Tyre's auto repair never disappoints. They are honest, capable, and services are fairly priced. I visited Tyre's twice recently. In the first instance, they found a technical bulletin from Subaru that covered my repair issue at no charge if I saw the dealer. For a small diagnostic, charge, they saved me several hundred dollars. In the second instance, I saw them for a rear brake replacement suggested when I bought new tires at another business. Tom and the shop foreman Chris have helped us save money with our car repairs more than several times, giving us good solid advise with their varied car repair experience. Recently we had a situation in which a catalytic converter was stolen from our 2004 vehicle, thanks to Trey's Auto, the traumatic theft and the resulting car insurance claim was handled in a very professional and pleasant efficient manner. As Tom and the crew of Trey's Auto are very knowledgeable with car insurance claims and so forth. Trey's auto shop made the necessary repairs in accordance with the insurance company regulations, and then they installed a Miller CAT, 304 Stainless Steel anti-Theft Catalytic converter unit. Now our car is back to running in perfect condition. Thank you, Tyres Auto shop for making our car repairs an all-round better experience! 1 moral of the story is if your older car is paid off, and if insurance company advises you drop to comprehensive insurance to save money on your car insurance bill, at all costs do not drop the comprehensive payment option. read more

Being a woman and going to an auto repair shop by myself has not usually felt as easy as it does when I go here. Every time I go and get quoted for work I am usually paying less than the quote that was given. They are very communicative about the best ways to get the best deals on getting your work done at their shop. One of my other favorite parts is that every time I have taken my car here it has been returned on the same day and if it could not be they were able to notify me early in the morning. The only thing that does upset me which is completely understandable but due to Covid they no longer offer a pick up and drop off service once your car is completed. Other than that understandable change I would 10 out of 10 recommend Tyres auto shop. read more

I had a disabled 2011 Subaru Outback Sport towed to Tyre's based on favorable Yelp ratings and proximity. The car is used by a college student who is far from home. They accurately diagnosed the problem as a blown engine. Here is where the ZERO-Star review begins. Their quote to repair this engine was $6200-7000, depending on the warranty I chose for the engine. This very high estimate struck me as being the same as the book-value of the vehicle!! I hung up and called Don's Auto Mall in Binghamton, New York (closer to home). In five minutes, I received an engine quote for $2000 with a six month warranty (equal to the Tyre's $6200 estimate. I then called a local mechanic who quoted $600 to install the engine. I called Stu back at Tyre's and tried to work a deal to avoid trailering the vehicle back to Binghamton. The only offer was for a 10% coupon. I told him that I thought they were trying to take advantage of a college kid. They assured me that wasn't the case, and I believe them. Long story short, three days later, the car was trailered back (by myself) and repaired expertly. Total cost: $2000 for engine and $595 for labor. Tyre's may be good people, but for God's sake, get a second opinion on price! I saved almost $4000!!! read more

This is my second time going to Tyre's Auto. First time I took my Chevy Express in for oil change. I liked the service so much I took my Lexus SC430 there. I had ongoing issues with the sensors controlling the automatic headlight leveling system causing the headlight warning light (on the dashboard) to intermittently come on and often stay on for weeks even though the headlights worked fine and the headlight motors worked fine. When I heard that Tyre's had mechanics specializing in European vehicles / luxury vehicles I decided to bring them my Lexus. I had brought the vehicle to another extremely trusted mechanic "Federal Motors" in Federal Hill, South Baltimore and they did not have the specialized Lexus diagnostic equipment to resolve the issue so since I frequent Timonium I thought I would try Tyre's. I scheduled an appointment a day or two in advance with Stu, a service advisor, and showed up about 30 minutes early and the staff at Tyre's immediately greeted me and got me squared away. The mechanics were on my car in about 10 minutes running diagnostic checks. All together, the mechanic probably had my car about 30 minutes. Eventually one of the service advisors let me know that the issue was indeed requiring of the deep-dive diagnostic equipment that only the Lexus dealership had available. Additionally, they did not charge me at all for the evaluation. I appreciate that they have a level of business integrity to not charge a customer when no service could be performed, even though they "spent" at least 30 minutes of their mechanic's labor on the diagnostic process. I would easily bring my vehicles back to Tyre's and I will recommend them to my friends living close to Towson, Timonium, Lutherville, Cockeysville and Hunt Valley. read more

