I had a very positive experience with this location after my alternator failed during a drive from DC to Harrisburg. I'm a AAA member and worked through roadside assistance to have my vehicle towed here after hours. Frankly, it was a leap of faith and an assumption that they would be a decent shop if they were allowed to use the AAA name. I was not disappointed. They called by 9:00 AM the following morning with a diagnosis and estimate...and vehicle was complete by 5:00 PM that day Price seemed reasonable and they did not try to push an unnecessary battery replacement. A good experience overall, especially under the stress of breaking down more than an hour from home. read more

I call Roadside to come and jump my car. Ended up needing a new battery. The tech put in the wrong battery, and a week later my car wouldn't start and cost $5,000 to fix. The AAA shop and the dealership that ended up fixing it noted that the wrong battery caused electrical damage. I submitted the claim and was DENIED! I called to inquire about an appeal and nope. Can't talk to a supervisor. Can't talk to the risk department than made the decision. There is no appeal process. That's it! I have been a member for 10+ years but cannot support or invest in a company that isn't going to fix its mistakes. Their own technicians admitted it was their error! Make it make sense! read more

I very rarely give negative reviews but this company deserves it. On our 1st visit they were helpful and offered a refund on membership dues ($177) but we went back after a month to get an update since they didn't give the refund. Now after a 2nd visit they state they will not refund the dues even though I cancelled only 2 days after joining. The explanation is that as a returning member you will not be given a refund if it is after 24 hours. The representative wouldn't print out the policy stating this rule and said it is buried deep within 30 pages of a policy handbook (right). Very shady practices to keep your money and they do not value returning members--in fact the worker said to go ahead and write a negative review since their policy IS crap. We are forced to be a member for another year but I won't be joining ever again. We only used their service once in the few years we were a member--and always found the discounts to not be worthwhile. read more

I've been inside this AAA for their travel and title service and it has been great. But absolutely do not come here for service. Had my car towed here because I didn't have any other options after hours. They finally called me two days later and say that a cracked radiator will cost me almost $1,000 to fix! If I was clueless about cars I'd probably have let them fix it but knowing a radiator should cost no more than $250 plus maybe 3 hours of labor, I declined and had my car towed to a much more trustworthy shop. I also felt like the service manager was condescending and seemed annoyed that I was questioning this outrageous price. Anyways, I saved over $500 getting major service elsewhere so beware. read more

My car was towed here late on a Sunday. they replaced the fuel pump, but did not adequately test to see if they resolved the problem. I had to have it towed back two more times before they resolved the problem , I.e. the car would not start. The front desk are friendly, but the technicians are not competent to do work other than routine car care. read more

Throughout the last twenty years or so I've only really used AAA for the basic things (when the car died or needed a jump). So let's get to the reason for this review, shall we? After trying to get a rental for a week I had a lot of issues getting a reasonable discount; the cheap/reasonable car was almost $300 a week at most companies (Avis, Enterprise, Hertz, and National). Having just gotten fed up with searching for the bulk of a day changing around which day we'd leave and come back, the decision was made to call AAA. After being transferred, I was put in touch with Colleen. She went very much out of her way to find a vehicle with above-average gas mileage at a rate that was just over half of the original prices by the other companies. After a bit of emailing back and forth, and a phone call or two, she finally got a reservation for two extra days in addition to the original five day trip originally planned! If that wasn't good enough, I'd mentioned Biltmore Estate (10/10 recommended visit from a personal standpoint) and she offered to check if they have discounted tickets at the store; one minute later she came back with new that they had tickets that were about 25% cheaper than the regular ticket and came with the wine tasting (that may or may not be offered year round; we haven't been there in over twenty years). After everything was said and done she'd saved somewhere in the area of $150-$175. In addition to that, she'd filled me in on services that AAA offers for free, and the towing services that are MUCH more than I'd ever thought. Overall, it was worth taking the time to call and everyone was phenomenal. For every trip in the future AAA/Colleen will be my first call before I start planning any trips anywhere. Do not use the travel agency unless you have every single little detail about your trip. In which case save money and plan it yourself. I received no help planning a trip I am going to take. they didn't even try to figure out anything about my plans for the trip; Like: when do you plan on leaving, how do you plan to travel, what type of places are you planning to visit, economic or first class. While awaiting answers about my cars transmission and on AAA's property my car window was smashed--as shown in photos. This office didn't bother to notify me of the break in, neither did the next tow truck who took it to a more reliable shop. It wasn't until my car arrived at the next mechanic that I was notified about my car being broken into. Upon calling to file a claim with AAA, they said it was caught on camera--after failing to notify me--and denied any responsibility despite my car being under their care. The decency wasn't even taken to cover the broken window. AAA apparently doesn't have the liability insurance to cover accidents at this location. Due to their unsecured location and lack of responsibility I paid out of pocket for my window to be replaced. Don't recommend for any sort of delay or overnight stay. This only shows the lack of care and respect they have for the cars they work on. BIG L for AAA. read more

