I wish to share my positive experiences with Righetti Automotive in San Rafael, CA Steve Reghetti and his team are true professionals, highly in tune, and fluent in every car make and mechanical component. They have worked on our 3 cars for years, with total satisfaction. When comparing the charged hourly rate, they are for certain the lowest in Marin County. I am with honors recommend them highly. Steve and Roger will do right by you, and there's not much they don't know about cars. I don't know what their history is, but they remind me of my high school gearhead buddies in the '70s who used to work on each others' cars on weeknights and race on the weekends. read more

Honest and trustworthy shop. Highly recommend them. Always satisfied with the service & fair prices.

Steve did an amazing job taking care of my daughter's Subaru maintenance needs. Not only did he complete the requested items, but also educated me along the way. You won't be disappointed using Righetti's for your needs. read more

Perhaps the best in all California. Other mechanics call Steve Righetti when they are stuck with a problem. Steve is 100% honest. I dealt with them for 30 years and I wouldn't dream of buying a used car without him checking it out read more

I recommend Steve Righitti who has Righitti Automotive (415)459-6651 . He services my Lexus 470 and all my friends are now going to him with rave reviews ; because he is honest . My close friend just took her Mercedes convertible there for repairs after being ripped off by other unethical shops and is very happy. Steve was reccomeded to by my orginal mechanic Mike Gomez of Gomez Auto who retired a few years ago. Righitti Automotive is at 3241 Kerner Blvd San Rafael CA 94901 United States . Let him know Cheray referred you. read more

I have been taking my cars to Righetti for some time now, Steve and Roger are highly qualified mechanics who listen to what I may have to say about a particular problem, also I never feel like I'm being "up sold" at any time, they usually offer a few options depending on the circumstances, to sum up, very fair and I leave with the confidence that the repair is done correctly. read more

Steve and Roger combine many, many decades of solid car repair experience. My 97 Toyota Camry with 350+K miles has been in excellent hands with them! Pricing is reasonable. They are also such nice people. I highly recommend Righetti Automotive! read more

I had a last minute urgent car battery replacement and Steve and Rodger were so kind to help replace it and they charged me a reasonable fee. Definitely will come back! read more

5 stars for this crew! A small shop that does things the old fashioned way - hands on, with years of experience and a commitment to a high standard of professional integrity. I'm very glad I found Steve Righetti's shop open, and willing to do a pre-purchase inspection on a used car that I was thinking very seriously of buying. The Carfax was clean. Everything looked terrific to me, everything worked, and it ran well when I drove it. Steve showed me that the car had been in an significant rear end accident, where seam sealer had been haphazardly replaced, and there was an area that didn't line up perfectly. He also pointed out where repairs had been made using spot welds, after a section had been cut to make repairs. All in all Steve reinforced that Carfax is nothing more than a reference tool, and that the MOST important thing when buying a used car (even from a dealer) is to get an experienced professional mechanic to do a complete inspection prior to purchasing. read more

I feel very lucky to have found Steve Righetti as my mechanic. Friendly, honest, accommodating, and an unbelievable problem-solver. Steve and his team have been working on my Toyota 4Runner (3rd owner with 250k miles) for a couple of years now, and have been super reasonable with the small maintenance issues as well as a couple of big surprises that have come my way. Always happy to talk through their work and find the right way to a real solution. They've been very affordable, but don't mistake that for cheap work - I know that I'm getting real expert hands under the hood. In my experience they truly want to do right by their clients - I totally trust them with my vehicle. My reward is a car that runs better than the day I bought it. A truly awesome shop, the best I've found over 20 years in the county. read more

I drive a 1999 Lexus that hasn't had many problems over the years, but recently, I began to have issues with some of the bigger systems of the vehicle. After getting estimates from Lexus and a couple other local repair shops, I was referred to Righetti Automotive, and since taking it in to have them work on it, my car now runs better than it has for years - and the cost of the repair was significantly less than the other estimates I received. Steve and Roger know what they're doing, which is reflected in the fact that I've never had to take my car in for the same issue twice. They always make an effort to do the job correctly, and at a very fair price. I completely trust them and have referred friends and family to them with very positive feedback every time. read more

