Looked on yelp and a bunch of other businesses and I'll save you a bunch of time and tell you that this is by far the cheapest smog test center in Marin. You do have to down load a coupon but I'll attach it to my review so you can just show them and get the discounted rate! I called the facility around 4pm and asked if they could run a smog check on my Toyota Prius that day and they said yes! I arrive at around 4:40 and they saw me immediately with no wait. They ran a few tests which took about 15 mins. The total price was $40+$8 card fee so just under $50 which is a decent deal. I've been to other locations San Francisco as well and this is pretty much the lowest price you can find. The guy running the test was polite and efficient. He did make me wait out in the cold though when I could have just sat in my car and not affected his testing but whatever. Also didn't wear a mask the entire time which seems to be consistent with other people's reviews about not being "COVID safe." Overall, I had a pretty easy in and out experience which was reasonably priced. read more

I have a 1993 Plymouth Voyager, because it's so old it takes much longer to smog. If you have an older vehicle like mine, be prepared to wait as it takes awhile for the tech to do it right. No coupons for older cars because the tech gets a full work out smogging these older vehicles. The young man who did the work was honest, upfront and communicated everything going on and why. I was looking for a cheap and convenient smog check location in Marin, and this one fits the bill! It's a really good deal, especially when you find a coupon. The gentleman who helped me was friendly, pleasant, and attentive. The whole procedure only took 20 minutes -- just enough for a stroll over to the shopping center to grab a chai latte. I can no longer recommend these guys and I don't even know if they are in business any longer. The phone number they have on Yelp and on their website doesn't work. They also don't advertise a $29.95 special anymore, and don't actually mention anything other than "price varies". The recent posts about the owner or worker trying to push religious materials on customers also doesn't excite me. read more

Had a Smog check appointment at 9am. Another car showed up at 9 am (no appointment) so I have to wait or reschedule???

Good work but was told I was deceived and there is a hell here. The smog guy was blasting a raging Christian preacher on the radio. It was very innapropriate and unprofessional. read more

Staff are Incompetent and covid unsafe. Undependable. Owner is unreachable by phone. My car failed BV smog testt and BV wrote "free retest" and said to return after I repaired car. When I returned with my repaired car a different BV employee (incorrectly said) he would not test the car because the eval monitor had not reset and I would have to talk to someone else on the weekend. I called 3 other smog shops in San Rafael, they all stated it is fine to retest (after repair) is just the evap monitor s not ready. Took to one and passed just fine. Also, BV worker did not wear a mask and gave a wierd religious recruiting handout with my invoice. read more

This smog location is more than conveniently close to the DMV, it's also a great find! I wasn't expecting much from a smog station in a gas station, but I was greeted with friendly and professional service. I waited less than 5 min, with a prompt smog of only 20 min. Mike was informative and provided me with my fail (yep - fail... sadly my 2012 did not pass first time), but Mike provided me with the fail codes, looked them up online to help me understand what as possibly wrong with my fuel pump, then printed a list of guys who can repair the problem. I did not expect such amazing, kind, and professional service. I will be back for my passing smog, after I get the error codes repaired. Thanks Mike! To the rest of you Yelpers ... service isn't always leather chairs and coffee in the waiting room... Horrible! Broke my computer port. Do NOT go here. Plugged it in, started the test, then went and yanked my computer input terminal out... ripped a wire. Left it dangling. I had to go to dealership and he had obviously broken it. Incompetent I want nothing to do with and filing complaint read more

We live nearby and were hoping this could be our go to. Both times we have taken a vehicle in for an oil change, we were overcharged more than $100. Both times once i called it out, they feigned ignorance, and then adjusted the fee. Clearly this is a strategy and they figure most will just pay it. read more

I dropped my car of at lunch with the understanding it would be smogged by 3:30. Arrived to find it still in the testing area . I then waited 1 hour while he very slowly and with stops for a cigarette, drink of coke,food and at one point a search for a cable to correctly hook up a diagnostic machine. Cost $101 as my car is a 1995. A nice enough guy but I would advise NOT going here due to the unprofessional conduct and disorganization. ***Since this post I received a call on my personal cell phone from the mechanic of the smog station threatening me with an attorney**** On a good note the manager of the gas station Raja was very sorry for my experience and welcomed the feedback-great customer service. read more

A smog chest should not include a prayer card. One of the most bloodthirsty and graphic/horrific images of Jesus I've ever seen & this gentleman was pretty pushy. I said no thanks, don't give me that he said it's the most important thing you'll ever read. Neither the time nor place. I'm not a Christian and I don't need to be proselytized. Took m Saab here to have a nail removed from a tire, in the process of which they discovered my brake pads needed replacing. This was going to take a couple hours which I hadn't counted on, the owner of the shop just gave me the keys to HIS car, said do what you need to do! My experience there was excellent. Mike was friendly and professional. I was in and out in under 30 minutes. It was definitely a fair price and cost me less than a couple other places I had called nearby. I got in and out of there so quickly that I was able to get over to the DMV and get my tags before they closed, which I did not at all expect. Called two hours ahead for a time to test. Showed up at that time (3:30). No guy there. The mechanic who shares the repair station said the guy hadn't shown up yet, and there were three cars ahead of me. There are many smog check shops nearby, so I used one of them. read more

I called for a last minute appt and he said to come right in. The person who helped me was friendly and professional and even added air to my tires. Plus the location can't be beat. The only caveat to a great review is that you might have to wait. I think the word is out that this is a great and cheap place to get your car smogged with their coupon that is easy to find on line. I called ahead and was told to just come in, but when I showed up a short time later there were several cars ahead of mine.
