give you a huge portion, that they need to shred the port some more, the dish had huge chunks of pork that came across as dry, the beef empanadas were really good, the plantains and tostones were average, the sangria was nice, the tres leches cake was way to sweet and had the texture of bread pudding. If I'm ever in the area again, I won't go on a Sunday and will get empanadas and a beer and call it a day.

Came here since it was the nearest place to eat from our hotel. Definitely not the most organized place to eat. Their outdoor menu on the wall is completely different than the menu you get inside. Their staff was not friendly at all, nor were we greeted. Their staff also did not speak English so it was confusing to order. It is obviously a place for locals and employees of the Miami Airport. If they want to improve, I suggest streamlining their confusing menu. Overall, the food was awesome. I just wish our experience matched it. Food 9/10 Service 5/10 Ambiance 4/10

This was a great spot and near the airport too. The pricing, portions and quality are excellent. I had a sandwich here and it was very tasty. The service was friendly. If I lived in Miami, I'd come here often! I'd recommend this to tourists visiting as it feels "authentic" as a culinary experience.

Delicioso comida! We sat at the bar and got a quick lunch! The service was quick and very nice camarera. Tu necesitas hablar español. We would come back

I absolutely loved the outdoor seating! As soon as you sit down, you're welcomed. We had pork tacos (delicious) and hubbs had 2 chicken empañadas. He loved them so much that he ordered 2 more! I also ordered a small pitcher of sangria and it was perfect! Fruity and not overly sweet. Plan on going back for morning coffee!

Ceviche was absolutely delicious! Boiled yucca mojo was the winning side dish! Tender, sweet and delicious!. Churrasco did not disappoint! Great way to start our vacation

Don't listen to the haters, this spot is amazing!! 1) They certainly do speak English 2) They serve the whole menu all day, we flew in on a red eye from LA and didn't want breakfast. No issues getting whatever we wanted. I had the masas de puerco with rice, beans, and tostones .. my wife had the pork lechon with rice, beans, and plantain chips ... our daughter had the ham n cheese sandwich with sausages on the side. 3) The food was made quickly and was damn good 4) The fresh squeezed juices were so good, I had passion fruit and the wife had mango 5) Everything was DIRT CHEAP! Everything above plus a strawberry shake was $46 ... they did add a 15% service charge but that was only $6, no big deal given how inexpensive this place is. Don't sleep on it, don't listen to the grouches. Go happy and you'll leave happy.

This place is small, but packs a punch with flavor! I ordered the Cuban coffee and a Cuban sandwich. From the perfect kick from the coffee to pick up my afternoon slump to the deliciously prepared sandwich, I left very happy. I want to come back for other dishes! The arroz con pollo and the tostones look amazing. So I think I must return. The prices are perfect and the options to sit either outside or inside is great for everyone.

DIRT AND MUD IN THE SALAD!!! WATCH OUT…read more We ordered the salad with mango and pecans. They do not wash there lettuce. There was literally dirt/mud at the bottom and I took my first bite and it felt like biting into sand. Upon spitting the food out onto my plate it was black sludge. Literally my tongue and teeth were black. The waiter came by and grabbed the plate when I was in the bathroom. I spent about 10 minutes trying to get that BLACK SLUDGE out of my mouth. When I was spitting out the dirt/mud wife noticed the bus boys laughing at me and there was not a manger in sight. When I asked for a manager he did not even respond. No apology or anything just a look of confusion. Worst experience in a restaurant in my life and I love to eat and have been to many types of restaurant big and small. Cheap and expensive and this one takes the cake. We were so bummed as I see thousands of great reviews. But if there was a zero I would have given zero stars the way they handled the situation. If you eat there in the future make sure to check for DIRT/MUD.

Five of us ordered: 5 Cafecitos 1 Pan con Lechon 3 Pan con Bistec 1 Coladita 1 Timba Came out to $107.45 including a $10 tip. We already had a memorable Cubano sandwich so we explored other options. The Lechon was by far the crowd favorite flavor wise, but it is heavier with the pork fat. The garlic sauce is a must to help cut through the richness. We left supremely happy with the salty and garlicky fat flavors lingering on our tastebuds, rejuvenated by a quick shot of velvety espresso, and capped off with the sweet guava and tangy queso crema shake (La Timba). This location is nestled in a food court style area, with a few restaurants offering sit down table service as well. And when I say offering, the sales tactics are reminiscent of timeshare sales zombies standing in an idle state until you mistakenly stop for a BEAT and then it's game on for them. Luckily at Sanguich, they have a few dedicated seats and tables for themselves and they'll come drop your order for you. A little bit of a scavenger hunt to find it, but well worth the adventure. The views out on the water are a bonus too.

We ordered a ton, and right off the bat: if you love croquetas and empanadas, order extra. They're on the smaller side and come individually, but they are so good they disappear fast. The beef empanadas were a 10/10 perfectly seasoned and crispy. The chicken empanadas didn't hit the same for me, but the jamón croquetas? Absolutely insane. A must. For appetizers, the prawns al ajillo were delicious super flavorful and cooked perfectly. We also tried the grilled octopus, which was good, but not my favorite. It leaned a bit bland for my taste, even with the sauce. Now, the must-get: the carnitas with pickled onions. Easily one of the best dishes of the night so flavorful, tender, and perfectly balanced. For entrées, we had the ribeye steak and arroz con pollo, plus sides of tostones and yuca. Everything here delivered. The steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right not overly salty. The arroz con pollo was phenomenal, the kind of dish you could eat every single day. The tostones were crispy and tossed in garlic, which took the flavor to another level, and the yuca was melt-in-your-mouth good. I also ordered a mojito, which unfortunately was very watered down, I barely got any of that classic mojito flavor. Service overall was solid, especially considering how loud the restaurant gets it was honestly hard to hear each other at the table, so shoutout to our server for keeping everything straight. The appetizers came out quickly, back-to-back, which we loved. The only downside was the wait for the entrées they took quite a while after we finished the apps, even though we ordered everything at once. Overall, amazing food, great energy, and definitely worth going just be prepared for a lively (and loud) atmosphere.

Unfortunately, our other server disappeared and never checked up on us. We pretty much didn't have any napkins during our entire duration of our meal. At least that part was good. We started off with a couple of mojitos and their Vaca Frita Tostones. You get these homemade maduro tostones topped off with shreeded beef in a moon sauce, pickled onion, and aji Amarillo aioli. A very delicious dish that didn't last long. Shortly after we received our main dish. I really hate when they do that. My wife ordered their Abuelas Ropa Vieja and I ordered their Masa de Puerco Chino. My wife didn't really care for her dish much. We've had plenty of Ropa Vieja before and would have preferred a congri type of rice as opppsed to just plain white rice. My dish was 10/10. Like in the name of "chino" this is an Asian inspired dish with fried rice, maduros, pineapple confit and crispy pork. A very delicious dish. It could have don't without the little salad on top, but at least it ads color to the dish. The crispy pork tasted so amazing and the fried had so much flavor. Mix in some of the maduros and you get a sweet and savory dish. Would definitely be returning to try this dish again.

The Cuban sandwich was exactly what you hope for -- crispy bread, perfectly pressed, packed with flavor, and the kind of sandwich that makes you pause mid-bite and just nod at the person across from you like "yep... this was the right decision." The Cuban burger was also fantastic -- juicy, flavorful, and big enough that you start questioning whether you should have skipped breakfast. The area around the restaurant was great too.
