I went here after my car failed a smog at a different place. I didn't feel like the information I was given was correct so I went here. It didn't pass here but the man gave me really good advice on how to fix it - I had gotten a new battery which can make it fail. Also- he didn't charge me for the re-test unlike the first place I took it to that wanted to charge me. I will definitely come back here! read more

The one downside of this location is that there isn't a good waiting area. But it is a short walk to several nearby cafe's or a grocery store. read more

I called around for quotes on the cost of a smog certification. The guy said it depended on my type of car, I told him and he came back with a price. I said OK and made an appointment. At the appointment the guy presented a higher proposal for me to sign. I told him about our phone call and the price quoted. He said he never spoke with me (it did sound like him) and he could reduce the proposal, but he still charged me more than was quoted. This is really a bad business practice. Otherwise, he's a nice guy and got me in and out pretty quickly. read more

They should have told me that my vehicle would not pass when they saw that my check engine light was on. Per California law, any vehicle requiring a smog test that has the check engine light on automatically fails. Shame on me for not knowing this - shame on Tam Junction SMOG for failing to warn me and then charging me $50. Also: they are expensive. Drive a few miles and pay half of what they will charge you. This is my only experience with a smog check, but I gotta say, it was very pleasant!! I was lucky that nobody was currently being checked when I drove up, so there was no line. I can not believe what an amazingly nice and genuine person Jerry is!! I was traveling down the coast towards Sausalito... Nil stations or warnings from Jenner on. Unfortunately I ran out of fuel going uphill on shoreline hwy nearly ten miles from his place.... had to park into a turn out in the wrong direction. Seriously, complete nightmare! A sweet couple dropped my puppy and I off here to pick up a gas can and find a tow truck or taxi back. To my complete surprise Jerry helped me without hesitation. A gas can AND two separate trips back to my car after the first attempt wasn't enough to start my g500 beast. After all his time and paying for the fuel himself, he barely accepted the repayment for the few gallons. I will say it again -- can hardly believe this man helped my puppy and I like this! A true gem to this world and Marin county is so lucky to have him. Something tells me everyone he does business with notices how authentic he is. Ten stars for sure. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!