When a local noticed my car smoking when I pulled into a San Rafael gas station, he recommended I reach out to Steve Righetti. He called him up, put me on the phone with him, and Steve was helping me out within fifteen minutes. Not only was Steve (and his colleague Roger) extremely efficient when troubleshooting my car's problem, but he was extremely kind. He recognized that I was having a rough day while traveling for family matters and kept me smiling while he worked. He was more than fair and did his best to pinpoint the issue at minimal cost, going so far as to drive down to pick up a part so that I could make my way back by the end of Saturday (instead of being stuck until Monday business resumed. He even called Monday morning to ensure I made it back to the South Bay safely--which I did. Take your business to Steve if you're looking for someone you can trust to do the job and treat you well. I'm extremely grateful I was pointed in his direction. read more

I just wanted to give Steve Righetti and Bill two tumbs up, way up. We've been using their excellent service for years. Completely honest, which they have proven over and over! Can't give a high enough recommendation. Thanks Steve and Bill! read more

LOVE this place. Honest, friendly, fair and open on Saturday. Steve, Bob, and Roger are exactly what you want when taking your car in. They took care of my 'emergency' without any issues and went above and beyond to make sure it was all fixed. I will be taking my car here for all my needs. read more

Outstanding experience. I was referred by a friend who has been going here for years. He insisted that Steve was the best mechanic in the North Bay and absolutely the most honest. My friend was right--Steve and the crew are about as honest as they come. Fast turnaround, very fair pricing and the quality was great. I thought I was in for a much more expensive repair, but the guys actually said it was something much cheaper. A lot of other shops would have said the more expensive repair was necessary. Will be back for all of my auto needs. read more

Great work!!! Very honest people, always available to help! I passed to other places where I just spent my money and the problem wasn't solved. In the Righetti, they solved the problem, with a really good price. My car is great now!!! I extremely recommend this place if you are look for people who really understand about cars! Thank you Roger, Bill and Steve!! read more

These guys are the real deal. I trust them, I care for them, and I know they care for me. Never going to another mechanic again!

These guys are the best! Super nice, professional and honest. They were super fast doing my oil change and responsive to all my questions. They didn't try to upsell me AT ALL like they do at the drive through places, which I REALLY appreciate. I've come here a few times and will definitely come back. Highly recommended! read more

I've been coming to Steve Reghetti and Reghetti Automotive for more than 10 years. I used to live nearby in Mill Valley....but I continue to use Reghetti exclsuively even though it's a 40 mile drive from Orinda! First with my BMW, then my Explorer Limited and now my Mercedes SL500. Steve is first and foremost *honest*. But beyond that valuable character trait, he's simply the best diagnostic mechanic I have ever known. Give him the chance and he'll figure out the problem and find a low-cost solution. His idea of a basic oil change is to check every fluid under the hood, give the engine a careful listen for anything I might ignore with the radio blasting away, give the tires and air pressure a check and charge me a fair price for that oil change only. His attention to preventative maintenance has saved me thousands of dollars and kept my cars reliably on the road. On more than one occasion, if I had taken my SL500 to a Mercedes service department instead of to Reghetti, the bill would have likely been been literally triple or more in costs. Steve is friendly, talented, dependable and we've grown to be friends over the years. Actually, every time I visit Steve there are always "customer/friends" getting their cars serviced. His shop is tucked away on Kerner but definitely worth looking for! read more

Had my 2 year maintenance service done on the Caddy. Steve is still methodical and basically a nice guy to interact with. Saturday with an appointment. Thanks Steve. read more

I'd definitely recommend this place. These guys have been in town forever. They're friendly, courteous, honest and reliable. Their prices are reasonable and they are a great overall resource to have (they themselves know a lot of folks/businesses in town) read more

These guys go the extra mile to make sure their clients are happy, rare in the automotive industry.

My wife went there to have work on her car. They were extremely nice, fairly priced and communicated immediately when issue was diagnosed. Highly recommend. read more

I needed a new ring gear and battery on my '79 Cadillac....and after that was done, a few other things got repaired along the way, with no charge. I was very happy with their attention to details. I think they could spot problems like an eagle following a mouse in a field at long distance, it seems. There were other things that I can have done, but they wouldn't go ahead without my permission......leaving it for another time. They were very honest and to the point. If they needed a bit more time, or were very busy, they let me know. Steve, the owner.....is very knowledgeable, and thorough. He takes pride in doing a good job for you, and it shows. read more