I made an appointment for 8 AM which was confirmed with an email stating that the waiting room was closed due to COVID and that they had a drop off service. I pulled in at 7:30 AM. I parked behind their gate and filled out the drop off envelope and put my keys inside the drop box. Although they claim first come first serve, because whoever pulls the keys did not pull mine before several other people pulled up, she informed me that they could not get to my car before 10 AM. Her entire argument was "we emailed you that we were first come first serve". However, what they really should have said was that they were "whoever's keys I pick up is considered first come". I have had many cars in my life from toyota, lexus, audi and VW. I have never heard of this mechanic until my most recent trouble. My timing chain broke bent a bunch of my valves and caused alot of damage to my engine. I dont know much about cars at all and was given this business as a recomendation from a friend. My car was parked in a garage with a 7ft clearance underground which make it very difficult to tow. I could not find a towing company with a small enough truck to help remove my vehicle. When i called i spoke to a very nice woman who recommened me a towing company and had my car removed the same day and even placed my towing bill on the bill for my car which i thought was the most awesome thing in the world. After a few days of looking over my vehicle i was contacted by the owner Mike. He was very light hearted given the circumstances surrounding my car and he was very friendly helpful, and informative. He is a no "bull" kind of person. He does not try to sell you a bunch of things that do not need to be done. he explains everything in detail and makes you understand what is going on.. which is very helpful to me because i cant even change a flat tire and just recently found out how to change a head light... Given the circumstances surrounding my car, i was not able to afford the repairs. i had to choose to let my car go. Mike was so patient with me knowing my car is not moveable he allowed my car to stay there for a few days while i racked up my money to move the vehicle to a safe destination. I can tell you this about this company, i am not a regular of any business really. However from this day forward no one else in this world will touch my car as long as he is in business. I will highly recomend him, and i will bring my new jeep to him on a regular basis for any maintanence required for my car. I would never go back to this place again. I was recommended this place by a friend who was buddies with the owner. I had inherited an old 1990 Chevy from my parents who hardly drove the thing, and put no money into it. I was going to use the car until I bought a new car in a year. So I went to Tyre's just to get it checked out and to replace needed parts. They looked the car over replaced a fuel line, sparks, rotating tires, oil and brakes. It cost me about 1500 bucks when they got done. I drove the thing for 3 days and the thing burned up on Falls Road. I had it towed to Tyrees and the owners whole attitude, was crappy...arrogant and rude. They took NO responsility and I had to walk home to Parkville, No offer to give me a ride....Horrible place. read more

After a tire blowout, I had to purchase one tire. I bought it from Tyres because I had heard good things about them. One week after the $145 tire was purchased, it had a hole by the rim. I didn't hit as much as a curb. Not only is there no warranty on the tire (missed that one) but they wouldn't even offer any discount on a replacement tire. Another $145 later at another shop... I am not a fan of congratulating or acknowledging a person or company for completing the task the customer pays for. Tyre's Auto Repair recently replaced my 4 tires, balanced them, and did the alignment. They were patient in talking through various options (including purchasing the tires at a discounted rate online) and helped me pick the most cost-effective option, even though it meant not buying the tires through them. Plus, they were just so incredibly nice, fit me in immediately because I was driving on a spare, and they must have fielded at least 1/2 a dozen calls from me while this job was occurring. I previously took my car to the dealer for an oil change, and I was advised to replace my brake pads, rotors, and brake fluid for nearly $800. I called around and got quotes from several local shops, and all were quoting less than half of what the dealer was quoting. I decided on Tyres because of their good reviews and because Costco has a service deal with them where members get 15% off. After I dropped my car off, I was offered a complimentary Lyft ride to my office. I got a call shortly after informing me that my brake pads still have enough thickness to last another oil change or two. They said they looked over the car and the only service recommended at this time was to replace the original battery soon, but there was absolutely no pressure to get it done now. Best of all, I wasn't charged a thing. I appreciate the honesty and respect these guys showed me, and I will definitely be coming back for my future vehicle maintenance needs. read more

I took my vehicle to Tyre's after receiving astronomical quote from another service department. My truck was not drivable so it had to be towed from point A to point B and then to point C. I was nervous that I was wasting my time and money, but this was not this case at all. Tyre's saved me nearly 1/3 the cost that the previous service station quoted me at. Tyre's communicated with me well, explaining the issues and what exactly they were doing; technician Jon did a great job and Rob was very helpful and personable when retrieving and explaining any last second questions and details that I may of needed addressed.