This was our 1st time ever using AAA for travel. and I must say they did a fantastic job. Colleen Daye, our representative took care of all the hotel and rental car reservations. She gave us time to look all of our options over that she had complied in an email then called us back within the hour to help reserve everything. This would have normally taken us days to research and decide, probably costing is more money if we had not used this service. Colleen even took the time to choose pamphlets of local attractions from our destination and have them waiting at the front desk for us. We will never travel again without calling AAA to help to plan. read more

I love my AAA Roadside Assistance. I wish I could say the same for my local AAA Care Care Center in Timonium. I made an online appointment for service at noon today at this center. I received a confirmation of the appt, including a confirmation number. When I arrived for my appt, I was informed by Chris W. that they didn't start appts until 1:00, and it wasn't my name under that appointment slot. Chris asked if I wanted to schedule a "definite" appointment. I replied that I have a definite appt - for today at noon. He replied, "I know, but it didn't come through and all my guys are on lunch break." He added that the online system is relatively new and sometimes doesn't work correctly. If they know that, perhaps they should disable it so other members will not waste their time. I rearranged my day so that I could attend my confirmed appointment. If this is their idea of good customer service, I won't be back. I DO NOT recommend this center. read more

BEWARE!!! Do not ever take your car to this or any Triple A shop. These people really don't know what they're doing and they will charge you for it. They misdiagnose cars and put on tires without balancing or aligning them. They don't even suggest you get the additional service so I spun out of control on the expressway. Triple A is good for roadside assistance and that's it. You will be making a costly mistake. You've been warned. I am out so much money and still have the same problem I had when I initially brought my car in. They found all kinds of things to fix except what was really wrong. AAA Car Care Center: After a "reverse" coolant flush for a clogged heater core. The next day, I have develop a coolant leak. I had to replace the radiator, thermostat and water pump at a different repair site. I am disappointed with this Timonium AAA car care facility. read more

Car needed work and the repairs were made and after about a month, everything is still working okay. Richard was great and the service was same day. I rated AAA in their survey with 5 stars because they did a great job and were very polite. I marked 4 stars on Yelp because I believe the cost of the repair was a little high. However, the convenience of being able to walk from their store to my office made the justification for paying a little more than another garage. read more

Giving 1 star because giving 0 stars wasn't an option. I don't know what kind of con job they are running from this store, but I went in for a $100 Back to School Special that included a "deluxe" oil change, A/C check, brake inspection, battery check, steering and suspension check and rotate and balance all 4 tires. About 90 min into the appt, the store called me to let me know that I also needed brakes. To the tune of $1,138!!! I declined the service saying that I'd get my regular mechanic to look into it. When I arrived back at the store to pick up my car, I was also told that I needed tires. I was told than I really needed to look into the brakes soon as "any day now" my dashboard brake light was going to come on. They ultimately did not rotate the tires as they were in the "optimum position" and they didn't top off the brake fluid, although I was told it was low. Several days later, I took my car to my regular mechanic and was told I had at least 10,000 miles left on both the brakes and the tires. More importantly, when I do need brakes, both front and back, the total cost is approximately $550. That's a far cry from the $1,100+ I was quoted by AAA Car Care. DO NOT LET THIS STORE SCAM YOU, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE FEMALE!!! read more

Visited twice in the last month for new tires, battery and oil change. The customer service is outstanding. The staff is so friendly, professional and they don't try to pressure/upsell you. They even took the time to show me and explain everything. Both times i made an appointment online and they were on schedule. The waiting room is also very clean and comfortable. While the woman we met with was somewhat helpful, we were most disappointed in the overall services as AAA members for years. Our membership dues paid yearly for all of these years doesn't even allow for flight reservations to be made without a fee of $35 per ticket. We were also more than surprised to learn that the agent didn't even have access to all flight information on her computer. We ended up going to a local travel agency where the fee was $32 per ticket and the agent had access to ALL flight information. Very disappointed in AAA! Your emergency service doesn't really handle emergencies at all! I called today when I was stuck in the mud at a local retirement community. As a female I was by myself and I was told they don't do mud!! Thankfully my Hyundai emergency service is great, efficient, and sent a tow truck which did get me out. AAA - you failed me today. I took my car here to have the air conditioning repaired after spending over $700 on a repair in South Carolina while on a road trip. The air conditioning stopped working one hour into the drive back north. I had been assured that AAA would honor a one year warranty on work done at all AAA auto repair service locations. It turns out that this is NOT the case since I was told that something else had gone wrong on the air conditioning (even after I explained that it stopped worked in about one hour and I didn't want to turn around to return to the same AAA auto repair location because I had faith in the promised warranty which would allow me to take care of it closer to home). I am now out a lot of money with no air conditioning. I wish I had just waited to return home to Maryland before having an expensive repair, but I was falsely reassured by the AAA guarantee. I am still angry after thinking about how I paid $700 for an hour's worth of cool air. My trust in AAA is completely gone. read more
