BEWARE-DO NOT USE RENT AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION This is an UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE, MISMANAGED organization. I have been using this group for my storage needs for going on 20 years. The number of bookkeeping errors, fraudulent charges, and other scams to over charge me are out of control. I am again fighting a depute over payments to cover my monthly rental fee. It seemed prudent to write the San Bernardino County District Attorneys office with hopes of finding out what is going on with the parent company and at this local storage facility. read more

I highly recommend Universal Self Storage for your storage needs! There were 4 people I dealt with and they were all AMAZING!! Stephanie, Joey, and Daniel worked in the office and were extremely helpful! They went above and beyond trying to help us during a difficult situation we were dealing with. The maintenance man, Mr. Michael, also helped us with any questions we had as well as driving us to a new storage unit. Continually raising there pricing. It's ridiculous. Oh yeah, they sent notices out all right, but you receive them after the increase is in effect, if at all. I have had it. Three strikes you're out I'm moving my storage unit today. The management is ridiculous rude and gives you riddles for answers. First time I had my place broken into second time they rented a space to a homeless person who was sleeping and smoking in there third time they weren't at their office during office hours, and tried to tell me an employee might be taking their lunch from 3 to 4 in the afternoon while I waited Which is also ridiculous and then when I asked about ordering news print paper, they said well maybe they will order it for us when we request it and I said well it hasn't been here for months and she said I told you that if they approve it. They gave me a form thateas not for the purpose I asked. They have illogical and non existent customer service makes you mad makes you realize they don't know what's going on there and they're covering for each other and then they call you rude because there is no measure of customer service. Also they don't return phone calls and say they do. They just make up stuff. Someone should send them to customer service school as they obviously have had no training except maybe in gangster school. read more

I am currently in the process of filing a claim, also you expressed that pest control service is offered. The fact is it was never offered to me even after I brought it to the manager attention about the rat droppings. I just want to clarify it wasn't about not having access to the unit because it was never mentioned. And just an FYI you also mentioned if I want to schedule pest control schedule an appointment.. it's obvious you didn't read me review in detail otherwise you would know I already moved out! read more

Do Not go here if you want a horrible experience. They are rude and unprofessional, to say the least! After renting here for 10+ years, im leaving without looking back. My unit cost 35.00 and they were charging me 100. They dont return calls and hang up on u if they dont like what your saying. NOT WORTH IT!!! read more

My husband and I have been with this company for over 13 years. Last year new owners took over and they wanted to increase our rates by 20%. 20%! Customer service has been extremely poor and mice got into our possessions. I do not recommend the storage facility anymore. Sadly, I have been very happy with them previously. This company seems to only be concerned about making money, not customer service. We have since moved to another storage facility in her much happier there. read more

I am a long time patron of this facility. More . than 8 years off and on. It was great when it was Universal Storage, not so great now. New management is not really together and on the same page where protocols are concerned. I have been told one thing over the phone, then another by someone else. My family had 3 storage units there. We went to close one out and the lady wouldn't even go look at it. We got assurances that it was no problem. Then a week later someone calls to tell us we have to come in to close it out! Unbelievable! We were forced to buy insurance or vacate. We got a raise of $30.00 with no warning! I really hate this place and the new owners. Next weekend guess I better move on out! I was greeted by Gina, she had a big smile, and explained everything, answering questions etc. in a very professional manner. She drove me around to see my unit/space I would be renting. We went back to the office where I signed my paperwork, she went over each point with me, making sure I understood. The office and storage areas are very clean and I was offered water while I waited for my printout of all I signed. I would recommend this business to everyone. I have been with this company for over a year. When they made the switch to new management it was horrible. My rate more then doubled, I was treated poorly, and they can't get their billing straight. I had auto withdrawal put and for some reason they couldn't figure that out. Even though I had numerous conversations with them about it. I decided to move out and go elsewhere. The last day that I was there I went to let them know. The lady who had just locked the door (at 4:58 before closing time) said "sorry we are closed" frustrated I moved on and called them explaining I let you guys know 3 weeks ago that I moved out and want to cancel( I have no contract) they then told me that they are still going to charge me for April because I wasn't out by 4:30. Why? I told these people 3 weeks ago that I was gonna be out before April 1st and I was! Poor customer service, ridiculous rates, and stupid rules. I will be going everywhere with this! read more

My wife and I have been renting at this place for years now and this is the worst past year since the new owners took over, they have raised our rent three times, twice with no notice at all. I have written bad reviews more than once and not even any explanations as to why the increases. My stuff in my unit is covered in a fine dust, they shut off all the power outlets so I can't use my blower to blow it out. Trash always blowing around and office is often close during business hours. They just want more money every few months with a decrease in customer service or any communication as to why they want more and the office staff have no answers what so ever. The owner don't react to any complaints at all other than raise your rent more. I would not recommend this place and now I will have to move my stuff out. I am on a fixed income and no longer can afford the continued increases in the rent. I'm sure I will receive more in the future. Thanks Discount Storage read more