I had a really positive experience with this company. I came in with a problem with my car starting and Steve was super helpful. He went above and beyond trying to get to the root of the problem. They definitely aren't the type of mechanics to try and milk you for as much as they can, quite the opposite actually. Excellent service and I'll definitely coming back when any other issues arise. Thanks! read more

I've been using Righetti services for my car for almost 20 years. To say I'm a happy customer would be an understatement. Steve and Bill have the highest level of integrity and have always done excellent repairs and maintenance for my cars. Highly recommended. read more

This shop was nice enough to get me in on a Saturday. Lucky for me, the problem with my car was straightforward and relatively inexpensive to fix. While I was there, several friends of the proprietor stopped by to chat. Very much a neighborhood operation that is run by straight-dealing people. read more

These guys are pros. They know their cars. Come here if you want honest hard workers to get your car road worthy. It also doesn't hurt that they are super nice guys either. I had a '93 Jeep that couldn't pass smog. They quickly diagnosed the issue, fixed it and I passed with flying colors today. I am ecstatic. Thanks, Righetti Automotive! read more

Righetti Automotive is competent, kind and very honest. I have taken my old Honda Accord there and my son's Scion there several times and have been happy every time. They always give me good information and guidance and solve my older cars' problems. read more

One of those milestones in life... Finding an auto shop that are really good and you can really trust. They make time. They communicate well. I have a lot of experience under the hood and I can tell you they are really honest. We did two complicated projects recently -- #1 full AC compressor/system replacement on a 2008 X5 with Adaptive Drive - 4 Zone cooling (the hard one). Excellent price. Fast. Clean. Awesome. #2 Ferreting out a vacuum leak on my Mother-In-Law's 2004 PT Ragtop. Several shops had looked at it or tried in the past couple of years. Steve and his posse got it done. I have a few more projects for them and I honestly can't wait. read more

Some of my friends have used and recommended this shop for years. I have had 3 of my vehicles serviced here recently. From a LOF to a fairly major rehab on a 21 year old collector car. For those of us with older, unusual "special needs" vehicles; you do need a relationship with your mechanic(s). read more

Righetti Automotive are the most honest mechanics that I have ever dealt with. They know their stuff, have always done good work on my cars, and are honest and straight forward. I highly recommend them. read more

Righetti is Honest, friendly, PERIOD.. and doesn't over charge. I have a 2003 VW Jetta with 230k+ original miles, I couldn't get $800 for the VW if I traded it in for a new car, but it runs well! But also means I shouldn't spend a thousand dollars every time something breaks. So I went to his neighbor to blow out my drain plugs (common vw sunroof problem/Steve couldn't do it) and after that service (which the neighbor over charged 100% more than the dealership)neighbor estimated $400 to replace a dry/cracking brake valve/plastic tube that he noticed. Thankfully I said no and went to trustee Steve at Righetti's. He told me to stop by after work, I arrived at 5:30pm. Steve didn't have the part, so his partner Rodger drove to the parts store to pick it up. This was after 6pm! All said and done, Steve charged me $20 for the part and $30 for labor. I don't know how I found this shop, but so happy I did. He doesn't try to upsell me OEM parts for my car. He tries to get me the best deal to keep me safely on the road. I appreciate his honesty and his (and Rodgers) customer service. 5 stars guys! read more

Our family has taken four cars to Righetti Automotive, and we recommend their work. Steve Righetti has been at this location for 40 years, and he stays abreast of the technology in cars. All the technicians are thorough, honest gentlemen. They'll let me know what other repairs might be needed, but there's no pressure. The prices are very fair (lower then other places) and the quality of work is very good. And sometimes one of the techs includes a little safety advice along with his work. It's one of the few auto repair places open on Saturdays. And the owner Steve, is there on Saturdays, too. This place offers good, old-fashioned customer care. It's not the closest repair shop to my home, but it's worth the drive. read more

Steve and Bill are probably the best in the biz. Very honest and fast. Highly recommended! Will be back for future repair and services!

My husband and I have been using Righetti Automotive for some time and have always been very happy with the professionalism and honest nature of all of it's employees. Recently, our car was in for minor repairs and the mechanics were very informative and explained all of our options. Our bill was thoroughly itemized and explained to us including discounts the mechanic gave us to help offset our expenses. We would highly recommend using Righetti Automotive for any size repair. read more
