I was on a long road trip with my wife and her elderly mom when we noticed a slow tire leak (on the Jan 20,2025 holiday). We found Rim Renew nearby and went there for help, even though they do not specialize in tire repairs. They were extremely helpful, started within a few minutes, and spent about an hour locating a very small leak in the shoulder of the tire. Because of the location of the leak, the tire could not be repaired and they did not have a suitable replacement tire in stock. The owner contacted a nearby tire dealer, and arranged for us to have a replacement tire installed as soon possible. Sam @ Rim Renew is a true pro. Quick and concise communication, fair pricing and exceptional work. I purchased some (allegedly refurbished) 21" OEM wheels for my Tesla on ebay. On install, Tesla reported all 4 wheels were warped to varying degrees and were basically impossible to balance. I dropped my car off with Sam. He discovered significant damage under the 'refurb' powder coating which had been put on top of the shoddily repaired damage. Sam and his team fixed the warping issue and repaired the badly damaged areas they discovered. They also refinished all 4 wheels and brought them back to the original OEM silver color. Rim Resurrection! After my wheel was massacred by a Maryland pothole that was hell-bent on murder, I brought the poor thing to Rim Renew. Sam looked at it and looked at me gravely, letting me know it was majorly cracked. He told me that they could get it the best they could, but it would never truly look the same. Sam reminded me of a surgeon telling an athlete that they would walk again, but they'd never play in the pros. Sam and I both acknowledged that they don't make these wheels anymore and I told Sam to do what he could to save her life. This was late Monday afternoon when Sam gave me my wheel's prognosis and by mid Tuesday he had fixed her up. I went and met my sure to be still mangled and scarred wheel today. My tire pressure kept getting low. I figured that this was because of the impact of the cold weather. I found myself putting air in my tire every two days which became annoying. I took it to a tire place (not Rim Renew) which told me that there was a bend in the rim. The told me that they would seal it. My tire pressure was good for about 4 days and then it went flat again. I called Hyundai dealership to inquire about purchasing a new rim and they were talking almost $400. Then I asked about getting the rim repaired and that was about $300. I went to Yelp to get direction on a reputable tire place. Rim Renew came up as a highly respectable place. I spoke with a young lady who mentioned that SHE could attempt to repair the rim first before determining that I needed a new rim. The mere fact that there was a woman mechanic...I was sold. When I got there, the owner met me outside. Side Note: He is beautiful. He is very friendly and very knowledgeable in his craft. I met the young lady who I originally spoke with and she is awesome. They took the tire off and placed the donut on in less than 5 minutes. They sent me on my way and told me to come back by 3pm for my rim. I returned at 3pm, they put my tire back on the car, I paid $160 and was gone in 10 minutes. There are many reasons why you should choose Rim Renew as your provider, but the primary reason is their quality of service. The last tire place sprayed a sealant on the rim and did not guarantee their work. Rim Renew actually welded the crack in the rim back together and guarantees their work for a lifetime. I first came in March 2016 so that my rim could be repaired because it had a slow leak. I ended up getting all 4 rims repaired since it was explained to me that this problem would probably happen to the others. I was happy with the results and rode around until May with no problems. I began to feel some kind of way, especially when the main culprit began to leak again. I rode around for nearly two months with the slow leak because I didn't want the perceived 'hassle' that I thought I would have. Well, there was absolutely no hassle and no leak from the rim. Great place!! I made a call before heading there and the Boss, Sam recognized and greeted me the second i got out of my car. Very professional and specialized shop. They had a maserati on the lift so it just shows their workmamships level. We looked over my repairs and he told me a straight out price, made an appointment for when i will drop my car off. He told me he would bring my wheel to a better machine to match the wheel color (had a subaru so my wheels were Gold) Next week, i dropped it off, and picked up my car within 3.5 hours. He cleaned my wheels and also sprayed an extra clearcoat on the repaired wheel. Told me if i had any problems, that i could call him back for re-repairs. Great staff and work!! I had my car for 4 days and caught an awful pothole on the Washington-Baltimore expressway. My regular tire shop made an honest attempt at balancing them but in the end indicated that I would have to replace both driver side rims. The replacement cost was going to be around 849 dollars. With my 500 dollar insurance deductible I would have incurred 349 plus taxes. After doing a fair amount of searching I found that Rim Renew had averaged 4 out of 5 stars in all reviews I read, so I gave them a shot. The staff was great especially Luke McCabe who kept me abreast at every step of the assessment. He even had the patience to listen to this old saylor's sea stories. Once I accepted and approved the repair it took about 2.5 hours. I purposely waited a full week to drive my car in different road conditions and can really say: Great Job Rim Renew! My only gripe is that the location is way to small and there is no waiting room for customers. I believe they are moving into a larger space soon so that won't be an issue. But on to the Good Stuff. The staff was amazing and friendly and courteous. I forgot the owners name but he had helped me out of a jam with both my car and my wife's car. I thought the issue was a rim issue and through a thorough check it was a mounting issue. The tire wasn't mounted on the rim properly by "the other guys" years ago. He did his thing and fixed the problem. My wife had a slow leak for months but again "the other guys" could not find it. Britney search my tire diligently for the puncture and found it... Plugged it and I was on my way. They was even able to order me another tire and rim so I could get a full size replacement. They can do it all. As a female car owner, I despise taking my vehicle to new mechanics/service professionals as many have tried to take advantage of my perceived ignorance of cars in the past. It was always, "Oh, here's the problem this will cost just a few hundred" at the initial inspection. And then, "Well, we found this, that, and the third when we fixed that and now it costs a grand." The struggle. Not the case with Rim Renew! A curb jumped out and kissed my extra-sensitive Honda Accord rim (That's my story, you weren't there when it happened!). It left a nasty "curb rash" that I couldn't bare to see every day on my otherwise pristine car. I contacted Rim Renew for a quote via Yelp and provided a picture of the damage. Sam explained how they could repair it, how long it would take, and the price. I thought it was fair, considering a new rim costs almost twice as much as the repair. I brought the rim in to be repaired and Luke took great care of me. He wasn't aware of the conversation I had with Sam, but his explanation of the process, time, and cost was exactly the same which gave me so much peace. Luke took the rim and tire off and replaced it with my spare. He checked the tire pressure on the spare before placing it on my car (the extra mile!). Omg...this place is a hidden gem for rim repairs.. i was recommended this place by someone and these guys did awesome job. I have tesla model 3. My front passenger wheel rim was damaged with scratches . Half of my rim was scratched .. i didn't want to take it to tesla because I knew it would cost lot of money.
